Background and Aims: The advent of 3D printing has revolutionized plastic surgery and prosthetic devices, providing personalized solutions for patients with traumatic injuries, deformities, and appearance‐related conditions. This review offers a comprehensive overview of 3D printing's applications, advantages, limitations, and future prospects in these fields. Methods: A literature search was conducted in PubMed, Google Scholar, and Scopus for studies on 3D printing in plastic surgery. Results: 3D printing has significantly contributed to personalized medical interventions, with benefits like enhanced design flexibility, reduced production time, and improved patient outcomes. Using computer‐aided design (CAD) software, precise models tailored to a patient's anatomy can be created, ensuring better fit, functionality, and comfort. 3D printing allows for intricate geometries, leading to improved aesthetic outcomes and patient‐specific prosthetic limbs and orthoses. The historical development of 3D printing, key milestones, and breakthroughs are highlighted. Recent progress in bioprinting and tissue engineering shows promising applications in regenerative medicine and transplantation. The integration of AI and automation with 3D printing enhances surgical planning and outcomes. Emerging trends in patient‐specific treatment planning and precision medicine are potential game‐changers. However, challenges like technical considerations, economic implications, and ethical issues exist. Addressing these challenges and advancing research in materials, design processes, and long‐term outcomes are crucial for widespread adoption. Introduction Gastrojejunostomy is a surgical procedure involving creating an anastomosis between the stomach and the proximal loop of the jejunum. There is a paucity of data comparing the outcome of Roux-en-Y (RY) versus loop gastrojejunostomy (LG) in benign gastric outlet obstruction. Therefore, the current study aimed to assess the pre-, peri-, and postoperative parameters and complications of RY and LG in patients with benign gastric outlet obstruction. Method This prospective cohort study was conducted at Hayatabad Medical Complex, Peshawar, Pakistan, between January 2019 and January 2022. The study aimed to assess the outcomes of gastrojejunostomy in patients who chose to undergo the surgery compared to those who chose not to. Patients who needed gastrojejunostomy were included, and those with specific exclusion criteria were excluded. Baseline data were collected, and participants were followed up for two years to assess the outcomes of the treatment. The primary outcome was the incidence of complications related to gastrojejunostomy, and the secondary outcomes included changes in body weight, nutritional status, quality of life, and overall survival. The data were analyzed using appropriate statistical methods and reported according to the STROBE guidelines. Results The mean age of the LG group patients was higher than in the RY group (p<0.0001). The BMI was slightly higher in the RY group compared to the LG group (23±1 vs 22±1). The time taken by the RY operation was quite high compared to the LG technique (p<0.0001). Regarding the postoperative complications, there was no significant difference between the two groups. However, the incidence of biliary gastritis was high in the LG group compared to the RY group, and the difference was statistically significant (p = 0.008). Conclusion The study compared Roux-en-Y (RY) and loop gastrojejunostomy (LG) in patients with benign gastric outlet obstruction. The results showed that both techniques were safe and effective, but the choice of technique should be individualized based on patient characteristics and surgeon preference. The current recommendations for surgery for men with breast cancer (MBC) are heavily influenced by clinical studies with only women as participants. Because there have been no clinical trials for the surgical treatment of MBC, we did a systematic review to compare disease-free survival (DFS), disease-specific survival (DSS), and overall survival (OS) between MBC patients who had breast-conserving surgery (BCS) and those who had a mastectomy. We also looked at radiotherapy compliance among male BCS patients. Objective: The goal of this prospective cohort study is to compare the effectiveness, safety, cost-effectiveness, and cosmetic results of breast conservation surgery (BCS) and mastectomy in treating early-stage breast cancer in developing countries. Material and Method In this prospective cohort study conducted in department of surgery hmc Peshawar from july 2021 t0 july 2022, 100 women with early-stage breast cancer will be randomly given either breast-conserving surgery (BCS) or a mastectomy. The study will be conducted at a single medical center in a developing country. The primary outcome measures will be recurrence-free survival, overall survival, and quality of life. The costs of the two treatments, the cosmetic results, and any side effects will be used as secondary outcome measures. The patients will be followed up for a minimum of 5 years. Results The results of this study will be used to compare the efficacy, safety, cost-effectiveness, and cosmetic outcomes of BCS and mastectomy in the treatment of early-stage breast cancer in developing countries. The primary outcome measure will be recurrencefree survival, overall survival, and quality of life. The costs of the two treatments, the cosmetic results, and any side effects will be used as secondary outcome measures. The patients will be followed up for a minimum of 5 years. Dengue fever is a common viral disease presenting with a flu-like illness and bleeding manifestations. Although abdominal pain is a common presenting symptom of Dengue fever, gastrointestinal perforations are extremely rare. To date, only ten cases of gastrointestinal perforation have been reported in association with Dengue fever. We report a case of ileal perforation in a young patient who was diagnosed with Dengue fever. The disease was diagnosed with an x-ray abdomen and was treated with surgical exploration. The perforation was brought out as an ileostomy. Although rare, perforation peritonitis is highly fatal if left untreated. This must be considered early in the differentials of a Dengueinfected patient with signs of peritonitis. More studies are required to see into the patho-physiology of this association. Following the recent surge in monkeypox cases worldwide, vaccines have gained popularity due to their protective role against the disease in the absence of specific pharmacological therapies for the disease. This article explores the possible challenges associated with the treatment and prevention of monkeypox with special emphasis on cardiovascular concerns relating to vaccines, warranting further investigation and research., Methods: Multiple electronic databases from inception till October 2022 were searched to find articles reporting the cardiovascular adverse events associated with monkeypox immunization., Results: Smallpox vaccines ACAM2000, JYNNEOS, and modified vaccinia Ankara have been used for monkeypox. ACAM2000 has been reported to have major cardiovascular adverse events such as myocarditis, dilated cardiomyopathy, and heart failure. Whereas JYNNEOS and modified vaccinia Ankara are associated with minor cardiovascular adverse events such as tachycardia, palpitation, electrocardiogram changes such as T wave inversion, and ST elevation., Conclusions: Despite having cardiovascular issues with the existing vaccines, clinicians and public health experts should measure the risk benefit aspect of smallpox vaccines to decide whether to go for mass immunization or not. Based on the lessons learned from the COVID-19 pandemic, immunization will be a better strategy to halt the monkeypox spread throughout the globe.
