The agronomic use of natural zeolite is widely supported by several works. However, almost all are focused on the application of the clinoptilolite as slow plant-nutrient fertilizer and soil conditioner. Our study describes the first comprehensive study on the effects of a Italian chabazite-bearing zeolitite (rocks containing more than 50% of zeolites) on a maize cultivation. The objective was to determine the effects of applying zeolitite on (i) Zea mays yield and quality, under two irrigation regimes and (ii) check if it can improve the efficiency of urea fertilization on a loamy soil in an open experimental field of Italy. The production and quality of the corn grown in the traditional way was compared with that of the plots treated with two different amounts of zeolitite (4 and 8 Kg/m2) and each treatment was monitored both in irrigated and not-irrigated conditions. The measurements of chlorophyll and those related to the morphological features of the plants show suffering conditions of the corn plants in not-irrigated conditions. Furthermore we show that the plants grown with zeolitite and fertilized with less urea have produced the same amounts of corn plants fertilized with traditional contents of urea., EQA - International Journal of Environmental Quality, Vol 17 (2015)

Après 57 années de fonctionnement, les abattoirs de Malley ont étés fermés le 21 mars 2002, avec pour principale cause le prix trop élevé des travaux de modernisation devenus nécessaires pour répondre aux normes européennes. Les bâtiments s'insèrent dans un contexte particulièrement intéressant: ils se trouvent dans un site urbain en développement, actuellement en pleine expansion. Cet emplacement stratégique sur l'avenue du Chablais, à la jonction des 3 communes du "grand Lausanne" -Lausanne, Prilly, Renens-, constitue le pivot d'une situation en pleine mutation, soit par les nouvelles activités qui ont pris place avec la construction du centre Malley Lumières soit par le projet Europan 7 relevant le défi de revaloriser le secteur par une urbanisation des terrains disponibles avec des logements, des infrastructures collectives et des commerces. L'intervention aux abattoirs pose justement ses bases sur la configuration établie d'après les résultats du concours Europan. Le propos est de créer des infrastructures publiques en requalifiant ces bâtiments faisant partie du passé industriel sous une optique de développement durable, tout en sauvegardant leur mémoire historique.

What is New:• Bronchiolitis hospitalization rose much faster in the 2021-2022 winter period, peaking at a higher level. Respiratory supports and high-flow nasal cannula increased significantly compared to the pre-pandemic era.

Epistaxis is a common condition in childhood. Anterior nosebleeds are most common, almost always self-limited and rarely life-threatening. Infective and allergic rhinitis, mucosal dryness, trauma, foreign body, rhinitis and digital manipulation can cause epistaxis, which can often be secondary to systemic diseases. A complete evaluation is necessary and a referral to or consultation with an otolaryngologist is indicated for patients with severe (posterior, haemodynamically unstable) or recurrent epistaxis or in case of epistaxis due to local abnormalities, such as tumours, polyps or telangiectasias).
