One of important renewable energy sources is biomass, which can be used for heat. Leaves as a one type of every major city waste, can also represent a source of energy. The possibility of leaves pelletization process supposes the conversion of the residue into an applicable product. The aim of study was to evaluate the possibility of leave pelletization including characterization of raw materials and pellet properties analysis. It was found the optimal composition of input mixtures using a various amount of binder (starch) and optimal moisture for pelletization process. The first results show the mixtures flow easily with the increase of binder content (free flowing materials). The angle of internal friction and wall friction of studied input mixtures decreases with amount of binder. In the case of pellet analysis, it was found the similar conclusion. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
