Abstract

Architectural deficiencies in EPICS lead to inefficiency in the development and application of EPICS input/output controllers (IOCs). An unintrusive solution is replacing EPICS IOCs with more maintainable and flexible Python IOCs, only reusing the Channel Access (CA) protocol of EPICS. After a digression about GUI development inspired by EPICS operator interfaces (OPIs), the structural similarity between standalone GUI backends, the Mamba backend, EPICS IOCs and other server programs is analysed. By combining the caproto library and event loops like those in these server programs, the QueueIOC framework for Python IOCs is created, which has the potential to systematically replace most EPICS IOCs currently used. Examples are first given for workalikes of StreamDevice and asyn; examples for seq-like applications include monochromators, motor anti-bumping and motor multiplexing. Also shown is software to use with the ~/iocBoot convention which addresses some issues with a similar solution based on procServ, along with a workalike of procServControl. Abstract

At least 25 kinds of detector-like devices need to be integrated in Phase I of the High Energy Photon Source (HEPS), and the work needs to be carefully planned to maximise productivity with highly limited human resources. After a systematic analysis on the actual work involved in detector integration, a separation of concerns between collaborating groups of personnel is established to minimise the duplication of efforts. To facilitate software development for detector integration, the ADGenICam library, which abstracts repeated code in EPICS modules for cameras, is extended to support a much wider range of detectors. An increasingly considerable fraction of detectors, both inside and outside HEPS, offer performance that exceed capabilities of the areaDetector framework in EPICS. Given this background, areaDetector's limitations in performance and architecture are analysed, and a QueueIOC -based framework that overcomes these limitations is introduced. A simple, flexible ZeroMQ-based protocol is used for data transport in this framework, while RDMA transport and multi-node readout will be explored for higher data throughputs. By calling C/C++ libraries from within Python, the performance of the former and the expressiveness of the latter can coexist nicely; the expressiveness allows for much higher efficiency in the implementation and use of integration modules functionally comparable to their EPICS counterparts., Comment: 11 pages, 3 figures

Abstract

Emotional Support Conversation aims at reducing the seeker's emotional distress through supportive response. Existing approaches have two limitations: (1) They ignore the emotion causes of the distress, which is important for fine-grained emotion understanding; (2) They focus on the seeker's own mental state rather than the emotional dynamics during interaction between speakers. To address these issues, we propose a novel framework CauESC, which firstly recognizes the emotion causes of the distress, as well as the emotion effects triggered by the causes, and then understands each strategy of verbal grooming independently and integrates them skillfully. Experimental results on the benchmark dataset demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach and show the benefits of emotion understanding from cause to effect and independent-integrated strategy modeling., Comment: 15 pages, 5 figures

Abstract

Abstract Over the past three decades, there has been increasing interest in miniaturized percutaneous nephrolithotomy (mPCNL) techniques featuring smaller tracts as they offer potential solutions to mitigate complications associated with standard PCNL (sPCNL). However, despite this growing acceptance and recognition of its benefits, unresolved controversies and acknowledged limitations continue to impede widespread adoption due to a lack of consensus on optimal perioperative management strategies and procedural tips and tricks. In response to these challenges, an international panel comprising experts from the International Alliance of Urolithiasis (IAU) took on the task of compiling an expert consensus document on mPCNL procedures aimed at providing urologists with a comprehensive clinical framework for practice. This endeavor involved conducting a systematic literature review to identify research gaps (RGs), which formed the foundation for developing a structured questionnaire survey. Subsequently, a two-round modified Delphi survey was implemented, culminating in a group meeting to generate final evidence-based comments. All 64 experts completed the second-round survey, resulting in a response rate of 100.0%. Fifty-eight key questions were raised focusing on mPCNLs within 4 main domains, including general information (13 questions), preoperative work-up (13 questions), procedural tips and tricks (19 questions), and postoperative evaluation and follow-up (13 questions). Additionally, 9 questions evaluated the experts’ experience with PCNLs. Consensus was reached on 30 questions after the second-round survey, while professional statements for the remaining 28 key questions were provided after discussion in an online panel meeting. mPCNL, characterized by a tract smaller than 18 Fr and an innovative lithotripsy technique, has firmly established itself as a viable and effective approach for managing upper urinary tract stones in both adults and pediatrics. It offers several advantages over sPCNL including reduced bleeding, fewer requirements for nephrostomy tubes, decreased pain, and shorter hospital stays. The series of detailed techniques presented here serve as a comprehensive guide for urologists, aiming to improve their procedural understanding and optimize patient outcomes.

12. Effect of Low-Temperature Superfine Grinding on the Physicochemical and Functional Properties of the Pulp Powder of Citrus reticulata ‘Chachi’

Abstract

The study aimed to explore the rational utilization of Citrus reticulata ‘Chachi’ pulp. Low-temperature superfine grinding (SG) technology was employed to prepare citrus pulp powder, and its physicochemical properties, microstructure and functional properties were examined. A significant reduction in the particle size of citrus pulp powder was observed after SG treatment (P < 0.05). With increasing grinding time, the particle size decreased, the color became lighter progressively, the tap density decreased, the repose angle and slip angle enlarged, the water-holding capacity decreased, and the oil-holding capacity, water solubility index and swelling degree increased. Meanwhile, the particle distribution of the powder became more homogeneous, while no changes in functional groups occurred. It was also found that SG for 10 min resulted in a significant increase (P < 0.05) in total phenol and vitamin C (VC) contents by 12.70% and 17.27%, respectively, compared with ordinary grinding (OG). By high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), nine flavonoids were identified, the major ones being hesperidin and narirutin, accounting for 78.06% and 8.96% of the total flavonoid content, respectively; five phenolic acids were identified, with the predominant one being ferulic acid, representing 73.85% of the total phenolic acid content, as well as synephrine and limonin. SG treatment greatly promoted the dissolution of bioactive components. Compared with OG, SG for 10 and 30 min increased the ferulic acid content by 190.72% and 109.68%, respectively. Limonin and nomiline contents significantly increased after SG for 30 and 60 minutes (P < 0.05), while ferulic acid, synephrine, hesperidin, narirutin, eriocitrin, and didymin contents significantly decreased after SG for 120 min (P < 0.05). The in vitro antioxidant activity significantly increased after SG for 10 and 30 minutes (P < 0.05). Overall, low-temperature SG can be used to produce pulp powder of Citrus reticulata ‘Chachi’ with smaller particle size, more uniform particle size distribution, improved color, increased dissolution of bioactive components and enhanced antioxidant properties. However, too long SG results in powder agglomeration, and negatively impacts the fluidity of the powder and the dissolution of bioactive components.

It elucidates the biological mechanisms of weight regain from aspects such as the body weight set-point theory， metabolic adaptation， immune cell phenotypic changes， lipid metabolism， and appetite regulation. A comprehensive management strategy is proposed， including lifestyle adjustments， continuous pharmacological treatment， surgical intervention， and multidisciplinary collaboration， aiming to achieve long-term weight control in obese patients. The study emphasizes the continuity and individualization of weight management， providing scientific guidance for clinical practice.

Abstract

Edible vegetable oils could provide energy, essential fatty acids and various micronutrients required in the body. However, vegetable oils, being rich in unsaturated fatty acids, are susceptible to oxidation to produce a series of oxidation products that are harmful to health after consumption, due to environmental factors during processing and storage. Therefore, this paper introduced the causes of oxidation in edible vegetable oils, the mechanism of lipid autoxidation, the main oxidation pathways and the hazards of oil oxidation, and the research progress of antioxidation on edible vegetable oils were also reviewed, including low-temperature storage, gas-conditioned storage and adding single or combined antioxidants. Meanwhile, the current problems on the lipid oxidation and the antioxidant measures in edible vegetable oils were discussed. This work could be expected to provide some references for the researches focusing on the oxidative stability of edible vegetable oils.
