Novel compounds with two-dimensional square lattices formed by group IV or V elements (Si, Sn, Ge, Bi, and Sb) have been attracting a great deal of attention in recent times, mainly because of the possible emergence of various topological phases therein. Here, we successfully grow the single crystals of Sn-square-net based material $\mathrm{Sc}{\mathrm{Sn}}_{2}$, and systematically perform their magnetization and magnetotransport measurements. Clear quantum oscillations emerge in the magnetization isotherms along different field orientations, from which nonzero Berry phases are extracted, implying that $\mathrm{Sc}{\mathrm{Sn}}_{2}$ harbors three-dimensional Fermi surfaces and nontrivial electronic states. Similar to many other topological semimetals with extremely large magnetoresistance, $\mathrm{Sc}{\mathrm{Sn}}_{2}$ shows field-induced resistivity enhancement as well, which has been proven to be not of a gap opening origin. Besides, at low temperature, large magnetoresistance with a quasilinear field dependence is observed. Our analysis of the magnetotransport data finds that the quasilinear magnetoresistance in $\mathrm{Sc}{\mathrm{Sn}}_{2}$ cannot be understood by several familiar mechanisms proposed in the literature. These findings are expected to have far reaching implications for both the fundamental understanding and magnetoresistance device application of topological semimetal materials.

Iron chalcogenides are of particular interests among iron-based superconductors due to their distinct properties such as high

Synergic effect of electronic correlation and spin-orbit coupling is an emerging topic in topological materials. Central to this rapidly developing area are the prototypes of strongly correlated heavy-fermion systems. Recently, some Ce-based compounds are proposed to host intriguing topological nature, among which the electronic properties of CeSb are still under debate. In this paper, we report a comprehensive study combining magnetic and electronic transport measurements, and electronic band structure calculations of this compound to identify its topological nature. Quantum oscillations are clearly observed in both magnetization and magnetoresistance at high fields, from which one pocket with a nontrivial Berry phase is recognized. Angular-dependent magnetoresistance shows that this pocket is elongated in nature and corresponds to the electron pocket as observed in LaBi. Nontrivial electronic structure of CeSb is further confirmed by first-principle calculations, which arises from spin splitting in the fully polarized ferromagnetic state. These features indicate that magnetic-field can induce nontrivial topological electronic states in this prototypical Kondo semimetal.

Semimetals with extremely large magnetoresistance have attracted significant interest because of their possible nontrivial electronic structures, unusual transport properties, and also deep connections to high-energy physics. In this paper, we synthesize the GdSb single crystal and systematically characterize its crystal structure, magnetism, and electric transport properties. It is found that this compound crystallizes in the NaCl-type structure with a space group Fmm and experiences an antiferromagnetic phase transition at 23.4 K. Electric transport measurements reveal that this compound is metallic, in which spin disorders induced a resistivity anomaly emerging around its magnetic transition temperature. Intriguingly, obvious resistivity plateaus are observed at low temperatures, when the compound is subjected to the external magnetic field, showing an extremely large magnetoresistance effect up to 12 100% at 2 K and 9 T. Through the Hall resistivity measurement and first-principles band structure calculations, GdSb is believed to be a multi-band and compensated semimetal, in which the total carrier concentrations of electrons and holes are almost comparable. The electron–hole compensation and ultrahigh mobility of GdSb can contribute to the large magnetoresistance in this compound.

Iron chalcogenides are of particular interests among iron-based superconductors due to their distinct properties such as high-T c on FeSe monolayer and competing magnetic correlations in Fe1+y Te. Here we report unusual transport properties observed near the critical composition of Fe1+y Te (y ∼ 0.09) where competing magnetic correlations exist. The resistivity exhibits surprising temperature-dependent relaxation behavior below T N, resulting in the increase of resistivity with time for 35 K < T < T N, but the decrease of resistivity with time for 10 K < T < 35 K. Such resistivity relaxation is intimately coupled to the magnetization relaxation and can be attributed to the glassy magnetic states induced by the competing magnetic orders. These findings demonstrate strong coupling between itinerant carriers and local ordered moments in Fe1+y Te.

Many studies have investigated the relationship between KIR, HLA and acute myeloid leukemia (AML), but the results were different in different laboratories, and the data in Chinese population were limited. In this study, the distribution of KIR gene, KIR genotypes, HLA-C groups, HLA-Bw4, and KIR-HLA interaction from 273 healthy participants and 253 AML patients (M0-M6) in southern Chinese Han were determined to investigate the relationships among KIR, HLA and AML. Rare-earth monopnictides display rich physical behaviors, featuring most notably spin and orbital orders in their ground state. Here, we grow ErBi single crystal and study its magnetic, thermal, and electrical properties. An analysis of the magnetic entropy and magnetization indicates that the weak magnetic anisotropy in ErBi possibly derives from the mixing effect, namely the anisotropic ground state of $\mathrm{E}{\mathrm{r}}^{3+}(4{f}^{11})$ mingles with the isotropic excited state through exchange interaction. At low temperature, an extremely large magnetoresistance $(\ensuremath{\sim}{10}^{4}%)$ with a parabolic magnetic-field dependence is observed, which can be ascribed to the nearly perfect electron-hole compensation and ultrahigh carrier mobility. When the magnetic field is rotated in the $ab$ $(ac)$ plane and the current flows in the $b$ axis, the angular magnetoresistance in ErBi shows a twofold (fourfold) symmetry. Similar case has been observed in LaBi where the anisotropic Fermi surface dominates the low-temperature transport. Our theoretical calculation suggests that near the Fermi level ErBi shares similarity with LaBi in the electronic band structures. These findings indicate that the angular magnetoresistance of ErBi could be mainly determined by its anisotropic Fermi surface topology. Besides, contributions from several other possibilities, including the spin-dependent scattering, spin-orbit scattering, and demagnetization correlation to the angular magnetoresistance of ErBi are also discussed.

The occurrence of superconductivity in topological materials is considered as a promising route for realizing topological superconductors, a platform able to host the long-sought Majorana fermions in condensed matter. In this work, by using electrical transport and heat-capacity measurements, as well as first-principles band-structure calculations, we investigate the physical properties of TaOsSi, a superconductor with ${T}_{c}\ensuremath{\approx}5.8$ K. The behavior of both its upper critical field and low-temperature heat-capacity suggest the existence of two superconducting gaps. More strikingly, first-principles calculations reveal gapless topological surface states in the present material. The evolution of the electrical resistivity with pressure (up to 50 GPa) was also investigated, and a ``V-shaped'' diagram of ${T}_{c}$ vs $P$ was found. Overall, our data suggest that TaOsSi is a new system where multiband superconductivity and topological surface states coexist and, hence, it may serve as a possible candidate in the search for topological superconductivity.

HLA-B*55:02:09 and HLA-B*55:80 differ from HLA-B*55:02:01 by 1 single nucleotide substitution, respectively.

Magnetic, dielectric and magnetoelectric properties of the polycrystalline Co4NbTaO9 have been investigated in this paper. The antiferromagnetic phase transition of this compound is identified at the temperature of 23.6 K. Anomalies in the temperature-dependent dielectric constants and pyroelectric currents emerge around its magnetic transition point under magnetic field, and increase with the increasing external magnetic field. Antiferromagnetic fluctuation and domain effect are considered to be response for the phenomenon observed in this compound.

A series of Mn3Ga1−xGexC (x=0, 0.1, 0.2) compounds were prepared by solid state reaction, and their magnetic properties, phase transitions, and magnetocaloric effect were investigated. All samples, after becoming ferromagnetic below Curie temperature Tc, undergo a first-order ferromagnetic–antiferromagnetic transition at Tt at low temperature, giving rise to conventional and inverse magnetocaloric effect. Tt increases while Tc shows a decrease with the increase of Ge content. Isothermal magnetization curves around Tt are strongly history-dependent, which may result in spurious peak in the magnetic field induced entropy change ( Δ S M ). The magnetothermal properties near Tt, compared with those near Tc, are of larger Δ S M , but have larger magnetic hysteresis and smaller refrigerant capacity.

Series of Hf0.83−xZrxTa0.17Fe2 (x=0, 0.1, 0.2, and 0.3) compounds have been prepared by an arc-melting method without further annealing. As-cast samples crystallize in single phase with hexagonal MgZn2-type structure, and exhibit a first-order transition from ferromagnetic to antiferromagnetic state for x

Killer cell immunoglobulin like receptor (KIR) 3DS1 is one of the most important activating receptors and some studies revealed that KIR3DS1 combined with HLA ligand was not related to acute myeloid leukemia (AML), but rare data was reported in Chinese population. In this study, KIR3DS1 gene polymorphisms and HLA-Bw4 were investigated in 189 Chinese AML patients compared with 166 healthy individuals. The results showed that the distributions of KIR3DS1, Bw4, 3DS1/Bw4 and 3DS1/Bw4-80I were insignificantly different between AML and healthy individuals. This study suggests that the presence of 3DS1 and HLA-Bw4 ligands have no effect on AML disease.

HLA-B*27:04:06 differs from HLA-B*27:04:01 by a single-nucleotide substitution at position 396 C A.

The advent of nodal-line semimetals, i.e., systems in which the conduction and valence bands cross each other along a closed trajectory (line or loop) inside the Brillouin zone, has opened up a new arena for the exploration of topological condensed matter in which, due to a vanishing density of states near the Fermi level, electron correlation effects also may play an important role. Despite this conceptual richness, however, material realization of nodal-line (loop) fermions is rare with ${\mathrm{PbTaSe}}_{2}$, ZrSiS, and ${\mathrm{PtSn}}_{4}$ as the only promising known candidates. Here we report the synthesis and physical properties of a semimetal ${\mathrm{PdSn}}_{4}$ that is isostructural with ${\mathrm{PtSn}}_{4}$ yet possesses quasiparticles with significantly enhanced effective masses. In addition, ${\mathrm{PdSn}}_{4}$ displays an unusual polar angular magnetoresistance which, at a certain field orientation, varies linearly with fields up to 55 T. Our paper suggests that, in association with its homologue ${\mathrm{PtSn}}_{4}$ whose low-lying excitations recently were claimed to possess Dirac nodal arcs, ${\mathrm{PdSn}}_{4}$ may be a promising candidate in the search for novel topological states with enhanced correlation effects.

Polycrystalline Mn 4 Ta 2 O 9 is prepared to investigate its magnetoelectric effect, due to its specific crystal and magnetic structure. The dielectric properties and electric polarization of this compound have been carefully examined in various magnetic fields. No dielectric anomalies and spontaneous polarization is observed under zero magnetic field. While, the dielectric peak appears around the onset temperature of magnetic transition, below which finite polarization is detected. With the external magnetic field increasing, the magnitude of dielectric peak and electric polarization gradually increase, which has been discussed in the letter.

We report magnetic and electric properties of Co4Ta2O9, which is a collinear antiferromagnet with trigonal structure. At zero magnetic fields, no dielectric anomaly and electric polarization are observed in this compound. While, finite dielectric peaks and electric polarization develop under applied magnetic field, and increase with increasing field, showing magnetodielectric and magnetoelectric performance. We ascribe the magnetic-field-induced dielectric anomaly and electric polarization in Co4Ta2O9 to spin fluctuation and domain effect.

Compared with HLA-DQB1*03:03:02:01, HLA-DQB1*03:03:08 and DQB1*03:03:13 have 330 G>C and 349 T>C changes, respectively.

Microcrystalline silicon films (μc-Si:H) were deposited on stainless steel substrates by bias-assisted hot-wire chemical vapor deposition. The effect of substrate bias and substrate temperature on the crystallinity of μc-Si:H films was studied by Raman spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy. The results show that both the Raman peak position and the crystalline fraction of the μc-Si:H films deposited at 200 °C were obviously improved by introducing −800 V substrate bias. The films deposited at 200 °C with −800 V substrate bias show strongly sharpened Si (111) peak together with Si (220) and Si (311) peaks, which was different from a weak Si (111) peak for those deposited without substrate bias. By increasing the substrate temperature from 200 to 300 °C, while keeping the substrate bias at −800 V, the crystallinity of the silicon films was further improved, and μc-Si:H films with crystalline fraction of 74 % was obtained.

In this work, rapid thermal annealing (RTA) was employed to crystallize the amorphous silicon films deposited by hot-wire chemical vapor deposition. The influence of annealing temperature on structural and electrical properties was studied by Raman spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and temperature-dependent conductivity measurement. The results show that the amorphous silicon films can be successfully crystallized by RTA in a very short time. The crystallinity and electrical properties of the poly-Si films was greatly improved as the RTA temperature increasing. When the temperature higher than 900 °C, the poly-Si films obtained the crystalline fraction above 95 %, and the hydrogen atoms almost disappeared in the poly-Si films. At the temperature of 1,100 °C, polycrystalline silicon films with conductivity of 16.4 S cm−1 is obtained, which is seven orders in magnitude higher than that of the film annealed at 700 °C.

A series of (La1−xGdx)1.4Ca1.6Mn2O7 (x=0–0.1) compounds were prepared by solid state reaction. With the increase of Gd content, Curie temperature decreases from 259 K to 192 K. These compounds show constant magnetic entropy changes (ΔSM) of 3.0–3.1 J/kg K in the field of 1 T. In their composite materials, a plateau in ΔSM with enhanced refrigerant capacity can be obtained, indicating that they are advantageous for an Ericsson refrigeration cycle. In addition, they have other advantages such as negligible magnetic hysteresis, small eddy loss, and high chemical stability. These properties make (La1−xGdx)1.4Ca1.6Mn2O7 good candidate for the practical magnetic refrigeration.

HLA-C*08:128 shows a substitution C to T at position 704 when compared to HLA-C*08:01:01.

A first-order-like resistivity hysteresis is induced by a subtle structural transition under hydrostatic pressure in the topological nodal-line superconductor PbTaSe$_2$. This structure transition is quickly suppressed to zero at pressure $\sim$0.25 GPa. As a result, superconductivity shows a marked suppression, accompanied with fundamental changes in the magnetoresistance and Hall resistivity, suggesting a Lifshitz transition around $\sim$0.25 GPa. The first principles calculations show that the spin-orbit interactions partially gap out the Dirac nodal line around $K$ point in the Brillouin zone upon applying a small pressure, whilst the Dirac states around $H$ point are completely destroyed. The calculations further reveal a second structural phase transition under a pressure as high as $\sim$30 GPa, through which a transition from a topologically nontrivial phase to a trivial phase is uncovered, with a superconducting dome emerging under this high-pressure phase., Comment: 6 pages; 6 figures

Series of Dy(Co 1− x Mn x ) 2 alloys ( x = 0, 0.02, 0.04, 0.06, 0.08, and 0.1) have been prepared by arc-melting method. All samples crystallize in single phase with C15 cubic MgCu 2 -type structure. The nature of phase transition was determined by the results of Arrott plots and Ac susceptibility, and no first order phase transition was observed for samples with x ⩾ 0.02. With the increase of Mn content, Curie temperature increases linearly, while the calculated magnetic entropy change shows an obvious decrease with a broader peak, which could be explained by the change of phase transition type.

HLA-DRB1*08:69 has one nucleotide change from HLA-DRB1*08:03:02 at position 262 GA.

In this work, we studied the phase transitions and exchange bias of Ni50−xMn36Sn14Tx (T = Pd, Pt; x = 0, 1, 2, 3) alloys. An intermartensitic transition (IMT), not observed in Ni50Mn36Sn14 alloy, was induced by the proper application of negative chemical pressure by Pd(Pt) doping in Ni50−xMn36Sn14Tx (T = Pd, Pt) alloys. IMT weakened and was suppressed with the increase of applied field; it also disappeared with further increase of Pd(Pt) content (x = 3 for Pd and x = 2 for Pt). Another striking result is that exchange bias effect, ascribed to the percolating ferromagnetic domains coexisting with spin glass phase, is notably enhanced by nonmagnetic Pd(Pt) addition. The increase of unidirectional anisotropy by the addition of Pd(Pt) impurities with strong spin-orbit coupling was explained by Dzyaloshinsky-Moriya interactions in spin glass phase.

The effect of Co substitution for Ni in Mn-rich Mn 2 Ni 1.64− x Co x Sn 0.36 ferromagnetic shape memory alloys has been studied. With increasing Co content, the martensitic transformation temperatures decrease due to the decrease in valence electron concentration. The great enhancements of magnetization and Curie temperature by Co doping could be attributed to the strong Co–Mn interaction, changing Mn–Mn coupling from antiferromagnetic to ferromagnetic. In the composition range of 0.08 ⩽ x ⩽ 0.24 , large magnetization changes and large magnetic entropy changes are observed with martensitic transformation.

HLA-DQB1*03:181 has one nucleotide change from HLA-DQB1*03:05:01 at position 470CG.

HLA-B*27:147 differs from HLA-B*27:04:01 by a single nucleotide substitution at position 523 C>G.

HLA-DQB1*05:15 differs from DQB1*05:03:01:01 by a single nucleotide substitution at codon 80 (AGA>AAA).

Series of Nb poor Finemet type alloys were fabricated by substitution of Nb by Al for the first time, and soft magnetic properties of them have been researched by using permeability spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction. It is found that with 0·5 at.-% substitution of Nb by Al, the initial permeability is improved drastically, and the relaxation frequency is enhanced as well, and the loss factor reduces to a very low value of the order of 10−6 in the low frequency range compared to conventional Finemet. The improved soft magnetic properties are related to the lower crystalline anisotropy of FeSiAl compared to FeSi and the proper crystalline volume fraction. This research shows that the substitution of Nb by Al in Nb poor Finemet type alloys can bear ultrasoft magnetic properties at less cost.

The general meshless local Petrov-Galerkin (MLPG) weak forms of the displacement and traction boundary integral equations (BIEs) are presented for solids undergoing small deformations. Using the directly derived non-hyper-singular integral equations for displacement gradients, simple and straight-forward derivations of weakly singular traction BIEs for solids undergoing small deformations are also presented. As a framework for meshless approaches, the MLPG weak forms provide the most general basis for the numerical solution of the non-hyper-singular displacement and traction BIEs. By employing the various types of test functions, several types of MLPG/BIEs are formulated. Numerical examples show that the present methods are very promising, especially for solving the elastic problems in which the singularities in displacements, strains, and stresses are of primary concern.
