1. Individually addressed entangling gates in a two-dimensional ion crystal

Abstract

Abstract Two-dimensional (2D) ion crystals may represent a promising path to scale up qubit numbers for ion trap quantum information processing. However, to realize universal quantum computing in this system, individually addressed high-fidelity two-qubit entangling gates still remain challenging due to the inevitable micromotion of ions in a 2D crystal as well as the technical difficulty in 2D addressing. Here we demonstrate two-qubit entangling gates between any ion pairs in a 2D crystal of four ions. We use symmetrically placed crossed acousto-optic deflectors (AODs) to drive Raman transitions and achieve an addressing crosstalk error below 0.1%. We design and demonstrate a gate sequence by alternatingly addressing two target ions, making it compatible with any single-ion addressing techniques without crosstalk from multiple addressing beams. We further examine the gate performance versus the micromotion amplitude of the ions and show that its effect can be compensated by a recalibration of the laser intensity without degrading the gate fidelity. Our work paves the way for ion trap quantum computing with hundreds to thousands of qubits on a 2D ion crystal.

Abstract Generating ion-photon entanglement is a crucial step for scalable trapped-ion quantum networks. To avoid the crosstalk on memory qubits carrying quantum information, it is common to use a different ion species for ion-photon entanglement generation such that the scattered photons are far off-resonant for the memory qubits. However, such a dual-species scheme can be subject to inefficient sympathetic cooling due to the mass mismatch of the ions. Here we demonstrate a trapped-ion quantum network node in the dual-type qubit scheme where two types of qubits are encoded in the S and F hyperfine structure levels of 171Yb+ ions. We generate ion photon entanglement for the S-qubit in a typical timescale of hundreds of milliseconds, and verify its small crosstalk on a nearby F-qubit with coherence time above seconds. Our work demonstrates an enabling function of the dual-type qubit scheme for scalable quantum networks.

Abstract

The trapped-ion quantum simulator has demonstrated qualitative properties of different physical models for up to tens of ions. In particular, a linear ion chain naturally hosts long-range Ising interactions under the laser driving, which has been used for various phenomena, such as quantum phase transition, localization, thermalization, and information propagation. For near-term practical usage, a central task is to find more quantitative applications of the noisy quantum simulators that are robust to small errors in the parameters. Here we report the quantum simulation of a long-range transverse-field Ising model using up to 61 ions and probe the critical behavior of its quantum phase transition through the Kibble-Zurek mechanism. By calibrating and verifying the coupling coefficients, we realize the same model for increasing ion numbers, so as to extract a critical exponent free of the finite-size effect. For ferromagnetic interaction, our experimental result agrees with the previous numerical prediction. As for the antiferromagnetic case, signals are too weak to fit a critical exponent due to the frustration in the interaction, but still consistent with the theory.

Abstract

Non-Hermitian systems generically have complex energies, which may host topological structures, such as links or knots. While there has been great progress in experimentally engineering non-Hermitian models in quantum simulators, it remains a significant challenge to experimentally probe complex energies in these systems, thereby making it difficult to directly diagnose complex-energy topology. Here, we experimentally realize a two-band non-Hermitian model with a single trapped ion whose complex eigenenergies exhibit the unlink, unknot or Hopf link topological structures. Based on non-Hermitian absorption spectroscopy, we couple one system level to an auxiliary level through a laser beam and then experimentally measure the population of the ion on the auxiliary level after a long period of time. Complex eigenenergies are then extracted, illustrating the unlink, unknot or Hopf link topological structure. Our work demonstrates that complex energies can be experimentally measured in quantum simulators via non-Hermitian absorption spectroscopy, thereby opening the door for exploring various complex-energy properties in non-Hermitian quantum systems, such as trapped ions, cold atoms, superconducting circuits or solid-state spin systems., 12 pages, 8 figures

Abstract

Quantum simulation of 1D relativistic quantum mechanics has been achieved in well-controlled systems like trapped ions, but properties like spin dynamics and response to external magnetic fields that appear only in higher dimensions remain unexplored. Here we simulate the dynamics of a 2D Weyl particle. We show the linear dispersion relation of the free particle and the discrete Landau levels in a magnetic field, and we explicitly measure the spatial and spin dynamics from which the conservation of helicity and properties of antiparticles can be verified. Our work extends the application of an ion trap quantum simulator in particle physics with the additional spatial and spin degrees of freedom.

Abstract

The Jaynes-Cummings-Hubbard (JCH) model is a fundamental many-body model for light-matter interaction. As a leading platform for quantum simulation, the trapped ion system has realized the JCH model for two to three ions. Here, we report the quantum simulation of the JCH model using up to 32 ions. We verify the simulation results even for large ion numbers by engineering low excitations and thus low effective dimensions; then we extend to 32 excitations for an effective dimension of 2^{77}, which is difficult for classical computers. By regarding the phonon modes as baths, we explore Markovian or non-Markovian spin dynamics in different parameter regimes of the JCH model, similar to quantum emitters in a structured photonic environment. We further examine the dependence of the non-Markovian dynamics on the effective Hilbert space dimension. Our Letter demonstrates the trapped ion system as a powerful quantum simulator for many-body physics and open quantum systems.

Abstract

Quantum simulation provides important tools in studying strongly correlated many-body systems with controllable parameters. As a hybrid of two fundamental models in quantum optics and in condensed matter physics, the Rabi-Hubbard model demonstrates rich physics through the competition between local spin-boson interactions and long-range boson hopping. Here we report an experimental realization of the Rabi-Hubbard model using up to $16$ trapped ions and present a controlled study of its equilibrium properties and quantum dynamics. We observe the ground-state quantum phase transition by slowly quenching the coupling strength, and measure the quantum dynamical evolution in various parameter regimes. With the magnetization and the spin-spin correlation as probes, we verify the prediction of the model Hamiltonian by comparing theoretical results in small system sizes with experimental observations. For larger-size systems of $16$ ions and $16$ phonon modes, the effective Hilbert space dimension exceeds $2^{57}$, whose dynamics is intractable for classical supercomputers., 6 pages, 3 figures + 13 pages, 10 figures

Abstract

Trapped ions constitute one of the most promising systems for implementing quantum computing and networking. For large-scale ion-trap-based quantum computers and networks, it is critical to have two types of qubits, one for computation and storage, while the other for auxiliary operations like runtime qubit detection, sympathetic cooling, and repetitive entanglement generation through photon links. Dual-type qubits have previously been realized in hybrid systems using two ion species, which, however, introduces significant experimental challenges for laser setup, gate operations as well as the control of the fraction and positioning of each qubit type within an ion crystal. Here we solve these problems by implementing two coherently-convertible qubit types using the same ion species. We encode the qubits into two pairs of clock states of the 171Yb+ ions, and achieve fast and high-fidelity conversion between the two types using narrow-band lasers. We further demonstrate that operations on one qubit type, including sympathetic laser cooling, gates and qubit detection, have crosstalk errors less than 0.03% on the other type, well below the error threshold for fault-tolerant quantum computing. Abstract

The solid-liquid phase transition (melting) is a long-standing problem for which a complete understanding is challenging because of the strong many-body interactions. A trapped-ion Wigner crystal is a suitable platform for a controlled study of this phase transition with its unprecedented resolution of individual atomic ions. Here we study the melting dynamics of a linear chain of $^{174}\mathrm{Yb}^{+}$ ions, which is initially cooled to the Doppler temperature and is then periodically heated and detected by a focused laser beam. We achieve controlled melting of the ion chain and observe unusual partial melting of long chains (coexistence of solid and liquid phases). We also observe a counterintuitive nonuniform energy distribution over the chain under localized heating. These results are further confirmed by molecular dynamics simulations to rule out other heating mechanisms.

Abstract

The healing of grafted seedlings is to complete the process of callus induction, differentiation and union of stock and scion. This stage is important to ensure the survival of grafted seedlings, especially for scion since the roots of scion will be removed in the vast majority grafting. The scion does not form the same type of organization with the rootstock. The two conducting tissues are not uniformly connected; thus, the scion and rootstock do not transport water and nutrients through the roots. To prevent this problem, suitable relative humidity and temperature must be provided to ensure the scion will not wilt and the healing process of grafted seedlings is properly completed. Beijing Jingpeng International Hi-Tech Corporation developed a healing room for grafted seedlings, which features an intelligent environment control system, cycle ventilation equipment, spray humidification system, CO2 fertilization equipment, lighting system, temperature control system, seedling frame, and perimeter protection. The healing room can provide a suitable artificial environment for newly grafted vegetable seedlings. The environment can be controlled based on the healing requirements of grafted seedlings through automatic control of artificial climate, including relative humidity, temperature, light, wind speed, and other environmental factors. Providing such an environment can promote callus growth, improve the survival rate of grafted seedlings, and increase the mass production of seedlings.

The material prescription, potential distribution, contamination trend and surface insulating properties under contamination and lightning conditions for the ceramic long rod insulator are investigated. The surface contamination trend of the ceramic long rod insulator can be fitted to an exponential function in a low rainfall area. Potential distribution calculation by three-dimensional finite element method shows that over 50% operating voltage concentrates on the single unit of high-voltage polarity for the long rod insulator string, which is more uneven in comparison with the disc ceramic insulator string. Five-hundred kilovolt full-scale artificial pollution test demonstrates that the contamination flashover voltage of the ceramic long rod insulator has a negative exponential relationship with equivalent salt deposit density and a linear relation with string length. The phase constitutions of Ti–35·4Nb and Ti–35·4Nb–0·05C (wt-%) alloys with different heat treatments were detected using X-ray diffraction experiments. Compressive properties were tested using a 100 kN MTS testing machine for the two alloys. It was shown that the phases of the as sintered alloys consist of α and β phases. As sintered Ti–35·4Nb–0·05C alloy contains less β phase and more α phase compared with as sintered Ti–35·4Nb alloy. The phases of as quenched alloys are composed of α″ and βM phases. As quenched Ti–35·4Nb–0·05C alloy has more α″ phase and less βM phase compared with as quenched Ti–35·4Nb alloy. As quenched Ti–35·4Nb–0·05C alloy has a lower elastic modulus and yield stress than as quenched Ti–35·4Nb alloy, which is resulted of more α″ phase in as quenched Ti–35·4Nb–0·05C alloy. The internal friction of Ti-35.4Nb-0.05C (wt.%) was investigated using a dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA) Q800 from TA Instruments. It has been shown that a relaxational peak is observed in the water-quenched Ti-35.4-Nb-0.05C alloy on tanδ-temperature curve. The activation energy and pre-exponential factor of the peak are Hq=1.82±0.1 eV and τ0q=1.7×10-19±1s, respectively. The activation energy value is a little larger than that of the water-quenched Ti-35.4-Nb alloy. The peak height is decreased compared with the water-quenched Ti-35.4-Nb alloy.

Abstract

Binary Fe-Al alloy ingots with 29 at. %Al were prepared with commercially pure Fe and Al in a vacuum induction furnace. The specimens used in the internal friction measurement were cut using an electric sparkle machine from the ingots into a dimension 68×1.7×0.9 mm3. The heat treatment was performed in such regimes as heating temperature 900°C and holding time 1 hour in an argon atmosphere followed by furnace cooling or air cooling. The air-cooled samples were then aged at 350°C for different time to achieve the different degree of disorder. The internal fiction-temperature spectra of the air-cooled Fe71Al29alloy were measured during both heating and cooling using a computer-controlled automatic inverted torsion pendulum through free-decay and forced vibration methods. It has been found that three internal friction peaks appear during heating at 180°C termed as P1, 340°C termed as P2 and 510°C termed as P3 in air-cooled specimens, respectively. P1 and P2 peaks disappear and P3 is retained during cooling. XRD results show that the air-cooled Fe71Al29alloy is disordered and the furnace-cooled specimen possesses ordered structures. The air-cooled specimen presents similar diffraction peaks to the furnace-cooled specimen after it is heated to 650°C and then in-situ cooled to room temperature. Ageing has great influence on the P1 and P2 peaks for the air-cooled Fe71Al29alloy. The height of P1 and P2 peaks is decreased with increasing aging time, which is due to the reduction in the disorder degree of the air-cooled specimen.

The static friction characteristic was investigated in the case of litchi picker’s clamp heads made of PVC plastic, silicone and rubber, carved with textures of circular, sawtooth, plain and grid, when in contact with litchi stalks. An experimental device was developed and used to measure the static coefficient of friction between a flat surface and cylinder. Clamp heads made of rubber were found to have the biggest static coefficient of friction, and clamp heads made of PVC plastic were found to have the smallest static coefficient of friction. Clamp heads carved with circular texture were found to have the biggest static coefficient of friction, and clamp heads carved with grid texture were found to have the smallest static coefficient of friction. And for specimens of different sizes, the bigger the diameter, the bigger the static coefficient of friction. The low frequency damping capacity of a strained Fe-31.36Mn-3.15Si (wt.%) alloy has been investigated using a multifunctional internal friction apparatus (MFIFA) through the free decay and forced vibration method. An internal friction peak appears on the internal friction-temperature curves at about 280°C during heating from room temperature to 400 °C and the peak height is drastically reduced during subsequent in situ cooling. The peak height increases with increasing T/f. It has been suggested that the internal friction peak is resulted from the e → γ transformation during heating.

Abstract

A new method of synthesizing disodium alkyl polyglucoside citrate surfactant has been reported in the paper, in which citric acid anhydride was firstly prepared, and then reacted with alkyl polyglucoside to obtain ester. The structures of products were indicated by infrared spectroscopy. Moreover, the surface activities of raw materials and their corresponding products were investigated. The results show that products exhibit low surface tension in 28 mN/m. Comparing with raw materials, the disodium alkyl polyglucoside citrate surfactants possess better emulsification stabilities to oil acid, good foam abilities and excellent hard water-resistant properties.

Abstract

Low-frequency internal friction investigation of reverse martensitic transformation in oil-quenched Ni64Al36 alloy has been carried out using a multifunctional internal friction apparatus from room temperature to 400 °C and additionally differential scanning calorimetry and X-ray diffraction experiments were also completed. It has been shown that an internal friction peak presents at about 220 °C in the internal friction–temperature curve during heating for the oil-quenched Ni64Al36 alloy but not for the furnace-cooled Ni64Al36 alloy. The peak still appears during cooling and the peak temperature shifts to lower temperature. The changes of the peak temperature positions cannot be visibly observed when the vibration frequency is changed. The peak heights increase with decreasing vibration frequency and increasing heating rate, being linearly directly proportional to It has been suggested that the internal friction peak results from reverse martensitic transformation of L10 γ during heating and originates from martensitic transformation of γ L10 during the subsequent cooling process. Abstract

A synthetic process of Disodium of Mono-Alkyl polyoxyethylene Ether Citrate was developed in this paper. The structure of intermediate and products were indicated by infrared spectroscopy. The physico-chemical properties of aqueous solution of products were also investigated. The results show that products are excellent emulsifiers, with the low surface tension in 27–30 mN/m and good wetting power, and possess different foaming behavior in hard water and distilled water.

Abstract

We investigated the associations between vascular endothelial growth factors (VEGF), endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS), and ATP-binding cassette subfamily B member 1 transporter (ABCB1) polymorphisms and the risk of osteonecrosis of the femoral head (ONFH). Published studies were reviewed and analyzed based on predefined selection criteria. The strength of the association between VEGF, eNOS, and ABCB1 polymorphisms and ONFH risk was evaluated based on the odds ratio with corresponding 95%CIs. Meta-analysis was performed using the Comprehensive Meta-analysis 2.0 software. A total of 135 relevant articles were retrieved, of which 10 studies met the selection criteria, and included a total of 1025 patients with ONFH and 1730 healthy controls. The meta-analysis study results revealed that the VEGF rs2010963 G>C polymorphism increased the risk of ONFH, while the VEGF rs2010963 G>C and ABCB1 rs1045642 C>T polymorphisms increased the risk of ONFH under the allele model. In conclusion, the VEGF, eNOS, and ABCB1 polymorphisms may contribute to ONFH, but further studies including larger sample sizes are needed to confirm the results.

Abstract

Hydroxyapatite (HA)–316L stainless steel composite biomaterials with different 316L stainless steel fibre volume fraction in the composite were fabricated by hot pressing and sintering at elevated temperature. 316L stainless steel fibres were enwrapped in the HA matrix with integration being very tight. Metallographic microscope, SEM and EDAX analysis were carried out in order to investigate the microstructure in the materials and the combination interface between HA and 316L stainless steel fibre was observed in detail. While the composite contained 20 vol.-%316L stainless steel fibre, the bending strength and the compressive strength are equal to ∼200 MPa and 400 MPa, respectively. The research displayed that mechanical properties increase with the increase in volume of the 316L stainless steel fibres, but decrease with increasing diameter and mean length of the fibres. Abstract

In this study, we quantitatively investigate the influence of phosphor to the thermal properties of white LEDs. We find that although the junction temperature of white LEDs is higher than corresponding blue LEDs, due to the high thermal conductivity of the phosphor, it will help to improve the thermal dissipation and lower the thermal resistance of white LEDs. Based on this, a heat transfer model has been proposed, which has also been confirmed by simulation analysis. While for white LEDs with remote phosphors, although the lower junction temperature can help to improve performance and reliability, the thermal resistance has not been improved. The heat generated by phosphors is isolated by the silicone and this would increase the phosphor temperature and lead to a different degradation mechanism after a long time stress.

Abstract

Sea cucumber (Apostichopus japonicus) is an ecologically and economically important species in East and South-East Asia. This project aimed to identify large numbers of gene-associated markers and differentially expressed genes (DEGs) after lipopolysaccharides (LPS) challenge in A. japonicus using high-throughput transcriptome sequencing. A total of 162 million high-quality reads of 174 million raw reads were obtained by deep sequencing using Illumina HiSeq TM 2000 platform. Assembly of these reads generated 94 704 unigenes, with read length ranging from 200 to 16 153 bp (average length of 810 bp). A total of 36 005 were identified as coding sequences (CDSs), 32 479 of which were successfully annotated. Based on the assembly transcriptome, we identified 142 511 high-quality single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs). Among them, 33 775, 63 120 and 45 616 were located in sequences without predicted CDS (non-CDSs), CDSs and untranslated regions (UTRs), respectively. These putative SNPs included 82 664 transitions and 59 847 transversions. Totally, 89 375 (59.1%) were distributed in 15 473 known genes. A total of 6417 microsatellites were detected in 5970 unigenes, 3216 of which were annotated and 2481 were successfully subjected for primer design. The numbers of simple sequence repeats (SSRs) identified in non-CDSs, CDSs and UTRs were 2367, 2316 and 1734. These potential SNPs and SSRs are expected to provide abundant resources for genetic, evolutionary and ecological studies in sea cucumber. Transcriptome comparison revealed 1330, 1347 and 1291 DEGs in the coelomocytes of A. japonicus at 4 h, 24 h and 72 h after LPS challenge, respectively. Approximately 58.4% (1802) of total DEGs have been successfully annotated.

Abstract

Wood dust exposure has been found to be an occupational hazard, being linked to an enhanced incidence of various neoplasias. Here we performed an experiment to evaluate the ability of solvent extracts of natural woods to induce chromosome aberrations in respiratory cells in culture. Human embryonic lung cells, MRC-5, grown in Dulbecco's medium were exposed to various concentrations of the dust extracts of pesticide-free (untreated) beech, oak and pine woods. Three concentrations per extract with and without metabolic activation (S9) and 100 metaphase cells per dose were examined for possible structural aberrations. Although no dose-dependent activity could be found with any extract in the presence of S9, most aberrations observed were of the chromatid type caused by oak wood. Dose-dependent chromosomal breaks caused by oak and chromatid breaks caused by both beech and oak were observed in the absence of S9. These data might support the early hypothesis that hard wood dust per se contains some in vivo genotoxic and thus possibly carcinogenic components.

The temporal and spatial distributions of Cu, Pb, Zn, and Cd in surface water of the Liaodong Bay were studied based on samples collected at 16 sites in June and August from 2001 to 2005. The temporal distribution showed decreasing trends. The concentrations of dissolved metals in the Liaodong Bay were 4.34, 3.21, 31.54, and 0.995 mug/L for Cu, Pb, Zn, and Cd, respectively. Cu and Pb were scattered near the estuaries, and Zn and Cd were mainly found near the Wuli River. Rivers were the main metals pollution sources in the Bay.

Abstract

The magnetomechanical hysteresis damping of Fe-Al alloys has been investigated using a computer-controlled automatic inverted torsion pendulum. It has been shown that Al content and heat treatment have a significant effect on the magnetomechanical hysteresis damping of the alloys. The Fe-10.5 (at.%)Al alloy has an optimal damping capacity after it was air-cooled from 900°C and the Fe-Al alloys with 29(at.)%Al and 38(at.)%Al exhibit rather low damping capacity after undergoing the same heat treatment because of decreasing magnetism. The water-quenched or as-cast specimens cannot form high damping due to high internal stress. An appropriate heating temperature in heat treatments is essential to obtain high damping.

Abstract

155 cases of chronic pancreatitis in PUMC hospital from 1952 to 1990 were investigated. Because endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) and exocrine pancreatic function tests have been used since 1974, the diagnostic rate of chronic pancreatitis during 1974-1990 is 6.6 fold as that during 1952-1974. The pancreatic duct in 97 cases among 105 cases with chronic pancreatitis examined by ERCP was compared with CT and ultrasonography in diagnosis of chronic pancreatitis. The accuracy of diagnosis for ERCP is 84.8%, and is significantly higher than that for CT (56.0%, P0.01) and ultrasonography (37.8%, P0.001). The detective rate of abnormal pancreatic duct for ERCP is 91.4%, and is also significantly higher than that for CT (80.0%) and ultrasonography (79.7%, P0.05). These data indicated that the clinical features of chronic pancreatitis in China is more related to biliary diseases, rather than alcoholism. BT-PABA test and ultrasonography are valuable screen examinations, and ERCP is credible important examination in diagnosis of chronic pancreatitis.

Abstract

Abstract We search for the radiative decays D + → γρ + and D + → γK *+ using 20.3 fb −1 of e + e − annihilation data collected at the center-of-mass energy s $$ \sqrt{s} $$ = 3.773 GeV by the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII collider. No significant signals are observed, and the upper limits on the branching fractions of D + → γρ + and D + → γK *+ at 90% confidence level are set to be 1.3 × 10 −5 and 1.8 × 10 −5, respectively.

Abstract

The trails problem (self-avoiding path walks) is reconsidered by the conventional series expansion approach. An exact enumeration on the square, triangular and simple cubic lattices is done by computer up to 18, 12 and 11 steps respectively. The more self-consistent and refined results, between the connective constant and the corresponding critical exponent, indicate the possibility of there being a different universality class from that of the self-avoiding walk. An average approach based on Stolz's theorem is proposed which often appears to be smoother and better than the traditional one.

Bond animals with a constraint of a given winding direction on the square lattice are enumerated up to 14 bonds. Numerical evidence further confirms the previous conjecture using the position space renormalisation group approach, that they belong to a new universality class.

Abstract

Abstract Using 7.33 fb −1 of e + e − collision data samples collected with the BESIII detector at center-of-mass energies between 4.128 and 4.226 GeV, we search for the radiative decay D s + → γρ 770 + $$ {D}_s^{+}\to \gamma \rho {(770)}^{+} $$ for the first time. A hint of D s + → γρ 770 + $$ {D}_s^{+}\to \gamma \rho {(770)}^{+} $$ is observed with a statistical significance of 2.5σ. The branching fraction of D s + → γρ 770 + $$ {D}_s^{+}\to \gamma \rho {(770)}^{+} $$ is measured to be (2.2 ± 0.9stat. ± 0.2syst. ) × 10 −4, corresponding to an upper limit of 6.1 × 10 −4 at the 90% confidence level.

Abstract

Abstract Using e + e − collision data collected by the BESIII detector at BEPCII corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 30 fb −1, we measure Born cross sections and effective form factors for the process e + e − → Ξ 0 Ξ ¯ 0 $$ {e}^{+}{e}^{-}\to {\Xi}^0{\overline{\Xi}}^0 $$ at forty-five center-of-mass energies between 3.51 and 4.95 GeV. The dressed cross section is fitted, assuming a power-law function plus a charmonium(-like) state, i.e., ψ(3770), ψ(4040), ψ(4160), ψ(4230), ψ(4360), ψ(4415) or ψ(4660). No significant charmonium(-like) state decaying into Ξ 0 Ξ ¯ 0 $$ {\Xi}^0{\overline{\Xi}}^0 $$ is observed. Upper limits at the 90% confidence level on the product of the branching fraction and the electronic partial width are provided for each decay. In addition, ratios of the Born cross sections and the effective form factors for e + e − → Ξ 0 Ξ ¯ 0 $$ {e}^{+}{e}^{-}\to {\Xi}^0{\overline{\Xi}}^0 $$ and e + e − → Ξ − Ξ ¯ + $$ {e}^{+}{e}^{-}\to {\Xi}^{-}{\overline{\Xi}}^{+} $$ are also presented to test isospin symmetry and the vector meson dominance model.

Abstract The branching fraction of D + → K S 0 π 0 e + ν e $$ {D}^{+}\to {K}_S^0{\pi}^0{e}^{+}{\nu}_e $$ is measured for the first time using 7.93 fb −1 of e + e − annihilation data collected at the center-of-mass energy s $$ \sqrt{s} $$ = 3.773 GeV with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII collider, and is determined to be B D + → K S 0 π 0 e + ν e = 0.881 ± 0.017 stat . ± 0.016 syst . % $$ \mathcal{B}\left({D}^{+}\to {K}_S^0{\pi}^0{e}^{+}{\nu}_e\right)=\left(0.881\pm {0.017}_{\textrm{stat}.}\pm {0.016}_{\textrm{syst}.}\right)\% $$ . Based on an analysis of the D + → K S 0 π 0 e + ν e $$ {D}^{+}\to {K}_S^0{\pi}^0{e}^{+}{\nu}_e $$ decay dynamics, we observe the S-wave and P-wave components with fractions of f S-wave = (6.13 ± 0.27stat. ± 0.30syst. )% and f K ¯ ∗ 892 0 = 93.88 ± 0.27 stat . ± 0.29 syst . % $$ {f}_{{\overline{K}}^{\ast }{(892)}^0}=\left(93.88\pm {0.27}_{\textrm{stat}.}\pm {0.29}_{\textrm{syst}.}\right)\% $$ , respectively. From these results, we obtain the branching fractions B D + → K S 0 π 0 S − wave e + ν e = 5.41 ± 0.35 stat . ± 0.37 syst . × 10 − 4 $$ \mathcal{B}\left({D}^{+}\to {\left({K}_S^0{\pi}^0\right)}_{S-\textrm{wave}}{e}^{+}{\nu}_e\right)=\left(5.41\pm {0.35}_{\textrm{stat}.}\pm {0.37}_{\textrm{syst}.}\right)\times {10}^{-4} $$ and B D + → K ¯ ∗ 892 0 e + ν e = 4.97 ± 0.11 stat . ± 0.12 syst . % $$ \mathcal{B}\left({D}^{+}\to {\overline{K}}^{\ast }{(892)}^0{e}^{+}{\nu}_e\right)=\left(4.97\pm {0.11}_{\textrm{stat}.}\pm {0.12}_{\textrm{syst}.}\right)\% $$ . In addition, the hadronic form-factor ratios of D + → K ¯ ∗ 892 0 e + ν e $$ {D}^{+}\to {\overline{K}}^{\ast }{(892)}^0{e}^{+}{\nu}_e $$ at q 2 = 0, assuming a single-pole dominance parameterization, are determined to be r V = V 0 A 1 0 = 1.43 ± 0.07 stat . ± 0.03 syst . $$ {r}_V=\frac{V(0)}{A_1(0)}=1.43\pm {0.07}_{\textrm{stat}.}\pm {0.03}_{\textrm{syst}.} $$ and r 2 = A 2 0 A 1 0 = 0.72 ± 0.06 stat . ± 0.02 syst . $$ {r}_2=\frac{A_2(0)}{A_1(0)}=0.72\pm {0.06}_{\textrm{stat}.}\pm {0.02}_{\textrm{syst}.} $$ .

Abstract

Abstract Using e + e − annihilation data sets corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 4.5 fb −1, collected with the BESIII detector at center-of-mass energies between 4.600 and 4.699 GeV, we report the first measurements of the absolute branching fractions B Λ c + → p K L 0 $$ \mathcal{B}\left({\Lambda}_c^{+}\to p{K}_L^0\right) $$ = (1.67 ± 0.06 ± 0.04)%, B Λ c + → p K L 0 π + π − $$ \mathcal{B}\left({\Lambda}_c^{+}\to p{K}_L^0{\pi}^{+}{\pi}^{-}\right) $$ = (1.69 ± 0.10 ± 0.05)%, and B Λ c + → p K L 0 π 0 $$ \mathcal{B}\left({\Lambda}_c^{+}\to p{K}_L^0{\pi}^0\right) $$ = (2.02 ± 0.13 ± 0.05)%, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second systematic. Combining with the known branching fractions of Λ c + → p K S 0 $$ {\Lambda}_c^{+}\to p{K}_S^0 $$ , Λ c + → p K S 0 π + π − $$ {\Lambda}_c^{+}\to p{K}_S^0{\pi}^{+}{\pi}^{-} $$ , and Λ c + → p K S 0 π 0 $$ {\Lambda}_c^{+}\to p{K}_S^0{\pi}^0 $$ , we present the first measurements of the K S 0 $$ {K}_S^0 $$ - K L 0 $$ {K}_L^0 $$ asymmetries R Λ c + K S , L 0 X = B Λ c + → K S 0 X − B Λ c + → K L 0 X B Λ c + → K S 0 X + B Λ c + → K L 0 X $$ R\left({\Lambda}_c^{+},{K}_{S,L}^0X\right)=\frac{\mathcal{B}\left({\Lambda}_c^{+}\to {K}_S^0X\right)-\mathcal{B}\left({\Lambda}_c^{+}\to {K}_L^0X\right)}{\mathcal{B}\left({\Lambda}_c^{+}\to {K}_S^0X\right)+\mathcal{B}\left({\Lambda}_c^{+}\to {K}_L^0X\right)} $$ in charmed baryon decays: R Λ c + p K S , L 0 = − 0.025 ± 0.031 $$ R\left({\Lambda}_c^{+},p{K}_{S,L}^0\right)=-0.025\pm 0.031 $$ , R Λ c + p K S , L 0 π + π − = − 0.027 ± 0.048 $$ R\left({\Lambda}_c^{+},p{K}_{S,L}^0{\pi}^{+}{\pi}^{-}\right)=-0.027\pm 0.048 $$ and R Λ c + p K S , L 0 π 0 = − 0.015 ± 0.046 $$ R\left({\Lambda}_c^{+},p{K}_{S,L}^0{\pi}^0\right)=-0.015\pm 0.046 $$ . No significant asymmetries with statistical significance are observed.
