Spiroorthocarbonates (SOCs) exhibit good shrinkage resistance with ring-opening polymerization initiated by a cationic photoinitiator, with potential application in reducing the volume shrinkage by C=C double bond polymerization on three-dimensional (3D) printing. However, SOCs as an additive dealing with volume shrinkage in 3D printing are rarely reported. Moreover, little progress has been made in the kinetics study on its ring-opening polymerization. In this study, we presented an effective strategy to reduce 3D printing volume shrinkage based on SOCs chemistry and systematically studied the ring-opening photopolymerization kinetics. 3,9-diethyl-3,9-bis(allyloxymethyl)-1,5,7,11-tetraoxastetraoxaspiro undecane (DB-TOSU), one kind of SOCs, was adopted as an expanding monomer. Initiated by cationic photoinitiator with sensitizer under 405 nm LED light, the maximum conversion of DB-TOSU is up to 84%. As a volume-control agent for 3D printing, volume shrinkage reduction is 71.2% when adding DB-TOSU into 3D printing resin based on SOCs chemistry. Moreover, the toughness of resin was enhanced. In the 3D printing application test, DB-TOSU displayed a good application prospect owing to its good compatibility with the printing resin and printing accuracy after volume expansion.

Urbanization has been shown to influence the composition and diversity of soil microbial communities. However, the functional response of the soil microbial community to urbanization is not well studied. In this study, we used the Biolog Microplates method to characterize microbial catabolic profiles in Eucalyptus plantations of soil samples from urban, suburban and rural sites in Guangzhou, China. The results showed that there were significant differences in the average well-color development (AWCD) of all carbon sources among the three urban–rural plantations microbial communities, and the Simpson functional diversity index showed significant differences. Soil microbial metabolic activity showed a significantly negative correlation with soil variables (pH, total nitrogen, available Cu, available Zn, total Pb, total Cr and total Cd) except bulk density and organic carbon. Additionally, the three urban–rural plantations microbial communities differed significantly in the metabolic utilization of carbohydrates, phenols, amino acids and amines, however there were no significant differences in the carboxylic acids and polymers. Furthermore, the principal component analysis revealed that the microbial communities of three urban–rural plantations had obviously different metabolic functions. These results revealed that urbanization distinctly decreased soil microbial activities and affected soil microbial function.

To investigate the prevalence of mountain-type zoonotic visceral leishmaniasis (MT-ZVL) in Yangquan City, Shanxi Province from 2015 to 2020, so as to provide the scientific evidence for formulating the MT-ZVL control strategy.The epidemiological data pertaining to MT-ZVL cases in Yangquan City from 2015 to 2020 were collected and descriptively analyzed. A Joinpoint regression model was created to analyze the trend in the MT-ZVL incidence in Yangquan City from 2015 to 2020 using annual percent change (APC). The sandflies surveillance data and the prevalence ofA total of 162 MT-ZVL cases were reported in Yangquan City, Shanxi Province from 2015 to 2020, with annual mean incidence of 1.9/10The prevalence of MT-ZVL appeared a tendency towards a rapid rise in Yangquan City from 2015 to 2020, and systematic interventions are urgently needed for MT-ZVL control.

Excited states of 117Sn have been populated using the fusion-evaporation reaction 114Cd(7Li, 1p3n) at a beam energy of 48[Formula: see text]MeV. A total of nine new transitions have been identified and added into the level scheme of 117Sn. Based on the systematical comparisons with the neighboring Sn isotopes and the configuration-fixed constrained triaxial relativistic mean-field (RMF) calculations, a collective structure and two isomers are proposed to exist in 117Sn. The phenomenon of shape coexistence has been extended to A = 117 in odd-A Sn isotopes for the first time.

The nonsaturating linear magnetoresistance (MR) in graphene has been found for more than ten years, but its origin still lacks a quantitative study. Here, we report magneto-transport properties of monolayer graphene samples grown on silicon carbide. A positive parabolic MR is observed at low magnetic fields, and it is transformed into a large linear MR with increasing field. The observed linear MR is gradually suppressed either by increasing temperature or by increasing annealing time. The slope of the linear MR is proportional to the Hall mobility, and the crossover field, representing a transition from quadratic to linear field dependence, is proportional to the inverse of the Hall mobility. We therefore attribute the linear MR to a classical origin. This classical MR is considered to be controlled by the interaction between carrier and the low-mobility island, and the fraction of the low-mobility island is extracted. The extracted fraction is consistent with the calculated results when the absorbed acceptor is regarded as the main source of the disorder. Our data also can be explained by the effective-medium theory.

The tea geometrid Ectropis grisescens is an important pest of tea plant (Camellia sinensis (L.) O. Kuntze). It feeds on the new leaves and tender stems of tea plants, causing serious damage. The green leaf volatile (Z)-3-hexenol (z3HOL) can effectively activate the defense of tea against E. grisescens in the laboratory. In this study, z3HOL was confirmed to activate the tea mitogen-activated protein kinase and jasmonic acid (JA) burst in the laboratory. We investigated effects of z3HOL on the defense responses of tea plants under field conditions. Our results showed that tea plants exposed to z3HOL showed higher levels of JA and polyphenol oxidase (PPO) and emitted increased quantities of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) compared to non-exposed plants. Less E. grisescens larvae were observed in z3HOL-treated plots and less damage was found in z3HOL-treated plants than control. The number of Apanteles sp. and the parasitism of E. grisescens were also enhanced by z3HOL. These findings indicate that synthetic z3HOL can triggers tea defense responses against E. grisescens in the field, and that it could be used as a chemical elicitor to enhance biological control of tea geometrid in the future.

OBJECTIVE: The key point of anesthesia management in carotid endarterectomy (CEA) is to maintain adequate cerebral perfusion during carotid artery occlusion. Placement of shunt is one of the common surgical methods. This study analyzed the effects of different shunt strategies on cerebral infarction after carotid endarterectomy. METHODS: A total of 443 patients who underwent CEA under general anesthesia within 2 years were divided into imaging group (based on preoperative imaging data as the basis for shunt) and stump pressure group (based on intraoperative stump pressure as the basis for shunt). The preoperative demographic data, past medical history, degree of cervical vascular stenosis, blood pressure at each time point during the perioperative period, vascular blocking time, whether to place the shunt, postoperative hospital stay, cerebral infarction during hospitalization, and other adverse events were collected and compared between the two groups. On this basis, the preoperative and intraoperative conditions with significant differences were matched with propensity scores, and the influence of different shunt strategies on postoperative cerebral infarction was analyzed. RESULTS: In the study, 268 patients in the imaging group and 175 patients in the stump pressure group underwent CEA under general anesthesia. There were statistically significant differences in basic conditions and blood pressure at each time point between the two groups. After matching the propensity scores, 105 patients in each of the two groups were matched. The basic conditions of the patients before surgery and the difference in blood pressure of the two groups at each time point were not statistically significant. There was no significant diffe-rence in the incidence of postoperative cerebral infarction between the two groups (1.9% vs. 1.0%, P>0.999). The intraoperative shunt rate in the imaging group was lower than that in the stump pressure group (0 vs. 22.9%, P < 0.001). The postoperative hospital stay in the imaging group was 8 (7, 8) days, which was longer than the stump pressure group 5 (4, 6) days (P < 0.001). CONCLUSION: The rate of the shunt was lower according to preoperative imaging examination than that according to the residual pressure in our hospital. There is no significant difference in the incidence of cerebral infarction during the postoperative hospital stay. The effect of different shunt strategies on cerebral infarction needs further study.

To investigate the current distribution of ticks and predict the suitable habitats of ticks in the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration in 2017, so as to provide insights into tick control and management of tick-borne diseases in these areas.All publications pertaining to tick and pathogen distribution in the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration were retrieved, and the geographical location of tick distribution was extracted. The effects of 19 climatic factors on the distribution of ticks were examined using the jackknife method, including the mean temperature of the wettest quarter, precipitation of the coldest quarter, mean temperature of the driest quarter, maximum temperature of the warmest month, precipitation of the driest month, minimal temperature of the coldest month, annual precipitation, mean daily temperature range, precipitation seasonality, annual temperature range, temperature seasonality, annual mean temperature, mean temperature of the warmest quarter, precipitation of the wettest quarter, isothermality, mean temperature of the coldest quarter, precipitation of the wettest month, precipitation of the driest quarter and precipitation of the warmest quarter. The distribution of ticks was analyzed in 2020 using the maximum entropy (MaxEnt) model, and the potential suitable habitats of ticks were predicted in 2070 using the MaxEnt model based on climatic data.A total of 380 Chinese and English literatures were retrieved, and 148 tick distribution sites were extracted, with 135 sites included in the subsequent analysis. There were 7 genera (Multiple tick species are widespread in the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration, and the future climate changes may lead to expansion of tick distribution in these areas.

High-spin states in $^{84}\mathrm{Rb}$ have been studied using the $^{76}\mathrm{Ge}(^{11}\mathrm{B}$, $3n$) reaction at a beam energy of 36 MeV. A pair of nearly degenerate positive-parity doublet bands have been extended and interpreted as candidate chiral doublet bands based on their experimental properties. This interpretation is supported by the triaxial relativistic mean-field theory and the triaxial particle-rotor model calculations. The systematic comparison of the candidate chiral bands in the $A\ensuremath{\approx}80$ mass region are also discussed. This work is the first observation of candidate chiral doublet bands in $Z=37$ Rb isotopes and extends the boundaries of the chiral nuclei in the $A\ensuremath{\approx}80$ mass region.

This study aimed to investigate the roles of hsa_circRNA_103801 in the progression of osteosarcoma (OS) cells. Quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR) was used to detect the expression level of circRNA_103801 in OS cells. Cell count kit-8 and Transwell migration and invasion assays were employed to detect the proliferation, migration, and invasion abilities of OS cells. The effects of circRNA_103801 on the apoptosis of OS cells were identified by flow cytometry. The binding relationship between circRNA_103801 and miR-338-3p was verified by bioinformatics analysis. MiR-338-3p level in OS cell lines was detected by RT-qPCR. Additionally, Western blotting was utilized to detect the expression levels of HIF-1, Rap1, PI3K, and Akt in OS cells. The results showed that the expression level of circRNA_103801 was significantly up-regulated in OS patients' tissues. Inhibiting the expression level of circRNA_103801 could attenuate the proliferation, migration, and invasion abilities of OS cells. In addition, the down-regulated expression level of circRNA_103801 could induce cell apoptosis. The results of the luciferase reporter assay suggested that circRNA_103801 could be combined with miR-338-3p, and the RT-qPCR revealed that the miR-338-3p level in OS cells after knockdown of circRNA_103801 was elevated compared with the control group. The results of Western blotting suggested that the expression levels of HIF-1, Rap1, PI3K, and Akt were elevated in OS cells. In conclusion, the circRNA_103801-miR-3388-3p-HIF-1/Rap1/PI3K-Akt pathway could be a therapeutic target of OS.

Osteosarcoma (OS) is an adolescent idiopathic malignancy with a poor prognosis. Accumulating evidence has verified that long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) were implicated in the initiation and development of various tumors. We aimed to clarify the functions and underlying mechanism of lncRNA PCAT-1 in OS progression.RT-qPCR was performed to examine the relative expressions of PCAT-1, miR-508-3p and ZEB1 in OS tissues or cells. The proliferation capacities of OS cells with different transfection were detected by CCK-8 assays. Transwell assays were carried out to determine the functions of PCAT-1 and miR-508-3p in OS cell migration and invasion. Moreover, bioinformatical analysis and Luciferase reporter assay were applied to verify the association between PCAT-1 and miR-508-3p, miR-508-3p and ZEB1.Data of current study revealed that PCAT-1 was markedly upregulated in OS, which indicated poor prognosis of OS patients. CCK-8 and transwell assays indicated that PCAT-1 upregulation could promote OS cell proliferation, invasion and migration. Additionally, we found that miR-508-3p was a direct target of PCAT-1, and PCAT-1 regulated the development of OS via decreasing miR-508-3p and activating its target gene ZEB1.All data demonstrated that PCAT-1 promoted OS progression, and miR-508-3p/ZEB1 axis was implicated in the functional roles of PCAT-1 in OS, suggesting that PCAT-1/miR-508-3p/ZEB1 might serve as candidate therapeutic targets for OS patients.

During the Operation and Maintenance (O&M) management phase of urban infrastructures, the fragmented data and discrete information resource cannot meet the multiple and informational application requirements of O&M. Based on lifecycle management theory, this paper proposes a lifecycle O&M platform framework for urban infrastructure by utilizing BIM, AI, IoT, micro-services and other innovative technologies. The core elements of the platform are analyzed in the aspect of data layer, model layer, and function layer and then key technologies such as BIM, AI, and IoT are deeply studied. Finally, the effectiveness and feasibility of the platform are verified by handling typical scenarios.

Bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) is one of the most common chronic lung diseases in infants, but the ways to prevent and treat BPD are still very limited. We tried to find an effective method for treating BPD by studying the effect of fibroblast growth factor 18 (FGF18) on hyperoxia-induced lung injury in mice.We placed newborn mice in high-oxygen environment (60-70%) and collected mouse lung tissue for histological examination at 3, 7, 14 and 21 days after birth. The correlation between FGF18 and BPD was studied by analyzing the expression of FGF18 in mouse lung tissue. In addition, we used exogenous FGF18 to stimulate primary mouse type II alveolar epithelial cells (AECs II), and detected changes in oxidative stress, inflammation and NF-κB signaling pathway activity of AECs II to analyze the effects of FGF18 on AECs II.From the 7th day after the birth of the mouse, the lung tissue of the hyperoxia-induced mice suffered significant lung injury relative to the control group. The expression of FGF18 in lung tissue induced by hyperoxia was lower than that in the control group. Cell viability of AECs II stimulated by exogenous FGF18 increased, and FGF18 also reduced oxidative stress and inflammation levels of AECs II and inhibited the AECs II injury caused by hyperoxia. NF-κB signaling pathway activity in hyperoxia-induced lung increased, while exogenous FGF18 could reduce the expression and phosphorylation of NF-κB p65 in AECs II.Hyperoxia-induced lung injury was accompanied by a decrease in FGF18. FGF18 can reduce oxidative stress and inflammation levels of AECs II by inhibiting the NF-κB signaling pathway, thereby reducing hyperoxia-induced cell injury.

Myocardial cell apoptosis is an important pathologic basis of ischemia-reperfusion injury (I/R). PI3K/Akt signaling pathway involves in cell growth, survival, and apoptosis regulation, thus playing an important role in the protection of I/R injury. PTEN is a negative regulatory factor of PI3K/Akt signaling pathway. This study established rat I/R injury model after AMI and myocardial cell I/R injury model to explore the regulatory role of PTEN-PI3K/Akt signaling pathway in myocardial I/R injury in vivo and in vitro.Rat myocardial I/R injury model was established. PTEN and p-Akt expressions in myocardial tissue were compared. H9C2 cells were incubated in I/R condition for 12 h, followed by reoxygenation for 12 h. H9C2 cells were divided into three groups, including I/R+pSicoR-Blank, I/R+pSicoR-PTEN, and I/R+pSicoR-PTEN+VO-Ohpic. PTEN, p-Akt, Bcl-2, and Bax expressions were detected. Cell apoptosis was measured by flow cytometry.PTEN expression significantly increased, while p-Akt level markedly declined in myocardial tissue in I/R group compared with Sham group. Temporary PTEN downregulation and p-Akt elevation appeared at 2 h after I/R. I/R treatment markedly enhanced PTEN and Bax expressions, increased cell apoptosis, and reduced p-Akt and Bcl-2 levels. PTEN overexpression significantly enhanced Bax expression and cell apoptosis, while declined p-Akt and Bcl-2 in H9C2 after I/R. PTEN inhibited by VO-Ohpic markedly downregulated p-Akt and Bcl-2 expressions, whereas reduced Bax level and cell apoptosis.The overexpression of PTEN aggravated myocardial cell apoptosis after I/R. The blockage of PTEN enhanced PI3K/Akt signaling pathway and attenuated cell apoptosis induced by I/R.

A method is presented to control the size of primary Cu6Sn5 in ball grid array (BGA) joints while keeping all other microstructural features near-constant, enabling a direct study of the size of primary Cu6Sn5 on impact properties. For Sn-2Cu/Cu BGA joints, it is shown that larger primary Cu6Sn5 particles have a clear negative effect on the shear impact properties. Macroscopic fracture occurred by a combination of the brittle fracture of embedded primary Cu6Sn5 rods and ductile fracture of the matrix βSn. Cleavage of the Cu6Sn5 rods occurred mostly along (0001) or perpendicular to (0001) with some crack deflection between the two. The deterioration of shear impact properties with increasing Cu6Sn5 size is attributed to (1) the larger microcracks introduced by the brittle fracture of larger embedded Cu6Sn5 crystals, and (2) the less numerous and more widely spaced rods when the Cu6Sn5 crystals are larger, which makes them poor strengtheners.

BACKGROUND Lung cancer patients are at increased risk for vascular events possibly due to cancer induced hypercoagulation. AIM The purpose of this study was to evaluate risk factors associated with the mortality from vascular thromboembolic events in patients diagnosed with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). DESIGN Retrospective population-based analysis. METHODS We used Surveillance, Epidemiology and End Results Program for 2004-13 and evaluated 199 337 patients with NSCLC. Univariate and multivariate subdistribution hazard regression models were used to identify potential risk factors for mortality from vascular thromboembolic events. Stratification analysis against clinical stage was performed to determine if the severity of the disease influenced the identified associations. The aim of this study was to investigate the expression characteristics of forkhead box K1 (FOXK1) in breast cancer (BCa). Meanwhile, its relationship with clinicopathology and prognosis of patients with BCa was also explored.The expression level of FOXK1 in 65 paired BCa tissues and para-cancerous tissues was detected by quantitative Real Time-Polymerase Chain Reaction (qRT-PCR). The relationship between FOXK1 expression and BCa pathological parameters as well as the prognosis of patients was analyzed. Meanwhile, the expression of FOXK1 in BCa cells was detected by qRT-PCR. Subsequently, FOXK1 knockdown and overexpression models were constructed by lentivirus transfection in BCa cell lines (including MCF-7 and SKBR3). The effect of FOXK1 on the biological functions of BCa cells was analyzed using Cell Counting Kit-8 (CCK-8), cell cloning assay and flow cytometry, respectively. Finally, whether the role of FOXK1 was achieved via the PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling pathway was explored.The qRT-PCR results showed that FOXK1 expression in BCa tissues was significantly higher than that of adjacent tissues. Compared with patients with low expression of FOXK1, the pathological grading was markedly higher in those with high expression. Meanwhile, the overall survival rate was remarkably lower in patients with high expression. In addition, compared with the negative control group, the proliferation ability of cells in FOXK1 knockdown group was significantly decreased, while cell apoptosis was markedly up-regulated. Besides, Western blot results revealed that silencing FOXK1 could reduce the levels of key proteins in the PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling pathway, thereby promoting the malignant progression of BCa. Finally, PI3Kα/mTOR-IN-1, which was the inhibitor of the PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling pathway, significantly reversed the proliferative capacity of cells in FOXK1 overexpression group, as well as enhanced anti-apoptotic ability.FOXK1 expression was remarkably increased both in BCa tissues and cells. Meanwhile, it was markedly associated with pathological stage and poor prognosis of patients. Besides, FOXK1 might promote the malignant progression of BCa by inhibiting the PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling pathway.

Current studies reporting the association between VDR polymorphisms and susceptibility to hypertension are controversial. This meta-analysis aims to obtain a precise correlation estimate between VDR polymorphisms and susceptibility to hypertension.Relevant studies were searched in PubMed, Web of Science, CNRI, Wanfang, and VIP using the keywords as "Vitamin D receptor, hypertension", "Vitamin D receptor polymorphism, hypertension", and "VDR, hypertension". ORs and corresponding 95%CI of eligible studies were calculated using RevMan5.3 and STATA12.0.Seven independent studies reporting the association between VDR gene polymorphisms and hypertension were enrolled. VDR rs1544410 (BsmI) was associated with susceptibility to hypertension. The frequency of VDR BsmI AA genotype decreased in hypertension patients compared with healthy controls. The population carrying VDR BsmI AA genotype had lower susceptibility to hypertension relative to those carrying GA or GG genotype (OR = 0.69, 95% CI = 0.54-0.89, p = 0.005). Meanwhile, the frequency of A allele was higher in the case group than that of control group (OR = 0.83, 95% CI = 0.69-0.99, p = 0.04). No significant correlation was found between VDR FokI or VDR ApaI with susceptibility to hypertension.VDR BsmI gene polymorphism is closely related to the susceptibility to hypertension.

Two-dimensional (2D) modeling is reported for InGaP/GaAs/InGaAs four-junction solar cell with tunnel junctions. The cell basic physical properties were demonstrated. The simulated results indicate one-sun efficiency about 40.1% with short-circuit current density as 126.63 A/m2 and open-circuit voltage as 3.69V. High efficiency up to 45.9% under 100 sun illumination could be achieved.
