Refrigerated trucks in the cold chain enhance the shelf-life of food. In the fruit supply chain (FSC), if each different fruit necessitates its dedicated fleet of refrigerated vehicles, the total cost of the supply chain would increase. On the other hand, if there are several fruits in a single compartment, the quality and freshness of the fruits will be impacted since each fruit requires a different operating temperature. Therefore, partitions are necessary within the container. While the use of cold chain infrastructure will result in a reduction in food loss and an enhancement in food security, it will also incur an increase in the overall cost of the supply chain. Therefore, this paper aims to create a mixed integer non-linear programming (MINLP) mathematical model considering multi-compartment reefer trucks (MCRTs) to minimize the total cost in the FSC. To assess the efficiency of the model, a case study is carried out in India, and the formulated mathematical model is solved using a heuristic approach. The findings indicate that utilizing MCRTs leads to a reduction in the number of vehicles required and a drop in total supply chain cost. Three-compartment reefer trucks offer a more significant cost-saving advantage in the FSC compared to two-compartment reefer trucks. Furthermore, it is noted that operating three distribution centers (DCs) results in a reduction in the overall cost. The decrease in total supply chain costs enhances the affordability of fruits for low-income populations and contributes to the enhancement of food security. In addition to cost reduction, implementing MCRT has also beneficial environmental impacts such as decreased emissions due to a decrease in the number of trucks utilized and reduced food waste.

Context: SARS-CoV-2 virus causes COVID-19 by infecting nasal and oral cavities primarily by attaching its spike proteins to ACE 2 receptors expressed in epithelial cells. Aim: This study was done to evaluate the micronucleated cell count, metanuclear abnormalities, and genotoxic factor in exfoliated buccal mucosal cell among the COVID-19 suspected patients. Settings and Design: This cross-sectional study was conducted at AIIMS, Mangalagiri, between August and October 2022. Methods: One hundred COVID-19 suspected patients were recruited for this study after obtaining informed and written consent; buccal smear was obtained and stained for papanicolaou test (PAP). The PAP-stained slides were analyzed for micronuclei (MN), pyknotic, karyolytic, and karyorrhexic cell count, respectively. Based on their reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) report, the patients were grouped into COVID-19 positive and negative groups. Statistical Analysis: The genotoxicity factor was calculated using the micronucleated cell count from both the groups using mean and standard deviation. Results: The MN, micronucleated cell, pyknotic, karyolitic, and karyorrhexic cell count in COVID-19 positive patients were 24.12, 15.24, 3.08, 2.88 and 4.40, respectively, than COVID-19 negative patients 5.69, 8.17, 1.08, 1.00 and 2.43, respectively. The genotoxicity factor for SARS-CoV-2 was 2.68 which is a positive genotoxic effect on buccal mucosal cells. Conclusion: SARS-CoV-2 increases the expression of micronucleated cells, pyknotic cells, karyolytic cells, and karyorhexic cells and concludes SARS-CoV-2 is having cytogenotoxic effect on the buccal mucosal cells. This can be used as a reliable marker in identifying the early carcinogenic effects of virus causing COVID-19.

Semiconductor-based photocatalyst materials played an important role in the degradation of organic compounds in recent years. Photocatalysis is a simple, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly process for degrading organic compounds. In this work, vanadium pentoxide (V2O5) and V2O5/RGO (reduced graphene oxide) composite were synthesized by a hydrothermal method. The prepared samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Raman spectroscopy, and UV-Vis spectroscopic analysis, etc. Raman analysis shows the occurrence of RGO characteristic peaks in the composite and different vibrational modes of V2O5. The band gap of flake-shaped V2O5 is reduced and its light absorption capacity is enhanced by making its composite with RGO. The photocatalytic degradation of methylene blue (MB) was studied using both V2O5 and V2O5/RGO composite photocatalyst materials. The V2O5/RGO composite exhibits a superior photocatalytic performance to V2O5. Both catalyst and light play an important role in the degradation process.

The study was undertaken to find out the effect of simplified Kundalini yoga and pranayama on academic performance and selected psychological variables among schoolboys on aggression. To achieve the purpose of the study, 45 students studying various Higher Secondary Schools at Erode District were selected as subjects. The age of the subjects ranged from 14 to 16 years. The subjects were divided into three groups of fifteen each (n=15) randomly. Experimental Group I underwent simplified Kundalini yoga, Experimental Group II underwent Pranayama, and Group III is Control group were kept under active rest. The training period is for three days per week for eight weeks, in addition to the school curriculum. All the subjects were tested on selected criterion variables prior and immediately after the training period. The result of the study that there is a significant difference in the adjusted post-test means of the simplified Kundalini yoga group and the pranayama practice group and control group. It was identified that the simplified yoga group is better than the pranayama group and control group in improving explosive strength.

The development of oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) catalyst that are affordable and long-lasting is crucial for the expansion of energy conversion applications. In this study, we synthesized a ZnO–NiO/reduced graphene oxide hybrid electrocatalyst by using the co-precipitation method. X-ray diffraction (XRD), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), and Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET) analysis were used to characterize the synthesized ZnO–NiO/rGO hybrid catalyst. The XRD analysis showed that ZnO had a wurtzite structure, whereas the phase of NiO had a cubic structure. The TGA and BET investigations of the hybrid catalyst revealed its excellent thermal stability and large specific area (395.8 m2 g−1) compared to bare catalysts. Through transmission electron microscopy (TEM) analysis, we observed that ZnO nanorods and NiO nanoparticles are distributed evenly on the rGO surface. The electrochemical analysis showed that the ZnO–NiO/rGO hybrid catalyst had highly efficient catalytic activity for the ORR. It had a high limiting current density (7.1 mA cm−2), a positive onset potential (0.95 V), a low rate of H2O2 formation (less than 15%), and long-term stability. The oxygen reduction process on the ZnO–NiO/rGO hybrid catalyst was demonstrated to occur via a highly efficient 4e− mechanism using rotating ring-disk and rotating disk electrode investigations. The ZnO–NiO/rGO hybrid catalyst demonstrated significant promise as an expensive metal-free catalyst for alkaline fuel cell cathodes. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
