ABSTRACT: Public interest in the cannabis plant has increased after its legalization in many countries. Cannabis sativa residues (CR) are a part of the plant waste in the cannabis industry. The CR contain medicinal properties that could be used as a feed additive in poultry production. The trial was conducted to investigate the effects of CR on growth performance, carcass characteristics, intestinal morphology, and blood biochemistry profile of broiler chickens. In a completely randomized design, 256 one-day-old male Ross 308 broilers were randomly allocated to 4 treatments with 8 replicates and 8 birds per replicate. These 4 dietary treatments included a basal diet with 0, 0.5, 1 and 2% CR for 40 d. The results showed that 2% CR supplementation reduced feed intake (FI) in the starter phase (d 3–23, P < 0.05). The birds in the CR groups had lower FI in the finishing phase (d 24–40, P < 0.01) and the whole raising period (d 3–40, P < 0.01) than the control. However, the body weight and carcass yield were not different (P > 0.05). In addition, the CR diet had no adverse effects on the blood biochemistry profile, including total cholesterol, triglycerides, aspartate aminotransferase, alanine aminotransferase, alkaline phosphatase, total protein, globulin, albumin, and direct bilirubin (P > 0.05). In addition, total bilirubin and malondialdehyde were better in the plasma of CR-supplemented birds than in the control groups (P < 0.05). The observations on intestinal morphology showed that CR supplementation improved the ratio between villus height and crypt depth in the ileum (P < 0.05). In conclusion, CR supplementation can improve intestinal morphology and oxidative stability of broiler chickens. This suggests that CR could potentially be used as an alternative feed additive in broiler production.

Tujuan dari revitalisasi BUMDes untuk akselerasi pemberdayaan ekonomi masyarakat desa adalah untuk meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat desa melalui pemberdayaan sel-sel potensi yang dimiliki desa baik terkait sumber daya alam maupun manusia. Revitalisasi BUMDes perlu dilakukan dalam rangka meningkatkan kinerja BUMDES untuk meraih pencapaian terbaik. Untuk kepentingan tersebut dipilih dua desa berdasarkan karakteristik tertentu yakni di Desa Cijulang dan Desa Sukaresik di Kabupaten Ciamis. Target dari kegiatan adalah para pengelola BUMdes, aparat, dan masyarakat mendapatkan (1) pengetahuan dalam pengelolaan BUMDes, (2) pemahaman manajemen resiko, (3) pengalaman dalam membuat analisis SWOT, dan (4) Pendampingan kewirausahaan kepada UMKM. Metode pelaksanaan menggunakan model revitalisasi BUMDes dalam konteks pemberdayaan ekonomi. Kegiatan dilaksanakan selama 6 bulan diawali dengan observasi dan wawancara untuk mendapatkan data awal, Focus Grup Discussion (FGD), pembuatan model, penyusunan program revitalisasi dengan memperhatikan permasalahan yang dihadapi, yaitu dibidang manajemen, sistem informasi, peran serta dan kepercayaan masyarakat dan transparansi, dan kerjasama dengan perusahaan. Output atau luaran yang dihasilkan adalah publikasi artikel pada jurnal pengabdian dan media massa, dan sistem informasi BUMdes (SIBDes).

This research was conducted to improve students' reading comprehension of English narrative texts through problem-based learning at SMAN 5 Tasikmalaya Class X in the 2022/2023 academic year. This research is concerned with how using problem-based learning can improve students' reading comprehension of narrative texts. This research uses classroom action research. This is carried out in two cycles. Data can be classified into qualitative and quantitative. Qualitative data was analyzed using observation and interviews. Quantitative data was analyzed using students' pretest and posttest scores. Based on qualitative data, this research found that the use of problem-based learning can effectively improve students' reading comprehension. Students can obtain information from the text well. The reading text provided can make students feel interested and can improve their ability to analyze the text. As a result, they perform better understanding. The findings of this research are also supported by the results of the average student reading comprehension score which increased well from 68 in cycle I to 80 in cycle II. In short, the use of problem-based learning can improve students' reading comprehension of narrative texts.

Introduction: A granular cell tumor is a rare neoplasm originating from mesenchymal tissue. Malignant granular cell tumors have a poor prognosis. The lung is one of the target organs for metastatic malignant granular cell tumors. The number of rare cases makes managing metastatic malignant granular cell tumors unknown. Case: A 19-year-old male complained of shortness of breath for two months. A liver nodule biopsy revealed poorly differentiated carcinoma metastases. Histopathology of the left manus and frontal masses found granular cell tumors—negative immunohistochemistry on S-100 and myogenin. Ki-67 obtained a value of 5%. An X-ray and contrast multislice computerized tomography (MSCT) scan showed multiple metastatic nodules. Right bronchial biopsy forceps revealed a metastatic granular cell tumor. The patient was given docetaxel for six cycles. During the post-administration of docetaxel, the patient experienced clinical and radiological improvement. Conclusion: Until 2016, only three case reports of S-100 negative granular cell tumors existed. A negative S-100 test does not rule out the diagnosis of granular cell tumors. Malignant lesions are more common in males, as in this case. The number of rare cases means that management cannot be determined. Reports of similar cases show patients surviving up to 11 years with docetaxel administration. The patient in this study has survived for one year and is complaint-free.

Highlights • The thoracic CT scan can be an alternative evaluation before administering EGFR-targeting medicine to patients. • EGFR is now a therapeutic target for lung cancer. Abstract Background: EGFR mutation is one of the molecular markers associated with prognosis and therapy in lung adenocarcinoma patients, including with lung metastases. The predominant imaging modality for assessing lung cancer is a chest CT scan, which correlates with prognosis. Objective: This study aimed to explore the association between characteristics of lung adenocarcinoma based on chest CT-Scan and EGFR mutation in lung adenocarcinoma with lung metastases. Material and Method: This study involved 65 lung adenocarcinoma patients in Dr. Moewardi Hospital, Surakarta, Indonesia, from January 2018-December 2020. Result: Chest CT-Scan and EGFR mutation were assessed in all subjects. EGFR mutation was found in 32 (49.8%) subjects. Pengembangan diri dan profesional dianggap vital di kalangan guru untuk mendukung peran mereka sebagai agen perubahan dalam lingkungan pendidikan. Namun, sedikit perhatian ditujukan pada masalah bagaimana guru membangun, memperkuat dan memelihara pengembangan diri dan profesional mereka, terutama di tingkat sekolah menengah di Indonesia. Oleh karena itu, program ini bertujuan untuk memfasilitasi guru dalam membangun, mengembangkan dan merefleksikan pengembangan diri dan profesional mereka melalui menulis. Program ini dilaksanakan di SMP dan SMA Terpadu Darulmutaalimin di Kota Tasikmalaya, Jawa Barat, Indonesia. Peserta program ini adalah 27 guru dari sekolah tersebut. Program ini dilaksanakan dalam sembilan pertemuan setiap minggunya dengan tema utama 'menulis sebagai cerminan pengembangan pribadi dan profesional guru'. Program ini mengadopsi Participatory Action Research (PAR) untuk membantu guru mengembangkan pengembangan diri dan profesional mereka melalui kegiatan menulis (Kemmis, et. al. 2014). Kegiatan program ini meliputi empat tahapan besar, yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi dan refleksi. Hasil pelatihan ini menunjukkan bahwa guru mampu mendorong pengembangan diri dan profesional mereka melalui menulis cerita. Selain itu, mereka menganggap bahwa menulis merupakan strategi yang efektif untuk merefleksikan pengalaman dan persepsi mereka. Juga, menulis membantu mereka mengomunikasikan apa yang tidak terucapkan. Selanjutnya, menulis memotivasi mereka untuk lebih produktif dalam kehidupan pribadi, akademik dan profesional mereka. Berdasarkan fakta ini, memberdayakan guru untuk memiliki pengetahuan dan praktik yang memadai dalam menulis cerita memungkinkan mereka untuk melakukan pengembangan diri dan profesional secara berkelanjutan, memperkuat kegiatan refleksi secara personal dan menjadi pendidik yang produktif.

Tanaman buah merah (Pandanus conoideus Lamk.) merupakan salah satu komoditas lokal unggulan Papua Barat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis rantai nilai dan efisiensi pemasaran buah merah di Papua Barat. Penelitian ini dilakukan di tiga kabupaten yaitu kabupaten Manokwari, Teluk Bintuni, dan Sorong Selatan. Data primer dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner terhadap petani, pedagang dan konsumen dengan menggunakan teknik bola salju untuk nilai R/C ratio dan analisis rantai nilai. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa nilai R/C ratio terbesar diperoleh petani (3,75), pengolah (2,2) dan distributor (1,3). Selain itu, terdapat 3 pola alur rantai nilai buah merah di Provinsi Papua Barat, yaitu pola Petani – Konsumen, Petani - Pengolah – Konsumen, dan Petani – Pengolah – Distributor – Konsumen. Tingkat keuntungan paling tinggi secara nominal diperoleh oleh pengolah minyak buah merah dan keuntungan terkecil diperoleh petani dengan 16,7 % farmer share pada pola saluran ke-3 dan 18,3% pada pola saluran ke-2. Ditinjau dari marjin pemasaran, marjin keuntungan, farmer share dan efisiensi pemasaran menunjukan pola alur rantai nilai ke-2 dan ke-3 telah efisien.

This research is aimed at questing adult EFL learners’ self-directed learning performance in an Indonesian University. A case study is purposely employed to probing the learning behavior performed by adult learners when English language learning is taken as the context of this research carried out. Three student teachers are determined to be interviewed to obtain data. The acquired data is analyzed using thematic analysis by Braun and Clarke (2006). The study discovers that the EFL learners performed various activities presenting their self-directed learning in terms of learning motivation, learning strategy, selfmonitoring, and social competence. This research contributes to body knowledge of English language learning at higher education in which a teacher will be able to choose or select appropriate teaching strategies dealing with learners’ learning behaviour promoting autonomous learning. The findings also suggest the learners to conduct learning process properly since selfdirected learning enables the learners to maximize their both internal and external potentials in order to achieve better English achievement.

This study reflects the best practice of the English immersion program designed for EFL learners. Through observation in the research site and interview with eight participants (two language managers and six language learners), the modified model is discovered as the guidelines in ruling the project in which curriculum, English proficiency, and language management are the main points. Besides, Informal learning becomes the hot issue of this study since the English zone facilitates English informal interaction between language partners and learners which enhances English learning experiences effectively and motivates them to use English. The finding also reported that English immersion program emerges learning community, personal qualities development, English language acquisition, and self-efficacy, language awareness and language exposure The study may contribute to the body of knowledge in second language acquisition and recommend schools or universities and other related institutions to implement English immersion program as the alternative solution for English language learning in non-native speaking countries.

BackgroundNontuberculous mycobacterial (NTM) lung infections are a major public health concern. Diagnosis of NTM-pulmonary disease (NTM-PD) is difficult because its clinical, microbiological, and radiological features resemble to those of pulmonary tuberculosis (TB), leading to misdiagnosis. Identification at the species level is essential for diagnosis and determination of therapy, which is currently not performed routinely in Indonesian laboratories.Methodology and principal findingsFrom January 2020 to May 2021, 94 NTM isolates were collected from three TB referral centers in Java Province. Species were identified using matrix-assisted laser desorption-ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS). Tests were performed to determine antibiotic susceptibility, biofilm formation ability, sliding motility characteristics, and the ability to adhere to and invade pneumocytes. After identifying the species of all the isolates, we found nine groups of NTMs: M. fortuitum group 51% (48/94), M. abscessus 38.3% (36/94), M. intracellulare 3.1% (3/94), M. neoaurum 2.1% (2/94), M. chelonae 1.1% (1/94), M. gordonae 1.1% (1/94), M. szulgai 1.1% (1/94), M. mucogenicum 1.1% (1/94), and M. arupense 1.1% (1/94). Amikacin was the most effective antibiotic against M. fortuitum group and M. abscessus. The M. fortuitum group was significantly better at forming biofilms than M. abscessus, but both had the same sliding motility capability. The ability of the M. fortuitum group to adhere to and invade pneumocytes was better than that of M. abscessus, with the number isolates of the M. fortuitum group capable of superior adhesion and invasion to that of M. abscessus.Conclusions/significanceThis study shows that M. fortuitum group and M. abscessus were the most common NTM found in Java, Indonesia. The M. fortuitum group and M. abscessus were the most susceptible to amikacin; therefore, this was the empirical treatment of choice. The ability to form biofilms is directly proportional to the ability to adhere to and invade pneumocytes but not to the susceptibility profile or sliding motility characteristics.
