Mobile learning and gamification are becoming increasingly popular, especially in education. Numerous researches suggest that mobile learning apps with gamification can improve student learning. However, there are fewer studies that analyze the gamification effects and usability of mobile apps for middle-aged women. The aim of this study is to propose a new mobile learning app with gamification aspects for the use of middle-aged women in memorizing Arabic words. In the preliminary study, pre and post-tests were conducted to determine the effect of the use of the gamification application on 61 middle-aged women using Kahoot! game. The results from the Kahoot! game shows that participants enjoy learning and can memorize Arabic words effectively, indicating that gamification can motivate learning among middle-aged women. Then the usability of a new mobile app prototype containing learning notes and quizzes for user self-learning purposes was evaluated using three (3) criteria namely effectiveness, efficiency, and satisfaction. The considered indicators to measure the application's effectiveness are (a) tapping behaviour (number of taps used to perform a specific task), (b) number of attempts (how many times users tried to complete the task successfully), and (c) quiz score (score obtained by user after self-learning using the mobile app). Two variables were used to measure the efficiency of the application: the duration of task completion and the number of requests for help. In order to evaluate the satisfaction, a questionnaire was used to determine how respondents rated the mobile app's usability. The usability evaluation results show that the proposed mobile app was effective as users could utilize all the modules provided and successfully answer the quiz questions.

Henna is a type of plant that is normally used in our society as an accessory to paint their nails, hair and for men, beards. However, it is usually an accessory designed for women. Even so, there are some people in the society who use henna as a treatment for postpartum internal wounds. Through inductive and deductive analysis, the objective of this article is to analyse, from the fiqh al-hadith perspective, on the usage of henna that is explained in the hadiths in order to get a comprehensive explanation of the use of henna that was recommended by the Prophet PBUH so that the discussion can be related with the reality of the proper use of henna in society. The results of the study found that, from the fiqh alhadith perspective, the discussion on the use of henna is [1] Henna as a hair dye to darken grey hair; [2] Henna also acts as an accessory designed for women whether it is for their nails or hair; [3] The law prohibits the use of the colour of henna for men as accessories that resemble women (tasyabbuh); [4] Henna as wound treatments; and [5] Henna for leg pain treatments. Public relations are one of the essential elements for most of the organisations today. It is a center of focus in the organisations for channeling and disseminating the information both internally and internationally. Usually, public relations unit is the entity that responsible and directly involved in the public relations process. However, in the absence of a dedicated public relations unit, other people or units play a role in carrying out public relations responsibilities. In fact, most of the organisations use public relations to handle current issues or difficulties. Besides, it is used as one of the channels to publicize the achievements and successes achieved by the organisations. While conducting public relations, it might cause several issues such as non-transparency, interruption and inconsistencies. These should be avoided because they are not only destroying the social norms but also religious norms. Thus, this article will explain the fundamentals of Islamic public relations. Data are gathered through library study, as well as research on the Qur’an, Sunnah, and history. Next, it will be analysed using content analysis. Based on the findings, there are five elements of Islamic public relations: (1) create understanding, (2) protect the truth, (3) honor the promises, (4) use acceptable language and (5) take appropriate approach. Comprehending text is the aim of reading; however, there is the phenomenon of non-Arabic speakers in Malaysia reading the Qur'an, written in Arabic, without comprehension. Word recognition (WR) theory, through word frequency effect (WFE) and word superiority effect (WSE), are used as a basis to achieve reading comprehension (RC) of the Qur'an. The Eye of Qur'an (EoQu) interface was developed, to visualise word occurrences and word morphology. This is achieved through parallel plot and word segmentation visualization. EoQu can track a user's personal vocabulary with a presentation of percentage and word position in the Qur'an. Consequently, users know their ability to recognize Arabic words in relation to the whole Qur'an to achieve RC. An experimental study was set up with 90 Malaysian participants, starting with a pre-test, followed by a stratified sampling to divide participants into control and experimental groups (who used EoQu) for the post-test. Purpose – Ontologies play an important role in enabling machines to understand and navigate a knowledge base. Currently, a number of ontologies covering specific topic in the Quran have been created to serve a particular application. However, these existing Quran ontologies are limited in scope and knowledge. Specifically, existing ontologies do not support contextual information that is considered necessary for correct interpretation of the verses of Quran. The paper aims to discuss these issues. Design/methodology/approach – In order to fill this gap, this paper reports development of an ontology for Juz' Amma that encapsulates contextual information support, which are the translations, revelations place, tafsir, and hadiths. Findings – The developed ontology was evaluated and was found to satisfy the requirements specification. HAMKA as one of renowned ulama in Nusantara talks widely about leadership in his writings. The topic is also touched in Tafsir Al-Azhar which is one of his masterpiece. This article will discuss about the terms used by HAMKA in describing leader and leadership to realize the meaning of words like khalifah, imam and wali. Furthermore, HAMKA ideas and thoughts on factors such as bloodline, physical strength and knowledge for a person to be a leader are discussed in this work. HAMKA also talks about the fundamental of leadership which are The Almighty God, Allah, prophet and worshipers. In achieving the blessing from Allah SWT, duties and responsibilities of leaders, criticisms and advices to the leaders and the personal relationship between the leader and the government had also been discussed by HAMKA. Parallel plot is a relatively new type of plot in comparison to scatter plot. The aim of this paper is to find out the effectiveness of parallel plot visualization in comparison to the scatter plot for novice users. Comparison through literature shows that parallel and scatter plot visualization techniques offer similar visualization features. A study was conducted based on the parallel plot in Parallel Coordinate for the Qur'an (PaCQ) interface using a relational model, Goals Operators Methods and Selection Rules (GOMS) analysis and user performance evaluation. Based on the GOMS analysis, the subtasks and operation time involved in exploring data in scatter plot exceeds the subtasks and operation time in parallel plot in relation to the PaCQ interface developed for novice user even though, earlier studies found that scatter plot is easier to use. The GOMS analysis shows that the average time taken to complete tasks for the parallel plot is shorter then the scatter plot. A user performance evaluation shows no significant difference in the scores of interpreting the parallel plot within three levels of educational level of novice users. These findings provide evidences that the parallel plot is more effective for PaCQ designed for novice users. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Arabic words are known to have complex morphological structure. The different structures produce various word patterns or derivatives from a root word. This paper attempts to identify various word patterns that originate from a root word. These word patterns are compared to the words in the 30th part of the Qur'an. Nine stemming test cases were outlined for words in the 30th part of the Qur'an. Analysis showed that stemming nouns and particles leads to a lower percentage error compared to stemming the 10 alphabets that can be added as affixes in a root word. A rule- based stemming engine (RSE) was also implemented and the stemming accuracy achieved was 62.5% and the average time taken to stem 1000 word tokens was 11.7ms. The accuracy of the results was comparable to other stemming engines such as the Khoja stemmer, Buckwalter Morphological Analyzer (BAMA), Tri-literal Root Extraction (TRE) algorithm, and Voting algorithm.
