Guizhou is regarded as one hotspot for China's Erythroneurini diversity, from where numerous rare new species have been, or are being, described. A new genus and species of Erythroneurini from Huajiang, Guizhou, China, Anuihuajianga pyramidalis gen. et sp. nov. are described and illustrated. The new genus is characterized by subgenital plate extremely short, with long macrosetae dorsally at base, and small teeth-like setae at apex. The characteristic aedeagus shaped like two overlapping cones can also easily distinguish it from other genera. In general, this study further enriches the diversity of Erythroneurini in southwestern China.

In the present paper, one new species and two new records of Erythroneurini from Guizhou Province, China are reported. The new species, Seriana bacilla sp. n. is described and illustrated. A key to distinguish all species of the genus is given. Another two species newly recorded from China, Empoascanara gracilis Dworakowska, 1992 and Tautoneura mayarami Mathew & Ramakrishnan, 1996, are redescribed and illustrated.

Aims/Introduction There is still a lack of simple methods and instruments for the early assessment of autonomic dysfunction in metabolic syndrome patients. Assessment of sudomotor function has been proposed to explore autonomic function, and could be used as an early biomarker for metabolic syndrome. In the present study, we use a quick and non-invasive method to measure sudomotor function, and aimed to evaluate its efficacy to identify metabolic syndrome in a Chinese population. Materials and Methods Information on the 1,160 Chinese participants involved in the study, such as age, sex, blood pressure, waist circumference, body mass index, fasting plasma glucose and lipid profile, and SUDOSCAN, was recorded. During the sudomotor test, patients were asked to place their bare hands and feet on large electrodes. The test took 2 min to carry out, was painless and no participant preparation was required. The leafhopper genus Salka Dworakowska, 1972 belongs to the Typhlocybinae tribe Erythroneurini with Zygina nigricans Matsumura, 1932 as its type species. The known species of this genus are distributed in the Oriental and Palearctic regions. Recently, it was reviewed by Zhang et al. (2009), Ohara (2012) and SongLi (2012). Seventy-eight species are known, including 36 species from China. In this present work, two new species from China are described and illustrated. All specimens examined are deposited to the collection of the Institute of Entomology, Guizhou University, China (GUGC).

In this paper, three new species of the genus Kapsa Dworakowska, 1972 from China are described and illustrated: K. fangxianga n. sp., K. biprocessa n. sp. and K. arca n. sp.

The genus Arboridia Zachvatkin is reviewed, including two new species Arboridia cincta sp.nov. and Arboridia ochracea sp.nov., from Henan province, China. A detailed morphological description and illustrations of the two new species are provided. A key to all known species from China is given.

In the present paper, nine new species, Arboridia anteoculara, A. baiyunensis, A. reniformis, A. lunula, A. cuihuashana, A. paraprocessa, A. echinata, A. tridentata, A. zhenyuana spp. n. and a new record, A. agrillacea from China, are described and illustrated and a key for identification of Chinese species is provided.

Three new species, Arboridia (Arboridia) magna sp.nov., A. (Arborifera) mira sp.nov. and A. (Arboridia) sexprocessa sp.nov. from Phitsanulok, Thailand are described and illustrated. A key for the identification of species of Arboridia from Thailand is provided. Arboridia (Arboridia) koreana Oh & Jung 2015 is synonymised with A. (Arboridia) agrillacea (Anufriev 1969).

The leafhopper genus Kabakra was established with Kabakra augusta from Vietnam as its type species by Dworakowska (1979). Later, another two species were described from India (Sohi & Mann 1992, Mathew & Ramakrishnan 1996). The genus was reviewed by Cao et al. (2012), who redescribed the genus and added three new species from China and Thailand. So far, six species have been reported, all from the Oriental region (see Dmitriev, 2016). In the present paper, two new species, K. chaiyaphuma and K. sakona spp. nov. are described and illustrated, with a key and a checklist to all known species of Kabakra.

In the present paper, seven new species, Salka cerviprocessa, S. congjianga, S. fanjinga, S. guilinensis, S. songae, S. taoyuanensis and S. triprocessa spp. n. from China are described and illustrated.

The typhlocybine genus Thaia Ghauri, 1962 belongs to the tribe Erythroneurini with Thaia oryzivora Ghauri, 1962 as its type species. The genus consists of three subgenera: Niema Dworakowska, 1979, Nlunga Dworakowska, 1974 and Thaia Ghauri, 1962. Up to the present, 34 described species are distributed throughout the Oriental and Afrotropical regions, and some species are pests of rice. (Ghauri 1962; Song & Li 2008).

Complete placenta previa (CPP) is an important cause of life threatening postpartum hemorrhage (PPH) [1]. Bleeding can be severe and uncontrollable because there is less musculature in the lower uterine segment. The aim of the present study was to retrospectively evaluate the efficacy of transverse annular compression sutures (TACS) in achieving hemostasis after traditional conservative methods had failed to control bleeding during cesarean delivery in women with CPP. A total of 41 pregnant women with CPP were included in the study. Eligibility criteria were: (1) persistent bleeding from the separated placental surface of the lower uterine segment at cesarean delivery after successive use of uterotonics, local suturing, and ligation of uterine arteries; and (2) subsequent administration of either uterine packing (UP) or TACS (Fig. 1). There were 24 patients in the UP group and 17 patients in the TACS group. Primary outcome was blood loss reported at the different phases of the cesarean delivery procedure. Pb0.05 was considered statistically significant. Differences between the 2 groups were assessed using the t test, χ or Fisher exact tests. The Institutional Ethical Committee approved the study. There was no significant difference at baseline in age, body mass index (calculated as weight in kilograms divided by height in meters squared), gravidity, parity, gestational age at delivery, birth weight, doses of uterotonics, and incidence of placenta accreta (Table 1). Overall, there was greater blood loss throughout the cesarean delivery procedure in the UP group compared with the TACS group (1670.0±447.7 mL vs 978.2±142.9 mL; Pb0.05). No difference in blood loss was found between the groups both before and after the intervention (The intervention was defined as either uterine packing or TACS in the study). The difference in blood loss occurred during the intervention, with 845.8±311.3 mL of blood loss in the UP group compared with 142.9±64.5 mL in the TACS group (Pb0.05). Interestingly, the time taken to perform uterine packing was significantly longer than the time taken to perform TACS (22.0± 5.6 min vs 2.9±1.0 min; Pb0.05). The quantity of blood transfused was also significantly higher in the UP group than in the TACS group (1541.7±792.3 mL vs 1008.3±516.0 mL; Pb0.05). Hysterectomy was unavoidable in 2 (8.3%) patients in the UP group because of intractable bleeding. TACS failed to stop bleeding in 1 (5.9%) patient in the TACS group and the patient's uterus was preserved using multiple uterine compression sutures. Ultrasound results showed no uterine abnormalities on day 42 post delivery in the TACS group. No difference was found in the incidence of complications between the 2 groups. Normal menstruation resumed for all women, except for those who underwent hysterectomy. It is difficult to control the bleeding from the separated placental surface during cesarean delivery inwomenwith CPP [2,3]. The present study indicates that both UP and TACS were effective in controlling bleeding. The success rates (i.e., achievement of hemostasis) were 91.7% and 94.1% for UP and TACS, respectively. However, the mean blood loss during cesarean delivery and the quantity of blood transfused were higher in the UP group than in the TACS group. A partial explanation might be that the greater blood loss was related to the longer time taken to complete the intervention since it took more time to performuterine packing than to performTACS. Furthermore, in the only participant for whom TACS failed to control bleeding, the uterus was successfully preserved using another technique. Hysterectomy was required for the 2 patients in whom uterine packing was ineffective. TACS may be particularly useful in low-resource areas because it is technically less challenging and requiresminimal training and equipment. In 1997, B-Lynch et al.
