Exploring the pattern of block vitality within cities and its influencing factors is an important topic in urban vitality research, which has great significance in promoting high-quality urban development. However, existing research has paid little attention to the spatial difference characteristics of daytime and night urban vitality and the differences in their influencing factors. Using the urban area of Kunming, China, as a case study, this study explores the differences in spatial patterns of daytime and night vitality at the intra-city block scale and analyses the differences in the main influencing factors of daytime and night block vitality using spatial regression models. The study obtains the following findings: (1) daytime block vitality in Kunming’s urban district (the urban Dist. of KM) is higher than night block vitality. The First Ring Area has the highest daytime block vitality, whereas the Second Ring Area has the highest night block vitality. (2) Block vitality in the urban Dist. of KM presents a polycentric structure. (3) There are obvious differences in the factors influencing urban vitality between daytime and night, with work accessibility, functional mixing, daily consumption accessibility, floor area ratio, and average building age, having different directions of influence on daytime and night urban vitality. (4) Daytime urban vitality in the urban Dist. of KM relies on work activities, while night urban vitality relies on residential activities. The results provide a scientific basis for urban land use layout, facility construction, and higher-quality urban planning and management, thus promoting sustainable urban development.

Considering the hysteresis effect of the harmonic reducer in the joint and that when the joint is subject to alternating load torques, the hysteresis effect will have great influence on the output precision. However, the load on each joint of the multi-DOF manipulator is not constant and the hysteresis effect of harmonic reducers in the joint should be considered when analyzing the precision of the manipulator's end motion. A stiffness model with the hysteresis effect is proposed. Combined with the Stribeck friction model, a dynamic model of the manipulator is established. By solving the model, the end motion trajectory of the manipulator considering the hysteresis of the harmonic reducer's torsional angle is obtained. The motion accuracy index is established and the influence of the hysteresis angle and torsional stiffness of harmonic reducers on the trajectory accuracy of manipulators is analyzed. The results can provide reference for the harmonic reducer in the engineering design process of manipulators.

With the acceleration of urbanization and profound socioeconomic changes, the influx of people from various social strata into cities has led to the phenomenon of residential segregation. Currently, the international community has accumulated profound theoretical foundations and rich practical experiences in the study of residential segregation. This research, primarily based on the WOS literature database, sorts and summarizes relevant studies on residential segregation in recent years (focusing on publications from 2020 to 2024), emphasizing the following four key aspects: (1) tracing the evolution of the theory of residential segregation and analytical methods; (2) analyzing the main characteristics of urban residential segregation; (3) exploring the driving mechanisms and effects of urban residential segregation; and (4) summarizing research trends and providing future perspectives. This study aids urban planners in more accurately identifying areas and characteristics of residential segregation, optimizing urban layouts, and providing richer and more in-depth theoretical support and practical guidance for the field of urban planning science. Conducting this research contributes to a deeper understanding of the correlation between atmospheric environmental quality and lung cancer incidence, and provides the scientific basis for formulating effective environmental protection and lung cancer prevention and control strategies. Lung cancer incidence in China has strong spatial variation. However, few studies have systematically revealed the characteristics of the spatial variation in lung cancer incidence, and have explained the causes of this spatial variation in lung cancer incidence from the perspectives of multiple components of the atmospheric environment to explain this spatial variation in lung cancer incidence. To address research limitations, we first analyze the spatial variation and spatial correlation characteristics of lung cancer incidence in China. Then, we build a spatial regression model using GeoDa software with lung cancer incidence as the dependent variable, five atmospheric environment factors—particulate matter 2.5 (PM2.5) concentration, temperature, atmospheric pressure, and elevation as explanatory variables, and four socio-economic characteristics as control variables to systematically analyze the influence and intensity of these factors on lung cancer incidence. The results show that lung cancer incidence in China has apparent changes in geographical and spatial unevenness, and spatial autocorrelation characteristics. In China, the lung cancer incidence is relatively high in Northeast China, while some areas of high lung cancer incidence still exist in Central China, Southwest China and South China, although the overall lung cancer incidence is relatively low. The atmospheric environment significantly affects lung cancer incidence. Different elements of the atmospheric environment vary in the direction and extent of their influence on the development of lung cancer. A 1% increase in PM2.5 concentration is associated with a level of 0.002975 increase in lung cancer incidence. Atmospheric pressure positively affects lung cancer incidence, and an increase in atmospheric pressure by 1% increases lung cancer incidence by a level of 0.026061. Conversely, a 1% increase in temperature is linked to a level of 0.006443 decreases in lung cancer incidence, and a negative correlation exists between elevation and lung cancer incidence, where an increase in elevation by 1% correlates with a decrease in lung cancer incidence by a level of 0.000934. The core influencing factors of lung cancer incidence in the seven geographical divisions of China exhibit variations. This study facilitates our understanding of the spatial variation characteristics of lung cancer incidence in China on a finer scale, while also offering a more diverse perspective on the impact of the atmospheric environment on lung cancer incidence. The influence of fabric breathability on the adsorption effect was explored for non-contact fabric picking which is prone to unstable adsorption, dropping and not easy delamination. The fabric was equated to a porous medium. A fluid-solid coupling model was established based on the arbitrary Lagrange-Euler(ALE) method for the interaction between the structural field and the flow field. Three different breathable fabrics were selected for numerical simulation of the adsorption process. The validity of the model was verified by adsorption experiments and pressure distribution measurement experiments. The results show that the air permeability of the fabric has a large influence on the adsorption process. Permeability is negatively correlated with the adsorption force, with a correlation coefficient of -0.934. The higher the permeability, the lower the adsorption force. Guidance is given for the implementation of inlet pressure variable control for subsequent non-contact adsorption of fabrics. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The abandonment degree of an urban residential building can reflect the popularity of residential areas. This study uses this idea as a basis for proposing the concept of using residential quarters' abandonment rate to measure the abandonment degree of an area. The spatial pattern of the abandonment rate and its clustering characteristics were obtained by taking 2517 residential quarters in Kunming's Main Urban District as research object, and using their listing for sale ratio data. Thereafter, curve estimation was used to explore the influencing factors of abandonment rate. The results are as follows. (1) The abandonment rate of the four circles in Kunming's Main Urban District increases from inside to outside, showing the pattern of the core area–second ring area–third ring area–new urban district, with evident "core–edge" characteristics. (2) The relationship between distance from the city center, housing ages, and abandonment rate can be well fitted using a quadratic function and shows an inverted "U"-shaped "rising–declining" trend. The relationship between housing prices and abandonment rate is fitted by the inverse function, showing an evident "up" trend. As an indispensable part of textile processing, the fabric drying process has a great impact on product quality and overall energy consumption. To reveal the characteristics of the continuous drying process of various fabrics and optimize process parameters for improving productivity and saving energy, a finite element model is built to simulate the continuous fabric drying process, and an optimization method is applied to optimize process parameters based on the model. Specifically, a finite element model is first built; the model can predict distribution of water content and surface temperature of three kinds of fabric in the continuous drying process under different process parameters. The model is then verified by experiments, and the experimental results agree well with the numerical results: The mean absolute errors of distribution of water content and surface temperature of fabrics are 4.22% and 2.15℃, respectively. The numerical results indicate that wind velocity, wind temperature, and fabric velocity have a significant influence on the drying rate and surface temperature of fabrics in the continuous drying process, which, however, are not affected obviously by initial water content. It is also found that under the same initial and technological conditions, the drying rate and surface temperature of fabrics in the continuous drying process are lower than those in the intermittent drying process. Second, the Taguchi method is applied to design continuous fabric drying schemes, considering the interaction effect of technological parameters on the drying process. The numerical model is then applied to simulate these schemes, and the TOPSIS method is applied to analyze and compare these numerical results. The optimal technological parameters are determined; the optimal parameters can help to save energy by about 27.8 % and enhance energy efficiency by about 16 % in the continuous drying process.
