BackgroundThe exploration of personality traits in relation to psychological constructs has become increasingly relevant in understanding the mental health of university students (the emerging adulthood). Studies have focused on how dimensions intersect with various psychological parameters.AimThe study aims to identify distinct personality profiles among university students based on Eysenck’s personality dimensions and investigate how these profiles differ across psychological constructs.MethodA quantitative methodology was utilized, involving 708 university students from Wenzhou and Nanjing in China as participants. The research employed the Eysenck Personality Questionnaire along with other psychological measures. This paper explores the complexities behind the educational decisions of Tibetan parents on sending their children to the interior cities for dislocated secondary education. Drawing on qualitative data through multiple methods, we find that their educational decisions are driven both by a rational calculation of the benefits and costs and by a moralised ideology of good parenting. Educational opportunities are prioritised over ethnic cultural learning in parents' decisions. However, parents hope their children will make up for this loss at a later life stage, at college and work. Parents' temporary compromises reflect their positioning of priorities at different life stages. This study offers a new lens to understand the politics of dislocated schooling in China from ethnic minority parents' perspective.

Twist angle errors along the blade radial direction are uncertain and affected by cutting force, tool wear, and other factors. In this paper, the measured twist angle errors of 13 sections of 72 rotor blades were innovatively analyzed to obtain the rational statistical distribution. It is surprisingly found that the under-deflection systematic deviation of twist angle errors shows a gradually increasing W-shaped distribution along the radial direction, while the scatter is nearly linear. Logically, the statistical model is established based on the linear correlation of the scatter by regression analysis to reduce variable dimension from 13 to 1. The influence of the radial non-uniform twist angle errors’ uncertainty on the aerodynamic performance of the three-dimensional compressor rotor is efficiently quantified combining the non-intrusive polynomial chaos method. The results show that the mean values of mass flow rate, total pressure ratio, and isentropic efficiency at the typical operating conditions are lower than the nominal values due to the systematic deviation, indicating that the under-deflection twist angle errors lead to the decrease in compressor thrust. The compressor’s stable operating range is more sensitive to the scatter of twist angle errors, which is up to an order of magnitude greater than that of the total pressure ratio and isentropic efficiency, indicating the compressor’s safe and stable operation risk increases. Additionally, the flow field at the tip region is significantly affected by twist angle errors, especially at the shock wave position of the near-stall condition.

Objective: In order to effectively solve the problems of low efficiency, quality fluctuation and increasing labor cost of artificial sorting. Methods: A mechanical system based on differential separation principle was designed to complete the classification and separation device of Pleurotus eryngii, and the differential separation principle was introduced and modeled. Results: The test prototype was built and the principle verification test was completed. The success rate of separation of special mushroom was 99.5%, and that of other varieties was 100%. Conclusion: The test device can achieve good differential separation effect.

BackgroundThe immune responses to severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) are crucial in maintaining a delicate balance between protective effects and harmful pathological reactions that drive the progression of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). T cells play a significant role in adaptive antiviral immune responses, making it valuable to investigate the heterogeneity and diversity of SARS-CoV-2-specific T cell responses in COVID-19 patients with varying disease severity.MethodsIn this study, we employed high-throughput T cell receptor (TCR) β repertoire sequencing to analyze TCR profiles in the peripheral blood of 192 patients with COVID-19, including those with moderate, severe, or critical symptoms, and compared them with 81 healthy controls. We specifically focused on SARS-CoV-2-associated TCR clonotypes.ResultsWe observed a decrease in the diversity of TCR clonotypes in COVID-19 patients compared to healthy controls. However, the overall abundance of dominant clones increased with disease severity. Additionally, we identified significant differences in the genomic rearrangement of variable (V), joining (J), and VJ pairings between the patient groups. Furthermore, the SARS-CoV-2-associated TCRs we identified enabled accurate differentiation between COVID-19 patients and healthy controls (AUC > 0.98) and distinguished those with moderate symptoms from those with more severe forms of the disease (AUC > 0.8). These findings suggest that TCR repertoires can serve as informative biomarkers for monitoring COVID-19 progression.ConclusionsOur study provides valuable insights into TCR repertoire signatures that can be utilized to assess host immunity to COVID-19. These findings have important implications for the use of TCR β repertoires in monitoring disease development and indicating disease severity.

Insufficient pollination is one of the direct causes of flower and fruit drop in goji berries. Aiming to determine the flowering characteristics, 'Ningqi 10' was taking as material to analyze flowering period, including flower color, stigma receptivity, pollen vitality, and nectar secretion at different stages. The study also analyzed the pollination characteristics of common pollinating insects, such as the duration of a single visit to flowers and the number of pollen deposition on the stigma. The results showed that during 12~24 h after flowering and the petal color changed to light purple and white purple, the stigma receptivity, pollen vitality, and nectar secretion were the highest, with significant differences (P<0.05) compared to other stages. The number of pollen deposition on the stigma of common pollinating insects after a single visit (moths>bees>non cushioned bees) showed significant differences compared to natural pollination. The average duration of bees visiting purple flowers was 4.1 s, and the difference was extremely significant (P<0.01) compared to the duration of bees visiting yellow flowers (average 1.7 s). The number of pollen deposition on the stigma of common pollinating insects after a single visit to flowers (moths>bees>non cushioned bees) showed significant differences compared to natural pollination. However, in terms of overall efficiency and the number of pollinating insect visits, it was recommended to introduce pollinating insects (such as bees) to enhance the assisted pollination of goji berries and improve the fruit setting and seed setting of 'Ningqi 10'. BACKGROUND: Kidney Renal Clear Cell Carcinoma (KIRC) is a malignant tumor that seriously threatens human health. Rho GTPase-activating protein 4 (ARHGAP4) plays an important role in the occurrence and development of tumors. OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this study was to explore the role of ARHGAP4 in the progression of KIRC and its diagnostic and prognostic value. METHODS: Multiple analytical methods and in vitro cell assays were used to explore the expression of ARHGAP4 and its value in the progression, diagnosis and prognosis of KIRC. The biological function of ARHGAP4 was studied by GO analysis and KEGG pathway analysis, and then the relationship between ARHGAP4 and immune infiltration was analyzed. RESULTS: The expression of ARHGAP4 was significantly up-regulated in KIRC. We found that the high expression of ARHGAP4 was related to the progression of KIRC and suggested a poor prognosis. Compared with normal tissues, ARHGAP4 had a better diagnostic value in KIRC. The biological function of ARHGAP4 was related to immunity, and its expression was also closely related to tumor immune infiltration and immune checkpoints. CONCLUSIONS: Our study demonstrated that ARHGAP4 may be a biomarker, which is related to the progression, diagnosis and prognosis of KIRC. The sensing of organic solvents and the determination of their water content are necessary conditions for ensuring environmental safety and organic solvent use. Herein, we selected a water-stable Cd-MOF, possessing 2D layers and amine groups, and optimized the synthesis conditions. The intensity of emission peaks gradually weakens with the increase in excitation wavelength in the range of 290–350 nm. The luminescent emission peaks exhibits a significant red shift with an increase in excitation wavelength at 355–400 nm. Tetrahydrofuran (THF) can significantly enhance the luminescent intensity of Cd-MOF compared to the others. Even in the presence of 5% volume fraction of other solvents, THF still shows a strong enhancement effect. These results confirm that this Cd-MOF can quickly and selectively detect THF through luminescent "turn on". Furthermore, the emission intensity of the Cd-MOF in THF gradually recedes with the increase in water, indicating its potential for the determination of water content of THF. The corresponding limit of detection is 0.14%, lower than that of some reported compounds. The interaction of THF and the amine groups of the ligand may lead to this specific enhancement of luminescence. In addition, the mixed matrix membrane with the functionality of MOF materials and the processability of polymers was synthesized, which can detect Fe3+, CrO42−, and Cr2O72− in water.
