Abstract Background Flowers can be a source of essential oils used in the manufacture of substances with high economic value. The ethylene response factor (ERF) gene family plays a key role in regulating secondary metabolite biosynthesis in plants. However, until now, little has been known about the involvement of ERF transcription factors (TFs) in floral terpenoid biosynthesis. Results In this study, an aromatic plant, Primula forbesii Franch., was used as research material to explore the key regulatory effects of PfERF106 on the biosynthesis of terpenoids. PfERF106, which encodes an IXb group ERF transcription factor, exhibited a consistent expression trend in the flowers of P. forbesii and was transcriptionally induced by exogenous ethylene. Transient silencing of PfERF106 in P. forbesii significantly decreased the relative contents of key floral terpenes, including (z)-β-ocimene, sabinene, β-pinene, γ-terpinene, linalool, eremophilene, α-ionone, and α-terpineol. In contrast, constitutive overexpression of PfERF106 in transgenic tobacco significantly increased the relative contents of key floral terpenes, including cis-3-hexen-1-ol, linalool, caryophyllene, cembrene, and sclareol. RNA sequencing of petals of PfERF106-silenced plants and empty-vector control plants revealed 52,711 expressed unigenes and 9,060 differentially expressed genes (DEGs). KEGG annotation analysis revealed that the DEGs were enriched for involvement in secondary metabolic biosynthetic pathways, including monoterpene and diterpene synthesis. Notably, 10 downregulated DEGs were determined to be the downstream target genes of PfERF106 affecting the biosynthesis of terpenoids in P. forbesii. Conclusion This study characterized the key positive regulatory effects of PfERF106 on the biosynthesis of terpenoids, indicating high-quality genetic resources for aroma improvement in P. forbesii. Thus, this study advances the artificial and precise directional regulation of metabolic engineering of aromatic substances.

Abstract Nickel (Ni) and copper (Cu) contamination have become major threats to plant survival worldwide. 24-epibrassinolide (24-EBR) and melatonin (MT) have emerged as valuable treatments to alleviate heavy metal-induced phytotoxicity. However, plants have not fully demonstrated the potential mechanisms by which these two hormones act under Ni and Cu stress. Herein, this study investigated the impact of individual and combined application of 24-EBR and MT on the growth and physiological traits of Primula forbesii Franch. subjected to stress (200 μmol L–1 Ni and Cu). The experiments compared the effects of different mitigation treatments on heavy metal (HM) stress and the scientific basis and practical reference for using these exogenous substances to improve HM resistance of P. forbesii in polluted environments. Nickel and Cu stress significantly hindered leaf photosynthesis and nutrient uptake, reducing plant growth and gas exchange. However, 24-EBR, MT, and 24-EBR + MT treatments alleviated the growth inhibition caused by Ni and Cu stress, improved the growth indexes of P. forbesii, and increased the gas exchange parameters. Exogenous MT effectively alleviated Ni stress, and 24-EBR + MT significantly alleviated the toxic effects of Cu stress. Unlike HM stress, MT and 24-EBR + MT activated the antioxidant enzyme activity (by increasing superoxide dismutase (SOD), peroxidase (POD), and catalase (CAT)), significantly reduced reactive oxygen species (ROS) accumulation, and regulated ascorbate and glutathione cycle (AsA-GSH) efficiency. Besides, the treatments enhanced the ability of P. forbesii to accumulate HMs, shielding plants from harm. These findings conclusively illustrate the capability of 24-EBR and MT to significantly bolster the tolerance of P. forbesii to Ni and Cu stress.

Abstract Alcea rosea L. is a traditional flower with a long cultivation history. It is extensively cultivated in China and is widely planted in green belt parks or used as cut flowers and potted ornamental because of its rich colors and flower shapes. Double-petal A. rosea flowers have a higher aesthetic value compared to single-petal flowers, a phenomenon determined by stamen petaloid. However, the underlying molecular mechanism of this phenomenon is still very unclear. In this study, an RNA-based comparative transcriptomic analysis was performed between the normal petal and stamen petaloid petal of A. rosea. A total of 3,212 differential expressed genes (DEGs), including 2,620 up-regulated DEGs and 592 down-regulated DEGs, were identified from 206,188 unigenes. Numerous DEGs associated with stamen petaloid were identified through GO and KEGG enrichment analysis. Notably, there were 63 DEGs involved in the plant hormone synthesis and signal transduction, including auxin, cytokinin, gibberellin, abscisic acid, ethylene, brassinosteroid, jasmonic acid, and salicylic acid signaling pathway and 56 key transcription factors (TFs), such as MADS-box, bHLH, GRAS, and HSF. The identification of these DEGs provides an important clue for studying the regulation pathway and mechanism of stamen petaloid formation in A. rosea and provides valuable information for molecular plant breeding.

IntroductionIntersectional hybrids in lilies possess significant breeding value, but the lack of complete lily genomes and complex genotypes pose challenges for early identification of lily hybrids. This study aimed to use intersectional hybrid cultivars as female parents and wild lilies as male parents to facilitate early identification of hybrid offsprings and enhance the efficiency and convenience of the process.MethodsWe investigated the nature of cross combinations using Non-denaturing Fluorescence In Situ Hybridization (ND-FISH) and Genomic In Situ Hybridization (GISH) techniques. Three novel oligonucleotide probes—Oligo-pTa794, Oligo-pITS and Oligo-telo—were developed for lily chromosome research.ResultsOur results demonstrated successful hybridization between wild lilies and intersectional hybrid cultivars, producing a total of 130 hybrid progenies. The combination of ND-FISH and GISH analyses effectively revealed the genomic composition of the hybrid progeny and determined the parental origin of specific chromosomes.DiscussionThis research provides significant guidance for lily breeding practices and offers a valuable reference for the application of ND-FISH and GISH techniques in interspecific hybridization breeding and molecular cytogenetic research across various plant species. The methods developed enable more precise, efficient, and convenient identification of hybrid offsprings.

Rapid industrialization and urbanization have caused severe soil contamination with cadmium (Cd) necessitating effective remediation strategies. Phytoremediation is a widely adopted technology for remediating Cd-contaminated soil. Previous studies have shown that Abelmoschus manihot has a high Cd accumulation capacity and tolerance indicating its potential for Cd soil remediation. However, the mechanisms underlying its response to Cd stress remain unclear. In this study, physiological, transcriptomic, and metabolomic analyses were conducted to explore the response of A. manihot roots to Cd stress at different time points. The results revealed that Cd stress significantly increased malondialdehyde (MDA) levels in A. manihot, which simultaneously activated its antioxidant defense system, enhancing the activities of superoxide dismutase (SOD), peroxidase (POD), and catalase (CAT) by 19.73%–50%, 22.87%–38.89%, and 32.31%–45.40% at 12 h, 36 h, 72 h, and 7 days, respectively, compared with those in the control (CK). Moreover, transcriptomic and metabolomic analyses revealed 245, 5,708, 9,834, and 2,323 differentially expressed genes (DEGs), along with 66, 62, 156, and 90 differentially expressed metabolites (DEMs) at 12 h, 36 h, 72 h, and 7 days, respectively. Through weighted gene coexpression network analysis (WGCNA) of physiological indicators and transcript expression, eight hub genes involved in phenylpropanoid biosynthesis, signal transduction, and metal transport were identified. In addition, integrative analyses of metabolomic and transcriptomic data highlighted the activation of lipid metabolism and phenylpropanoid biosynthesis pathways under Cd stress suggesting that these pathways play crucial roles in the detoxification process and in enhancing Cd tolerance in A. manihot. This comprehensive study provides detailed insights into the response mechanisms of A. manihot to Cd toxicity.

Modern pig farming leaves much to be desired in terms of efficiency, as these systems rely mainly on electromechanical controls and can only categorize pigs according to their weight. This method is not only inefficient but also escalates labor expenses and heightens the threat of zoonotic diseases. Furthermore, confining pigs in large groups can exacerbate the spread of infections and complicate the monitoring and care of ill pigs. This research executed an experiment to construct a deep-learning sorting mechanism, leveraging a dataset infused with pivotal metrics and breeding imagery gathered over 24 months. This research integrated a Kalman filter-based algorithm to augment the precision of the dynamic sorting operation. This research experiment unveiled a pioneering machine vision sorting system powered by deep learning, adept at handling live imagery for multifaceted recognition objectives. The Individual recognition model based on Residual Neural Network (ResNet) monitors livestock weight for sustained data forecasting, whereas the Wasserstein Generative Adversarial Nets (WGAN) image enhancement algorithm bolsters recognition in distinct settings, fortifying the model's resilience. Notably, system can pinpoint livestock exhibiting signs of potential illness via irregular body appearances and isolate them for safety. Experimental outcomes validate the superiority of this proposed system over traditional counterparts. It not only minimizes manual interventions and data upkeep expenses but also heightens the accuracy of livestock identification and optimizes data usage. This findings reflect an 89% success rate in livestock ID recognition, a 32% surge in obscured image recognition, a 95% leap in livestock categorization accuracy, and a remarkable 98% success rate in discerning images of unwell pigs. In essence, this research augments identification efficiency, curtails operational expenses, and provides enhanced tools for disease monitoring.

As an important part of heat shock response module, heat shock proteins (HSP) play an important role in plant defense response against heat stress; however, the involvement of the majority of the HSP family members against other abiotic stresses remains poorly understood. In the present study, LrHSP17.2 was identified and its function against abiotic stress was analyzed. The expression level of LrHSP17.2 was significantly induced by heat. Heterologous transgenes of LrHSP17.2 showed that LrHSP17.2 can increase the activity of catalase, peroxidase, superoxide dismutase to removes excess reactive oxygen species (ROS), maintain the stability of the membrane structure, and regulate genes related to antioxidant enzymes and defense under abiotic stress. In addition, LrHSP17.2 could be regulated by exogenous abscisic acid and melatonin, and the related hormone synthesis genes of transgenic plants were significantly up-regulated under heat stress. Taken together, our results revealed that LrHSP17.2 is involved in regulating abiotic stress responses by regulating ROS scavenging and stress-related genes in Lilium regale.

Our study utilized 374 geographical distribution records of H. mutabilis and 19 bioclimatic factors, employing the MaxEnt model and the Geographic Information System (ArcGIS). The key environmental variables influencing the suitable distribution areas of H. mutabilis were analyzed through the comprehensive contribution rate, permutation importance, and Pearson correlation coefficient. Based on this analysis, the contemporary and future suitable distribution areas and their extents were predicted. The results indicate that the key limiting factor affecting the suitable distribution areas of H. mutabilis is the precipitation of the driest month (bio14), with secondary factors being annual precipitation (bio12), annual mean temperature (bio1), and annual temperature range (bio7). Under contemporary climate conditions, the total suitable area for H. mutabilis is approximately 2,076,600 km2, primarily concentrated in the tropical and subtropical regions of southeastern China. Under low-to-medium-emission scenarios (SSP1-2.6, SSP2-4.5), the total suitable area of H. mutabilis shows a trend of first decreasing and then increasing compared to the current scenario. In contrast, under high-emission scenarios (SSP5-8.5), it exhibits a trend of first increasing and then decreasing. The spatial pattern changes indicate that the retention rate of suitable areas for H. mutabilis ranges from 95.28% to 99.28%, with the distribution centers primarily located in Hunan and Guizhou provinces, showing an overall migration trend towards the west and north. These findings suggest that H. mutabilis possesses a certain level of adaptability to climate change. However, it is crucial to consider regional drought and sudden drought events in practical cultivation and introduction processes. The results of our study provide a scientific basis for the rational cultivation management, conservation, and utilization of germplasm resources of H. mutabilis.

Small molecular heat shock proteins (sHSPs) belong to the HSP family of molecular chaperones. Under high-temperature stress, they can prevent the aggregation of irreversible proteins and maintain the folding of denatured proteins to enhance heat resistance. In this study, the CmHSP17.9-1 and CmHSP17.9-2 genes, which were cloned from chrysanthemum (Chrysanthemum×morifolium 'Jinba') by homologous cloning, had a complete open reading frame of 480 bp each, encoding 159 amino acids. The protein subcellular localization analysis showed that CmHSP17.9-1 and CmHSP17.9-2 were located in the cytoplasm and mostly aggregated in granules, especially around the nucleus. Real-time quantitative PCR (qRT-PCR) analysis showed that the relative expression level of the CmHSP17.9-1 and CmHSP17.9-2 genes was highest in the terminal buds of the chrysanthemum, followed by the leaves. CmHSP17.9-1 and CmHSP17.9-2 overex-pression vectors were constructed and used to transform the chrysanthemum; overexpression of these genes led to the chrysanthemum phenotypes being less affected by high-temperature, and the antioxidant capacity was enhanced. The results showed that chrysanthemum with overex-pression of the CmHSP17.9-1 and CmHSP17.9-2 genes had stronger tolerance than the wild type chrysanthemum after high-temperature treatment or some degree of heat exercise, and overex-pression of the CmHSP17.9-1 gene led to stronger heat resistance than that of the CmHSP17.9-2 gene, providing an important theoretical basis for the subsequent molecular breeding and pro-duction applications of chrysanthemum.

This study aimed to investigate the interaction between 24-Epibrassinolide (EBR) and melatonin (MT) and their effects on cadmium (Cd)-stressed Primula forbesii Franch. P. forbesii seedlings were hydroponically acclimatized at 6–7 weeks, then treated with Cd (200 μmol L–1), 24-EBR (0.1 μmol L–1), and MT (100 μmol L–1) after two weeks. Cd stress significantly reduced crown width, shoot, root length, shoot fresh weight, and fresh and dry root weights. Herein, 24-EBR, MT, and 24-EBR+MT treatments attenuated the growth inhibition caused by Cd stress and improved the morphology, growth indexes, and ornamental characteristics of P. forbesii under Cd stress. 24-EBR had the best effect by effectively alleviating Cd stress and promoting plant growth and development. 24-EBR significantly increased all growth parameters compared to Cd treatment. In addition, 24-EBR significantly improved the gas exchange parameters, activities of antioxidant enzymes, and the cycle efficiency of AsA-GSH. Furthermore, 24-EBR increased the activities of ascorbate peroxidase (APX), glutathione reductase (GR), dehydroascorbate reductase (DHAR), and monodehydroascorbate reductase (MDHAR) by 127.29%, 61.31%, 61.22%, and 51.04%, respectively, compared with the Cd treatment. Therefore, 24-EBR removed the reactive oxygen species produced by stress, thus protecting plants against stress damage. These results indicate that 24-EBR can effectively enhance the tolerance of P. forbesii to Cd stress.

Cadmium (Cd) pollution is a global problem affecting soil ecology and plant growth. Abscisic acid (ABA) acts as a growth and stress hormone, regulates cell wall synthesis, and plays an important role in plant responses to stress. There are few studies on the mechanisms behind abscisic acid alleviation of cadmium stress in Cosmos bipinnatus, especially in regards to regulation of the root cell wall. This study examined the effects of different concentrations of abscisic acid at different concentrations of cadmium stress. Through adding 5 μmol/L and 30 μmol/L cadmium, followed by spraying 10 μmol/L and 40 μmol/L ABA in a hydroponic experiment, it was found that under two concentrations of cadmium stress, low concentration of ABA improved root cell wall polysaccharide, Cd, and uronic acid content. Especially in pectin, after the application of low concentration ABA, the cadmium concentration was significantly increased by 1.5 times and 1.2 times compared with the Cd concentration under Cd5 and Cd30 treatment alone, respectively. Fourier-Transform Infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) demonstrated that cell wall functional groups such as -OH and -COOH were increased with exposure to ABA. Additionally, the exogenous ABA also increased expression of three kinds of antioxidant enzymes and plant antioxidants. The results of this study suggest that ABA could reduce Cd stress by increasing Cd accumulation, promoting Cd adsorption on the root cell wall, and activating protective mechanisms. This result could help promote application of C. bipinnatus for phytostabilization of cadmium-contaminated soil.

BackgroundGiven the aging population, the quality of mental health of elderly people deserves special attention. The aims of this study were (1) to assess the difference of neuro-emotion based on EEG from the cognitively impaired elderly (CNE) and the cognitively normal elderly (CIE) participants viewing different color Ardisia mamillata Hance and (2) to determine which color Ardisia mamillata Hance has greater benefits for boosting their neuro-emotions.MethodsThe cognitive function of the participants was judged by using the revised Chinese version of the Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) scale combined with the daily cognitive performance of the participants, and the participants were divided into the cognitive normal elderly (CNE) and the cognitive impairment elderly (CIE). A total of 10 CNE volunteers and 10 CIE volunteers were recruited as participants for this study. For this study, two varieties of Ardisia mamillata Hance, green tiger tongue (GTT) with green leaves and red tiger tongue (RTT) with reddish brown leaves, were observed as plant materials. In total, six emotional indexes, including stress, engagement, interest, excitement, focus, and relaxation, were then measured by electroencephalography (EEG).ResultsRTT had the most positive effect on EEG neuro-emotion in the CNE group, with significant reductions in stress, engagement, and focus in the RTT test, while the combination of GTT+RTT had a positive effect on EEG neuro-emotions in the CIE group, with significant reductions in engagement and focus in the GTT+RTT test. No statistically significant differences were found for the interest, excitement, and relaxation index in the CNE and CIE participants in all tests.ConclusionSignificant reductions were observed in stress, engagement, and focus values of the CIE participants in the RTT test, which indicated that the CNE participants were more relaxed. RTT is a reddish brown and warm color plant, so the CNE individuals should always have the warm color plants indoors or outdoors, which could help boost their neuro-emotions. Significant reductions were observed in engagement and focus values of the CIE participants in the GTT+RTT test, which indicated that the CIE participants were more relaxed. The combination of GTT+RTT test shows the combination cold and warm color plants; therefore, the CIE individuals should always have a combination of cool and warm color plants indoors or outdoors, which could help boost their EEG neuro-emotions.

Primula forbesii Franch. is a unique biennial herb with a strong floral fragrance, making it an excellent material for studying the aroma characteristics of the genus Primula. The floral scent is an important ornamental trait that facilitates fertilization. However, the molecular mechanism regulating the floral scent in Primula is unknown. In order to better understand the biological mechanisms of floral scents in this species, this study used RNA sequencing analysis to discuss the first transcriptome sequence of four flowering stages of P. forbesii, which generated 12 P. forbesii cDNA libraries with 79.64 Gb of clean data that formed 51,849 unigenes. Moreover, 53.26% of the unigenes were annotated using public databases. P. forbesii contained 44 candidate genes covering all known enzymatic steps for the biosynthesis of volatile terpenes, the major contributor to the flower’s scent. Finally, 1-deoxy-d-xylulose 5-phosphate synthase gene of P. forbesii (PfDXS2, MK370094), the first key enzyme gene in the 2-c-methyl-d-erythritol 4-phosphate (MEP) pathway of terpenoids, was cloned and functionally verified using virus-induced gene silencing (VIGs). The results showed that PfDXS2-silencing significantly reduced the relative concentrations of main volatile terpenes. This report is the first to present molecular data related to aroma metabolites biosynthesis pathways and the functional characterization of any P. forbesii gene. The data on RNA sequencing provide comprehensive information for further analysis of other plants of the genus Primula.

Lysine crotonylation is a protein post-translational modification that has been newly discovered in recent years. There are few studies on the lysine crotonylation of proteins in plants, and their functions in response to cold stress are still unclear. In this study, the chrysanthemum (Chrysanthemum morifolium Ramat.) glutathione peroxidase (GPX) gene was selected and named DgGPX1, and was found to be responsive to low temperature. Overexpression of DgGPX1 improved the cold resistance of transgenic chrysanthemum by increasing GPX activity to reduce the accumulation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) under low-temperature conditions. Furthermore, the level of DgGPX1 lysine crotonylation at lysine (K) 220 decreased under low temperature in chrysanthemum. Lysine decrotonylation of DgGPX1 at K220 further increased GPX activity to reduce ROS accumulation under cold stress, and thereby enhanced the cold resistance of chrysanthemum. The above results show that lysine decrotonylation of DgGPX1 at K220 increases GPX activity to resist cold stress in chrysanthemum.

The temperature and humidity control of a pig house is a complex multivariable control problem. How to keep the temperature and humidity in a pig house within a normal range is the problem to be solved in this paper. The traditional threshold-based environmental control system cannot meet this requirement. In this paper, an intelligent control system of temperature and humidity in a pig house based on machine learning and a fuzzy control algorithm is proposed. We use sensors to collect the temperature and humidity in the pig house and store these data in chronological order. Then, we use these time series data to train the GRU model and then use the GRU model to predict the temperature and humidity change curve in the pig house in the next 24 hours. Finally, the mathematical model of the pig house and related equipment is established, and the output power of the related equipment is calculated based on the prediction results of GRU so as to effectively regulate the indoor temperature and humidity. The experimental results show that compared with the threshold-based environmental control system, our system reduces the abnormal temperature and humidity by about 90%.

The livestock of Pakistan includes different animal breeds utilized for milk farming and exporting worldwide. Buffalo have a high milk production rate, and Pakistan is the third-largest milk-producing country, and its production is increasing over time. Hence, it is essential to recognize the best Buffalo breed for a high milk- and meat yield to meet the world’s demands and breed production. Pakistan has the second-largest number of buffalos among countries worldwide, where the Neli-Ravi breed is the most common. The extensive demand for Neli and Ravi breeds resulted in the new cross-breed “Neli-Ravi” in the 1960s. Identifying and segregating the Neli-Ravi breed from other buffalo breeds is the most crucial concern for Pakistan’s dairy-production centers. Therefore, the automatic detection and classification of buffalo breeds are required. In this research, a computer-vision-based recognition framework is proposed to identify and classify the Neli-Ravi breed from other buffalo breeds. The proposed framework employs self-activated-based improved convolutional neural networks (CNN) combined with self-transfer learning. Moreover, feature maps extracted from CNN are further transferred to obtain rich feature vectors. Different machine learning (Ml) classifiers are adopted to classify the feature vectors. The proposed framework is evaluated on two buffalo breeds, namely, Neli-Ravi and Khundi, and one additional target class contains different buffalo breeds collectively called Mix. The proposed research achieves a maximum of 93% accuracy using SVM and more than 85% accuracy employing recent variants.

ZnO nanoparticles (NPs) were synthesized using a hydrothermal method. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) and X-ray diffraction have been used for characterizing the synthesized ZnO NPs. An electrochemical sensor was fabricated using ZnO NPs–modified glassy carbon electrode for simultaneous determination of ascorbic acid (AA), dopamine (DA), and uric acid (UA). The proposed electrochemical sensor exhibited excellent detection performance toward three analytes, demonstrating that it can potentially be applied in clinical applications. The results indicated the ZnO NPs–modified electrode can detect AA in the concentrations range between 50 and 1,000 μM. The ZnO NPs–modified electrode can detect DA in the concentrations range between 2 and 150 μM. The ZnO NPs–modified electrode can detect UA in the concentrations range between 0.2 and 150 μM. The limits of detections of AA, DA, and UA using ZnO NPs–modified electrode were calculated to be 18.4, 0.75, and 0.11 μM, respectively.

Soil salinity represents a major constraint in the growth of chrysanthemum. Therefore, improving salinity tolerance of chrysanthemum has become an important research direction in tolerance breeding. Multiprotein bridging factor 1 (MBF1) is an evolutionarily highly conserved transcriptional co-activator in archaea and eukaryotes and has been reported to play important roles to respond to abiotic stresses. Here, a MBF1 gene induced by salt stress was isolated and functionally characterized from Dendranthema grandiflorum and name as DgMBF1. Overexpression of DgMBF1 in chrysanthemum increased the tolerance of plants to high salt stress compared to wild type (WT). It also showed fewer accumulations of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), superoxide anion (O2−), higher activities of antioxidant enzymes, more content of proline and soluble sugar (SS) and more favorable K+/Na+ ratio than those of WT under salt stress. In addition, the expression level of genes related to antioxidant biosynthesis, proline biosynthesis, glyco-metabolism and K+/Na+ homeostasis was statistically significant higher in the DgMBF1-overexpressed lines than that in WT. These results demonstrated that DgMBF1 is a positive regulator in response to salt stress and could serve as a new candidate gene for salt-tolerant plant breeding.

The chrysanthemum DgLsL gene, homologous with tomato Ls , is one of the earliest expressed genes controlling axillary meristem initiation. In this study, the wild-type chrysanthemum (CW) and DgLsL -overexpressed line 15 (C15) were used to investigate the regulatory mechanism of axillary bud development in chrysanthemum. Transcriptome sequencing was carried out to detect the differentially expressed genes of the axillary buds 0 h, 24 h and 48 h after decapitation. The phenotypic results showed that the number of axillary buds of C15 was significantly higher than CW. A total of 9,224 DEGs were identified in C15-0 vs. CW-0, 10,622 DEGs in C15-24 vs. CW-24, and 8,929 DEGs in C15-48 vs. CW-48.GO and KEGG pathway enrichment analyses showed that the genes of the flavonoid, phenylpropanoids and plant hormone pathways appeared to be differentially expressed, indicating their important roles in axillary bud germination.
