【Objective】 The increase in atmospheric CO2 and the associated global warming is expected to affect plant growth and development. This paper investigates the spatiotemporal variation in vegetation phenological traits and peak NDVI of plants in Hetao Irrigation District in Inner Mongolia. 【Method】 The analysis was based on MOD13Q1 data from 2001 to 2021. The impact of climatic factors on spatiotemporal variation in the start of season SOS, the end of season (EOS), the length of season (LOS), the peak of season (POS), and the normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) of the vegetations in the region was analyzed using the two-logistic and four-parameter model. 【Result】 The SOS started from the end of May to the middle of June, and ended from the middle of September to the beginning of October. The annual peak LOS and POS ranged from 95 to 116 days, and from 200 to 220 days, respectively. The annual peak NDVI ranged from 0.5-0.7. Climate change delayed the onset of SOS, reduced LOS, and elevated peak NDVI. Additionally, the delayed SOS contributed to the decrease in LOS. The changes in EOS and POS with climate were consistent. SOS, EOS and POS were negatively correlated to temperature and positively correlated to precipitation. The peak NDVI was positively correlated to temperature and precipitation. 【Conclusion】 The vegetation phenology and peak NDVI in the Hetao Irrigation District were spatially heterogeneous, and the impact of climatic factors on them also varied.

Objective To explore the related factors of perioperative diarrhea in cadaveric renal transplant recipients. Methods A case-control trial was conducted on 545 recipients receiving cadaveric renal transplantation in the Affiliated Hospital of Guizhou Medical University from July 2017 to December 2021. Their clinical data during perioperative period were collected, and then all recipients were divided into the diarrhea group (n=207) and non-diarrhea group (n=338). Their age, gender, body mass index (BMI), duration of operation, dialysis types, type 2 diabetes or not, immune induction regimen, mycophenolic acid (MPA) types, infection prevention regimen, preoperative enema, and occurrence of delayed graft function (DGF) were observed and recorded. Multivariate stepwise logistic regression analysis was used to analyze the factors related to the perioperative diarrhea in these recipients. Results The incidence of perioperative diarrhea was 37.98% (207/545). The occurrence time of diarrhea was in 5.90±6.94 d after transplantation, and 71.98% (149/207) of diarrheal patients occurred within 3 d. Univariate analysis showed that significant differences were observed in age, gender, BMI, type 2 diabetes, immune induction regimen, antibiotic prevention regimen, preoperative enema, and post-operative DGF occurrence between the diarrhea and non-diarrhea groups. Multivariate stepwise logistic regression analysis indicated that overweight(OR=1.074, 95%CI: 1.011~1.141), male (OR=1.596, 95%CI: 1.032~2.470), post-operative DGF (OR=3.001, 95%CI: 1.712~5.260) and use of piperacillin after transplantation (OR=3.119, 95%CI: 1.918~5.074) were independent risk factors for perioperative diarrhea in cadaveric kidney transplant recipients. Conclusion Overweight, male, DGF and piperacillin use after transplantation may be the risk factors of perioperative diarrhea in cadaveric transplant recipients.

Aim: Kidney transplant recipients are at high risk of fracture due to many factors such as nutritional status, hyperparathyroidism, acidosis and steroid administration. The current meta‐analysis aimed to comprehensively analyse the incidence and risk factors of fracture in kidney transplant recipients. Methods: A systematic search on Embase, Web of Science, PubMed and Cochrane Library until November 2023 was performed. RStudio software was used to analyse data. Results: Twenty‐eight eligible studies containing 310 530 kidney transplant recipients were included in the analysis. The pooled incidence of fracture was 10% (95% confidence interval [CI]: 7%–13%) generally. When divided by regions, it was further observed that the pooled incidence of fracture was 13% (95% CI: 9%–17%) in Europe, 11% (95% CI: 6%–16%) in North America, 7% (95% CI: 3%–11%) in Asia. Regarding the risk factors, pooled analysis revealed that age of recipient (hazard ratio [HR] = 1.50, 95% CI: 1.17–1.91), female sex (HR = 1.45, 95% CI: 1.36–1.53), pretransplantation diabetes (HR = 1.76, 95% CI: 1.58–1.97), pretransplantation fracture history (HR = 2.28, 95% CI: 1.86–2.78), dialysis duration (HR = 1.09, 95% CI: 1.01–1.17) and deceased donor (HR = 1.21, 95% CI: 1.05–1.39) related to higher risk of fracture. The general quality of included studies was acceptable, and no publication bias existed except for the analysis between age of recipient and fracture incidence; further trim and fill method indicated age of recipient showed a correlation trend with the fracture incidence without the statistical significance. Conclusion: The pooled incidence of fracture reaches 10% in kidney transplant recipients, which relates to age of recipient, female sex, pretransplantation diabetes or fracture history, dialysis duration and decease donor. A widespread case of discontinuity shearing is found among local shallow rock blocks sliding along non-planer, rough, non-anchored discontinuities, which is characterized by an initial normal load in addition to free subsequent changes in local normal load/stiffness, provoked by shear dilatancy (INL). The existing direct shear apparatuses of rock discontinuities fitted for those cases are rare, and there is a lack of understanding of the shear behaviours of discontinuities under such INL boundary conditions. Here, we develop an INL direct shear tester of discontinuities for shear strength. This tester takes advantage of the direct shear test apparatus modified after the YZ-5 model without a servo-controlled system to permit the accomplishment of those boundary conditions. Shear behaviours of unfilled and infilled discontinuities under INL boundary conditions are investigated. Moreover, the possible influence of clay content on those shear behaviours of infilled discontinuities is clarified. The developed tester made it possible to test the shear performance of the local shallow rock blocks sliding along non-planer, rough, non-anchored discontinuities. This work contributes to a limited body of research on the shear behaviours of discontinuities under those INL boundary conditions. Limitations of this work are also revealed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The amorphous form of poorly soluble drugs is physically unstable and prone to crystallization, resulting in decreased solubility and bioavailability. However, the conventional accelerated stability test for amorphous drugs is time-consuming and inaccurate. Therefore, there is an urgent need to develop rapid and accurate stability assessment technology. This study used the antitumor drug nilotinib free base as a model drug. The degree of disorder and physical stability in the amorphous form was assessed by applying the pair distribution function (PDF) and principal component analysis (PCA) methods based on powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD) data. Specifically, the assessment conditions, such as the PDF interatomic distance range, PXRD detector type, and PXRD diffraction angle range were also optimized. The results showed that more reliable PCA data could be obtained when the PDF interatomic distance range was 0–15 Å. When the PXRD detector was a semiconductor-type detector, the PDF data obtained were more accurate than other detectors. When the PXRD diffraction angle range was 5–40°, the intermolecular arrangement of the amorphous drugs could be accurately predicted. Finally, the accelerated stability test also showed that under the above-optimized conditions, this method could accurately and rapidly assess the degree of disorder and physical stability in the amorphous form of drugs, which has obvious advantages compared with the accelerated stability test.
