17. Early Identification and Characteristics of Potential Landslides in Xiaojiang Basin, Yunnan Province, China Using Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar Technology.

Abstract

The Xiaojiang Basin ranks among the global regions with the highest density of geological hazards. Landslides, avalanches, and debris flows represent significant threats to the safety of residents and their properties, impeding sustainable development. This study utilized three InSAR techniques to monitor surface deformations in the basin, using the standard deviation of these measurements as a stability threshold to identify potential landslides. A systematic analysis of landslide development characteristics was then conducted. Key findings include the following: (1) The annual average deformation velocity in the basin from 2018 to 2021 ranged from −25.36 to 24.40 mm/year, identifying 212 potential landslides. (2) Deformation analysis of a typical landslide in Caizishan showed consistent detection of significant surface changes by all three InSAR methods. Seasonal deformation linked to summer rainfall exacerbates the movement in elevated landslides. (3) Landslides predominantly occur in fragile geological formations such as sandstone, mudstone, and kamacite on slopes of 20° to 40°. These landslides, typically covering less than 0.1 km2, are mostly found on barren and grassland terrains adjacent to lower debris gullies, with a relative elevation difference of under 300 m and an aspect range of 90° to 270°. A high kernel density value of 0.3 or higher was noted, with 86.8% influenced by regional tectonic activities, including fault zones. The results demonstrate that natural environmental factors primarily drive landslides in the Xiaojiang Basin, which pose significant threats to the safety of nearby residents. 22. Effect of chronic deltamethrin exposure on brain transcriptome and metabolome of juvenile crucian carp.

Abstract

Deltamethrin (Del), a widely administered pyrethroid insecticide, has been established as a common contaminant of the freshwater environment and detected in many freshwater ecosystems. In this study, we investigated the changes in brain transcriptome and metabolome of crucian carp after exposure to 0.6 μg/L Del for 28 days. Elevated MDA levels and inhibition of SOD activity indicate damage to the antioxidant system. Moreover, a total of 70 differential metabolites (DMs) were identified using the liquid chromatography‐mass spectrometry, including 32 upregulated and 38 downregulated DMs in the Del‐exposed group. The DMs associated with chronic Del exposure were enriched in steroid hormone biosynthesis, fatty acid metabolism, and glycerophospholipid metabolism for prostaglandin G2, 5‐oxoeicosatetraenoic acid, progesterone, androsterone, etiocholanolone, and hydrocortisone. Transcriptomics analysis revealed that chronic Del exposure caused lipid metabolism disorder, endocrine disruption, and proinflammatory immune response by upregulating the pla2g4, cox2, log5, ptgis, lcn, and cbr expression. Importantly, the integrative analysis of transcriptomics and metabolomics indicated that the arachidonic acid metabolism pathway and steroid hormone biosynthesis were decisive processes in the brain tissue of crucian carp after Del exposure. Furthermore, Del exposure perturbed the tight junction, HIF‐1 signaling pathway, and thyroid hormone signaling pathway. Remote sensing monitoring of aquatic vegetation is critical to the water quality evaluation of plateau lakes. To obtain a clear understanding of the water environment status of Dianchi Lake, a GF-5 hyperspectral characteristics-based optimal NDVI approach was employed to quantify the aquatic vegetation cover and analyze water quality. By characteristic bands recognition, the optimal NDVI was obtained; the spatial distribution of aquatic plants and water quality in Dianchi Lake were then analyzed. Results showed the following: (1) For Caohai, the optimal NDVI value was calculated by B86 in the red band range and B151 in the near-infrared band range, which achieve the best spectral response. For Waihai, the respective bands were B86 in the red band range and B99 in the near-infrared band range. (2) We also found significant regional differences in aquatic plants distribution for the study area. Caohai was dominated by aquatic plants and high-quality water areas only occurred in the northern tip. While the situation for Waihai was much optimistic, areas with poor water quality were mainly found in the north and south parts. Water quality also showed a descending trend from the lakeside zone to the lake center. (3) By comparing to previous studies, we concluded that policy interventions and water protection measures carried out by the government during the past years are extremely effective. The optimal NDVI method provides a reliable evaluation and is potentially transferable to other plateau lake areas as a robust approach for the rapid assessment of water quality.

Abstract

To solve point cloud registration, a novel solution to planar feature-based registration of point clouds was proposed in this study according to dual quaternion description based on the constraint of planar feature. The normal vector of the homologous feature plane should be kept parallel according to the registration, and the points on the plane should satisfy the planar equation. Moreover, the modified Levenberg-Marquardt method was adopted to complete the registration model, so as to avoid inappropriate initial values from causing non-convergence of the iteration.
