Stabilized Lithium Metal Powder (SLMP®) was applied in graphite anode and the effects of this prelithiation method to cell performance were investigated. Performance of prelithiated cells was compared with that of regular graphite based cells. The first cycle capacity loss of SLMP prelithiated cell was largely reduced and the corresponding first cycle Coulombic efficiency was significantly improved. The graphite/NMC cell with SLMP prelithiation but without any standard cell formation process showed better cycle performance than that of none SLMP containing cell with standard formation process. Prelithiation of graphite electrode with SLMP promote stable solid electrolyte interface (SEI) formation on the surface of graphite anode. Application of SLMP in lithium-ion battery thus provides an effective method to enhance capacity, and promises a low cost SEI formation process. This also implies the potential use of other promising anode materials, such as Si and Sn that have large first cycle capacity loss, in commercial lithium-ion batteries. © 2014 Published by Elsevier Ltd.

Inner and outer coffin, symbolising the housing condition of the owner when he is alive, originated from the late Middle Neolithic period. Inner and outer coffin system is a result of social stratification, and is a symbol for identity and social status. The system was formed in the Taihu and Haidai area in the late period of the Longshan culture. After its development during the Xia, Shang, and Western Zhou Dynasty, it became a multi-inner and outer coffin system. This system continued until the Western Han Dynasty and formed outer outer-coffin, cypress outer coffin with the timber headed-in and other forms. Besides, the cliff cave tomb and brick-chambered tomb as substitutions for the outer coffin appeared. Inner and outer coffin was no longer the main symbol of identity because multi-inner and outer coffin system dwindled since the middle and late period of the Western Han Dynasty. SUMMARY Three porous organic polymers (POPs) containing carborane were successfully synthesized as adsorbents for gas storage applications, particularly for hydrogen storage. The current physisorption-based materials generally suffer from low isosteric heat of adsorption toward hydrogen molecules. To enhance the interaction between the adsorbent hydrogen, we prepared a series of POPs containing highly electron-deficient carborane components. These polymers have narrow pore size distribution with majority of the dimensions falling in the 0.7- to 1.0-nm range. High Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET)-specific surface areas up to 1023 m2/g were obtained. Hydrogen adsorption capacities at 77, 195, and 298 K were measured using a Sievert isotherm apparatus. This article describes the synthesis of four porous polymerscontainingNi–porphyrin units with Brunauer–Emmet–Teller(BET) specific surface areas up to 1711 m2/g achieved.The isotherm gas adsorptions of hydrogen, methane and carbon dioxideover these polymers were measured. The adsorption selectivity formethane and carbon dioxide over nitrogen were also investigated. Whilethe initial isosteric heat of adsorption (ΔHads) was around 8–9 kJ/molfor hydrogen, it reached 23 kJ/mol for methane and 29 kJ/mol for carbondioxide. BaWO4 crystals with different morphology, such as olive-like, flake-like, and whisker-like structure have been successfully prepared through a hydrothermal process in the presence of different surfactants—C17H33COOK, C19H39COOK, and C25H51COOK, respectively. X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) shows that the crystals have been well crystallized. The observation results of scanning electron microscopy (SEM) on the obtained samples have revealed that the selection of surfactants and the concentration of the starting materials can highly affect the morphology and size of BaWO4 crystals.
