Environmental pollution has become a pressing global issue, severely threatening human health and ecosystems. As an emerging driver of economic development in countries worldwide, the digital economy (DE) has the potential to enhance resource utilization efficiency and promote the development of clean technologies, thereby reducing environmental pollution. Based on the panel data of 267 cities in China from 2012 to 2021, the spatial econometric model is used to test the impact of DE on environmental pollution. The mediating effect model is used to explore the transmission mechanism of DE affecting environmental pollution. The panel threshold model is used to examine the threshold effect of marketization. The results are as follows: (1) DE can significantly reduce environmental pollution. The conclusion is still valid after conducting robustness tests such as selecting historical data as instrumental variables and the "Broadband China" pilot as a quasi-natural experiment. (2) From the perspective of transmission mechanism, DE can reduce environmental pollution through green technology innovation and industrial structure upgrading. (3) From the perspective of spatial spillover effect, DE can reduce the environmental pollution level of surrounding cities. (4) From the perspective of threshold effect, DE has obvious market-oriented single threshold effect on environmental pollution. When the marketization level crosses the threshold of 11.6611, the emission reduction effect of DE is significant. (5) From the perspective of heterogeneity, DE has a heterogeneous impact on environmental pollution in cities with different geographic locations, resource endowments and administrative level. Regarding geographical heterogeneity, DE can effectively reduce environmental pollution in eastern and central regions, but has no significant impact on environmental pollution in western regions. Regarding the heterogeneity of resource endowment, compared to non-resource-based cities, resource-based cities suffer more from the negative effects of DE on their environment. Regarding the heterogeneity of administrative levels, compared with non-central cities, the DE of central cities has a greater emission reduction effect. Based on empirical results, this paper proposes strategic recommendations in areas such as enhancing the application of DE in emission reduction, upgrading industrial structures, promoting green technology innovation, and improving the level of marketization. Improving total factor carbon emission efficiency (TCE) is the key to achieving carbon emission reduction targets while ensuring economic growth. In this paper, the global Malmquist index based on the SBM model is used to measure TCE of 283 cities in China from 2011 to 2019. On this basis, this paper uses the spatial econometric model and intermediary effect model to empirically analyze the impact of industrial co-agglomeration on TCE and its transmission mechanism. Furthermore, considering the differences in geographical location and resource endowment among regions, this paper analyzes the heterogeneous effect of industrial collaboration agglomeration on TCE in different regions and cities. The results show that: (1) Industrial co-agglomeration can improve TCE, and its main transmission channel is technological innovation. (2) Industrial co-agglomeration has a positive spatial spillover effect. Industrial co-agglomeration in one region can improve the TCE in the surrounding regions. (3) Industrial co-agglomeration of cities with different geographic locations and resource endowments has a heterogeneous effect on TCE. Regarding geographical heterogeneity, the industrial co-agglomeration in the eastern region has the greatest promoting effect on TCE, followed by the central region. However, the impact of industrial co-agglomeration in the western region on TCE is not significant. Regarding resource endowment heterogeneity, the industrial co-agglomeration in non-resource-based cities has a greater promoting effect on TCE than that in resource-based cities. Learning about the regional business model is essential for the sustainable development of the regional economy. From the perspective of urban renewable energy, city A is the product of energy development. This paper analyzes the current situation and existing problems of the industrial model of city A through fuzzy k-means clustering algorithm. The results show that although the optimization of industrial structure in city A has achieved some results, the more intuitive problems mainly include low labor productivity of the primary industry, strong resource dependence, insufficient extension of industrial chain, and slow development of technology intensive industries. This paper uses fuzzy k-means clustering algorithm to select the leading industries from the perspective of the current situation of leading industries, urban development pattern, and regional policies in city A. The results show that, as a renewable resource-based city, the leading industries suitable for the current development of city A include manufacturing, power, alkali gas and water production and supply, transportation, warehousing and postal industry, leasing, and business services. The results of fuzzy k-means clustering algorithm are quite excellent, and the accuracy rate is 93.3%. This paper uses the grey dynamic linear programming model to predict the future development of the Urban A business model and combines the selection of key functions to obtain the best business model: deep and efficient technical equipment as a good goal, achieved through regional logistics, transportation, new services, etc., to enhance the output value of the tertiary industry in city A and optimize the internal structure of the secondary industry in city A. • We report in situ S isotope analysis for multiple types of sulfides by LA-MC-ICPMS. • In situ S isotope analysis is applied to the study of the Erlihe Zn-Pb ore deposit. • Sulfur of the massive ores is likely sourced from the TSR process for the deposit. Sulfur isotopic composition is useful for tracing sources of ore-forming materials. In situ sulfur isotope analysis by laser ablation coupled with multi-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (LA-MC-ICPMS) has an advantage over traditional bulk analysis in tracing sources of sulfur in an ore deposit that has complex mineral types and multiple ore-forming processes. However, in using this method, matrix effects exist widely for sulfides from ore deposits. In this work, matrix effects of different sulfides were examined by matrix-unmatched tests, in which the δ34S values of different types of sulfides were calibrated against a laboratory pyrite standard. The results show that the δ34S values of pyrrhotite, chalcopyrite, molybdenite, sphalerite, and arsenopyrite are in agreement with the reference values, suggesting that the matrix effect was negligible. However, a significant matrix effect occurred in the analyses of Ag 2 S and galena, leading to significant deviations in δ34S values of up to 1.2‰ and 3.2‰, respectively. The matrix effect occurred not only during the laser ablation stage but also during the transition of ions into the mass spectrometer, resulting in significant space charge effects caused by heavy-mass elements. Thus, pyrite can be used as an external bracketing standard for sulfides that do not have a heavy-mass matrix. Based on our matrix-effect study, the following available external standards were selected for the in situ sulfur isotope analysis of complex-type minerals from the Erlihe Zn-Pb deposit. The coarse-grained sphalerite grains (Sph1) and euhedral to subhedral pyrite grains (Py1) from massive ores have δ34S values ranging from 9.2‰ to 18.1‰. Such heavy sulfur isotopic compositions indicate the derivation of sulfur from the deposits of seawater sulfate, related to a thermochemical reducing process. Fine-grained sphalerite (Sph2) and pyrite (Py2) from vein and disseminated ores coexist with pyrrhotite and chalcopyrite, and have relatively light sulfur isotopic compositions, with δ34S values of about 7‰. The slightly positive δ34S values are similar to those of sulfides from sulfide-rich quartz veins, which contain δ34S values of about 4‰, and granodiorite rocks, with δ34S values of about 6‰. Based on previous studies, the light sulfur of the late-stage sulfides may have resulted from a metamorphic or magmatic hydrothermal event during the Indosinian orogeny. In situ sulfur analysis by LA-MC-ICPMS provides new evidence for sources of sulfur from each stage of mineralization in the Erlihe deposit, suggesting that this is a promising method for studying complex ore deposits. In this work, we improved the sensitivity of a multi-collector-inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry system by increasing the vacuum of the expansion chamber using a high-speed EH mechanical booster pump (EH500, 500 m3 h−1, BOC Edwards) in conjunction with a standard E2M80 pump (80 m3 h−1, BOC Edwards). The vacuum was improved from 1.0 mbar to less than 0.5 mbar. The sample ion yield for heavy isotopes, such as those of Pb, was improved from 0.047% to 0.072% in the wet-plasma mode (sample uptake rate, 113 μL min−1), and from 1.35% to 1.84% in the dry-plasma mode (sample uptake rate 105 μL min−1); the variation in the background intensity was less than 1.3 mV for all the Faraday cups. Thus, the sample ion yield in the wet-plasma mode was enhanced more effectively than that in the dry-plasma mode owing to a slightly larger orifice in the wet cone setup. The accuracies for all the isotopes tested, including those of non-traditional metal ones, in both modes were identical to previously published data within an error of 2 s. These results indicate that improving the vacuum at the interface has no effect on the accuracy of isotope measurements and is an effective method for improving the detectability of isotopic compositions for bulk solution analysis with low element contents and the spatial resolution for measurements performed using the laser-ablation sampling technique. We herein report the coupling of a nanosecond laser ablation system with a large-scale multi-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (Nu1700 MC-ICPMS, NP-1700) and a conventional Nu Plasma II MC-ICPMS (NP-II) for the simultaneous laser ablation and determination of in situ S and Pb isotopic compositions of sulfide minerals. We found that the required aerosol distribution between the two spectrometers depended on the Pb content of the sample. For example, for a sulfide containing 100–3000 ppm Pb, the aerosol was distributed between the NP-1700 and the NP-II spectrometers in a 1:1 ratio, while for lead contents >3000 and <100 ppm, these ratios were 5:1 and 1:3, respectively. In addition, S isotopic analysis showed a pronounced matrix effect, so a matrix-matched external standard was used for standard-sample bracketing correction. The NIST NBS 977 (NBS, National Bureau of Standards; NIST, National Institute of Standards & Technology) Tl (thallium) dry aerosol internal standard and the NIST SRM 610 (SRM, standard reference material) external standard were employed to obtain accurate results for the analysis of Pb isotopes. In tandem experiments where airflow conditions were similar to those employed during stand-alone analyses, small changes in the aerosol carrier gas flow did not significantly influence the accurate determination of S and Pb isotope ratios. In addition, careful optimization of the flow ratio of the aerosol carrier (He) and makeup (Ar) gases to match stand-alone analytical conditions allowed comparable S and Pb isotope ratios to be obtained within an error of 2 s analytical uncertainties. Furthermore, the results of tandem analyses obtained using our method were consistent with those of previously reported stand-alone techniques for the S and Pb isotopes of chalcopyrite, pyrite, galena, and sphalerite, thus indicating that this method is suitable for the simultaneous analysis of S and Pb isotopes of natural sulfide minerals, and provides an effective tool to determine S and Pb isotope compositions of sulfides formed through multi-stage deposition routes. High-purity N was used to increase the mobile phase flow rate during ion purification of ion-exchange resin. This was performed to improve the efficiency of isotope separation and purification, and to meet the efficiency requirements of rapid multiple-collector-inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (MC-ICPMS) analysis. For Cu isotope separation, our results indicated that at a gas flow rate >60 mL/min, the separation chromatographic peaks broadened and the recovery rate decreased to <99.2%. On the other hand, no significant change in the Cu peaks was observed at a gas flow rate of 20 mL/min and the recovery rate was determined to be >99.9%. The Cu isotope ratio, measured by the standard-sample bracketing method, agreed with reference data within a ±2 SD error range. The separation time was reduced from the traditional 10 h (without N) to 4 h (with N), indicating that the efficiency was more than doubled. Moreover, Sr and Nd isotope separation in AGV-2 (US Geological Survey andesite standard sample) accelerated with a 20 mL/min gas flow, demonstrating that with the passage of N, the purified liquid comprised Rb/Sr and Sm/Nd ratios of <0.000 049 and <0.000 001 5, respectively. This indicated an effective separation of Rb from Sr and Sm from Nd. MC-ICPMS could therefore be applied to accurately determine Sr and Nd isotope ratios. Camouflage skills are important for understanding the relationship between predators and prey in ecological systems. Mimicry is a common strategy used by creatures to alter their appearance in order to blend in with their surroundings and avoid detection. This paper unveils a previously unknown camouflage strategy that creates false object information and positions of an object in the visual range of radar sensor vision. A dispersion‐modulated illusionary metasurface to realize focal spot coding in a 3‐dimensional space to fit the radar imaging process is proposed. As the radar image indicates, an aircraft image is created by a flat metasurface plane with good polarization adaptation ability. Design, simulation, and experimental results validate the study. This camouflage strategy indicates the complexity of the food chain and can be used by both predators and prey, providing accessible insights for maintaining biological diversity. In this study, two new laboratory reference solutions for testing Cu isotopic composition were established and investigated. Two commercially available pure copper products, copper plate and copper wire, were dissolved in 1000-ml Teflon® bottles, to produce 200 μg ml−1 stock solutions (hereafter referred to as NWU-Cu-A and NWU-Cu-B), and cryogenically stored. The Cu isotopic compositions of the two samples were determined in three different laboratories using multi-collector inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry, and the Cu isotopic compositions obtained from the standard-sample bracketing method were consistent within the two standard deviation (2 s) range. The Cu isotopic compositions of the NWU-Cu-A and NWU-Cu-B standard solutions were δ65Cu = +0.91 ± 0.03‰ (2 s, n = 42) and δ65Cu = −0.05 ±0.03‰ (2 s, n = 49), respectively, relative to the reference material NIST SRM 976. Silicon isotope analysis traditionally uses a standard-sample bracketing (SSB) method that relies upon greater instrument stability than can be consistently expected. The following proposed method reduces the level of instrumental stability required for the analysis process and provides a valid solution for high-precision and accurate studies of Si isotopic compositions. Rock samples were dissolved by using alkali fusion and acidification. Silicon isotopes were purified with an ion exchange resin. Interfering peaks for isotopes were separated by using a Nu Plasma 1700 multi-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (MS) system in high-resolution mode ( M/Δ M > 8000 RP). Two magnesium isotopes (Mg and Mg) and three silicon isotopes (Si, Si, and Si) were analyzed in the same data collection cycle. Mg isotopes were used as an internal standard to calibrate the mass discrimination effects in MS analysis of Si isotopes in combination with the SSB method in order to reduce the effects of MS interference and instrumental mass discrimination on the accuracy of measurements. The conventional SSB method without the Mg internal standard and the proposed SSB method with Mg calibration delivered consistent results within two standard deviations. An in-situ microanalysis of Pb isotopic compositions in sulfide minerals is carried out by using femtosecond laser-ablation multi-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (fsLA-MC-ICP-MS). High-temperature-activated carbon was used to filter Hg contained in the carrier gas, which reduced the Hg background signal by 48% and also lowered the detection limit of the analysis. Fractionation and mass discrimination effects existing in the ICP-MS analytical processes were corrected using an internal reference Tl in conjunction with an external reference NIST SRM 610. The proposed method was used to analyze the Pb isotopic compositions of chalcopyrite, pyrite, and sphalerite from the Dulong Sn-Zn-In polymetallic ore district. The results showed that in this ore district, the sulfide minerals and different grains of the same sulfide mineral show a large variation in Pb content up to 1000-fold. The studied pyrites show relatively higher Pb contents and homogeneous Pb isotopic compositions, whereas the sphalerites have low Pb contents but most variable Pb isotopic compositions. It is suggested that the large variation of Pb isotopic composition may reflect a late hydrothermal superimposition on the primary sulfide formation. In addition, radiogenic Pb accumulated by radioactive decay of trace amounts of U over time in the host minerals may also be one of the causes for the large variation range of Pb content and Pb isotopic composition of those low-Pb sphalerites. Chalcopyrite and sphalerite grains with Pb content greater than 10 ppm presented a consistent Pb isotopic distribution, whereas all the sulfide grains with Pb content greater than 100 ppm had consistent Pb isotopic composition within 2s measurement uncertainties. The in-situ analysis of Pb isotopic composition agreed well with the results obtained by conventional chemical methods within 2s measurement uncertainties, indicating that the data obtained by fsLA-MC-ICP-MS are reliable. Additionally, this study indicates that the Pb isotopic composition could truthfully record the source of ore-forming minerals only for sulfide minerals with high Pb content. On the contrary, the Pb isotopic composition of low-Pb sulfide minerals may be affected by trace amounts of U in the host minerals that may lead to a highly radiogenic Pb isotope ratio. Lead isotopic compositions of international silicate glasses, feldspar and copper-based samples are obtained using femtosecond laser ablation multiple collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (fLA-MC-ICPMS). Some international glass standards for the microanalysis are applied to evaluate the method reported here. The Pb isotopic composition of these NIST glasses (SRM 610, 612, 614), USGS (BHVO-2G, BCR-2G, BIR-1G and GSD-1G) and MPI-DING glasses (GOR132-G, KL2-G, T1-G, StHs60/80-G) agree well with recommended values in 2 s error. One of 15 copper-based metals is found to have homogenized Pb isotope data and can be used as an external calibration standard and quality control sample for chalcopyrite, ancient coins, etc., to trace the genesis of metal deposit and culture exchange among different dynasties (GBW02137, 208Pb/ 204Pb = 37.9661 ± 0.0005 (2 s), 207Pb/ 204Pb = 15.5770 ± 0.0002 (2 s), 206Pb/ 204Pb = 17.7462 ± 0.0002 (2 s)). • A novel depth refinement algorithm that respects photo-consistency and edge preservation to correct misalignment between color-and-depth image pairs and fill missing depth information. • A novel adaptive view selection approach that effectively avoids selecting redundant and useless input views to improve the quality of synthesized images and the rendering speed. • A novel rendering algorithm providing high-quality free-viewpoint synthesized images, which is based on layered 3D warping to deal with occluded elements and lower the rendering complexity. Our aim is to give free-viewpoint photo-realistic rendering of real indoor scenes, using a sparse collection of RGB-D image as input. Image based rendering (IBR) is an effective way to achieve both realism and interactivity. However, there are several challenges for IBR: misalignment of object boundaries between color-and-depth image pairs often leads to ghost contours; projection errors result in the visibility failure; and useless and redundant input views often produce blurring images. To address these issues, we propose a pixel-to-pixel multi-view depth refinement method to produce pixel-accurate alignment between color-and-depth image pairs, and an adaptive view selection approach to avoid choosing redundant or useless input views. Furthermore, we propose a layered 3D warping to handle occluded elements. These components are designed to work together, reducing visual artifacts and providing plausible free-viewpoint synthesized images. The evaluation results indicate that our method achieves good performance on a wide variety of challenging scenes and performs best among popular IBR algorithms designed for dynamic scenes. Abstract: The Rad1-Rad9-Hus1 (9-1-1) complex serves a dual role as a DNA-damage sensor in checkpoint signaling and as a mediator in the DNA repair pathway. However, the intercellular mechanisms that regulate the 9-1-1 complex are poorly understood. Jab1, the fifth component of the COP9 signalosome complex, has a central role in the degradation of multiple proteins and is emerging as an important regulator in cancer development. Here, we tested the hypothesis that Jab1 controls the protein stability of the 9-1-1 complex via the proteosome pathway. We provide evidence that Jab1 physically associates with the 9-1-1 complex, and show that this association is mediated through direct interaction between Jab1 and Rad1, one of the subunits of the 9-1-1 complex. Importantly, Jab1 causes translocation of the 9-1-1 complex from the nucleus to the cytoplasm, mediating rapid degradation of the 9-1-1 complex via the 26 S proteasome. Furthermore, Jab1 significantly suppresses checkpoint signaling activation, DNA synthesis recovery from blockage and cell viability after replication stresses such as UV exposure, γ radiation and treatment with hydroxyurea. These results suggest that Jab1 is an important regulator for the stability of protein 9-1-1 control in cells, which may provide novel information on the involvement of Jab1 in the checkpoint and DNA repair signaling in response to DNA damage. Abstract: Serpentinized garnet peridotites from the Xugou peridotite body of the Sulu ultrahigh-pressure (UHP) metamorphic terrane, central eastern China, are refractory (olivines have Fo91.7–93.1), indicating their origin as residual mantle. Negative correlations between whole-rock MgO and TiO2, Al2O3, total Fe2O3 and CaO (r =−0.90 to −0.95) and positive correlations between whole-rock Al2O3 and CaO and incompatible elements [Li, V, Cu, Ga, Sr, Y, Zr, heavy rare earth elements (HREEs), Hf, Pb and U] (r =0.69 to 0.98) likely reflect melt depletion trends. Four highly refractory samples were selected for Re–Os isotopic analysis. Although they show evidence of variable enrichment of incompatible elements during serpentinization/metasomatism, no correlations exist between 187Re/188Os or 187Os/188Os with either La or Re (r =0.00 to 0.17). These results indicate that any Re addition was fairly recent and did not affect the Os isotopic composition significantly. The correlation between 187Os/188Os and 187Re/188Os ratios thus, most likely reflects an ancient melt extraction event. The T RD, T MA and errorchron ages of the Xugou peridotites are all similar, suggesting that these peridotites formed around 2.0 Ga ago. This age is similar to Os model ages of mantle peridotites from the Dabie terrane, but contrasts markedly with the Archean ages of the continental lithospheric mantle (CLM) beneath the eastern block of the North China craton (NCC). If we assume that the Dabie–Sulu belt formed by the Triassic collision of the Yangtze craton with the eastern block of NCC and that the Archean aged CLM of the latter persisted until the Triassic, the Paleoproterozoic ages suggest derivation of these Dabie–Sulu mantle peridotites from the Yangtze craton. A Yangtze craton origin is consistent with the existing tectonic model of the Dabie–Sulu UHP belt. Our results support the hypothesis that the crust and underlying lithospheric mantle of the Yangtze craton were subducted to depths of >180–200 km to form the world''s largest UHP belt. U-Pb zircon dating by LA-ICP-MS and SHRIMP for one olivine pyroxenite yields complex age populations including Mesozoic ages of 97-158 Ma and 228 ± 8.7 Ma, Early Paleozoic ages of 418-427 Ma, Paleoproterozoic age of 1844±13 Ma, Neoarchean age of 2541 ± 54 Ma and middle Archean age of 3123 ± 4.4 Ma. The 97-158 Ma and 228 ± 8.7 Ma zircons show typical igneous oscillatory zonation in CL images, suggesting two episodes of magmatic events. Overlapping of the 97-158 Ma ages with that of granulite xenoliths indicates that the Mesozoic granulite-facies metamorphism was induced by heating from the basaltic underplating at the base of the lower crust. Both processes lasted at least from about 158 to 97 Ma. Ages of 418 -427 Ma could be records of the subduction of Mongolia oceanic crust under the North China craton. Ages of 1.84 Ga, 2.54 Ga and 3.12 Ga correspond to the three important crust-mantle evolutionary events in the North China craton, and imply preservation of Precambrian lower crust in the present-day lower crust. Presents an analyzation about the use of the in situ zircon U-Pb dating method of LA-ICPMS. Consideration of the investigation of a 31 Ma old SHRIMP U-Pb age of the Yongsheng nepheline syenite from southern Jilin Province under different spot sizes; Reference to how the obtained ages are comparable with that of SHRIMP in both accuracy and precision; Findings that the age is also identical to that of the Yinmawanshan gabbro from the Liaodong Peninsula within error; Trend for both the Yongsheng nepheline syenite and the Yinmawanshan gabbro to represent the youngest known exposed intrusions in northeastern and even eastern China; Indication from the results that the Eocene mantle-derived magmatic underplating, and the rapid crustal uplifting of this region since 30 Ma; How the analyses also document extremely high LREE concentrations and relatively flat REE patterns for the zircons from the Yongsheng nepheline syenite, which represent a new type of zircon REE pattern.

A new matrix‐matched reference material (NWU‐Brt) with sulfur isotope ratios resembling those of natural barites has been developed for in situ S isotope measurements by laser ablation multi‐collector inductively coupled plasma‐mass spectrometry (LA‐MC‐ICP‐MS). A 100 g quantity of natural barite crystal was milled to ultra‐fine particles and sintered to a solid block using a fast hot‐pressing sintering technique (FHPS). We report δ34S ratios determined by isotope ratio mass spectrometry (IRMS), solution nebuliser multi‐collector inductively coupled plasma‐mass spectrometry (SN‐MC‐ICP‐MS) and LA‐MC‐ICP‐MS, involving up to six participating laboratories. The homogeneity of δ34S ratios of the synthesised barite was tested by LA‐MC‐ICP‐MS with an analytical spot size of 53 μm. The LA‐MC‐ICP‐MS results show that NWU‐Brt demonstrates a satisfactory homogeneous composition and is an appropriate material for calibrating δ34S ratios in barite. IRMS and SN‐MC‐ICP‐MS produced mean δ34S values of +14.17 ± 0.42‰ (2s) and +14.27 ± 0.23‰ (2s), respectively. The results of LA‐MC‐ICP‐MS analyses are consistent with the IRMS and SN‐MC‐ICP‐MS ratios within uncertainty. Deep learning has achieved great success on robotic vision tasks. However, when compared with other vision-based tasks, it is difficult to collect a representative and sufficiently large training set for six-dimensional (6D) object pose estimation, due to the inherent difficulty of data collection. In this paper, we propose the RobotP dataset consisting of commonly used objects for benchmarking in 6D object pose estimation. To create the dataset, we apply a 3D reconstruction pipeline to produce high-quality depth images, ground truth poses, and 3D models for well-selected objects. Subsequently, based on the generated data, we produce object segmentation masks and two-dimensional (2D) bounding boxes automatically. To further enrich the data, we synthesize a large number of photo-realistic color-and-depth image pairs with ground truth 6D poses. Our dataset is freely distributed to research groups by the Shape Retrieval Challenge benchmark on 6D pose estimation. Based on our benchmark, different learning-based approaches are trained and tested by the unified dataset. The evaluation results indicate that there is considerable room for improvement in 6D object pose estimation, particularly for objects with dark colors, and photo-realistic images are helpful in increasing the performance of pose estimation algorithms. This study presents a practical method for high-precision Fe isotope determination without column chromatography purification for iron-dominated mineral samples using multi-collector inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (MC-ICP-MS). A series of comparable experiments (with or without column chromatography) were performed to evaluate whether non-deviated Fe isotope ratios can be obtained directly by MC-ICP-MS using standard-sample bracketing (SSB) without column chromatography purification. Forty iron-dominated material/mineral samples (pure iron wire, pyrite, chalcopyrite, magnetite, hematite, siderite, goethite, pyrrhotite, arsenopyrite, specularite, ilmenite, limonite, lollingite, ilvaite, and Fe–Mn nodule) were investigated, and the results showed little bias in δ56Fe values compared with those of mineral materials via column chromatography purification, with Δδ56Fewithout–with ranging from −0.06‰ to +0.06‰. This means that Fe isotope ratios in Fe-dominated minerals can be achieved without column chromatography, due to the simple matrix and the stability of the machine by using the SSB method in high resolution wet plasma mode. The concentration effect and nitric acidity mismatch effects, as well as the matrix effect, were strictly assessed by MC-ICP-MS in high resolution wet plasma mode. Finally, a long-term reproducibility of better than ± 0.05‰ (n = 123, 2 sd) was achieved by repeatedly measuring pyrite without column chromatography over 6 months. Compared with the column chromatography purification method, the without column chromatography method significantly simplifies the chemical procedure and improves the efficiency of iron-dominated mineral Fe isotope analysis. Hydrous minerals in the hybridized zone at the slab-mantle interface play a critical role in retaining and transporting fluid mobile elements in subduction zones. The observed high B and As concentrations and high δ11B values in arc magmas were previously thought to have been resulted from the mechanical transport of forearc serpentinites down to subarc depths by mantle corner flows or through subduction channels because B, As, and Sb are mostly released during early stages of subduction. This study provides new insights into the recycling of B, As, and Sb in subduction zones via an in-situ study on a set of carbonate-bearing serpentinite samples from the Mianlue mélange complex in the Qinling Orogen. Petrological observations and bulk-rock Sr-Pb isotopes reveal that the Jianchaling serpentinites were formed by interactions between forearc peridotites and sediment-derived fluids at a shallow depth in the subduction channel. Some Jianchaling serpentinites experienced the lizardite to antigorite transition at 300–400 °C with infiltrations of CO 2 -rich fluids. In contrast, the Liangyazi antigorite serpentinites were produced at a greater depth. Antigorite grains in the Jianchaling serpentinites have lower Fe apfu than those in the Liangyazi serpentinites and most antigorite with geochemical data in the literature. Meanwhile, B, As, and Sb concentrations of Fe-poor antigorite from the Jianchaling serpentines (385–653 ppm B, 198–334 ppm As, and 6.24–8.01 ppm Sb) are not only higher than those of the Fe-rich antigorite from the Liangyazi serpentinites but also 2–3.5 times higher than those of the surrounding lizardite. The lower modal percentage of spinel and ferritchromite in antigorite veinlets, together with the lower bulk-rock FeO content of antigorite-lizardite serpentinites than that of lizardite serpentinites from the Jianchaling region, indicates that some FeO might be lost during the lizardite to antigorite transition. The presence of carbonate minerals in the antigorite veinlets and the remarkably high B, As, and Sb concentrations in the Jianchaling antigorite indicate that the penetrating fluids during the lizardite to antigorite transition are most likely derived from sediment and metabasite decarbonations at <350 °C. Infiltrations of CO 2 -rich fluids at the slab-mantle interface could buffer a relatively low pH to significantly enhance the mobility of Fe2+, which is produced by reduction of the cronstedtite component in lizardite or Fe3+ in magnetite during the lizardite to antigorite transition, and facilitate the formation of Fe-poor antigorite at the slab-mantle interface. The oxygen fugacity in such a CO 2 -rich water–rock system is also high enough for the occurrence of As5+ in the surrounding fluids. Therefore, once IVFe3+ is lost from the serpentine lattice structure during the lizardite to antigorite transition, B3+, As5+, and Sb5+ in the surrounding fluids can occupy the tetrahedral sites in the newly formed Fe-poor antigorite. The formation of Fe-poor antigorite at the slab-mantle interface is therefore made available to transport shallow slab-derived B, As, and Sb to a greater depth, where destabilization of antigorite at 600–700 °C liberates these elements into the arc magma source. This study compares three zircon synthesis techniques (synthesis, high-temperature and high-pressure sintering and fast hot-pressing sintering) for the preparation of reference materials for Hf isotope analysis of zircon by laser ablation multi-collector inductively-coupled plasma mass spectrometry (LA-MC-ICP-MS). Ultrafine milled zircon powder particles doped with Yb2O3 produced by wet milling were used to synthesize zircon samples by using high-temperature and high-pressure sintering and fast hot-pressing sintering techniques. Li–Mo flux was necessary to obtain synthetic zircon grains. Zr signals for synthetic zircon grains and high-temperature and high-pressure sintered zircon are consistent with those of natural zircons but higher than that of fast hot-pressing sintered zircon, indicating that high-temperature and high-pressure sintered zircon has approximated the theoretical maximum density due to high pressure. The Hf isotopic compositions of high-temperature and high-pressure sintered and fast hot-pressing sintered zircon are comparable to those of the initial starting materials, whereas the Hf isotopes in synthetic zircon grains deviate slightly from those of the initial Hf solution. Compared with Hf isotope ratios obtained by SN-MC-ICP-MS, all preparation techniques give reliable LA-MC-ICP-MS results, suggesting that all synthetic zircon samples have great potential as both tools for in situ method development and isotopic reference materials. In sample preparation and mass spectrometry analysis, sample dissolution, column chemistry, concentration mismatches, and matrix effects have significant potential for introducing analytical artifacts during Mg isotope analysis. Based on the low MgO content and undesirable matrix elements in felsic rocks, the development of well-characterized felsic standards is essential to reduce inter-laboratory mass bias, enable the assessment of data accuracy, and facilitate the comparison of chemical separation procedures in different laboratories. In this work, the homogeneity and long-term stability of two felsic rock standards, GSR-1 and RGM-2, were evaluated due to their low MgO contents. Furthermore, synthetic solutions with doped matrix elements were used to evaluate potential Mg isotope analytical artifacts using multi-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry. The accuracy and precision of Mg isotopic compositions in GSR-1 and RGM-2 were assessed by repeated measurements over twelve months. The long-term tests show that the Mg isotopic compositions of the two low MgO felsic rocks (GSR-1 and RGM-2) are homogenous among batches and can be used as low MgO reference materials for accuracy assessments of Mg isotopic analyses. The petrogenesis of aluminous A-type granites is a contentious subject. Here, we focused on the North Kudi pluton in the Western Kunlun orogen to investigate the origin and magmatic processes responsible for generating A-type granites. Samples from the North Kudi pluton are metaluminous to weakly peraluminous. K-feldspar granite samples are characterized by high alkali and Cl contents, high HFSE concentrations and FeO/MgO, low F content, negative Ba, Sr, P, Eu, and Ti anomalies, and high magma temperature (>903 °C), showing affinity to aluminous A-type granites. However, their 10,000 × Ga/Al ratios (1.86–3.18) are relatively lower than typical A-type granites. Quartz-monzonite displays similar Sr–Nd isotopic compositions and Ga/Al ratios with the K-feldspar granite but less pronounced negative Sr, P, and Ti anomalies and no discernable negative Ba and Eu anomalies. Fractional crystallization of alkali-rich, Cl-rich, and F-poor magmas can generate some typical geochemical characteristics of A-type granites (e.g., negative Ba, Sr, P, and Eu anomalies) but has little influence on Ga/Al ratios. The enriched Sr–Nd isotopic compositions, high Cl and alkali contents, arc-like geochemical features, and the involvement of slab-derived components, as indicated by high zircon Ce4+/Ce3+ (up to 503), suggest that the North Kudi pluton was possibly derived from partial melting of the metasomatized lithospheric mantle in the time of asthenosphere upwelling during the post-collisional stage. Sulfur isotopes are important tracers in various geochemical processes. A matrix-matched reference material is essential for in situ sulfur isotope ratio measurement in sphalerite (ZnS), an abundant zinc sulfide in base metal deposits. In this study, natural sphalerite powders (GBW07270) were ground into ultra-fine powders and then sintered by using a plasma-activated sintering (PAS) method at 1000 °C and 50 MPa for 10 minutes. The synthesized sphalerite has a smooth surface and dense structure, making it suitable for laser ablation analysis. To investigate whether the PAS-synthesized sphalerite is an appropriate matrix-matched reference material for in situ sulfur isotope determination, a large number of in situ S isotope measurements were performed on the PAS-synthesized sphalerite by laser ablation multi-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (LA-MC-ICP-MS). The LA-MC-ICP-MS results are highly consistent and yield a mean δ34SV-CDT value of −5.44 ± 0.20‰ (2SD, n = 1008), which agrees well with that measured by gas source isotope ratio mass spectrometry (GS-IRMS). Therefore, the PAS-synthesized sphalerite has a homogeneous sulfur isotopic composition and is a suitable matrix-matched reference material available for in situ S isotope measurements of sphalerite. The Liziyuan gold deposit, situated on the south side of the Shangdan suture zone, West Qinling Orogen, occurs in metamorphic volcanic rocks (greenschist facies) of the early Paleozoic Liziyuan Group and in Indosinian Tianzishan monzogranite. Orebodies in the Liziyuan gold field are controlled by the ductile‐brittle shear zone, and by thrusting nappe faults related to the Indosinian orogeny. In detail, this paper analyzed the geological characteristics of the Liziyuan gold field, and the Pb isotopes of the Lziyuan host rocks, granitoids (Tianzishan monzogranite and Jiancaowan syenite porphyry), sulfides, and auriferous quartz veins by multiple‐collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (MC–ICP–MS). In addition, previous data on the sulfur, hydrogen, and oxygen isotopes were employed to discuss the possible sources of the ore‐forming fluids and materials, and to further understand the tectonic setting of the Liziyuan gold deposit. The sulfides and their host rocks (Lziyuan Group), Tianzishan monzogranite and Jiancaowan syenite porphyry, and auriferous quartz veins have similar Pb isotopic compositions. Zartman's plumbotectonic model diagram shows that most of the data for the deposit fall near the orogenic Pb evolutionary curve or within the area between the orogenic and mantle Pb evolutionary curves. In the Δβ‐Δγ diagram, which genetically classifies the lead isotopes, most of the data fall within the range of the subduction‐zone lead mixed with upper crust and mantle. This indicates that a complex source of the ore lead formed in the orogenic environment. The δ34S values of the sulfides range from 3.90 to 8.50‰ (average 6.80‰), with a pronounced mode at 5.00‰–8.00‰. These values are consistent with that of orogenic gold deposits worldwide, indicating that the sulfur sourced mainly from reduced metamorphic fluids. The isotopic hydrogen and oxygen compositions support a predominantly metamorphic origin of the ore‐forming fluids, with possible mixing of minor magmatic fluids, but the late stage was dominated by meteoric water. The characteristics of the Liziyuan gold deposit formed in the Indosinian orogenic environment of the Qinling Orogen are consistent with those of orogenic gold deposits found worldwide. High-quality Sr isotope data are critically dependent on the quality of reference materials that are used for instrumental calibration and data monitoring during laser ablation (LA) multi-collector inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (MC-ICP-MS) analysis. We have prepared a new natural calcite reference material MNP for in situ Sr isotope measurement by LA-MC-ICP-MS. Detailed textural examination and major element determination suggest that the MNP calcite reference material has no growth rim or zoning. Trace element analyses by LA-ICP-MS showed that the MNP calcite reference material has low Rb/Sr ratios, low amounts of heavy rare earth elements (HREEs) and high Sr contents. The MNP calcite reference material is homogeneous with respect to Sr isotopes based on a large number of measurements performed by single-grain solution nebulizer (SN)-MC-ICP-MS and LA-MC-ICP-MS. The traditional bulk isotope analyses by TIMS and SN-MC-ICP-MS yielded a mean 87Sr/86Sr ratio of 0.70617 ± 0.00005(2SD, n = 18). A total of 585 LA-MC-ICP-MS Sr isotope analyses on random calcite crystals show homogeneous Sr isotopic compositions with an average 87Sr/86Sr ratio of 0.70617 ± 0.00005 (2SD), identical with the solution-based data. In this study, we present a new method for the dissolution of silicate rocks by flux-free fusion using a boron nitride vessel in preparation for analysis of bulk rock trace elements; this method is especially applicable to felsic intrusive rocks. The method was evaluated by analyzing five intrusive rocks (GSP-2, GSP-1, G-2, GSR-1 and QLO-1) and five extrusive rocks (AGV-2, BCR-2, BHVO-2, GSR-3 and RGM-2). The optimum conditions for the fusion of intrusive rocks were determined to be heating at 1600 °C for 1 min, which is effective to break up strong Si–O bonds. The fused glasses were dissolved using HF/HNO3 acids in closed screw-top Savillex vials on a hotplate; no high-pressure PTFE digestion bomb was required. Zr and Hf were completely recovered from the granodiorite GSP-2 reference material in 6 hours at 150 °C, which was 8 times faster than the method using a conventional high-pressure PTFE digestion bomb at 190 °C. The precision (RSD%, 1 s) of the elemental determinations in nearly 92% of the analyzed samples was better than 4%. Replicate analyses (n = 3) of the reference materials indicated that most of the results agreed with the reference values within a relative error of ＜10%. Microanalysis of tin isotopes in cassiterite by laser ablation multi-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (LA-MC-ICP-MS) has been an important tool to reconstruct the fluid evolution or discriminate petrological sources and processes. However, it is a major challenge to prepare the absolutely essential cassiterite reference material that has a homogeneous Sn isotope composition on a micron scale. In this study, we report a novel method to synthesize a homogeneous cassiterite reference material via sintering a micrometer powder. Under the optimized conditions (600 °C, 1 GPa), the synthesized cassiterite has a smooth surface and dense structure that is suitable for laser ablation analysis. The Sn signal for the synthesized cassiterite was consistent with that of natural cassiterite and lower than that of the pressed powder pellets by LA-ICP-MS, indicating that the sintered cassiterite approximated the theoretical maximal density. LA-MC-ICP-MS measurements suggest that the homogeneity (2SD) for δ124Sn/120Sn was improved from 0.64‰ (original cassiterite crystal) to 0.10‰ (synthesized cassiterite). The reproducibility of δ124Sn/120Sn was 0.07‰ (2SD) for the synthesized cassiterite. These data have demonstrated that the synthesized cassiterite has a homogeneous distribution of Sn isotopes. The copper isotopic compositions of 12 copper-rich minerals (including native copper, sulfides, carbonates, oxides, and copper chloride) have been determined using a 206 nm ultraviolet femtosecond laser ablation multi-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (UV-fs-LA-MC-ICP-MS). A pure copper wire NWU-Cu-B and a natural chalcopyrite TC1725 were used as bracketing standards for calibration. Reliable and precise (2SD<0.07‰) δ65Cu values can be obtained using matrix-matched standards under dry plasma condition and calibrated by the standard-sample bracketing method (SSB). However, the δ65Cu values calibrated by non-matrix-matched standards were seriously affected by matrix effect, with a deviation of up to 1.42‰. Therefore, matrix-matched standards are necessary for reliable in situ Cu isotope ratio measurement. Although the analytical precision (2SD) is slightly improved, the use of Ga as an internal standard combined with the SSB correction does not reduce the deviation caused by the matrix effect. However, the matrix effect can be significantly suppressed by adding 8.6 µL min−1 water into the carrier gas. The matrix-induced δ65Cu deviation of the TC1725 calibrated against the pure copper NWU-Cu-B was reduced from 0.99‰ in dry plasma mode to 0.03‰ in wet plasma mode and achieved a long-term reproducibility of 0.10‰ (2SD). For the Cu isotopic compositions of 12 natural copper-rich minerals determined under wet plasma mode, the deviation of δ65Cu was less than 0.13‰ if the mineral is homogeneous. These results indicate that the non-matrix-matched standardization can be achieved by fs-LA-MC-ICP-MS under wet plasma condition, whether using chalcopyrite or pure copper as the external bracketing standards. The sulfur isotope system is important in tracing a variety of geochemical processes. However, the availability of matrix‐matched reference materials for in situ sulfur isotope ratio measurement is limited. This study analysed four sulfide specimens to investigate their potential as reference materials for in situ sulfur isotope determination, including three natural sulfide minerals (sphalerite SPH‐1, chalcopyrite GC‐1 and galena NWU‐GN), and one resin preserved pyrite powder (RPPY). These four sulfides were analysed independently in four laboratories using both bulk and microbeam analysis techniques, all of which gave equivalent results within uncertainty with comparable accuracy and precision. The sulfur isotopes of these four sulfides are homogeneous based on a large number of isotope determinations by solution nebulisation multi‐collector inductively coupled plasma‐mass spectrometry (MC‐ICP‐MS) and laser ablation (LA) MC‐ICP‐MS. The mean δ34S values for SPH‐1, RPPY, GC‐1 and NWU‐GN determined by gas source isotope ratio mass spectrometry (GS‐IRMS) and solution nebulisation MC‐ICP‐MS are −7.13 ± 0.41‰ (2s), 3.66 ± 0.24‰ (2s), −0.65 ± 0.28‰ (2s), 28.21 ± 0.17‰ (2s) relative to the Vienna‐Canyon Diablo troilite (V‐CDT) reference value, respectively, and which are proposed as potential preferred values. Over 400 spot analyses performed on randomly selected fragments of each sulfide by LA‐MC‐ICP‐MS yielded highly consistent δ34S values with the preferred values. This study examined the micro‐homogeneity of zinc isotope composition of the NIST SRM 683 and NBS 123 reference materials using femtosecond laser ablation multi‐collector inductively coupled plasma‐mass spectrometry (fsLA‐MC‐ICP‐MS). NIST SRM 683 and NBS 123 are homogeneous in Zn isotope composition based on numerous measurements performed on twenty chips and four mounts of sphalerite using solution nebulisation (SN)‐MC‐ICP‐MS and fsLA‐MC‐ICP‐MS. The mean δ66ZnJMC‐Lyon values of NIST SRM 683 and NBS 123 determined by SN‐MC‐ICP‐MS were 0.11 ± 0.02‰ (2 standard deviation (2s), n = 100) and 0.16 ± 0.02‰ (2s, n = 62), respectively. The mean δ66ZnJMC‐Lyon values determined by fsLA‐MC‐ICP‐MS analyses for NIST SRM 683 and NBS 123 were 0.12 ± 0.05‰ (2s, n = 200) and 0.16 ± 0.05‰ (2s, n = 212), consistent with the bulk isotope compositions within uncertainty. The in situ measurement precision for NIST SRM 683 and NBS 123 was better than 0.06‰ (2s), suggesting NIST SRM 683 and NBS 123 are suitable to serve as microanalytical reference materials for Zn isotope measurement. Zinc isotopic compositions of Zn‐rich materials were also determined using fsLA‐MC‐ICP‐MS under wet/dry plasma conditions. Their δ66ZnJMC‐Lyon values were in agreement with those obtained by SN‐MC‐ICP‐MS analysis, suggesting that fsLA‐MC‐ICP‐MS is suitable to measure Zn isotopic ratios in Zn‐rich materials. Thus, this method could potentially analyse spatially resolved Zn isotope compositions at the mineral or even sub‐mineral scale, such as to address the process of ore formation or Zn redistribution in near‐surface environments. In this study, lead isotopic ratios in bronze artifacts were non-matrix-matched determined directly by femtosecond laser ablation multi-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (fsLA-MC-ICP-MS). We evaluated the necessity of matrix matching for lead isotope ratio analyses of bronzes by adopting thallium solution to correct mass discrimination during mass spectrometer measurements. Lead isotope ratios of four bronze reference materials were measured by fsLA-MC-ICP-MS to determine the quality of data when calibrating samples with standards having different physical characteristics and chemical compositions. The average 206 Pb/ 204 Pb, 207 Pb/ 204 Pb, 208 Pb/ 204 Pb, 207 Pb/ 206 Pb and 208 Pb/ 206 Pb ratios determined by fsLA-MC-ICP-MS were within 0.06% of that by solution nebulizer MC-ICP-MS (SN-MC-ICP-MS). The results indicate that accurate lead isotopic compositions could be obtained by fsLA-MC-ICP-MS technique after non-matrix-matched standards calibration. Additionally, the lead isotopic compositions are presented for five Chinese bronze reference materials using fsLA-MC-ICP-MS. Homogeneity of lead isotope distribution was expressed as the RSD range from 0.010% to 0.017% for 208 Pb/ 204 Pb, 207 Pb/ 204 Pb, 206 Pb/ 204 Pb ratios. Therefore, the five bronze materials could potentially serve as external calibration standards and quality control samples for in situ lead isotope measurements of ancient bronze artifacts. Knowledge of the evolution of the East Asian Summer Monsoon (EASM) provides a valuable opportunity to uncover the dynamic interactions of land-ocean-atmosphere system in the late Cenozoic. However, the evolutionary history of EASM remains debatable, mainly due to the difficulty in separating EASM precipitation and temperature signals. In this study, precipitation proxies of Sr/Ca ratio and δ26Mg value in loess secondary calcite (carbonate nodule (NC) and fine carbonate (FC) (grain size < 4 μm)) are further verified, with high precipitation corresponding to high δ26Mg FC but low δ26Mg NC and Sr/Ca NC ratio, and vice versa. Then, these proxies are investigated in well-researched Chinese loess eolian deposits since ∼22.5 Ma. Results suggests that the EASM precipitation was staged enhancement in the mid-Miocene (∼16.5–14.0 Ma) and the Quaternary (∼2.6–0 Ma). The mid-Miocene enhancement can be compared with the strong EASM intensity and the warmest global temperature since the Miocene. Global warming thus is considered as the dominant force for this enhancement via an expansion in the latitudinal extent of the Indo-Pacific Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ). In contrast, the Quaternary enhancement was accompanied by decreases in global temperature. We propose their linkage via the reinforcement of the Pacific Walker Circulation and a northward shift of the subtropical ridge in the western Pacific. Abstract: Different types of metamorphic zircon are recognized by a combined study of petrography, U–Th–Pb and Lu–Hf elements and isotopes in zircons from eclogite-facies metagranites in the Dabie orogen. The results provide petrological distinction between metamorphic growth and recrystallization with respect to protolith inheritance, fluid and melt effects. Zircon U–Pb dating for the metagranites yields two groups of ages at 778±13 Ma and 223±4 Ma, respectively, corresponding to protolith formation in the Neoproterozoic and metamorphic modification in the Triassic. Metamorphically grown zircons from the aqueous fluid are characterized by concordant Triassic U–Pb ages, relatively high U contents but low Th contents, low Th/U and 176Lu/177Hf ratios, and elevated Hf isotope ratios. Metamorphically grown zircons from the hydrous melt show concordant Triassic U–Pb ages, very high contents of both Th and U, elevated 176Hf/177Hf ratios, but almost unchanged 176Lu/177Hf ratios. Metamorphic recrystallization is commonly associated with discordant U–Pb ages between Neoproterozoic and Triassic, but availability of fluid/melt dictates the extent to which internal structure, morphology, U–Th–Pb and Lu–Hf element and isotope systems of protolith zircon were modified by metamorphic dehydration and partial melting. While the zircon U–Th–Pb isotope systems can be variably reset by solid-state recrystallization, its initial Hf isotope signature keeps unchanged at the same conditions. On the other hand, dissolution recrystallization causes almost complete resetting of the U–Th–Pb chronometric systems to concordant ages at the metamorphic time, but it does not significantly change the Lu–Hf isotope compositions. Replacement recrystallization resets the zircon U–Th–Pb and Lu–Hf isotope systems to variable degrees, depending on the activity of metamorphic fluid/melt. Consequently, the five types of metamorphic zircon are distinguished not only between growth from the aqueous fluid and the hydrous melt but also between the recrystallization via the solid-state, replacement and dissolution mechanisms. Sulfur isotopes are important geochemical tracers in the diverse fields of geosciences. Controlling the accuracy and precision of the microanalysis of sulfur isotopes requires well-characterized reference materials with matrices similar to those of unknown samples. This study introduces a new natural chalcopyrite reference material, TC1725, for S isotope analysis by laser ablation multiple-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (LA-MC-ICP-MS). The chalcopyrite grain is homogeneous with respect to S isotopes based on a large number of measurements by LA-MC-ICP-MS and solution nebulizer (SN)-MC-ICP-MS. Isotope ratio mass spectrometry (IRMS) for S isotopic analysis produced a mean δ34SVCDT value of +12.78 ± 0.16‰ (2 s, n = 11). Results of SN-MC-ICP-MS and LA-ICP-MS analyses are consistent with the IRMS ratios within the uncertainty. A total of 981 sulfur isotope ratio spot measurements conducted on the cruciform sections and randomly selected chalcopyrite grains of TC1725 by LA-MC-ICP-MS yielded highly consistent sulfur isotope ratios. Here, we demonstrate the potential advantages of using isotope tracers to test hypotheses of reaction mechanisms near-equilibrium. Using non-traditional stable Si isotopes as tracers, we measured albite unidirectional dissolution rates (r +) across a range of Gibbs free energy of reaction (Δ r G) close to equilibrium (−26 to −2 kJ/mol). Thirteen batch experiment series were conducted at 50 °C and pH ∼ 8 ± 0.25. Different distances from equilibrium were achieved by a stepwise increase of concentrations of Si (0–600 μM), Al (0–10 μM), and Na (0–1000 μM). The temperature, pH, sample preparation, and reaction duration were kept identical to isolate the Δ r G effect. Secondary phase precipitation, which is difficult to avoid in near-equilibrium, near-neutral pH experiments renders the rate measurement method based on changes in Si and Al concentration unworkable, but it should not impact the Si isotope ratios-based rates. The resulting r + values were nearly constant in the experimental Δ r G range, signaling no major Δ r G -related switch of reaction mechanisms. Our results suggest that the switch from etch pit opening at far-from-equilibrium to step retreat at near-equilibrium does not operate under circum-neutral pH in low-temperature systems; this mechanism switch was proposed based on experimental data in alkaline solutions at hydrothermal temperatures. The nearly constant r + values at pH 5–8 also suggest that an H 2 O-catalyzed reaction mechanism dominant at circumneutral pH, in addition to the H+- and OH–-catalyzed reaction mechanisms dominant at acidic and alkaline pH, respectively. The experimental results have implications for geochemical modeling of low-temperature geological and environmental processes. The results suggest that a term of H 2 O-catalyzed reaction mechanism should be included in rate laws and that the parallel rate law with a mechanism-switch is not applicable in the pH range of 5–8. A new natural chalcopyrite reference material TC1725 is prepared for in situ Cu isotope measurement by femtosecond laser ablation multi‐collector inductively coupled plasma‐mass spectrometry (fsLA‐MC‐ICP‐MS). Detailed textural examination and major element determination suggest the TC1725 chalcopyrite grains have no growth rim or zoning. The chalcopyrite grain is homogeneous with respect to Cu isotopes based on a large number of measurements performed by bulk solution nebuliser (SN)‐MC‐ICP‐MS, single‐grain SN‐MC‐ICP‐MS and fsLA‐MC‐ICP‐MS. The traditional bulk isotope analyses by SN‐MC‐ICP‐MS yielded a mean δ65Cu value of −0.06 ± 0.03‰ (2s, n = 132). Randomly selected single chalcopyrite grain of TC1725 determined by SN‐MC‐ICP‐MS without column chromatography gave a mean δ65Cu value of −0.06 ± 0.04‰ (2s, n = 188). The intermediate measurement precision for four measurement sessions was better than 0.04‰ (2s), suggesting TC1725 chalcopyrite is suitable as a microanalysis reference material for Cu isotope measurement. The mean δ65Cu value determined by fsLA‐MC‐ICP‐MS analyses on different individual chalcopyrite mounts and strips was −0.06 ± 0.03‰ (2s, n = 393), consistent with the bulk isotope composition within uncertainty. A new simple and rapid method was developed for the purification of Mg from carbonate samples, especially for calcite-rich carbonates. The proposed separation protocol consists of only two types of eluents (4 mol l−1 HNO3 and deionized water) based on 2 ml of DGA resin. 4 ml of HNO3 can effectively separate Mg from calcite-rich carbonates with a high yield within one hour. The Mg elution curve would not drift with different Mg and Ca loading onto the DGA resin. Ca/Mg ratios of the purified samples could be reduced by five orders of magnitude compared to the unpurified calcite-rich carbonate samples. The precision and accuracy of this new method have been evaluated by measurements of the synthetic solution, carbonate standard material, and ten readily available Chinese carbonate reference materials. All the Mg isotopic analytical results were, within analytical uncertainties, essentially identical with the data published previously. The Tieshajie Cu deposit, located in the northeastern part of the Qin-Hang Metallogenic Belt (QHMB), South China, has long been regarded as a representative Meso-Neoproterozoic volcanogenic massive sulfide (VMS) deposit. Here we present a hydrothermal titanite U-Pb age, Re-Os and in-situ S-Cu isotope data for chalcopyrite to constrain the timing and ore genesis of the Tieshajie deposit. Laser ablation-inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS) U-Pb dating of titanite from the disseminated Cu ore yielded a weighted mean 206Pb/238U age of 160.1 ± 4.4 Ma. Chalcopyrite from different ore types has low 187Os/188Os (0.85–3.60) and 187Re/188Os (46.1–614.0) ratios, combined with initial 187Os/188Os (0.74–2.00), excluding a mantle source. A Re-Os isochron age (188 ± 30 Ma) for five chalcopyrite samples is consistent with the titanite U-Pb age within errors. Moreover, the variations in Cu isotope compositions (δ65Cu: −1.13 to +0.12 ‰) and δ34S values (+3.8 to +7.7 ‰) of chalcopyrite are inconsistent with those reported from the ancient VMS deposits in previous studies. Therefore, our results are indicative of a Late Jurassic magmatic-hydrothermal origin instead of a VMS origin for the Tieshajie deposit. In combination with previous studies, we propose that the Tieshajie Cu deposit belongs to the distal part of the Mid-Late Jurassic (170–150 Ma) porphyry-skarn Cu mineralization event in the QHMB, likely triggered by the subduction of the Paleo-Pacific plate during the Late Mesozoic. In this paper, A new plate heat exchanger is proposed based on topology optimization applying the moving asymptote method (MMA), in which, an alternative projection function is applied, and the parameter ranges affecting the topology structure are present. The channel composition, thermal performance, and hydraulic performance of the optimized structure are analyzed. Numerical simulation and experimental analysis are conducted between the topology and the chevron plate heat exchanger for performance comparison. The results present that the parameter ranges affecting the key issues of the topology are provided, which provides reference for parameter selection. The alternative projection function can effectively eliminate grey scale and checkerboard phenomenon. This study investigates the degradation process of mountain wetlands in the upper Hanjiang River Basin (HRB) over a 30-year span from 1990 to 2020. In particular, the landscape development intensity (LDI) index was employed to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the wetland health. This was subsequently combined with the spatio-temporal changes of water quality in the basin to explore the potential correlations between the health status of mountain wetlands and the associated watershed water quality. The results show that over the past three decades, wetland ecosystems have shrunk by 18% due to conversion into farmland, grass, construction land and forest land. This was significant between 2010 and 2020, as shown by a land use dynamic index of −1.121% during 2010–2020, which was significantly higher than that in the preceding two decades (0.003%, 0.367%) (p < 0.05). LDI values for individual sub-watersheds across different years ranged from 2.39 to 4.93, demonstrating an increasing trend since 2010. This indicates a heightened level of human interference in mountain wetlands. Although the water quality within the basin generally adhered to the Class II surface water quality standard, total nitrogen (TN) (primarily from farming) was a concern. Areas with relatively more human activity were observed to exhibit increased pollution levels, as demonstrated by a positive correlation between LDI and the concentrations of total phosphorus (TP), ammonium nitrogen (NH 4 +-N), and chemical oxygen demand (COD) in the basin. The LDI of the mountain wetland exhibited a consistent positive correlation with the water quality comprehensive function, both during the flood (r = 0.77–0.81) and non-flood (r = 0.61–0.70) seasons (p < 0.05). This indicates the significant impact of the wetland landscape structure on the water quality within a 1000 m radius on either side of the river. Special attention should be paid to the management and allocation of wetland landscapes within this 1000 m buffer zone. Furthermore, efforts to control upstream pollutant emission should be strengthened. We have prepared a large volume of pure, concentrated and homogeneous magnesium standard solution (GSB-Mg) to be used as a secondary reference standard by the magnesium isotope community. This new standard solution can also be used for quality assurance, including the development and validation of analytical procedures, preparation and test of analytical methods, quality control and training of analysts. The δ26Mg values relative to DSM3, measured by multiple-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (MC-ICP-MS), are −2.038 ± 0.027‰ (n = 45, Lab 1), −2.024 ± 0.055‰ (n = 7, Lab 2), −2.078 ± 0.081‰ (n = 6, Lab 3), −2.037 ± 0.015‰ (n = 8, Lab 4), and −2.067 ± 0.039‰ (n = 12, Lab 5). The δ26Mg and δ25Mg values for the GSB-Mg standard solution are −2.049‰ and −1.056‰, with a combined expanded (k = 2) uncertainty of 0.049‰ and 0.028‰, respectively. These values show higher similarity to Mg isotopic compositions of carbonates and marine sediments compared to those of the mantle and crustal rocks, making the GSB-Mg solution a great reference material for Mg isotopic analysis of carbonates and marine sediments. Here we show that the isotope tracer experimental method for kinetic studies, aided by the recent advance and accessibility of multi-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (MC-ICP-MS) analysis for non-traditional stable isotopes, can provide unidirectional dissolution rates at near-equilibrium conditions. For a long time, the only rates available at near-equilibrium were net reaction rates—dissolution rates minus precipitation rates. This is because the conventional experimental method of kinetic studies is based on element concentrations and can only provide net rates. The availability of unidirectional rates allows us to re-examine some fundamental concepts and practices of modeling weathering in geochemistry. In this study, we used the 29Si isotope tracer to conduct albite and K-feldspar dissolution experiments at near-equilibrium conditions in near-neutral pH solutions at 50 °C. Results show that the saturation indices (SI) of solutions approached zero with respect to albite and K-feldspar after ∼240–360 h (h), but 29Si/28Si ratios of the experimental solutions indicated continual dissolution for another 720–1440 h. The rates of total Si precipitation were much smaller than the rates of Si dissolution. The experimental solutions were supersaturated with respect to amorphous Al(OH) 3 , gibbsite, quartz, allophane, imogolite, and kaolinite. The SI of the solutions remained constant with respect to these phases while Al concentrations slightly decreased and Si concentrations slightly increased, indicating the coupled feldspar dissolution and precipitation of secondary phases, such as albite → amorphous Al(OH) 3 + quartz or albite → solution + Al-Si phase(s), instead of significant albite and K-feldspar precipitation (the reverse reaction) at 50 °C. Reaction path modeling of the temporal evolution of Si, Al, Na, and pH revealed that albite dissolution (without significant backward reaction) coupled with the precipitation of a secondary phase with a Si:Al ratio of ∼2:1 can successfully match the experimental data. Given the negligible feldspar precipitation reactions in low-temperature systems (e.g., T < 100 °C), we recommend modeling feldspar weathering using unidirectional forward rates together with secondary phase precipitation rates in near-equilibrium, feldspar-undersaturated systems. This can be accomplished with minor modifications in geochemical modeling software or input files. The coupled feldspar dissolution with secondary phase precipitation arrests the system in a near-equilibrium steady state. Using affinity-based rate equations such the classical linear Transition State Theory rate law or the Burch empirical relation together with far-from-equilibrium rate data will predict significant feldspar precipitation in solutions undersaturated but close to equilibrium with respect to feldspars, which is unlikely at near ambient temperatures. This study presents a practical method for high-precision Mg isotope determination without column chromatography for carbonate samples using sulphuric acid and MC-ICP-MS. The protocol uses the chemical reaction between carbonates and sulphuric acid to generate a CaSO4 precipitate and MgSO4 supernatant, which are used to determine Mg isotopic ratios. The matrix effects and the sulphuric acid conditions were rigorously examined using a Nu Plasma II in wet plasma mode. The precision and accuracy of this method were tested by measurements of the carbonite standard material JDo-1 over four months. The δ26Mg of JDo-1 is −2.32 ± 0.11‰ (2SD, n = 34) relative to DSM3, well consistent with the recommended value (−2.35 ± 0.15‰). The robustness of this method was further assessed by replicated analyses of ten Chinese carbonate reference materials that covered a large range of MgO contents from 5.98 wt% to 20.91 wt%. The widespread aeolian deposits on the Chinese Loess Plateau (CLP) have been investigated intensively as an outstanding archive of information on past variations of the East Asian Monsoon (EAM). However, differentiating the impacts of precipitation and temperature on loess-based proxies is difficult and complex, which hampers our ability to understand the variability and dynamics of the EAM. In this study, we investigated the Mg isotope composition (δ26Mg) of the secondary carbonates in fine-grained loess samples from ten Holocene profiles and a loess-paleosol sequence, as well as in the primary carbonates of nine loess-source samples from the Asian inland deserts. Our aim was to explore the potential of the δ26Mg values of secondary carbonates in tracing precipitation changes. The results demonstrate that δ26Mg values are homogeneous (−2.07‰) in primary carbonates from different loess-sources, but display large variations in secondary carbonates of loess, increasing from −3.33‰ in the northwest CLP to −1.80‰ in the southeast CLP, and from −3.58‰ during the last glacial to −1.65‰ during the last interglacial. The variations were mainly controlled by EAM precipitation via the migration of isotopically light Mg, because Mg isotope fractionation during the formation of secondary carbonates is temperature insensitive, and the primary carbonate in different loess-sources has relatively constant δ26Mg values. This conclusion is further supported by high correlation (r 2 = 0.84) between modern mean annual precipitation (MAP) and δ26Mg in the secondary carbonates of spatial loess samples. Based on this δ26Mg-MAP relationship, temporal variations in MAP were quantitatively estimated, ranging from 670 mm during the last interglacial to 270 mm during the last glacial at the southern CLP. Compared with previous estimates, our MAP exhibits a larger amplitude of glacial-interglacial fluctuations (∼400 mm) with a less uncertainty (53–76 mm), implying that δ26Mg values in secondary carbonates of loess can serve as a novel precipitation proxy to infer EAM variability and dynamics. The continent is the second largest carbon sink on Earth's surface. With the diversification of vascular land plants in the late Paleozoic, terrestrial organic carbon burial is represented by massive coal formation, while the development of soil profiles would account for both organic and inorganic carbon burial. As compared with soil organic carbon, inorganic carbon burial, collectively known as the soil carbonate, would have a greater impact on the long-term carbon cycle. Soil carbonate would have multiple carbon sources, including dissolution of host calcareous rocks, dissolved inorganic carbon from freshwater, and oxidation of organic matter, but the host calcareous rock dissolution would not cause atmospheric CO2 drawdown. Thus, to evaluate the potential effect of soil carbonate formation on the atmospheric pCO2 level, different carbon sources of soil carbonate should be quantitatively differentiated. In this study, we analyzed the carbon and magnesium isotopes of pedogenic calcite veins developed in a heavily weathered outcrop, consisting of limestone of the early Paleogene Guanzhuang Group in North China. Based on the C and Mg isotope data, we developed a numerical model to quantify the carbon source of calcite veins. The modeling results indicate that 4–37 wt% of carbon in these calcite veins was derived from atmospheric CO2. The low contribution from atmospheric CO2 might be attributed to the host limestone that might have diluted the atmospheric CO2 sink. Nevertheless, taking this value into consideration, it is estimated that soil carbonate formation would lower 1 ppm atmospheric CO2 within 2000 years, i.e., soil carbonate alone would sequester all atmospheric CO2 within 1 million years. Among various geochemical and petrographic approaches, dolomite crystal morphology and dolostone fabric have been widely applied in the study of ancient dolostones. It is proposed that dolomite crystal morphologies and the rock fabric may reflect the formation temperature, and thus can be used to distinguish different generations of dolomite. However, this scenario has also been challenged by some researchers. In order to test whether the dolomite crystal morphology can be used to differentiate different generations of dolomite, in this study, we measured the Mg isotopic compositions (δ26Mg) of dolomite with different crystal morphologies. δ26Mg of dolomite is controlled by a variety of factors, including temperature, magnesium isotopic composition of dolomitization fluids, and the flow rate of dolomitization fluids. If dolomite with distinct crystal morphologies were derived from different dolomitization processes, it is highly plausible that they would have different δ26Mg. Five types of dolomite with distinct crystal morphologies and rock fabric were recognized from three sampling intervals (S1, S2, and S3) in the middle Ordovician Majiagou Formation in North China. Different types of dolomite in the same sampling interval have similar δ26Mg values, suggesting that these dolomites might have derived during the same dolomitization event. Our study indicates that the crystal morphology alone may not unambiguously differentiate the generations of dolomites. We propose the following reasons: (1) the dolomite crystal morphology might be controlled by various factors rather than the formation temperature alone, or (2) the dolomite crystal morphology might be modified in diagenesis, but δ26Mg remains unchanged. • Dolomites with different crystal morphologies have similar Mg isotopes. • Dolomites with similar δ26Mg may indicate origination from the same dolomitization event. • The crystal morphology cannot be used to differentiate the generations of dolomites. Precisely dating different generations of mineralization is important for understanding the origin and tectonic environment of ore formation. In this study, we have dated two generations of sulfides from the Lala Fe-Cu deposit, SW China, using in situ Pb-Pb isotopic data obtained by the LA-MC-ICPMS technique. The Lala deposit is composed of Fe-Cu ore bodies hosted in sedimentary-volcanic rocks of the Paleoproterozoic Hekou Group. It has a paragenetic sequence of pre-ore banded pyrite (Stage I) and Na alteration (Stage II), followed by early Fe (Stage III) and late Cu (Stage IV) mineralization. The sulfides in the deposit have dominantly formed in two stages, including pyrite from stratiform pyrite bands in the host rocks (i.e., Stage I) and epigenetic pyrite-chalcopyrite in Fe-Cu ore (i.e., Stage IV). The sulfides of both stages have highly radiogenic Pb isotopic ratios which form linear trends in the 207Pb/204Pb versus 206Pb/204Pb diagram. The regression trend for Stage I pyrite grains defines an errorchron age of 1669 ± 110 Ma (MSWD = 32), undistinguishable from zircon LA-ICPMS U-Pb ages of volcanic rocks in the Hekou Group (i.e., ~ 1700 Ma). The regressions for Stage IV pyrite and chalcopyrite yield younger errorchron ages of 1088 ± 88 Ma (MSWD = 93) and 1053 ± 220 Ma (MSWD = 15), respectively. Taking pyrite and chalcopyrite together, an errorchron age of 1053 ± 75 Ma (MSWD = 108) is obtained. These errorchron ages agree well with the molybdenite Re-Os age of the Fe-Cu ore (1086 ± 8 Ma). Despite the large error and MSWD values that are interpreted to be related to the small variation of initial ratios, or post-ore open system behavior, the good agreement with the precise zircon U-Pb and molybdenite Re-Os ages indicates that the Pb-Pb errorchron ages for Stage I and IV sulfides are geologically meaningful. Therefore, this study shows that the in situ Pb isotopic analyses can yield geologically meaningful Pb-Pb ages for radiogenic Pb-rich sulfide minerals. We also propose that in situ Pb-Pb isotopic dating may be more promising for Precambrian deposits containing sulfides with ingrown Pb, particularly for those involving multiple mineralization/hydrothermal events but without relevant minerals for precise Re-Os or U-Pb dating.
