Abstract

Abstract We present the study of the decay J/ψ → ρπ. The results are based on of 5.2 million J/ψ events collected by the KEDR detector at the VEPP-4M collider. The branching fractions are measured to be B $$ \mathcal{B} $$ (J/ψ → ρπ) = (2.072 ± 0.017 ± 0.062) ∙ 10 −2 and B $$ \mathcal{B} $$ (J/ψ → π + π − π 0) = (1.878 ± 0.013 ± 0.051) ∙ 10 −2, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second systematic. Our results are more precise than the previous relative measurements.

Abstract

Abstract Using the 1.32 $$\hbox {pb}^{-1}$$ pb - 1 statistics collected at the $$J/\psi $$ J / ψ peak with the KEDR detector at the VEPP-4M $$e^{+}e^{-\, }$$ e + e - collider, we measured the branching fractions of $$J/\psi $$ J / ψ meson decays to the final states 2( $$\pi ^{+}\pi ^{-})\pi ^{0}$$ π + π - ) π 0 , $$K^{+}K^{-}\pi ^{+}\pi ^{-}\pi ^{0}$$ K + K - π + π - π 0 , 2( $$\pi ^{+}\pi ^{-})$$ π + π - ) and $$K^{+}K^{-}\pi ^{+}\pi ^{-}$$ K + K - π + π - . The results obtained for the decays $$J/\psi \rightarrow $$ J / ψ → 2( $$\pi ^{+}\pi ^{-})\pi ^{0}$$ π + π - ) π 0 , $$J/\psi \rightarrow K^{+}K^{-}\pi ^{+}\pi ^{-}\pi ^{0}$$ J / ψ → K + K - π + π - π 0 contradict the measurements performed by other groups in the last century, but agree well with recent results of BABAR and BESIII collaborations.

Abstract

Abstract The process $$e^+e^-\rightarrow n{\bar{n}}$$ e + e - → n n ¯ is studied in the experiment at the VEPP-2000 $$e^+e^-$$ e + e - collider with the SND detector. The technique of the time measurements in the multichannel NaI(Tl) electromagnetic calorimeter is used to select $$n{\bar{n}}$$ n n ¯ events. The value of the measured cross section in the center-of-mass energy range from 1.894 to 2 GeV varies from 0.5 to 0.35 nb. The effective neutron timelike form factor is derived from the measured cross section and compared with the proton form factor. The ratio of the neutron electric and magnetic form factors is obtained from the analysis of the antineutron polar angle distribution and found to be consistent with unity.

Abstract

Abstract The process $$e^+e^-\rightarrow \eta \eta \gamma $$ e + e - → η η γ is studied in the center-of-mass energy range 1.17–2.00 GeV using data with an integrated luminosity of 201 pb $$^{-1}$$ - 1 collected by the SND detector at the VEPP-2000 $$e^+e^-$$ e + e - collider. The $$e^+e^-\rightarrow \eta \eta \gamma $$ e + e - → η η γ cross section is measured for the first time. It is shown that the dominant mechanism of this reaction is the transition through the $$\phi \eta $$ ϕ η intermediate state. Our result on the $$e^+e^-\rightarrow \eta \eta \gamma $$ e + e - → η η γ cross section is consistent with the $$e^+e^-\rightarrow \phi \eta $$ e + e - → ϕ η measurement in the $$\phi \rightarrow K^+ K^-$$ ϕ → K + K - mode. The search for radiative processes contributing to the $$e^+e^-\rightarrow \eta \eta \gamma $$ e + e - → η η γ cross section is performed, and no significant signal is observed.

Abstract

Abstract The cross section of the process e + e − → π + π − has been measured in the Spherical Neutral Detector (SND) experiment at the VEPP-2000 e + e − collider VEPP-2000 in the energy region 525 < s $$ \sqrt{s} $$ < 883 MeV. The measurement is based on data with an integrated luminosity of about 4.6 pb −1. The systematic uncertainty of the cross section determination is 0.8% at s $$ \sqrt{s} $$ > 0.600 GeV. The ρ meson parameters are obtained as m ρ = 775.3 ± 0.5 ± 0.6 MeV, Γ ρ = 145.6 ± 0.6 ± 0.8 MeV, B ρ→e+e− × B ρ→π+π− = (4.89 ± 0.02 ± 0.04) × 10 −5, and the parameters of the e + e − → ω → π + π − process, suppressed by G-parity, as B ω→e+e− × B ω→π+π− = (1.32 ± 0.06 ± 0.02) × 10 −6 and and ϕ ρω = 110.7 ± 1.5 ± 1.0 degrees.

Abstract The process $$e^+e^-\rightarrow K^+K^-\pi ^0$$ e + e - → K + K - π 0 is studied with the SND detector at the VEPP-2000 $$e^+e^-$$ e + e - collider. Basing on data with an integrated luminosity of 26.4 $$\hbox {pb}^{-1}$$ pb - 1 we measure the $$e^+e^-\rightarrow K^+K^-\pi ^0$$ e + e - → K + K - π 0 cross section in the center-of-mass energy range from 1.28 up to 2 GeV. The measured mass spectrum of the $$K\pi $$ K π system indicates that the dominant mechanism of this reaction is the transition through the $$K^{*}(892)K$$ K ∗ ( 892 ) K intermediate state. The cross section for the $$\phi \pi ^0$$ ϕ π 0 intermediate state is measured separately. The SND results are consistent with previous measurements in the BABAR experiment and have comparable accuracy. We study the effect of the interference between the $$\phi \pi ^0$$ ϕ π 0 and $$K^*K$$ K ∗ K amplitudes. It is found that the interference gives sizable contribution to the measured $$e^+e^- \rightarrow \phi \pi ^0\rightarrow K^+K^-\pi ^0$$ e + e - → ϕ π 0 → K + K - π 0 cross section below 1.7 GeV.

Abstract The process $$e^+e^-\rightarrow \eta \pi ^0\gamma $$ e + e - → η π 0 γ is studied in the center-of-mass energy range 1.05–2.00 GeV using data with an integrated luminosity of 94.5 $$\hbox {pb}^{-1}$$ pb - 1 collected by the SND detector at the VEPP-2000 $$e^{+}e^{-}$$ e + e - collider. The $$e^+e^-\rightarrow \eta \pi ^0\gamma $$ e + e - → η π 0 γ cross section is measured for the first time. It is shown that the dominant mechanism of this reaction is the transition through the $$\omega \eta $$ ω η intermediate state. The measured cross section of the subprocess $$e^+e^-\rightarrow \omega \eta \rightarrow \eta \pi ^0\gamma $$ e + e - → ω η → η π 0 γ is consistent with previous measurements in the $$e^+e^-\rightarrow \pi ^+\pi ^-\pi ^0\eta $$ e + e - → π + π - π 0 η mode. It is found, with a significance of $$5.6\sigma $$ 5.6 σ , that the process $$e^+e^-\rightarrow \eta \pi ^0\gamma $$ e + e - → η π 0 γ is not completely described by hadronic vector-pseudoscalar intermediate states. The cross section of this missing contribution, which can originate from radiation processes, e. g. $$e^+e^-\rightarrow a_{0}(1450)\gamma $$ e + e - → a 0 ( 1450 ) γ , is measured. It is found to be 15–20 pb in the wide energy range from 1.3 to 1.9 GeV.

Abstract The dynamics of the process $$ e^+e^- \rightarrow \pi ^+\pi ^-\pi ^0 $$ e + e - → π + π - π 0 is studied in the energy region from 1.15 to 2.00 GeV using data accumulated with the SND detector at the VEPP-2000 $$e^+e^-$$ e + e - collider. The Dalitz plot distribution and $$\pi ^+\pi ^-$$ π + π - mass spectrum are analyzed in a model including the intermediate states $$\rho (770)\pi $$ ρ ( 770 ) π , $$\rho (1450)\pi $$ ρ ( 1450 ) π , and $$\omega \pi ^0$$ ω π 0 . As a result, the energy dependences of the $$\rho (770)\pi $$ ρ ( 770 ) π and $$\rho (1450)\pi $$ ρ ( 1450 ) π cross sections and the relative phases between the $$\rho (770)\pi $$ ρ ( 770 ) π amplitude and the $$\rho (1450)\pi $$ ρ ( 1450 ) π and $$\omega \pi ^0$$ ω π 0 amplitudes are obtained. The $$\rho (1450)\pi $$ ρ ( 1450 ) π cross section has a peak in the energy region of the $$\omega (1650)$$ ω ( 1650 ) resonance (1.55–1.75 GeV). In this energy range the contributions of the $$\rho (770)\pi $$ ρ ( 770 ) π and $$\rho (1450)\pi $$ ρ ( 1450 ) π states are of the same order of magnitude. No resonance structure near 1.65 GeV is observed in the $$\rho (770)\pi $$ ρ ( 770 ) π cross section. We conclude that the intermediate state $$\rho (1450)\pi $$ ρ ( 1450 ) π gives a significant contribution to the decay of $$\omega (1650)\rightarrow \pi ^+\pi ^-\pi ^0$$ ω ( 1650 ) → π + π - π 0 , whereas the $$\rho (770)\pi $$ ρ ( 770 ) π mechanism dominates in the decay $$\omega (1420)\rightarrow \pi ^+\pi ^-\pi ^0$$ ω ( 1420 ) → π + π - π 0 .

Abstract

In this paper, we present the form factor $$\gamma {\text{*}}\omega {{\pi }^{0}}$$ measurement in the virtual photon mass range 1 GeV < $$\sqrt {{{q}^{2}}} $$ < 2 GeV in the $${{e}^{ + }}{{e}^{ - }} \to \omega {{\pi }^{0}} \to {{\pi }^{ + }}{{\pi }^{ - }}{{\pi }^{0}}{{\pi }^{0}}$$ process. Measurements are based on the data acquired by the SND detector at the VEPP-2000 $${{e}^{ + }}{{e}^{ - }}$$ collider in Novosibirsk. The obtained form factor is approximated in the vector meson dominance (VMD) model. The joint fitting of the form factor obtained in the SND and NA60 experiments is also performed.

Abstract

The process $$e^{+}e^{-}\to\eta\pi^{0}\gamma$$ is studied in the range of center-of-mass (c.m.) collision energies between 1.05 and 2.00 GeV on the basis of data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 94.5 pb $${}^{-1}$$ that were accumulated in an experiment with the SND detector at the VEPP-2000 $$e^{+}e^{-}$$ collider. The cross section for this process was measured for the first time and was found to receive a dominant contribution from the mechanism of a transition through an $$\omega\eta$$ intermediate state. The cross section measured for the process $$e^{+}e^{-}\to\omega\eta\to\eta\pi^{0}\gamma$$ agrees with the results of earlier measurements in the channel $$e^{+}e^{-}\to\pi^{+}\pi^{-}\pi^{0}\eta$$ . At a level of 5.7 standard deviations (5.7 $$\sigma$$ ), it is established that the process $$e^{+}e^{-}\to\eta\pi^{0}\gamma$$ is not fully described by hadronic intermediate states of the $$VP$$ type. The cross section was measured for this missing contribution, which may be generated by radiative processes—for example, $$e^{+}e^{-}\to a_{0}(1450)\gamma$$ . It ranges from 15 to 20 pb over a broad energy interval extending from 1.3 to 1.9 GeV.

Abstract

In an experiment with the SND detector at the VEPP-2000 $$e^{+}e^{-}$$ collider, the cross sections for the processes $$e^{+}e^{-}\to K^{+}K^{-}\pi^{0}$$ and $$e^{+}e^{-}\to\phi\pi^{0}$$ were measured at collision energies of $$\sqrt{s}=1.28{-}2.00$$ GeV in the center-of-mass frame. The results agree with the results of earlier measurements in the BABAR experiment and have a commensurate precision.

Abstract

Using the SND detector, the process $$e^{+}e^{-}\to\pi^{+}\pi^{-}\pi^{0}$$ was studied in the energy range between 1.05 and 2.00 GeV. The respective measurement was performed on the basis of data accumulated in the experiments at the VEPP-2000 electron–positron collider throughout the runs of 2011 and 2012. Also, the invariant-mass spectra of the $$\pi^{+}\pi^{-}$$ and $$\pi^{\pm}\pi^{0}$$ combinations were analyzed in the energy range between 1.15 and 2 GeV. This resulted in finding an indication that the $$\omega(1680)$$ excited state decayed predominantly through the $$\rho^{\prime}\pi$$ intermediate state.

The possibility of using a diluted magnetic semiconductor (In, Fe)Sb as a functional layer for use in spintronics, namely, as a ferromagnetic injector in a spin light emitting diode, has been investigated. The luminescent characteristics, as well as the temperature dependence of the circular polarization degree of of a spin LED electroluminescence with an (In, Fe)Sb injector, are studied.

Abstract

We report a measurement of the D^{0} and D^{+} lifetimes using D^{0}→K^{-}π^{+} and D^{+}→K^{-}π^{+}π^{+} decays reconstructed in e^{+}e^{-}→cc[over ¯] data recorded by the Belle II experiment at the SuperKEKB asymmetric-energy e^{+}e^{-} collider. The data, collected at center-of-mass energies at or near the ϒ(4S) resonance, correspond to an integrated luminosity of 72 fb^{-1}. The results, τ(D^{0})=410.5±1.1(stat)±0.8(syst) fs and τ(D^{+})=1030.4±4.7(stat)±3.1(syst) fs, are the most precise to date and are consistent with previous determinations.

Abstract

The influence of He+ ion irradiation on magnetotransport properties of epitaxial layers of a diluted magnetic semiconductor (DMS) (In,Fe)Sb, a two-phase (In,Fe)Sb composite and a nominally undoped InSb semiconductor has been investigated. In all layers, a conductivity type conversion from the initial n-type to the p-type has been found. The ion fluence at which the conversion occurs depends on the Fe concentration in the InSb matrix. Magnetotransport properties of the two-phase (In,Fe)Sb layer are strongly affected by ferromagnetic Fe inclusions. An influence of the number of electrically active radiation defects on the magnetic properties of the single-phase In0.75Fe0.25Sb DMS has been found. At the same time, the results show that the magnetic properties of the In0.75Fe0.25Sb DMS are quite resistant to significant changes of the charge carrier concentration and the Fermi level position. The results confirm a weak interrelation between the ferromagnetism and the charge carrier concentration in (In,Fe)Sb that is fundamentally different from Mn doped III-V DMS.

Abstract

The current–voltage characteristics of light-emitting diodes based on InGaAs/GaAs heterostructures with an injector made of (In, Fe)Sb diluted magnetic semiconductor are studied. The current–voltage characteristics of the (In, Fe)Sb/n-GaAs and (In, Fe)Sb/p-GaAs structures are analyzed. The band diagrams of heterojunctions are constructed. It is shown that the investigated structures have the same current transfer mechanism as in the structures with a Schottky barrier.

Abstract

The cross section of the process e+e− → π+π− has been measured in the Spherical Neutral Detector (SND) experiment at the VEPP-2000 e+e− collider VEPP-2000 in the energy region 525 <$$ \sqrt{s} $$ s < 883 MeV. The measurement is based on data with an integrated luminosity of about 4.6 pb−1. The systematic uncertainty of the cross section determination is 0.8% at $$ \sqrt{s} $$ s > 0.600 GeV. The ρ meson parameters are obtained as mρ = 775.3 ± 0.5 ± 0.6 MeV, Γρ = 145.6 ± 0.6 ± 0.8 MeV, Bρ→e+e− × Bρ→π+π− = (4.89 ± 0.02 ± 0.04) × 10−5, and the parameters of the e+e− → ω → π+π− process, suppressed by G-parity, as Bω→e+e− × Bω→π+π− = (1.32 ± 0.06 ± 0.02) × 10−6 and and ϕρω = 110.7 ± 1.5 ± 1.0 degrees.

Abstract

The process $$e^+e^-\rightarrow K^+K^-\pi ^0$$ e + e - → K + K - π 0 is studied with the SND detector at the VEPP-2000 $$e^+e^-$$ e + e - collider. Basing on data with an integrated luminosity of 26.4 $$\hbox {pb}^{-1}$$ pb - 1 we measure the $$e^+e^-\rightarrow K^+K^-\pi ^0$$ e + e - → K + K - π 0 cross section in the center-of-mass energy range from 1.28 up to 2 GeV. The measured mass spectrum of the $$K\pi $$ K π system indicates that the dominant mechanism of this reaction is the transition through the $$K^{*}(892)K$$ K ∗ ( 892 ) K intermediate state. The cross section for the $$\phi \pi ^0$$ ϕ π 0 intermediate state is measured separately. The SND results are consistent with previous measurements in the BABAR experiment and have comparable accuracy. We study the effect of the interference between the $$\phi \pi ^0$$ ϕ π 0 and $$K^*K$$ K ∗ K amplitudes. It is found that the interference gives sizable contribution to the measured $$e^+e^- \rightarrow \phi \pi ^0\rightarrow K^+K^-\pi ^0$$ e + e - → ϕ π 0 → K + K - π 0 cross section below 1.7 GeV.

Abstract

The process $$e^+e^-\rightarrow \eta \pi ^0\gamma $$ e + e - → η π 0 γ is studied in the center-of-mass energy range 1.05–2.00 GeV using data with an integrated luminosity of 94.5 $$\hbox {pb}^{-1}$$ pb - 1 collected by the SND detector at the VEPP-2000 $$e^{+}e^{-}$$ e + e - collider. The $$e^+e^-\rightarrow \eta \pi ^0\gamma $$ e + e - → η π 0 γ cross section is measured for the first time. It is shown that the dominant mechanism of this reaction is the transition through the $$\omega \eta $$ ω η intermediate state. The measured cross section of the subprocess $$e^+e^-\rightarrow \omega \eta \rightarrow \eta \pi ^0\gamma $$ e + e - → ω η → η π 0 γ is consistent with previous measurements in the $$e^+e^-\rightarrow \pi ^+\pi ^-\pi ^0\eta $$ e + e - → π + π - π 0 η mode. It is found, with a significance of $$5.6\sigma $$ 5.6 σ , that the process $$e^+e^-\rightarrow \eta \pi ^0\gamma $$ e + e - → η π 0 γ is not completely described by hadronic vector-pseudoscalar intermediate states. The cross section of this missing contribution, which can originate from radiation processes, e. g. $$e^+e^-\rightarrow a_{0}(1450)\gamma $$ e + e - → a 0 ( 1450 ) γ , is measured. It is found to be 15–20 pb in the wide energy range from 1.3 to 1.9 GeV.

Abstract

The dynamics of the process $$ e^+e^- \rightarrow \pi ^+\pi ^-\pi ^0 $$ e + e - → π + π - π 0 is studied in the energy region from 1.15 to 2.00 GeV using data accumulated with the SND detector at the VEPP-2000 $$e^+e^-$$ e + e - collider. The Dalitz plot distribution and $$\pi ^+\pi ^-$$ π + π - mass spectrum are analyzed in a model including the intermediate states $$\rho (770)\pi $$ ρ ( 770 ) π , $$\rho (1450)\pi $$ ρ ( 1450 ) π , and $$\omega \pi ^0$$ ω π 0 . As a result, the energy dependences of the $$\rho (770)\pi $$ ρ ( 770 ) π and $$\rho (1450)\pi $$ ρ ( 1450 ) π cross sections and the relative phases between the $$\rho (770)\pi $$ ρ ( 770 ) π amplitude and the $$\rho (1450)\pi $$ ρ ( 1450 ) π and $$\omega \pi ^0$$ ω π 0 amplitudes are obtained. The $$\rho (1450)\pi $$ ρ ( 1450 ) π cross section has a peak in the energy region of the $$\omega (1650)$$ ω ( 1650 ) resonance (1.55–1.75 GeV). In this energy range the contributions of the $$\rho (770)\pi $$ ρ ( 770 ) π and $$\rho (1450)\pi $$ ρ ( 1450 ) π states are of the same order of magnitude. No resonance structure near 1.65 GeV is observed in the $$\rho (770)\pi $$ ρ ( 770 ) π cross section. We conclude that the intermediate state $$\rho (1450)\pi $$ ρ ( 1450 ) π gives a significant contribution to the decay of $$\omega (1650)\rightarrow \pi ^+\pi ^-\pi ^0$$ ω ( 1650 ) → π + π - π 0 , whereas the $$\rho (770)\pi $$ ρ ( 770 ) π mechanism dominates in the decay $$\omega (1420)\rightarrow \pi ^+\pi ^-\pi ^0$$ ω ( 1420 ) → π + π - π 0 .

Abstract

The SND is a non-magnetic detector deployed at the VEPP-2000 $e^+e^-$ collider (BINP, Novosibirsk) for hadronic cross-section measurements in the center of mass energy region below 2 GeV. The important part of the detector is a three-layer hodoscopic electromagnetic calorimeter (EMC) based on NaI(Tl) counters. Until the recent EMC spectrometric channel upgrade, only the energy deposition measurement in counters was possible. A new EMC signal shaping and digitizing electronics based on FADC allows us to obtain also the event time structure. The new electronics and supporting software, including digital signal processing algorithms, are used for data taking in the ongoing experiment. Abstract

On the basis of a comprehensive study of the structural and electronic properties of InAs/GaAs quantum dots grown by vapor-phase epitaxy at atmospheric pressure, a structural model of the quantum dots as three truncated pyramids adjoined at their bases is chosen. The model takes into account the diffusive smearing of the composition near the base and lateral surface as well as the segregation of indium near the vertex. It is established that the wave functions of charge carriers in the ground state are localized in a comparatively small region of the quantum dot near its vertex.

Abstract

The product of the electronic width of the ψ(2S) meson and the branching fraction of its decay to the muon pair was measured in the e + e − → ψ (2S) → μ + μ − process using nine data sets corresponding to an integrated luminosity of about 6.5 pb−1 collected with the KEDR detector at the VEPP-4M electron–positron collider: Γ e e × B μ μ = 19.3 ± 0.3 ± 0.5 eV . Adding the previous KEDR results on hadronic and leptonic channels, the values of the ψ(2S) electronic width were obtained under two assumptions: either with the assumption of lepton universality Γ e e = 2.279 ± 0.015 ± 0.042 keV or without it, summing up hadronic and three independent leptonic channels Γ e e = 2.282 ± 0.015 ± 0.042 keV .

The capping of an array of self-assembled InAs/GaAs quantum dots by an InGaAs quantum-well layer leads to an increase in their size due to indium enrichment of the region near the top of the quantum dots, which decreases the energy of the ground-state optical transition in quantum dots by 50 meV and shifts the hole wave function toward the top of the quantum dot.

Abstract

The effect of technological parameters on the selective manganese doping of arsenide–gallium heterostructures fabricated by a combination of methods of MOS-hydride epitaxy and pulsed-laser deposition is investigated. As these parameters, the impurity content in the manganese δ layer and the structureformation temperature are used. It is established that the prepared structures demonstrate the highest electrical activity and have ferromagnetic properties at a growth temperature of ~400°C and an impurity content of no higher than 0.2–0.3 monolayers. Studying the grown structures by the methods of reflection spectroscopy, high-resolution transmission electron microscopy, and secondary-ion mass spectrometry shows that use of the above conditions in the case of pulsed laser deposition makes it possible to obtain arsenide–gallium structures, which have good crystalline quality, and manganese is concentrated in them within a thin (7–8 nm) layer without substantial diffusion-induced spreading and segregation.

Abstract

Multilayer structures on the basis of n-type (In,Fe)Sb and p-type (Ga,Fe)Sb diluted magnetic semiconductors (DMS) along with separate (In,Fe)Sb and (Ga,Fe)Sb layers were fabricated on GaAs substrates by pulsed laser sputtering of InSb, GaAs, GaSb, Sb and Fe targets in a vacuum. Transmission electron microscopy and energy-dispersive x-ray spectroscopy reveal a strong dependence of the phase composition of the (In,Fe)Sb compound on the growth temperature. An increase of the latter from 220 °C to 300 °C leads to a coalescence of Fe atoms and formation of a secondary crystalline phase in the (In,Fe)Sb layer with a total Fe content of ≈ 10 at. %. At the same time, the Ga0.8Fe0.2Sb layers obtained at 220 °C and 300 °C are single-phase. The separate In0.8Fe0.2Sb and Ga0.8Fe0.2Sb layers grown on i-GaAs at 220 °C are DMS with Curie temperatures of ≈ 190 K and 170 K, respectively. The three-layer p-i-n diode (In,Fe)Sb/GaAs/(Ga,Fe)Sb structure grown on a GaAs substrate at 220 °C with a Fe content of 10 ± 1 at. % in the single-phase (In,Fe)Sb and (Ga,Fe)Sb layers has a rather high crystalline quality and can be considered as a prototype of a bipolar spintronic device based on Fe-doped III-V semiconductors.

Abstract

Recent results on study of exclusive processes of $e^+e^-$ annihilation into hadrons below 2 GeV obtained at the SND detector are presented. The analysis are based on data collected at the VEPP-2M and VEPP-2000 colliders. In particular, we present the measurements of the $e^+e^-\to\eta\pi^+\pi^-$, $e^+e^-\to\eta K^+K^-$, $e^+e^-\to K_SK_L\pi^0$ cross sections, and the preliminary results on study of the $e^+e^-\to\pi^+\pi^-$, $e^+e^-\to n\bar{n}$, $e^+e^-\to\pi^0\gamma$, and the upper limit for $\eta\to e^+e^-$ decay branching fraction

Abstract

Defects induced by liquid-phase exfoliation of graphite using sonication were studied. It was shown that localized impact by cavitation shock waves can produce bulk ripplocations and various types of dislocations in graphite nanoplatelets. Formation of ripples is more pronounced in large aspect (length/width) ratio platelets or nanobelts. Quasi-periodical ripple systems were observed in many nanobelts after sonication. Mechanism of formation of ripples and dislocations during sonication was proposed. Surprisingly, fast high-temperature processing was found to anneal most of defects. This is consistent with our observations that defects associated with ripplocations are strongly localized and thus can be fast annealed., 16 pages, 9 figures

The process e+e-→π0γ is studied with the SND detector at the VEPP-2000 e+e- collider. Basing on data with an integrated luminosity of 41 pb-1 recorded in 2010-2012 we measure the e+e-→π0γ cross section in the center-of-mass energy range from 1.075 up to 2 GeV. In the range 1.4–2.0 GeV the process e+e-→π0γ is studied for the first time.

Abstract

The crystal structure, composition, and magnetic, and electric-transport properties of Mn x Ga y layers deposited onto a GaAs surface by pulsed laser deposition in a hydrogen atmosphere, pulsed laser deposition in vacuum, and electron-beam evaporation in vacuum are investigated. It is shown that the features of each technique affect the composition and crystal structure of the formed layers, and the degree of abruptness and crystalline quality of the heterointerface. Apparently, the composition and crystal structure are responsible for modification of the ferromagnetic properties. The defects in the heterointerface affect the properties of the Mn x Ga y /GaAs diode structure, in particular, the height of the Schottky diode potential barrier.

Abstract

Using the KEDR detector at the VEPP-4M e + e − e + e − collider, we have measured the values of R uds R uds and R at seven points of the center-of-mass energy between 3.12 and 3.72 GeV. The total achieved accuracy is about or better than 3.3% 3.3 % at most of energy points with a systematic uncertainty of about 2.1% 2.1 % . At the moment it is the most accurate measurement of R(s) R ( s ) in this energy range.

Abstract

Epitaxial InFeSb/GaAs heterostructures were obtained by laser deposition in vacuum. Investigations by high-resolution transmission electron microscopy and microdiffraction showed that the InFeSb layers are single-crystal and do not contain additional phase inclusions. Study of their magnetotransport properties have revealed that an anomalous Hall effect and a negative magnetoresistance up to room temperature are observed in the structures.

Abstract

The present work continues a series of the KEDR measurements of the $R$ value that started in 2010 at the VEPP-4M $e^+e^-$ collider. By combining new data with our previous results in this energy range we measured the values of $R_{\text{uds}}$ and $R$ at nine center-of-mass energies between 3.08 and 3.72 GeV. The total accuracy is about or better than $2.6\%$ at most of energy points with a systematic uncertainty of about $1.9\%$. Together with the previous precise $R$ measurement at KEDR in the energy range 1.84-3.05 GeV, it constitutes the most detailed high-precision $R$ measurement near the charmonium production threshold., arXiv admin note: text overlap with arXiv:1610.02827 and substantial text overlap with arXiv:1510.02667

Abstract

International audience; Modern high luminosity e^+e^− factories, like Belle II at SuperKEKB or planned Super Charm-Tau factory require fast calorimeters to cope with severe background conditions. The prototype of the fast electromagnetic calorimeter based on pure CsI scintillation crystals, wavelength shifters with the novel nanostructured organosilicon luminophores, and avalanche photodiodes Hamamatsu S8664-55 is discussed. The results of the tests of the basic element of the calorimeter are reported.

Abstract

A search for the rare decay $\eta \rightarrow e^+e^-$ is performed using the inverse process $e^+e^- \rightarrow \eta$ in the decay mode $\eta\to\pi^0\pi^0\pi^0 $. We analyze data with an integrated luminosity of 654 nb$^{-1} $ accumulated at the VEPP-2000 $e^+e^-$ collider with the SND detector at the center-of-mass energy $E=m_\eta c ^2\approx 548 $ MeV, and set the upper limit $ {\cal B} (\eta \rightarrow e^+ e^-) < 7 \times 10^{-7} $ at the 90\% confidence level.

The product of the electronic width of the J/ψ meson and the branching fractions of its decay to hadrons and electrons has been measured using the KEDR detector at the VEPP-4M e + e − collider. The obtained values are $$ \begin{array}{c}\hfill {\Gamma}_{ee}\left(J/\psi \right)=5.550\pm 0.056\pm 0.089\kern0.5em \mathrm{keV},\hfill \\ {}\hfill {\Gamma}_{ee}\left(J/\psi \right)\cdotp {\mathrm{\mathcal{B}}}_{\mathrm{hadrons}}\left(J/\psi \right)=4.884\pm 0.048\pm 0.078\kern0.5em \mathrm{keV},\hfill \\ {}\hfill {\Gamma}_{ee}\left(J/\psi \right)\cdotp {\mathrm{\mathcal{B}}}_{ee}\left(J/\psi \right)=0.3331\pm 0.0066\pm 0.0040\kern0.5em \mathrm{keV}.\hfill \end{array} $$ Γ e e J / ψ = 5.550 ± 0.056 ± 0.089 keV , Γ e e J / ψ · ℬ hadrons J / ψ = 4.884 ± 0.048 ± 0.078 keV , Γ e e J / ψ · ℬ e e J / ψ = 0.3331 ± 0.0066 ± 0.0040 keV . The uncertainties shown are statistical and systematic, respectively. Using the result presented and the world-average value of the electronic branching fraction, one obtains the total width of the J/ψ meson: $$ \Gamma =92.94\pm 1.83\kern0.5em \mathrm{keV}. $$ Γ = 92.94 ± 1.83 keV . These results are consistent with the previous experiments.

Abstract

Using data recorded with the Belle detector, we observe a new excited hyperon, an Ω*- candidate decaying into Ξ0K- and Ξ-KS0 with a mass of 2012.4±0.7(stat)±0.6(syst) MeV/c2 and a width of Γ=6.4-2.0+2.5(stat)±1.6(syst) MeV. The Ω*- is seen primarily in ϒ(1S),ϒ(2S), and ϒ(3S) decays.

Abstract

We investigate the nature of transport and ferromagnetic properties of the epitaxial GaAs structure with the Mn δ-doped layer. To modify the properties of the structure electrically active radiation defects are created by irradiation with 50 keV helium ions and a fluence in the range of 1 × 1011–1 × 1013 cm−2. The investigations show that transport properties of the structure are determined by two parallel conduction channels (the channel associated with hole transport in a valence band and the channel associated with electron transport in the Mn-related impurity band) and that ferromagnetic properties are determined by electrons localized at allowed states within the Mn impurity band. The ferromagnetic properties of the Mn δ-layer region cannot be affected by the closely located InGaAs quantum well, since the presence of quantum well has negligible influence on the Mn impurity band filling by electrons.

Abstract

The ${e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{K}^{+}{K}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ cross section is measured in the center-of-mass energy range 1.05--2.00 GeV at the SND detector. The measurement is based on data with an integrated luminosity of $35\text{ }\text{ }{\mathrm{pb}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$ collected at the VEPP-2000 ${e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}$-collider. The obtained results are consistent with the previous most accurate data obtained in the BABAR experiment and have a comparable accuracy.

Abstract

Latest results on study of processes of $e^+e^-$ annihilation into exclusive hadronic states at $\sqrt{s}$ < 2 GeV obtained in the SND experiment at the VEPP-2M and VEPP-2000 colliders are presented. In particular, we announce results of the precise measurements of the $e^+e^-\to \pi^0 \gamma$ and $e^+e^-\to K^+ K^-$ cross sections, the first measurements of the $e^+e^-\to \omega \pi^0 \eta$ and $e^+e^-\to \pi^+ \pi^-\pi^0 \eta$ reactions and preliminary results of measurement of the $e^+e^-\to \pi^+ \pi^-$ cross section in energy range 0.5 < $\sqrt{s}$ < 0.9 GeV.

Abstract

The e+e-→ηπ+π- cross section is measured at the Spherical Neutral Detector (SND) detector in the η decay mode η→3π0. The analysis is based on the data sample with an integrated luminosity of 32.7 pb-1 collected at the VEPP-2000 e+e- collider in the center-of-mass energy range s=1.075–2.000 GeV. The data obtained in the η→3π0 decay mode are found to be in agreement with the previous SND measurements in the η→γγ mode. Therefore the measurements in the two modes are combined.

Abstract

The new spectrometric channel for the Spherical Neutral Detector (SND) electromagnetic calorimeter (EMC) is described. It provides measurement of the calorimeter signal arrival time and amplitude with 1 ns and 250 keV resolutions, respectively. The new electronics is useful for reliable detection of low-speed anti-neutrons from the e + e − → n n reaction near threshold and needed for increasing the EMC operation rate. The algorithm of determination of signal parameters (time, amplitude) is based on invariability of the signal waveform. We present the procedure of the waveform calibration using signals from cosmic-muon and Bhabha scattering events.

Abstract

We present the analysis of all KEDR data on the determination of J / ψ and ψ ( 2 S ) masses. The data comprise six scans of J / ψ and seven scans of ψ ( 2 S ) which were performed at the VEPP-4M e + e − collider in 2002–2008. The beam energy was determined using the resonance depolarization method. The detector and accelerator conditions during scans were very different that increases the reliability of the averaged results. The analysis accounts for partial correlations of systematic uncertainties on the masses. The following mass values were obtained: M J / ψ = 3096.900 ± 0.002 ± 0.006 MeV , M ψ ( 2 S ) = 3686.099 ± 0.004 ± 0.009 MeV . These results supersede our previous measurements published in 2003 and 2012.

Abstract

We report the first evidence for isospin violation in B -> K*gamma and the first measurement of the difference of CP asymmetries between B+->.K*(+)gamma and B-0 -> K-*0 gamma. This analysis is based on the data sample containing 772 x 10(6)BB pairs that was collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB energy-asymmetric e(+)e(-) collider. We find evidence for the isospin violation with a significance of 3.1 sigma, Delta(0+) = [+6.2 +/- 1.5(stat) +/- 0.6(syst) +/- 1.2(f (+-)/f(00))] %, where the third uncertainty is due to the uncertainty on the fraction of B+B- to (BB0)-B-0 production in gamma(4S) decays. The measured value is consistent with predictions of the standard model. The result for the difference of CP asymmetries is Delta A(CP) = [+2.4 +/- 2.8(stat) +/- 0.5(syst)] %, consistent with zero. The measured branching fractions and CP asymmetries for charged and neutral B meson decays are the most precise to date. We also calculate the ratio of branching fractions of B-0 -> K-*0 gamma to B-s(0) -> phi gamma.
