AIM To investigate the prevalence and clinical significance of autoimmune liver disease (ALD)-related autoantibodies in patients with biliary atresia (BA). METHODS Sera of 124 BA patients and 140 age-matched non-BA controls were assayed for detection of the following autoantibodies: ALD profile and specific anti-nuclear antibodies (ANAs), by line-blot assay; ANA and anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA), by indirect immunofluorescence assay; specific ANCAs and anti-M2-3E, by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay. Associations of these autoantibodies with the clinical features of BA (i.e., cytomegalovirus infection, degree of liver fibrosis, and short-term prognosis of Kasai procedure) were evaluated by Spearman's correlation coefficient. RESULTS The overall positive rate of serum autoantibodies in preoperative BA patients was 56.5%. ALD profile assay showed that the positive reaction to primary biliary cholangitis-related autoantibodies in BA patients was higher than that to autoimmune hepatitis-related autoantibodies. Among these autoantibodies, anti-BPO was detected more frequently in the BA patients than in the controls (14.8% vs 2.2%, P < 0.05). Accordingly, 32 (25.8%) of the 124 BA patients also showed a high positive reaction for anti-M2-3E. By comparison, the controls had a remarkably lower frequency of anti-M2-3E (P < 0.05), with 6/92 (8.6%) of patients with other liver diseases and 2/48 (4.2%) of healthy controls. The prevalence of ANA in BA patients was 11.3%, which was higher than that in disease controls (3.3%, P < 0.05), but the reactivity to specific ANAs was only 8.2%. The prevalence of ANCAs (ANCA or specific ANCAs) in BA patients was also remarkably higher than that in the healthy controls (37.9% vs 6.3%, P < 0.05), but showed no difference from that in patients with other cholestasis. ANCA positivity was closely associated with the occurrence of postoperative cholangitis (r = 0.61, P < 0.05), whereas none of the autoantibodies showed a correlation to cytomegalovirus infection or the stages of liver fibrosis. CONCLUSION High prevalence of autoantibodies in the BA developmental process strongly reveals the autoimmune-mediated pathogenesis. Serological ANCA positivity may be a useful predictive biomarker of postoperative cholangitis.

Research on the two dimensional materials has been extremely active for the past decade. In our work, two structures with several-atom thickness are constructed by cleaving bulk FeS2 along (1 0 0) and (1 1 1) directions, respectively. Two nanostructures, S-FeS2 and T-FeS2, emerge after a dramatic atom-reconstruction. They have been proven to be free-standing stable by lattice dynamic calculations. More importantly, they possess distinct electronic structures and novel magnetism. Additionally, the magnetic moments can be modulated by external mechanical strains. These two-dimensional FeS2 nanomaterials are expected to be used as high-performance magnetic nano electronic devices.

The engagement of Epstein-Barr virus (EBV)-induced protein ligands in γδ T-cell-mediated anti-EBV immunity, especially in EBV-associated B-cell malignancies, has not been fully elucidated. Previously we reported the overexpression of human MutS homologue 2 (hMSH2), a stress-inducible protein ligand for human γδ T-cells, on EBV-transformed B lymphoblastic cell lines (B-LCLs). In this study, we first generated EBV-transformed B-LCLs from peripheral blood mononuclear cells of healthy volunteers with B95-8 cellular supernatant and cyclosporine A. Secondly, we demonstrated the significantly elevated cell surface protein expression and mRNA transcription of hMSH2 in EBV-transformed B-LCLs, 3D5 and EBV-positive B lymphoma cell line Daudi and Raji. Thirdly, hMSH2-mediated recognition of EBV-transformed B malignant cells by human γδ T-cells was confirmed by specific antibody blocking and siRNA interference. Both TCRγδ and NKG2D participated in hMSH2-mediated recognition of EBV-transformed B malignant cells. Furthermore, hMSH3 and hMSH6, the companion proteins of hMSH2, along with CD98, were found overexpressed on the surface of EBV-transformed malignant B-cells. We concluded that the induced overexpression of hMSH proteins might serve as early alerting biomarkers emerged in EBV-related B-cell malignances or as potential targets for establishing γδ T-cell-based therapeutic immunotherapies towards EBV infection.

6CrW2MoVSi steel has a refined and even microstructure after heat treatment, the average size of annealing carbide is 0.6 μm; quenching martensite is mainly lath-shaped martensite and only a small amount of acicular martensite, and the size of quenching acicular at 950 °C is smaller than 2.5 μm. The curve of quenching hardness increasing with quenching temperature rising is divided into three sections. In the middle section of quenching between 910 °C ~ 980 °C, quenching hardness presents slow rising trend. After higher temperature quenching, there are low and high temperature tempering precipitation hardening zones. At 220 °C ~ 240 °C tempering temperature, precipitation hardness is HRC54 ~ 58. At 540 °C ~ 570 °C tempering temperature, precipitation hardness is HRC52 ~ 56.

The molecular dynamic method and interface diffusion theory are used to simulate Ni/Al metal interface diffusion. One of the unit cells containing 576 Ni atoms and 128 Al atoms is chosen and computed under different temperatures (600K, 700K, 800K, 900K, 1000K, 1100K, 1200K, 1300K), respectively. We mainly analyze the position image of the interface diffusion atoms of Ni/Al interface reaction and the radial distribution function curve of the selected region, after the molecular dynamics program running 1200000 steps, under different temperatures, at initial diffusion time.

The prevalence rates of anti-citrullinated protein/peptide antibodies (ACPAs) were investigated in a cohort of juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) patients, and their diagnostic performances were compared. ACPAs, including anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide IgG (anti-CCP), anti-CCP IgG/IgA (anti-CCP3.1), citrullinated recombinant rat filaggrin antibodies (CPA), anti-mutated citrullinated vimentin (anti-MCV), and antibodies to citrullinated human IgG-derived peptides (RA/CP), were measured in the sera from 81 JIA patients. Serum samples from 55 children with other joint diseases or viral infections and 49 healthy donors were tested as controls. Of the 81 JIA patients, 7 (8.6%), 8 (9.9%), 17 (21.0%), 23 (28.4%), and 18 (22.2%) were found to be positive for anti-CCP, anti-CCP3.1, CPA, anti-MCV, and RA/CP, respectively, with specificities of 98.1, 95.1, 93.3, 84.6, and 86.5%. Analysis by subtype revealed that 7/7 (100%) of RF-positive polyarticular JIA patients tested positive at high serum levels for anti-MCV or RA/CP, and 5/7 (71.4%) were positive for anti-CCP, anti- CCP3.1, or CPA (P < 0.001, compared with controls). Eighteen of 81 JIA patients demonstrated joint erosions on radiographs and erosive arthritis occurred more often in ACPAs positive patients (P < 0.01). Our findings indicate that although ACPAs are not satisfactory screening biomarkers for JIA due to low sensitivity, ACPA measurement can aid in diagnosing RF-positive polyarticular JIA and identifying JIA patients with severe bone involvement. The diagnostic performance of each ACPA in JIA is different, and the careful selection of assays is necessary.

The temper-resistance temperature of Cr-W-Mo-V high carbon medium alloy steels is in a range at 200°C-300°C. Along with increasing C and alloy contents in particular Cr content of the steels, the temper-resistance is boost up gradually and maximal hardness arrives to 63-64HRC at temperature 200°C-250°C. When budget for quenching matrix composition and undissolved carbides, the actual quenching temperature TH is corresponding to the calculational temperature TC by phase-equilibrium thermodynamics as TH=TC + (1000°C－TC)/6.5, and roughly, the calculational temperature is less 20°C than actual temperature when quenching at 800°C-890°C. The carbides precipitation during tempering is agreement with phase equilibrium thermodynamic calculation incompletely, thereinto (Fe,Cr)3C carbide precipitation is leading at 200°C-250°C.The higher hardness at temper-resistance temperature is corresponding to tempering temperature of remnant austenitic decomposing acutely.The tempering hardness can be estimated on the basis of quenching hardness calculation. The quenching hardness value can be obtained from HC=α（1+β）/(0.00915α+0.00527), in which α is the square root of carbon content in the matrix and β is correction coefficient of solid solution strengthening.

The basic theory of molecular dynamics and interface diffusion theory are used to simulate metal Ni/Al interface diffusion. The position image of the interface diffusion atoms and radial distribution function curve of Ni/Al interface reaction at initial time at a high temperature can be got. Through these images of diffusion atoms position, it is observed that there is a lot of change during the simulation process. The Al atoms layer of the matrix begins to melt at first. Ni atoms in the matrix begin to diffuse outward rapidly in large quantities. Al atoms overall diffuse to one side of the matrix at a relatively low speed, inter-diffusion layer thickness increases continuously and inter-diffusion atoms are solidified gradually from one side of the matrix to the surface. The process of change has been further verified in the corresponding radial distribution function curves. These conclusions can provide a theoretical reference for the technology of new materials preparation and the expansion of the environment of Ni/Al use.

By analysis of the theoretical calculation, it is obvious that the bimetallic bonding of the copper clad aluminum wire by clad drawing at room temperature is the action results of collective gravitation of a great lot of two metal surface atoms reciprocally by outside force. The interatomic potential energy of the closer atoms of two metal surfaces is obvious lower, so as to change for electron within the distance. The interdiffusion of the bimetallic surface atoms by clad drawing at room temperature, is good for improving the bond strength, but is not necessary.

The calculation and application of alloy design for DM6S and DM8B high carbon alloy steels with ultra-fine caebides were introduced in this paper. On the basis of carbides transformation orderliness in Cr-W-Mo-V high carbon alloy steel at different temperature, the structure and composition of the phases and its transformation orderliness in the steels at different temperature were estimated by phase-equilibrium thermodynamic calculation for Fe-Cr-W-Mo-V-Si-Mn-Ni-C system. The rational heat treatment technics were concluded on the basis of the matrix composition at different austenitizing temperature, and the hardness of quenching and secondary hardening was doped out. The yield strength and the toughness can be forecasted on the basis of average cohesive-energy of martensit matrix by the calculation at electronic and atomic scale. The practice of two new steels DM6S and DM8B shows that the prospective objective can be obtained by theoretic design adding a small quantity of technical tests.

The effect of pre-treatment on carbide transformation and morphology of a medium-alloy high carbon steel (0.86C, 0.84Cr, 1.85W, 0.95Mo, 0.31V) with multi-elements was investigated in this paper. The results show that there are multiple types of carbides (M3C、M23C6、M7C3、M6C、MC) in the annealed steel. The morphology of carbide in the annealing microstructure largely relate to the process before annealing. Carbides with disperse spherical and short rod-like distribution exist in the ferritic matrix when the steels are annealed at 820−860°C. The spherical carbides in the ferritic matrix can be obtained by isothermal annealing at 680−720°C after heating at 800°C. The morphology of carbides with different pretreatment process relate to carbide transformation, which can be described by calculating based on phase equilibrium thermodynamic.

The hydrothermal reactions of CuCl with 1,3-bis(4-pyridyl)propane (bpp), 1,3-benzenedicarboxylic acid (1,3-H2bdc), and KOH in water afforded {[Cu8Cl4(bpp)8][(1,3-Hbdc)4(H2O)9.5]}n (1). Single-crystal X-ray diffraction revealed that 1 has anionic [(1,3-Hbdc)4(H2O)9.5]n4n− water cluster chains that are encapsulated into the 1D channels of a 3-D [Cu8Cl4(bpp)8]n4n+ cationic framework. The thermal and luminescent properties of 1 in the solid state were also investigated.

The hydrothermal reaction of Co/Zn salts with H 2 bdoa (bdoa = benzene-1,4-dioxydiacetate) and bpp (bpp = 1,3-bis(4-pyridyl)propane) give rise to two eight-connected three-dimensional (3D) coordination polymers namely, [M 2 (C 10 H 8 O 6 ) 2 (C 13 H 14 N 2 ) 2 H 2 O] n , ( 1 M = Co, 2 M = Zn). In 1 and 2 , metal ions firstly bind bdoa ligand to construct grid-like 2D layers and bpp ligands further connect neighboring 2D layers to form eight-connected network. All the two complexes have been fully characterized by infrared spectroscopy, elemental analysis and X-ray diffraction. In addition, magnetic properties for 1 , photoluminescent properties for 2 are discussed associated with their crystal structure in this paper.

As people deeply study the electronic spectra of fluorescent compounds and photophysical behavior, enormous progress has been made in the aspect of changes and states of different systems in the use of fluorescent molecules as probes. PTC-DA is a kind of typical fluorescent molecular probe that is highly sensitive and selective in water environment. This paper makes a research on the physical mechanism of light of PTCDA by TDF (Density Functional Theory), calculates the optimal configuration the charge population and excitation spectra of PTCDA molecules under ideal condition and acquires PTCDA fluorescence emission spectra then analyses that PTCDA is a kind of quenching and dual colorimetric signal probe response. Its optical signal response mechanism belongs to ICT (Intramolecular Charge Transfer) mechanism. According to the results, this perylene derivatives is fitted with Cu2+ excited state absorption spectra. Before and after the combination with Cu2+, the peak shape of absorption spectrum is similar. When copper is added, the overall absorption peak position occurred redshift, quenching discoloration happens. By comparing with experimental values, the calculated molecular configuration is reasonable and effective and the peak of excitation spectra is realistic. Analysis shows that: PTCDA molecules divalent copper ions have better fluorescence detection activity, the optical signal response mechanisms are intramolecular charge transfer (ICT) mechanisms. When a molecule receives divalent copper ions, the absorption spectrum peak position redshifts, intramolecular charge transfer direction and intensity changes. There occur both quenching signal and discoloration signal. It is a kind of fluorescent probe material with double quenching and discoloration fluorescent signal, which has great potential for development. This paper makes an early-stage exploration of the physical mechanism of light response mechanism analysis in molecular fluorescent probe field and can be a systematically valuable theoretical reference for this field.

Two stable supramolecular microporous cobalt(II) polymers, namely [Co(HAIP)2]n.3nH2O (1) and [Co(AIP)(H2O)]n (2), AIP = 5-aminoisophthalate, were hydrothermally synthesized and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, IR spectra, thermogravimetric analyses, and variable-temperature magnetic susceptibility measurements. The two complexes are constructed from the same Co2(CO2)2 SBU, which is extended into a 1D chain in 1 and a 2D layer in 2. As a result, 1 and 2 are 2D and 3D coordination polymers, respectively. The 3D supramolecular network of complex 1 is held up by strong hydrogen bonds formed between carboxylate groups and shows very high stability when the free H2O molecules are removed, indicating an extraordinarily stable H-bonding system. Upon water ligands being liberated, complex 2 becomes a stable microporous solid with coordination-unsaturated Co centers. The behavior of the susceptibility curve of 1 suggests the occurrence of an interesting intrachain antiferromagnetic coupling between the Co(II) ions and the presence of a significant orbital contribution, whereas the features of 2 indicate an antiferromagnetic coupling with T(N) = 3.5 K and a long-range antiferromagnetic order with a field-induced magnetic transition.

Conventional solution method yields an interesting supramolecular complex—[(CMCR)(phen) 3 ]·H 2 O ( 1 ) which was characterized by crystallography. The unique embed-buckle architecture was formed through intra- and/or intermolecular hydrogen bonds and C–H⋯π interactions between the host—C-methylcalix[4]resorcarene (CMCR) and guest—1,10-phenanthroline (phen). The extended conjugated system of ( 1 ) results in an enlarged cavity in host molecule and further to the enhanced fluorescent property.

Two novel Cd(II)-citrate complexes were obtained with different metal/ligand ratios through hydrothermal method. Their structures were determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. Although their topological structures are both 2-D layer network assemblies, both central Cd(II) ions and Hcit3− ligands display completely different coordination modes. In polymeric complex 1, Hcit3− serves as a μ10-bridged and central Cd(II) ions adopt 6- and 8-coordinated configurations. In contrast, a μ9-bridged and 6- and 7-coordinated environments between Cd(II) and Hcit3− are established in the polymeric complex 2. Two Complexes remain stable up to approximately 300 °C. The complex 1 exhibits strong fluorescent emission band at 450 nm (λ=346 nm) as well as complex 2 exhibits strong fluorescent emission band at 430 (λ=346 nm).

Presented here is a new photoluminescent homochiral Cd(II) camphorate with auxiliary 2-(4-pyridyl)benzimidazole ligand, which is the first homochiral metal-organic framework adopting the 5-connected BN topology.

Catalytic properties of the title heteropoly compound, K0.5(NH4)5.5[MnMo9O32]·6H2O, were studied in homogeneous phenol hydroxylation with 30% hydrogen peroxide as oxidant. The effects of the amount of the title compound and V2O5, temperature, time, solvent and phenol/H2O2 molar ratio on catalytic activity were investigated. The experimental results indicated that the title heteropoly complex in the presence of V2O5 was an effective catalyst for the phenol hydroxylation with hydrogen peroxide. Under optimum conditions, the conversion of phenol was 45.04%; the yield and the selectivity of hydroquinone were 38.64% and 85.79%, respectively.

The hydrothermal reaction of zinc acetate with isophthalate (ip) and 4,4-bipyridine (4,4-bipy) in alkaline solution yielded a novel coordination polymer [Zn(ip)(4,4-bipy)2][Zn(ip)(4,4-bipy)]·0.25H2O, whose three-dimensional network was constructed by the paratactic assembly of two distinct units in an ABCD array.

The title compound, [CoII(C10H8O6)(C10H8N2)(H2O)2]n, was obtained by the hydro­thermal reaction of CoSO4 with benzene-1,4-dioxy­di­acetate [systematic name: p-phenyl­ene­bis­(oxy­acetate)] and 4,4′-bi­pyridine (4,4′-bpy). The Co atom lies at an inversion center and the benzene-1,4-dioxydiacetate and 4,4′-bipyridine moieties lie about other inversion centers. The benzene-1,4-dioxydiacetate ligands bridge the octahedral CoII coordination centers, forming a one-dimensional zigzag chain. The chains are further bridged by 4,4′-bpy ligands, forming a novel two-dimensional supramolecular architecture. Hydro­gen-bonding interactions between the coordinated water mol­ecules and the carboxyl­ate O atoms lead to the formation of a three-dimensional network structure.

3-hydroxyl flavone (3-HF), a typical representative of the second generation new fluorescence molecular probe, was studied by high-accuracy quantum chemical methods, density functional theory (DFT), in the present paper. The photo-physics mechanism of 3-HF as fluorescence molecular probe was studied by the calculation of the optimum geometry structure, charge population and excitation spectrum, in the ideal condition. Then the calculation results were analyzed, and the photo-physics looping graph was plotted for the elucidation of the mechanism. Compared with the experiments, the geometry structure obtained by our calculation is in good agreement, and the errors in the calculated excitation spectrum are in a reasonable limitation. As in this paper, it is only a tentative research work in the field of molecule fluorescence probe with the method of quantum chemistry calculation, and we hope that it could provide systematically valuable theoretical reference in this field in the future.

A three-dimensional potential energy surface of the electronic ground state of ZnH2 () molecule is constructed from more than 7500 ab initio points calculated at the internally contracted multireference configuration interaction with the Davidson correction (icMRCI+Q) level employing large basis sets. The calculated relative energies of various dissociation reactions are in good agreement with the previous theoretical/experimental values. Low-lying vibrational energy levels of ZnH2, ZnD2, and HZnD are calculated on the three-dimensional potential energy surface using the Lanczos algorithm, and found to be in good agreement with the available experimental band origins and the previous theoretical values. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The asymmetric unit of the title compound, {[Cu(CO(3))(C(14)H(14)N(4))(1.5)] x 0.5 C(14)H(14)N(4) x 5 H(2)O}(n), contains one Cu(II) cation in a slightly distorted square-pyramidal coordination environment, one CO(3)(2-) anion, one full and two half 1,4-bis(imidazol-1-ylmethyl)benzene (bix) ligands, one half-molecule of which is uncoordinated, and five uncoordinated water molecules. One of the coordinated bix ligands and the uncoordinated bix molecule are situated about centers of symmetry, located at the centers of the benzene rings. The coordinated bix ligands link the copper(II) ions into a [Cu(bix)(1.5)](n) molecular ladder. These molecular ladders do not form interpenetrated ladders but are arranged in an ABAB parallel terrace, i.e. with the ladders arranged one above another, with sequence A translated with respect to B by 8 A. To best of our knowledge, this arrangement has not been observed in any of the molecular ladder frameworks synthesized to date. The coordination environment of the Cu(II) atom is completed by two O atoms of the CO(3)(2-) anion. The framework is further strengthened by extensive O-H...O and O-H...N hydrogen bonds involving the water molecules, the O atoms of the CO(3)(2-) anion and the N atoms of the bix ligands. This study describes the first example of a molecular ladder coordination polymer based on bix and therefore demonstrates further the usefulness of bix as a versatile multidentate ligand for constructing coordination polymers with interesting architectures.

The title compound, [Zn(C(8)H(4)O(4))(C(13)H(14)N(2))](n), was obtained by the hydro-thermal reaction of Zn(OAc)(2)·H(2)O with 1,3-di-4-pyridylpropane (bpp) and isophthalic acid (H(2)ip). The Zn(II) ion is coordinated by two bpp and two ip ligands in a distorted tetra-hedral environment. Each ligand coordinates in a bridging mode to connect Zn(II) ions into a three-dimensional diamondoid-type structure.

The title compound, [Zn(C8H5O4)2(C10H8N2)2], was obtained by the hydrothermal reaction of ZnSO4.7H2O with phthalic acid (H2pht) and 4,4'-bipyridine (4,4'-bipy). Crystallographic analysis shows that it has a one-dimensional double-chain structure via hydrogen-bonding interactions. Each Zn(II) atom, adopting a distorted tetrahedral geometry, is coordinated by two N atoms from two 4,4'-bipy ligands, with Zn-N distances of 2.054 (4) and 2.104 (4) A, and by two O atoms from symmetry-related Hpht- ligands, with Zn-O distances of 1.921 (4) and 2.019 (4) A.

In the title compound, [Co(C12H8N2)2(C17H8O9)]·H2O, the Co atom is octahedrally coordinated by four N atoms from two 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) ligands and two O atoms from the 2-carboxy-4-(4-carboxy-3-carboxylatobenzoyl)benzoate ligand. O...H...O hydrogen bonds link this discrete structure into a one-dimensional chain.

The title compound, [ZnII(C8H8O6)(C8H8N2)(H2O)2] n , contains a Zn atom coordinated by 4,4′-bipyridine, benzene-1,4-dioxydiacetate and two water molecules. The Zn atom lies on an inversion centre and the benzene-1,4-dioxydiacetate and 4,4-bipyridine ligands lie about other inversion centres.

The title compound, [Sm2(C10H2O8)(C10H4O8)(H2O)2]n or [Sm2(btec)(H2btec)(H2O)2]n, was synthesized hydro­­thermally by the reaction of Sm2O3 with 1,2,4,5-ben­zene­tetra­carboxylic acid (H4btec). The Sm atom is coordinated by nine O atoms, three from H2btec2−, five from btec4− and one from a coordinated water mol­ecule. Sm—O distances range from 2.376 (3) to 2.558 (5) A.

In the title compound, [Zn2(C7H4O2S)2(C12H8N2)2], the Zn complex forms a centrosymmetric dimer with a Zn⋯Zn separation of 3.580 (1) A. Each Zn atom is coordinated by two N atoms from the 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) ligand and by three O atoms and one S atom from the thio­salicylate ligands in a highly distorted octa­hedral geometry, with Zn—N distances of 2.119 (2) and 2.166 (2) A, Zn—O distances in the range 2.161 (2)–2.329 (2) A, and a Zn—S distance of 2.3034 (12) A. There are π–π stacking inter­actions between the phen rings, forming a stacking arrangement along the c axis in the crystal structure.

The title compound, C10H8N2·2C7H5NO4, was obtained as a by-product of the hydro­thermal reaction of ZnSO4 with 2-nitro­benzoic acid and 4,4′-bipyridine. The 4,4′-bipyridine molecule lies on an inversion centre. There are O—H⋯N and C—H⋯O hydrogen bonds between the components in the crystal structure.

The title compound, C13H14N2·C8H6O4, was obtained by the hydro­thermal reaction of CuCl with 1,2,4,5-benzene­tetra­carboxylic acid and 1,3-bis­(4-pyrid­yl)propane. The 1,3-bis­(4-pyrid­yl)propane mol­ecule lies on a crystallographic twofold axis, and terephthalic acid is on an inversion centre. In the crystal structure, strong inter­molecular O—H⋯N hydrogen bonds between the components lead to the formation of zigzag chains extending along [10\overline{1}]. The chains are linked through inter­molecular C—H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

In the title mol­ecule, C14H10O4S, all bond lengths and angles are normal. In the crystal structure, strong inter­molecular O—H⋯O hydrogen bonds between the carboxyl groups link the mol­ecules into zigzag chains extending along the c axis.

The title compound, [Zn(C 8 H 5 O 4 ) 2 (C 10 H 8 N 2 ) 2 ], was obtained by the hydrothermal reaction of ZnSO 4 .7H 2 O with phthalic acid (H 2 pht) and 4,4'-bipyridine (4,4'-bipy). Crystallographic analysis shows that it has a one-dimensional double-chain structure via hydrogen-bonding interactions. Each Zn II atom, adopting a distorted tetrahedral geometry, is coordinated by two N atoms from two 4,4'-bipy ligands, with Zn-N distances of 2.054 (4) and 2.104 (4) A, and by two O atoms from symmetry-related Hpht- ligands, with Zn-O distances of 1.921 (4) and 2.019 (4) A.

The title compound, [CuCl(C13H14N2)]n, adopts an infinite one-dimensional chain structure. The CuI atom, which lies on a crystallographic mirror plane, is coordinated by the N atom from two pyridyl rings [Cu—N = 1.975 (7) A] and a Cl atom [Cu—Cl = 2.251 (4) A] in a trigonal-planar geometry. The Cl atom also lies on the mirror plane.<

The title compound, [Zn(C8H4O4)(C13H14N2)]n, was obtained by the hydro­thermal reaction of Zn(OAc)2·H2O with 1,3-di-4-pyridylpropane (bpp) and isophthalic acid (H2ip). The ZnII ion is coordinated by two bpp and two ip ligands in a distorted tetra­hedral environment. Each ligand coordinates in a bridging mode to connect ZnII ions into a three-dimensional diamondoid-type structure.
