Background:. The Shexiang Baoxin Pill (MUSKARDIA) has been used for treating coronary artery disease (CAD) and angina for more than 30 years in China. Nevertheless, methodologically sound trials on the use of MUSKARDIA in CAD patients are scarce. The aim of the study is to determine the effects of MUSKARDIA as an add-on to optimal medical therapy (OMT) in patients with stable CAD. Methods:. A total of 2674 participants with stable CAD from 97 hospitals in China were randomized 1:1 to a MUSKARDIA or placebo group for 24 months. Both groups received OMT according to local tertiary hospital protocols. The primary outcome was the occurrence of a major adverse cardiovascular event (MACE), defined as a composite of cardiovascular death, non-fatal myocardial infarction (MI), or non-fatal stroke. Secondary outcomes included all-cause mortality, non-fatal MI, non-fatal stroke, hospitalization for unstable angina or heart failure, peripheral revascularization, angina stability and angina frequency. Results:. In all, 99.7% of the patients were treated with aspirin and 93.0% with statin. After 2 years of treatment, the occurrence of MACEs was reduced by 26.9% in the MUSKARDIA group (MUSKARDIA: 1.9% vs. placebo: 2.6%; odds ratio = 0.80; 95% confidence interval: 0.45–1.07; P = 0.2869). Angina frequency was significantly reduced in the MUSKARDIA group at 18 months (P = 0.0362). Other secondary endpoints were similar between the two groups. The rates of adverse events were also similar between the two groups (MUSKARDIA: 17.7% vs. placebo: 17.4%, P = 0.8785). Conclusions:. As an add-on to OMT, MUSKARDIA is safe and significantly reduces angina frequency in patients with stable CAD. Moreover, the use of MUSKARDIA is associated with a trend toward reduced MACEs in patients with stable CAD. The results suggest that MUSKARDIA can be used to manage patients with CAD. Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) widely participate in human diseases by regulating gene transcription, modulating protein function, or acting as ceRNAs. Yet, their roles in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) remain obscure. In this study, the expression of three lncRNAs (H19, GAS5, and linc0597) in peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) were detected in 77 RA patients and 78 controls using quantitative real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR). The association of lncRNAs related gene polymorphisms with RA were evaluated in 828 RA patients and 780 controls using TaqMan single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) genotyping assays. We observed that the expression levels of H19, GAS5 and linc0597 were down-regulated in PBMCs of RA patients, of which GAS5 level decreased in patients with hypocomplementemia, and negatively correlated with C-reactive protein (CRP) level in RA patients. Moreover, we highlighted two related potential functional SNPs, GAS5 rs6790 and linc0597 rs2680700 for associations with RA susceptibility. The precise roles of these lncRNAs in mechanism of RA remain to be further explored.

Background The healthcare system (HCS) improved in Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR), China. The present study aimed to investigate whether these improvements might alter the clinicopathological characteristics of a Tibetan female with breast cancer (BC) in TAR. Methods This was a single-center cross-sectional study conducted at TAR People’s Hospital. All Tibetan adult women were treated for BC in this hospital between January 1, 1973 and December 31, 2015. The inclusion criteria were as follows: (1) Tibetan adult woman living in Tibet; (2) Histopathology or cytopathology or both confirming primary BC; (3) All the treatments were finished in this hospital. χ2 test and logistic regression were applied, using age group and census register as the two covariates. Results A total of 273 patients with BC were included in the final analysis. Of these, 14 patients were in the free HCS, 183 patients had medical insurance combined with a new rural cooperative HCS, and 76 were in a rural and urban integration HCS. Currently, a rural and urban integration HCS is an improved system. Consequently, an increase in the proportion patients in the T1–3 stage was observed (0.198; 0.046 to 0.852) between the rural and urban integration HCS and free HCS. The proportion of patients in early (I + II) stage cancer (0.110; 0.019–0.633) also increased between these two HCSs. Conclusion This was the first report about Tibetan women with BC in Tibet. Some clinicopathological characteristics at the presentation of Tibetan women with BC may improve during different HCSs. The cancer awareness, early detection, and the overall management in patients with advanced stage BC might improve the prognosis of BC in the rural and urban integration HCS.

Objective: To identify accurate occurrence and risk of cardiovascular (CV) events (stroke and myocardial infarction [MI]) in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Methods: Systemic literature search in PubMed and additional manual search were performed to obtain interested studies until March 31, 2018. The pooled incidences and risk of stroke and MI were calculated. Results: A total of 24 studies were included in this meta-analysis. For MI, a total of 1,516 SLE patients were reported to had MI (n = 96,154) over a mean follow-up of 9.98 years: incidence 2.0% (95% CI: 1.7–2.4%), i.e. 0.20/100 pyrs; in the five studies, 360 SLE patients (n = 18,943) and 817 controls had MI (n = 111,525), revealing that the risk of MI in SLE population was 3.04 times higher than in the general population (RR = 3.04, 95% CI: 1.81–5.11). For stroke, the incidence of 17 studies during the 10.09 follow-up period using random model was 4.4% (95% CI: 3.6–5.1%), i.e. 0.44/100 pyrs; in the 7 studies, 694 SLE patients (n = 22,594) and 4,034 controls had stroke (n = 255,023), indicating that the risk of MI in SLE population was 1.95 times higher than that in the general population (RR = 1.95, 95% CI: 1.52–2.53). Conclusion: Based on the findings from previous reports, our meta-analysis showed that patients with SLE have been at higher risk of CV events.

Purpose To explore the association of adiponectin (AD) and adiponectin receptor (ADR) gene single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) with genetic susceptibility to rheumatoid arthritis (RA) in a Chinese population. Study design Five AD SNPs (rs266729, rs2241766, rs1063537, rs2082940 and rs1063539) and two ADR SNPs (rs7539542 and rs12342) were genotyped in a cohort of 617 patients with RA and 639 healthy controls. Seven SNPs were genotyped using TaqMan genotyping assays on the Fluidigm 192.24 system. The concentration of AD in plasma was examined by ELISA. Results Patients with RA showed a considerably lower plasma level of AD than healthy controls (p=0.002). No significant differences were observed for the distribution of allele and genotype frequencies of rs266729, rs2241766, rs2082940, rs1063539, rs7539542 and rs12342 SNPs between patients with RA and controls. The genotype effects of recessive and dominant models were also analysed, but no marked evidence for association was found. However, further analysis in female patients with RA showed that the frequency of the AD gene rs1063539 GG genotype was nominally significantly higher in patients who were anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide (anti-CCP) antibody-positive (p=0.040). No significant differences in serum AD level were observed in patients with RA with different genotypes. Conclusions rs266729, rs2241766, rs2082940 and rs1063539 in the AD gene and rs7539542 and rs12342 in the ADR gene are possibly not associated with genetic susceptibility to RA, but the AD gene rs1063539 locus was possibly associated with anti-CCP in RA female patients.

Conclusion: Patients with RA have lower circulating IGF-1 level than healthy controls, particularly for patients from Asia and Europe. Background and Objectives: Insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) levels have been investigated in rheumatoid arthritis (RA), however, produced inconsistent results. The purpose of this meta-analysis was to derive a more precise conclusion about serum/plasma IGF-1 levels in RA patients.

In this paper, a 670 MW once-through boiler of a power plant is taken as the analysis object. The method of ANSYS numerical analysis is used to calculate the stress of the once-through boiler in different starting modes and different peaking depths. We calculate the life loss of different operating conditions according to the stress value, which provides reasonable suggestions for the life management of the once-through boiler during peak shaving, which can reduce the impact of peak shaving on boiler life.

Increasing studies have indicated the association between adipokines and multiple autoimmune diseases. This study aimed to evaluate the mRNA expression levels of vaspin, adiponectin and adrenomedullin in peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) of patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), as well as their clinical associations.A total of 46 SLE patients and 51 normal controls were recruited. The three adipokines expression levels in PBMCs from SLE patients were measured by qRT-PCR, and their associations with major clinical and laboratory parameters of SLE patients were also analysed.Compared with normal controls, vaspin expression level in PBMCs was significantly decreased (p0.001), whereas adiponectin expression level was significantly higher in SLE patients (p0.001). There was no significant difference in adrenomedullin expression level between SLE patients and normal controls. Vaspin and adrenomedullin expression levels in more active SLE were significantly lower than those in less active SLE (p=0.012, p=0.046, respectively). No significant difference in these adipokine expression levels was observed between SLE patients with and without lupus nephritis (LN). There was also no significant association between mRNA levels of these adipokines and major clinical and laboratory parameters.Altered vaspin, adiponectin expression levels, and the associations between vaspin, adrenomedullin levels and disease activity in SLE patients suggested that these adipokines might play a role in SLE.

OBJECTIVES The aim of our study was to evaluate two lncRNAs (lnc0640 and lnc5150) expressions and gene single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients. METHODS The expressions of lncRNAs in peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) were examined by quantitative real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction from 65 RA patients and 54 controls. Simultaneously, three SNPs (rs13039216, rs6085189, and rs6085190) of lnc0640, three SNPs (rs1590666, rs141561256, and rs144047453) of lnc5150 were genotyped using TaqMan SNP-genotyping assays in 627 RA patients and 590 controls. The hydrogenation reaction of several common coal related model compounds was simulated using the ReaxFF MD method. The results showed that the active sites for the hydrogenation initiation reaction were not only related to the superdelocalizability ( S r ), but also related to the steric hindrance effect. Since the activation energy required was low, the hydrogenation initiation reaction mainly occurred at the aromatic ortho-position of substituents even if the hydrogenated free radicals formed by H attaching to the substitution site was more thermodynamically stable. This indicates that the hydrogenation initiation reaction was mainly controlled by kinetics. The hydrogenated products observed in the ReaxFF MD simulation were analyzed. It was found that the ReaxFF MD simulation results were consistent with the experimental results for hydrogenation in a sulfur-free system. Therefore, the ReaxFF MD simulation provides an effective approach towards the study of the hydrogenation reaction at a molecular level.

This paper describes the design and the implement of the editor that support syntax highlighting of E-LOTOS. The editor is implemented using java Swing and JFlex.

We make the short message to be a kind of carrier, for delivering the requirements which clients required and return the answers which clients seek for. This paper contains such contents as follows based on the research of the system: analyzing the problems and defections existed in the system, enhancing the transfer mode to be a standard way, and improving the efficiency of data query and transfer. Taking advantages of the superiority of this system and innovate on the technology, we have completed a business software based on J2ME platform[2-7].In the research and development process we designed client-side functions and structural model combined with some functions used on the mobile phones, accordingly, the system technology has been practiced to some extents. And we optimize the software interface by a third party plug-in board called the “polish”, this work must will provide far-reaching significance for later research on this technology.

To investigate the relation between plasma homocysteine (Hcy) and cerebral ischemic diseases and that between polymorphism of methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) gene and cerebral ischemic diseases.The plasma homocysteine (Hcy) and genetic polymorphism of MTHFR among forty-nine cases with ischemic cerebral diseases, including 25 with acute cerebral infarction (CI) and 25 with transient ischemic attacks (TIA), were investigated. Fifty-five age- and sex-matched healthy persons were used as controls. All the subjects underwent brain CT, carotid duplex, transcranial Doppler examination, plasma Vitamin B(12) and folic acid examination, besides examination of plasma Hcy and nucleotide 677 MTHFR genotypes. The effects of age, liver function, renal function, smoking, drinking, plasma vitamin B(12), and folic acid were analyzed.The mean plasma Hcy was significantly higher in the CI group and TIA group (17.4 +/- 7.6 micromol/L and 16.6 +/- 5.2 micromol/L) compared with that in the control group (12.6 +/- 5.2 micromol/L, P0.01). The odds ratio was 3.26 (95% CI, 1.05 approximately 10.09, P0.01). The Hcy concentration was significantly higher in persons with T/T genotype than in those with C/C or CT. There was no significant difference of frequency of mutant alleles (T) in site 677 of MTHFR gene and in frequency of homozygote T/T among the patients and controls (52.0% vs. 44.0%, P0.05 and 26% vs. 20.0%, P0.05). The difference of Hcy was significant between those being T/T homozygotic and those not being T/T homozygotic in different groups. There was no statistical correlation between plasma Hcy level and extra- and intracranial stenosis of cerebral artery. Increase of BUN and smoking were significantly correlated with increase of Hcy (P0.05). The concentrations of plasma Vitamin B(12) and folic acid were significantly correlated with that of Hcy.Homozygote of mutant MTHFR gene C677T causes hyperhomocystinemia. There is a significantly association between hyperhomocystinemia and ischemic cerebrovascular disease. The frequency of mutation in MTHFR genotype is higher in Chinese than in Caucasians. In addition to gene mutation, renal function and smoking are related to increase of plasma Hcy. No correlation between genotype of MTHFR and stroke is found.

Cytogenetic studies were performed on 44 Chinese patients with acute leukemia. A high percentage of patients (37.5%) with t(8;21), t(15;17) or 17q- (in poorly banded preparations), and abnormalities involving 11q23 were noted in 32 unselected patients with ANLL. A similar high percentage was previously reported in Japan and in South Africa but not in western countries. Data on casual or other non-occupational exposure to potentially carcinogenic agents were obtained by interview with the patients at their first presentation. Most patients with these three major chromosomal changes had a history of exposure, whereas most other patients did not (p = 0.01). Patients with ANLL-M3 were more often exposed than were the other patients ( 4 6 vs 8 38 , p = 0.03 ). The only common exposure was to organophosphate insecticides. Twenty seven cases of therapy-related leukemia were collected from the Chinese medical literature, and 12 out of 22 (55%) cases in which subtypes were specified were ANLL-M3. This was significantly higher than the percentage of M3 in de novo ANLL in China and also higher than that of therapy-related leukemia from western countries. Two patients had siblings who died of leukemia at a similar age. The two patients showed inv(16) and del(6q) respectively.
