Arming at the coexistence dilemma of inventory overhang and shortage of different maintenance equipment supply nodes, a steady-state coefficient of a supply node has been described with which contains inventory level, the support degree between nodes each other, the demand status of the area guaranteed by the node and the cost of risk when the demand cannot be met. The steady-state coefficient of the inventory network was calculated on the base of all of support nodes. The active adjustment is carried out flowing the corresponding algorithm according to the gap between the steady-state coefficient and the threshold which has been set before. The scientific, automatic and intelligent level of equipment adjustment can be greatly improved, consequently the success rate of maintenance support is improved if the passive stock adjustment is combined because of out of stock at the same time.

The aim of this study was to develop a semantic search system for Khmer stone castles in the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS), in alignment with UNESCO's cultural heritage preservation guidelines. The proposed database, curated with verified, high quality data, serves as a comprehensive knowledge base for educational and research purposes. The semantic search system demonstrated high effective-ness, showcasing its potential as a benchmark for cultural information retrieval. The study contributes to establishing similar systems in diverse domains, paving the way for ontology-driven approaches to support cultural heritage preservation and sus tainable web-based information search systems. The far-reaching implications offer valuable insights for the conservation and accessibility of cultural heritage.

The annual number of human leukocyte antigen (HLA)-haploidentical allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (haplo-HCT) is increasing steadily. Comparative studies about haplo-HCT versus HCT with HLA-matched sibling donors (MSD-HCT) have been tried in acute myeloid leukemia and B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia/lymphoma (ALL). Few studies were reported in adult T-cell ALL (T-ALL). In this retrospective study, a total of 88 consecutive patients with T-ALL were enrolled who underwent MSD-HCT ( n = 24) and haplo-HCT ( n = 64) with antithymocyte globulin (ATG)-based graft versus host disease (GVHD) prophylaxis between 2010 and 2022. Median follow-up for survivors was similar (43.5 [range: 7–88] months for MSD-HCT versus 43.5 (range: 6–144) months in the Haplo-HCT group). The 100-day cumulative incidence of grade II to IV acute GVHD (aGVHD) was similar, 33% (95% confidence interval [CI], 16%–52%) after MSD-HCT versus 44% (95% CI, 31%–55%) after haplo-HCT, P = 0.52. The cumulative incidences of grade III–IV aGVHD were 8% (95% CI, 1%–23%) in the MSD-HCT group and 5% (95% CI, 1%–12%) in the haplo-HCT group ( P = 0.50). The 2-year cumulative incidence of chronic GVHD (limited and extensive) in the haplo-HCT, 11% (95% CI, 5%–20%) was significantly lower than that in the MSD-HCT group (42% [95% CI, 21%–62%], P = 0.002). The cumulative incidence of 4-year relapse rates (44% versus 37%, P = 0.56) and non-relapse mortality (7% versus 21%, P = 0.08) did not differ between these two groups. There were also no differences in 4-year overall survival (46% versus 47%, P = 0.44) and progression-free survival (49% versus 42%, P = 0.45) between these two groups. On multivariate analysis, using busulfan/fludarabine (BU/Flu) conditioning regimen was found to be associated with worse clinical outcome. Our results suggested that ATG-based haplo-HCT platform could work as an alternative to MSD-HCT for adult patients with T-ALL. Compared with MSD-HCT, haplo-HCT might carry a low risk for cGVHD.

IntroductionThe prognosis of relapsed/refractory acute myeloid leukemia (r/rAML) is dismal, and allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplant (allo-HSCT) is a potential cure. Combining anti-PD-1, hypomethylating agent (HMA), and CAG (cytarabine, aclarubicin/idarubicin, granulocyte colony-stimulating factor) regimen has showed primary efficacy in r/rAML. However, pre-transplant exposure to anti-PD-1 may lead to severe graft-versus-host disease (GVHD). This preliminary study aimed to evaluate the safety and efficacy of allo-HSCT in r/rAML patients receiving the anti-PD-1+HMA+CAG regimen.MethodsFifteen r/rAML patients (12 related haploidentical donors [HIDs], 2 matched siblings, 1 unrelated donor) received this regimen and subsequent peripheral blood HSCT.ResultsFour patients with HIDs received a GVHD prophylaxis regimen consisted of Anti-thymocyte globulin and a reduced-dose of post-transplant cyclophosphamide. The median follow-up was 20.9 months (range, 1.2-34.2). The cumulative incidences of acute GVHD grade 2-4 and grade 3-4 were 40% and 13.3%, respectively. The 2-year incidence of moderate-to-severe chronic GVHD, non-relapse mortality, and relapse were 10%, 22.3%, and 22.5%, respectively. The 2-year overall survival and GVHD-free/relapse-free survival rates were 54% and 48.6%, respectively. No death or relapse was observed in the PTCy group.ConclusionThe anti-PD-1+HMA+CAG regimen bridging to allo-HSCT for r/r AML was tolerable with promising efficacy. GVHD prophylaxis with PTCy for HID-HSCT showed preliminary survival advantage.

The effectiveness of probiotic products hinges on the viability and precise quantification of probiotic strains. This study addresses this crucial requirement by developing and validating a precise propidium monoazide combination with quantitative polymerase chain reaction (PMA-qPCR) method for quantifying viable Lacticaseibacillus paracasei in probiotic formulations. Initially, species-specific primers were meticulously designed based on core genes from the whole-genome sequence (WGS) of L. paracasei, and they underwent rigorous validation against 462 WGSs, 25 target strains, and 37 non-target strains across various taxonomic levels, ensuring extensive inclusivity and exclusivity. Subsequently, optimal PMA treatment conditions were established using 25 different L. paracasei strains to effectively inhibit dead cell DNA amplification while preserving viable cells. The developed method exhibited a robust linear relationship (R2 = 0.994) between cycle threshold (Cq) values and viable cell numbers ranging from 103 to 108 CFU/mL, with an impressive amplification efficiency of 104.48% and a quantification limit of 7.30 × 103 CFU/mL. Accuracy assessments revealed biases within ±0.5 Log10 units, while Bland–Altman analysis demonstrated a mean bias of 0.058 Log10, with 95% confidence limits of −0.366 to 0.482 Log10. Furthermore, statistical analysis (p = 0.76) indicated no significant differences between theoretical and measured values. This validated PMA-qPCR method serves as a robust and accurate tool for quantifying viable L. paracasei in various sample matrices, including pure cultures, probiotics as food ingredients, and composite probiotic products, thereby enhancing probiotic product quality assurance and contributing to consumer safety and regulatory compliance.

The Ordos area, known for its abundant coal reserves, faces significant environmental challenges annually due to coal mining. This mining activity not only leads to extensive mining subsidence and environmental pollution but also exacerbates soil erosion, exacerbated by the region's weakly cemented pisha sandstone. Addressing these issues, filling mining offers a viable solution by substituting underground mineral resources with filling materials, thereby mitigating environmental harm and facilitating sustainable resource utilization. In coal-rich cities such as Ordos, a pressing concern is developing effective methods to prepare mine-filling materials using locally abundant resources. This work delves into the effect of varying mix proportions on the strength of cement-solidified Pisha sandstone and its underlying microscopic mechanisms. Using the simplex centroid design method, we predicted the 28-d compressive strength of cement-solidified Pisha sandstone with a compound binder. Building on previous research, we formulated a strength formula for cement soil with a compound binder. By correlating the measured 28-d compressive strength with the known mix proportions of Pisha cement soil, we estimated the 28-d compressive strength of the mixture Our findings confirm that both the simplex centroid design method and strength formula can accurately predict the 28-d compressive strength of stabilized Pisha sandstone with the compound binder. Our experimental design, encompassing the simplex centroid design method, regression formula, and specific strength formula, was obtained from a limited set of tests. Incorporating the required compressive strength of cement soil into both the strength and regression formulas allows for more accurate proportion determined through mutual verification of these methods. We discovered that blending Pisha sandstone with cement significantly effects the mixed material’s strength, and that substituting cement with ground granulated blast-furnace slag (GGBS) can enhance economic efficiency. Microstructural analysis of cement soil revealed that the strength enhancement by cement and GGBS is due to their hydration products filling the pores in Pisha sandstone, creating a unique structure. The results of this study have far-reaching implications, particularly in promoting the use of modified Pisha sandstone as mine-filling material. This approach not only addresses the management of problematic regional soils but also contributes to the ecological restoration of mining areas.

Abstract Exercise-induced mechanical loading can increase bone strength whilst mechanical unloading enhances bone-loss. Here, we investigated the role of lncRNA NONMMUT004552.2 in unloading-induced bone-loss. Knockout of lncRNA NONMMUT004552.2 in hindlimb-unloaded mice caused an increase in the bone formation and osteoblast activity. The silencing of lncRNA NONMMUT004552.2 also decreased the osteoblast apoptosis and expression of Bax and cleaved caspase-3, increased Bcl-2 protein expression in MC3T3-E1 cells. Mechanistic investigations demonstrated that NONMMUT004552.2 functions as a competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA) to facilitate the protein expression of spectrin repeat containing, nuclear envelope 1 (Syne1) by competitively binding miR-15b-5p and subsequently inhibits the osteoblast differentiation and bone formation in the microgravity unloading environment. These data highlight the importance of the lncRNA NONMMUT004552.2/miR-15b-5p/Syne1 axis for the treatment of osteoporosis.

Hollow urchin-like substrates have been widely interested in the field of surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) and photocatalysis. However, most reported studies are simple nanoscale urchin-like substrate with limited light trapping range and complicated preparation process. In this paper, a simple and effective controllable synthesis strategy based on micro-nano hierarchical urchin-like ZnO/Ag hollow spheres was prepared. Compared with the 2D structure and solid spheres, the 3D urchin-like ZnO/Ag hollow sphere has higher laser utilization and more exposed specific surface area due to its special hollow structure, which resulted in excellent SERS and photocatalytic performance, and successfully realize the detection and photodegradation of antibiotics. The limited of detection of metronidazole can reach as low as 10−9 M, and degradation rate achieve 89 % within 120 min. The experimental and theoretical results confirm that the ZnO/Ag hollow spheres can be used in the development of ZnO heterostructure for the detection and degradation of antibiotics, which open new avenues for the development of novel ZnO-based substrate in SERS sensing and catalytic application to address environmental challenges.

Objective To investigate the occurrence of flight illusions and explore its influencing factors and countermeasures in army aviators in cold regions. Methods Comprehensive Flight Illusion Scale was applied to investigate flight illusions, related influencing factors and countermeasures among 74 army aviators in cold regions from December 2022 to February 2023. SPSS 22.0 statistics was used for statistical analysis to compare the differences among variables and identify the influencing factors of flight illusions. Results For the 74 issued questionnaires, all of them were retrieved validly, with a rate of 100%. The incidence rate of flight illusions was 32.43%. There was a statistical difference between flight time and the occurrence of flight illusions (P < 0.05). There were 3 types of flight illusions with higher incidences in cold regions, that is distance illusion (20.27%), tilt illusion (18.92%) and relative position illusion (16.22%). The 3 flight illusions with relatively lower incidences were detachment phenomenon (4.05%), rotational illusion (4.05%), and inverted flight illusion (2.70%). After occurrence of illusions, 66.67% of the aviators experienced symptoms such as tension, "hard-to-move lever" headache, dizziness and post-flight insomnia. Almost all of the aviators were of fully awareness and acceptance of the active approaches to dealing with flight illusions, but still 50% of them believed that passive waiting intervention measures could be used. The results of statistical analysis on related influencing factors indicated that statistical differences were observed in all the listed items except flight subject with the occurrence of flight illusions (P < 0.05). Conclusion During short period flight in cold regions in winter, army aviators experience obvious psychological and physiological reactions after occurrence of flight illusions, and their anxiety and fatigue state, external climate and landform environment, and cabin interface and flight parameters are all related to the occurrence.

Objective To explore the correlation of perceived social support with fatigue and anxiety in army aviation pilots in order to found a basis for precision intervention. Methods From July 10 to 13, 2022, random sampling was conducted to subject from an army air brigade. The participants (n=88) were surveyed with Perceived Social Support, Multidimensional Fatigue, and Anxiety Scale. Then discussions and individual communication were used to collect supplementary data. SPSS 20.0 statistics was employed for descriptive analysis in measure data and frequency analysis in enumerate data. The correlation of perceived social support with fatigue and anxiety was analyzed with Pearson analysis. Results For the 85 issued questionnaires (including all above scales), all of them were retrieved validly, with a rate of 100%. Among the 85 participants, they were 83 males (97.65%) and 2 females (2.35%), and 80 pilots (94.11%), 2 navigators (2.35%) and 3 aerial mechanics (3.53%). There were 82(96.47%) of them in an age range of 20~39 years. Moreover, the proportion of individuals with high perceived social support was 68.23% (58/85), that of low and moderate anxiety was 100% (85/85), and that of non-significant fatigue status (scored 55.71±8.48) was 98.82% (84/85), respectively. Perceived social support (scored 62.22±14.67) was negatively correlated with anxiety (scored 14.44±3.86, P < 0.01), and had no correlation with fatigue, but no obvious correlation was observed between anxiety and fatigue (P>0.05). Conclusion For the army aviators, their perceived social support may cause anxiety, and then in turn affect their operational performance and health levels. Precise intervention should be implemented to learn from social support for this population in order to improve medical support for them.

Giant phyllodes tumors are rare fibroepithelial tumors that are usually larger than 10 cm in diameter, have rapid tumor growth, and are easily recurrent. They are frequently accompanied by skin necrosis and infection, particularly in malignant phyllodes tumors. This case report presents a 50-year-old woman who presented to the hospital with a huge left breast mass that was ruptured and infected. The patient received anti-infective treatment and underwent mastectomy and skin grafting, which indicated a malignant phyllodes tumor. The tumor was completely excised after a local recurrence in the chest wall 6 months post-surgery. Unfortunately, one year later, the patient pass away due to multiple organ failure. Giant phyllodes tumor management presents challenges to the surgeon. This case is being presented to enhance understanding and treatment of phyllodes tumors, specifically giant malignant phyllodes tumors, with the aim of improving patients’ quality of life.

Abstract Positron Emission Tomography (PET) imaging has demonstrated its capability in providing time-lapse fluid flow visualisation for improving the understanding of flow properties of geologic media. To investigate the process of CO2 geo-sequestration using PET imaging technology, [11C]CO2 is the most optimal and direct radiotracer. However, it has not been extensively used due to the short half-life of Carbon-11 (20.4 minutes). In this work, a novel laboratory protocol is developed to use [11C]CO2 as radiolabelled tracer to visualise and quantify in-situ CO2 adsorption, spreading, diffusion, and advection flow in coal. This protocol consists of generation and delivering of [11C]CO2, lab-based PET scanning, subsequent micro-CT scanning, and data processing. The lab-based PET scanning setup integrates in-situ core flooding tests with PET scanning. The real-time PET images are acquired under different storage conditions, including early gas production stage, depleted stage, and late storage stage. These datasets can be used to study across-scale theoretical and experimental study of CO2 flow behaviour in coal with the application to CO2 geo-sequestration.

In order to study the quality variation of Longjing 31 rice in ordinary and negative-pressed rice bucket put in the environment with high temperature and high humidity and room temperature during storage, rice color parameters, fatty acid value, taste value, amylose content, protein content, fatty acid compositions, gelatinization characteristics of rice flour were measured. Two dimensions of rice quality under storage conditions and storage time were analyzed by radar analysis. It showed that high temperature, high humidity and storage time could step up the deterioration of rice quality. Different storage conditions and time had significant effects on peak (1 991~2 859 cP), final (2 650~3 334 cP) and trough viscosity (1 459~2 182 cP), fatty acid value (2.74~32.58 mg/100 g), oleic (1.12~1.81 mg/g) and linoleic acid (2.68~3.53 mg/g), as well as the taste value (68.72~80.30 score) (P < 0.05). The radar map analysis showed that quality deterioration indexes of rice stored in high temperature and high humidity ordinary rice bucket were mainly reflected in fatty acid value, oleic acid and linoleic acid; quality deterioration indexes of rice stored in high temperature and high humidity negative-pressed rice bucket were mainly reflected in peak viscosity and final viscosity; quality deterioration indexes of rice stored in common rice bucket at room temperature and negative-pressed rice bucket at room temperature were mainly reflected in peak viscosity and trough viscosity, respectively. For different storage time, the peak and trough viscosity showed a trend of first increase and second decrease, the fatty acid value increased continually, the oleic acid and linoleic acid contents sharply decreased after storage for a certain time, and the taste value gradually decreased. To sum up, it showed that the negative-pressed rice bucket could better maintain the rice quality for short time (15 days) storage, and there were no significant differences between ordinary and negative-pressed rice buckets for long periods (15 days or more) of rice storage.

Abstract Carbonyl aromatic compounds are promising cathode candidates for lithium‐ion batteries (LIBs) because of their low weight and absence of cobalt and other metals, but they face constraints of limited redox‐potential and low stability compared to traditional inorganic cathode materials. Herein, by means of first‐principles calculations, a significant improvement of the electrochemical performance for carbonyl‐bridged heterotriangulenes (CBHTs) is reported by introducing pyridinic N in their skeletons. Different center atoms (B, N, and P) and different types of functionalization with nitrogen effectively regulate the redox activity, conductivity, and solubility of CBHTs by influencing their electron affinity, energy levels of frontier orbitals and molecular polarity. By incorporating pyridinic N adjacent to the carbonyl groups, the electrochemical performance of N‐functionalized CBHTs is significantly improved. Foremost, the estimated energy density reaches 1524 Wh kg−1 for carbonyl‐bridged tri (3,5‐pyrimidyl) borane, 50% higher than in the inorganic reference material LiCoO2, rendering N‐functionalized CBHTs promising organic cathode materials for LIBs. The investigation reveals the underlying structure‐performance relationship of conjugated carbonyl compounds and sheds new lights for the rational design of redox‐active organic molecules for high‐performance lithium ion batteries (LIBs).

ABSTRACT Objective: Quality of Life (QoL) has been a multifactorial concerning issue in oncology. We aimed to inspect the pre-operative QoL among patients with craniopharyngioma and to explore the potential correlations between parameters of QoL and clinical indices. Subjects and methods: We enrolled a total of 109 patients with craniopharyngioma. We utilized Short Form 36 (SF-36), Symptom Check List-90, Generalized Anxiety Disorder Questionnaire scale (GAD7), Patient Health Questionnaire Depression (PHQ9) and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index to prospectively evaluated their QoL. Parameters of QoL along with clinical indices were compared among sub-groups divided according to Puget classification. Correlation analyses and regression analyses were performed to detect influential determinants to self-reported wellness. Results: Patients presented impaired QoL compared with general population ( p < 0.001), as assessed by SF-36. Correlation analyses indicated the detrimental influence resulting from central diabetes insipidus (CDI). Multivariate linear regression unveiled the adverse effect of CDI on Mental Component Summary (coefficient = −13.869, p = 0.007), GAD7 total score (coefficient = 2.072, p = 0.049) as well as PHQ9 total score (coefficient = 3.721, p = 0.001). Multivariate logistic regression verified CDI as a risk factor of developing depressive symptoms (OR = 6.160, p = 0.001). Conclusion: QoL of patients with craniopharyngioma was remarkably compromised before operation. CDI exerted detrimental influences on patients’ QoL and it might serve as a marker for early identification of patients at risk of depression.

With the development of artificial intelligence technology, the field of cultural communication is also gradually becoming widely used in artificial intelligence-related technologies. Aiming at the phenomenon of lagging development of national sports culture, this paper proposes a technical framework for optimizing the communication mode of national sports culture development with data collection and accurate information-pushing technology as the core. In order to collect data, the social network is transformed into a network graph model, and the Markov chain Monte Carlo method is used to ensure random and probabilistic sampling. The accuracy of prediction results is improved by establishing user profiles, using support vector machines, and combining the real-time computing framework to develop an accurate information delivery model. In the analysis of the development level of China’s wushu culture communication, it can be learned that the total reading volume of wushu culture-related topics on the microblogging platform totaled about 4.81 billion, the total discussion volume was 431,000, and the video playback volume of the related issues on the Jieyin platform reached 534 million times. The average value of the overall evaluation of the soft power of wushu culture is 3.83, which is close to the “good” evaluation level. Combined with intelligent technologies such as data collection and precise information pushing, the communication of Wushu culture has achieved better results.

BackgroundThe central nervous system (CNS) is the most common site of extramedullary invasion in acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), and involvement of the CNS is often associated with relapse, refractory disease, and poor prognosis. Chimeric antigen receptor-T (CAR-T) cell therapy, a promising modality in cancer immunotherapy, has demonstrated significant advantages in the treatment of hematological malignancies. However, due to associated adverse reactions such as nervous system toxicity, the safety and efficacy of CAR-T cell therapy in treating CNSL remains controversial, with limited reports available.Case reportHere, we present the case of a patient with confirmed B-ALL who experienced relapse in both bone marrow (BM) and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) despite multiple cycles of chemotherapy and intrathecal injections. The infusion of autologous CD19 CAR-T cells resulted in complete remission (CR) in both BM and CSF for 40 days. However, the patient later experienced a relapse in the bone marrow. Subsequently, allogeneic CD19 CAR-T cells derived from her brother were infused, leading to another achievement of CR in BM. Significantly, only grade 1 cytokine release syndrome (CRS) and immune effector cell-associated neurotoxicity syndrome (ICANS) events were detected during the treatment period and showed improvement with symptomatic management. During subsequent follow-up, the patient achieved a disease-free survival of 5 months and was successfully bridged to hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.ConclusionOur study provides support for the argument that CNS involvement should not be deemed an absolute contraindication to CAR-T cell therapy. With the implementation of suitable management and treatment strategies, CAR-T therapy can proficiently target tumor cells within the CNS. This treatment option may be particularly beneficial for relapsed or refractory patients, as well as those with central nervous system involvement who have shown limited response to conventional therapies. Additionally, CAR-T cell therapy may serve as a valuable bridge to allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT) in these patients.

The article first utilizes the hyperspectral image grayscale, texture information, and reflectance spectral information at characteristic wavelengths to establish the corresponding quantitative analysis models of nutrient content in maize plants using three modeling methods, MLR, PCR, and PLS. Then from the basis of polarized reflection features, it was inferred that the polarization degree features at sensitive wavelengths were extracted using polarized spectra and combined with chemometric techniques to achieve a quantitative analysis of the degree of nutrient stress in maize. Finally, the feature variables extracted on the hyperspectral and polarized-reflection spectral measurement systems were fused with multiple information. A diagnostic evaluation model of fertilizer utilization with polarization-hyperspectral multidimensional light information was established. The results showed that for the new slow-release fertilizers, SF1 and YNPK had higher nitrogen utilization rates, 9.91% and 7.43% higher than N1PK, respectively. And the nitrogen fertilizer utilization rate was correspondingly higher by 6%-7% in 2020 than in 2019 for each fertilizer application treatment.

Abstract Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is the most common liver disease characterized by lipid accumulation and endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress, while effective therapies targeting the specific characteristics of NAFLD are limited. Ufmylation is a newly found post-translational modification process that involves the attachment of the Ubiquitin-fold modifier 1 (UFM1) protein to its substrates via ufmylation modification system. Ufmylation regulates ER stress via modifying UFM1 binding protein 1 (UFBP1), suggesting a potential role for ufmylation in NAFLD pathogenesis. However, the precise role of ufmylation in NAFLD remains unclear. Herein, we aim to elucidate the impact of ufmylation on UFBP1 in NAFLD and explore the underlying mechanisms involved. We observed increased expression of UFM1-conjugated proteins and ufmylation modification system components in livers with steatosis derived from NAFLD patients and NAFLD models. Upregulation of ufmylation on hepatic proteins appeared to be an adaptive response to hepatic ER stress in NAFLD. In vitro, knocking down UFBP1 resulted in increased lipid accumulation and lipogenesis in hepatocytes treated with free fatty acids (FFA), which could be rescued by wild-type UFBP1 (WT UFBP1) but not by a mutant form of UFBP1 lacking the main ufmylation site lys267 (UFBP1 K267R). In vivo, ufmylation on UFBP1 ameliorated obesity, hepatic steatosis, hepatic lipogenesis, dyslipidemia, insulin resistance and liver damage in mice with NAFLD induced by a high fat diet (HFD). We also demonstrated that the downregulation of UFBP1 induced ER stress, whereas the reintroduction or overexpression of UFBP1 alleviated ER stress in a manner dependent on ufmylation in NAFLD. This mechanism could be responsible for the amelioration of aberrant hepatic lipogenesis and insulin resistance in NAFLD. Our data reveal a protective role of ufmylation on UFBP1 against NAFLD and offer a specific target for NAFLD treatment.

Objective: To study the effects of soil environment on the growth, yield, and quality of Sharen (Amomi Fructus) under different planting patterns. Methods: Soil physical and chemical indices and enzyme activities in four periods including early flowering (March), full flowering (June), fruit ripening (September), and late fruit picking (December), were measured under three planting patterns including natural forest, greenhouse, and rubber forest in Xishuangbanna, China. The changes in soil indices during the growth periods of Sharen (Amomi Fructus) under different planting patterns were analyzed, and the differences in plant growth, yield, and quality under different planting patterns were explored. Pearson correlation analysis was used to analyze the relationship between soil indices and Sharen (Amomi Fructus) growth, yield, and quality. Principal component analysis was used to investigate the effects of soil environment under different planting patterns on Sharen (Amomi Fructus) growth, yield, and quality. Results: The soil moisture, available potassium content, and urease activity of the three planting patterns of Sharen (Amomi Fructus) increased initially and decreased afterwards throughout the year; pH and organic matter content showed little change in the whole year. Exchangeable manganese content and acid phosphatase activity gradually increased throughout the year. Hydrolyzed nitrogen content, exchangeable calcium content, available zinc content, protease activity, and sucrase activity decreased initially and increased afterwards throughout the year. Exchangeable magnesium content, available iron content, and catalase activity decreased annually. Total nitrogen content, total phosphorus content, and available phosphorus content fluctuated throughout the year. The total potassium content under natural forest and greenhouse planting decreased throughout the year, while the total potassium content under rubber forest showed an upward trend all year round. The organic matter content, total nitrogen content, total potassium content, available potassium content, available zinc content, urease activity, acid phosphatase activity, and catalase activity under greenhouse were significantly lower than those under natural and rubber forests (P < 0.05). Correlation analysis showed that plant growth, yield, and quality of Sharen (Amomi Fructus) were significantly correlated with soil organic matter, total nitrogen, hydrolyzed nitrogen, total phosphorus, available phosphorus, total potassium, available potassium, exchangeable manganese, exchangeable magnesium, exchangeable calcium, available zinc, urease, acid phosphatase, and invertase (P < 0.05). The results of the principal component analysis indicated that the soil environment of Sharen (Amomi Fructus) under natural forest was the best, followed by rubber forest and greenhouse. The order of its advantages and disadvantages is consistent with the growth index of Sharen (Amomi Fructus), but contrary to the yield of Sharen (Amomi Fructus), indicating that the soil environment directly affects the growth index and nutritional components of plants. Conclusion: Different planting patterns of Sharen (Amomi Fructus) have different soil nutrient content, and the change rules in the growths period are not similar, with some differences. Soil indices have impacts on plant growth, yield, and quality of Sharen (Amomi Fructus). Soil ecological environment is positively correlated with the growth characteristics of Sharen (Amomi Fructus) plants, but has no direct correlation with yield and quality.

ObjectiveThis study aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of venetoclax in combination with hypomethylating agents and CAG (VEN-DCAG) regimens in patients with relapsed/refractory acute myeloid leukemia (R/R AML).MethodsThe treatment response was analyzed by retrospective methods in R/R AML patients treated with the VEN-DCAG regimen at our institution. This included, but was not limited to, CR/CRi (complete remission/complete remission with incomplete hematologic recovery) rate, measurable residual disease (MRD) negative rate, and overall survival (OS).Results20 patients with R/R AML were recruited, with a median age of 40 years (10-70), 11 of whom were male (55%), and a median follow-up of 10.4 months (0.7-21.8). The overall response rate (ORR) after receiving 1 course of VEN-DCAG was 90% (18/20), with 17 (85%) CR/CRi (10 MRD-CR), 1 (5%) PR, and 2 (10%) NR. Subsequently, 12 patients (7 MRD-CR, 4 MRD+CR, 1 NR) were treated with the VEN-DCAG regimen, and 3 MRD+CR patients turned negative, and 13 patients finally achieved MRD-CR. Among them, 7 patients were in the relapse group, all achieving CR/CRi (6 MRD-CR), and 13 patients in the refractory group, with 10 CR/CRi (7 MRD-CR). The ORR for patients in the relapse and refractory groups was 100% (7/7) and 84.6% (11/13), respectively. Further, all patients experienced adverse events (AEs) of varying degrees of severity, with hematologic AEs primarily consisting of myelosuppression, while non-hematologic AEs were more common in the form of fever, gastrointestinal distress, and infections. 11 patients were followed up with bridging allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT) therapy. At the last follow-up, 11 patients (7 MRD-CR, 4 MRD+CR) who received allo-HSCT, 1 (MRD+CR) died, and 9 patients (6 MRD-CR, 1 PR, 2 NR) who did not receive allo-HSCT, 5 (2 MRD-CR, 1 PR, 2 NR) died as well.ConclusionThe VEN-DCAG regimen may be an effective treatment option for R/R AML patients, with high ORR and MRD negative remission rates in both the relapsed and refractory groups. It is recommend that patients should be bridged to allo-HSCT as soon as possible after induction to CR by the VEN-DCAG regimen, which can lead to a significant long-term survival benefit.Clinical trial registrationhttps://www.chictr.org.cn/, identifier ChiCTR2300075985.

ObjectiveTo analyze the morbidity and mortality characteristics and prevalence trends of asopharyngeal carcinoma among registered residents in Yuyao City of Zhejiang Province from 2012 to 2021， and to provide suggestions for the prevention and treatment of the cancer.MethodsThe incidence and mortality data of asopharyngeal carcinoma in Yuyao City from 2012 to 2021 were collected. The incidence， mortality， standardized rate， cut-off rate， cumulative rate and annual percentage of trend change were calculated. A linear logarithmic model was used to analyze the variation trend.ResultsFrom 2012 to 2021， the crude incidence rate was 6.46/105 in Yuyao， while the Chinese standard rate was 4.78/105 and the world standard rate was 3.68/105， which all increased over the years. Objective To compare and analyze the recommendations for the timing and frequency of home blood pressure monitoring (HBPM) in clinical practice guidelines to help clinicians select the best recommendations and provide suggestions for the development of recommendations in the future. Methods Clinical practice guidelines related to hypertension published in the last five years were systematically searched and screened, and the recommendations for the timing and frequency of HBPM were extracted for statistical analysis. Results A total of 21 guidelines developed by institutions in 16 countries or regions were included, containing recommendations related to the timing and/or frequency of HBPM. For the HBPM timing, all guidelines recommend that blood pressure measurements be taken twice a day, in the morning and evening. In the morning blood pressure should be measured before taking antihypertensive medication (94.4%, 17/18), before breakfast (72.2%, 13/18) and after urination (55.6%, 10/18), while in the evening it should be taken before dinner (50.0%, 8/16), before bedtime (37.5%, 6/16) or 2 hours after dinner (6.3%, 1/16).For HBPM frequency, 9 (40.9%, 9/22) guidelines recommend at least 3 consecutive days of measurement in the week before the visit, and others suggest that measurements should be taken consecutively for at least 4 d (18.2%, 4/22), 5 d (13.6%, 3/22) or 7 d (27.3%, 6/22) days. Conclusions The guidelines of different countries and regions have great differences in recommendations on the timing and frequency of HBPM. It is recommended that future guideline developers develop the best recommendations after a thorough search, evaluation, and synthesis of the evidence, with full consideration of the balance of pros and cons, feasibility, patient preferences and values, as well as the context in which the guidelines are implemented.

Objective To investigate the effect of a novel transcription factor, Musculin, on the biological functions of bone marrow-derived dendritic cells (BMDC) in mice. Methods Bone marrow cells from wildtype (WT) and Musculin knockout (KO, -/-) mice were obtained and cultured with granulocyte-macrophage colony stimulating factor (GM-CSF) and IL-4 so as to induce BMDC in vitro. After 7 d, the BMDC were added with lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and continued to culture for 24 h. Besides the cellular morphological changes were observed dynamically, BMDC and the supernatants were collected from the WT and Musculin-/-cells. Flow cytometry was used to analyze the proportion of positive cells of CD11c, CD40, CD80, CD86, PD-L1 and IAIE in each group. CCK-8 assay was adopted to detect the cellular proliferation for stimulating heterologous lymphocytes and the different stimulation indexes (SI) were calculated respectively. ELISA was applied to detect the supernatant contents of IL-1β, IL-6, IL-10, IL-12 (P40), IL-12 (P70) and TNF-α in each group. Results The BMDC from the Musculin-/-group had similar morphology and no significant difference in purity, decreased percentages of co-stimulatory molecules such as CD40, CD80 and CD86 (P < 0.05), and reduced percentages of co-inhibitory molecules PD-L1 and major histocompatibility complex class Ⅱ (MHC-Ⅱ) IAIE though no significant differences when compared with those of WT group. Moreover, the number of heterologous lymphocytes and related SI after of mixed lymphocyte reaction (MLR) were obvious higher in the Musculin-/-group than the WT group, especially after 5 days' stimulation (P < 0.05). In addition, the supernatant levels of proinflammatory factors including IL-1β, IL-6, IL-12 (P40), IL-12 (P70) and TNF-α were significantly increased in the Musculin-/-group than the WT group (P < 0.05), but no such changes were observed in anti-inflammatory factor IL-10 level between the 2 groups. Conclusion Musculin may enhance the immune function mediated by BMDC and suppress inflammatory reaction, suggesting that it can regulate the biological functions on BMDC.

Emissions from transportation fuel vehicles are polluting the environment more than ever before. Currently, autonomous delivery vehicles (ADVs) are welcomed by logistics service providers and lots of consumers in general for their significant contribution in reducing environmental pollution and increasing delivery efficiency. However, there is a lack of in-depth research on consumers' willingness to adopt ADVs, despite the fact that ADVs are innovative delivery method in the field of last-mile delivery. The purpose of the study is to expand the existing knowledge of consumers' adoption behaviors by developing and testing the extended Value-Belief-Norm (VBN) theory in autonomous delivery literature. In particular, the study adds subjective norms and COVID-19 risk into the original VBN model as a theoretical framework to gain a comprehensive understanding of the consumer decision-making processes with respect to their intentions to use ADVs. Structural equation modeling is conducted using data from a web-based survey of 561 consumers through an online sample platform. The results of the study demonstrated that both subjective norms and COVID-19 risk are all related with consumers’ intention to use ADVs. The casual chain hypotheses of the extend VBN theory mentioned in our study are all supported. The results of the study make significant theoretical and managerial contributions to the field of last-mile delivery and the adoption behaviors of emerging technologies.

BackgroundNeurodegenerative diseases (NDDs) are prevalent among older adults worldwide. Early diagnosis of NDD is challenging yet crucial. Gait status has been identified as an indicator of early-stage NDD changes and can play a significant role in diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation. Historically, gait assessment has relied on intricate but imprecise scales by trained professionals or required patients to wear additional equipment, causing discomfort. Advancements in artificial intelligence may completely transform this and offer a novel approach to gait evaluation. ObjectiveThis study aimed to use cutting-edge machine learning techniques to offer patients a noninvasive, entirely contactless gait assessment and provide health care professionals with precise gait assessment results covering all common gait-related parameters to assist in diagnosis and rehabilitation planning. MethodsData collection involved motion data from 41 different participants aged 25 to 85 (mean 57.51, SD 12.93) years captured in motion sequences using the Azure Kinect (Microsoft Corp; a 3D camera with a 30-Hz sampling frequency). Support vector machine (SVM) and bidirectional long short-term memory (Bi-LSTM) classifiers trained using spatiotemporal features extracted from raw data were used to identify gait types in each walking frame. Gait semantics could then be obtained from the frame labels, and all the gait parameters could be calculated accordingly. For optimal generalization performance of the model, the classifiers were trained using a 10-fold cross-validation strategy. The proposed algorithm was also compared with the previous best heuristic method. Qualitative and quantitative feedback from medical staff and patients in actual medical scenarios was extensively collected for usability analysis. ResultsThe evaluations comprised 3 aspects. Regarding the classification results from the 2 classifiers, Bi-LSTM achieved an average precision, recall, and F1-score of 90.54%, 90.41%, and 90.38%, respectively, whereas these metrics were 86.99%, 86.62%, and 86.67%, respectively, for SVM. Moreover, the Bi-LSTM–based method attained 93.2% accuracy in gait segmentation evaluation (tolerance set to 2), whereas that of the SVM-based method achieved only 77.5% accuracy. For the final gait parameter calculation result, the average error rate of the heuristic method, SVM, and Bi-LSTM was 20.91% (SD 24.69%), 5.85% (SD 5.45%), and 3.17% (SD 2.75%), respectively. ConclusionsThis study demonstrated that the Bi-LSTM–based approach can effectively support accurate gait parameter assessment, assisting medical professionals in making early diagnoses and reasonable rehabilitation plans for patients with NDD.

IntroductionIn recent years, the potential toxicities of different pharmaceuticals toward the thyroid system have received increasing attention. In this study, we aim to evaluate the toxic effects of pazopanib and axitinib, two anti-tumor drugs with widespread clinical use, on thyroid function in the zebrafish model.MethodsWe measured levels of thyroid-related hormones using the commercial Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) kit. Whole-mount in situ hybridization (WISH) analysis was employed to detect target gene expression changes. Morphology of the thyroid were evaluated by using transgenic Tg (tg: EGFP) fish line under a confocal microscope. The relative mRNA expression of key genes was verified through quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT‒qPCR). The size and number of the follicles was quantified whereby Hematoxylin–Eosin (H & E) staining under a light microscope.ResultsThe results revealed that fertilized zebrafish embryos were incubated in pazopanib or axitinib for 96 hours, development and survival were significantly affected, which was accompanied by significant disturbances in thyroid endocrine system (e.g., increased thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) content and decreased triiodothyronine (T3) and thyroxine (T4) content, as well as transcription changes of genes associated with the hypothalamus-pituitary-thyroid (HPT) axis. Moreover, based on whole-mount in situ hybridization staining of tg and histopathological examination of zebrafish embryos treated with pazopanib and axitinib, we observed a significantly abnormal development of thyroid follicles in the Tg (tg: EGFP) zebrafish transgenic line.ConclusionCollectively, these findings indicate that pazopanib and axitinib may have toxic effects on thyroid development and function, at least partially, by influencing the regulation of the HPT axis. Thus, we believe that the potential thyroid toxicities of pazopanib and axitinib in their clinical applications should receive greater attention.

PurposeThe incidence of seroma and postoperative pain after Gilbert type III inguinal hernia repair is high. To reduce postoperative complications, this study investigated the clinical efficacy of laparoscopic closed hernia ring combined with a patch repair for Gilbert type III indirect inguinal hernia.MethodsThrough a prospective randomized controlled study, a total of 193 patients with Gilbert type III indirect inguinal hernia admitted to Nanchong Central Hospital affiliated with Chuanbei Medical College from May 2020 to December 2021 were selected and randomly divided into the inner ring closed group (85 patients) and the inner ring non-closed group (95 patients). The patients in both groups underwent laparoscopic tension-free repair of their inguinal hernias. General information such as operative time, postoperative hospital stay, and hospital cost were compared between the two groups, and the patients were followed up at 1, 7, 14, 21, and 28 days and then 3, 6, and 12 months after surgery to compare complications such as incidence of seroma, volume of the seroma fluid, incidence of pain, and visual analogue scale (VAS) pain score.ResultsThere was no conversion to open procedures in any of the patients. The operation time of the closed group was significantly longer than that of the non-closed group (64.2 ± 12.2 vs. 55.3 ± 9.5 min, P 0.05). The postoperative follow-up period was 3–20 months, and no chronic pain or recurrence occurred during the postoperative follow-up period in either group.ConclusionsClosure of the hernia ring is safe and effective for laparoscopic hernia repair for Gilbert type III inguinal hernia, and it significantly reduces the incidence of postoperative seroma and further reduces the postoperative pain without increasing the risk of postoperative infection and recurrence.

With the existing pressure sensors, it is difficult to achieve the unification of wide pressure response range and high sensitivity. Furthermore, the preparation of pressure sensors with excellent performance for sleep health monitoring has become a research difficulty. In this paper, based on material and microstructure synergistic enhancement mechanism, a hybrid pressure sensor (HPS) integrating triboelectric pressure sensor (TPS) and piezoelectric pressure sensor (PPS) is proposed. For the TPS, a simple, low-cost, and structurally controllable microstructure preparation method is proposed in order to investigate the effect of carbon nano-onions (CNOs) and hierarchical composite microstructures on the electrical properties of CNOs@Ecoflex. The PPS is used to broaden the pressure response range and reduce the pressure detection limit of HPS. It has been experimentally demonstrated that the HPS has a high sensitivity of 2.46 V/104 Pa (50–600 kPa) and a wide response range of up to 1200 kPa. Moreover, the HPS has a low detection limit (10 kPa), a high stability (over 100,000 cycles), and a fast response time. The sleep monitoring system constructed based on HPS shows remarkable performance in breathing state recognition and sleeping posture supervisory control, which will exhibit enormous potential in areas such as sleep health monitoring and potential disease prediction.

The photocatalytic degradation, as an environmental-friendly technology, has great significance for cost-effective and efficient catalysis processes, wherein piezo-photocatalysis can significantly increase the catalytic degradation rate using both solar and mechanical energy. Here, a ternary heterostructure PVDF/ZnO/Au (PZA) nanobrush photocatalyst with high piezo-photocatalytic efficiency was presented via low-temperature hydrothermal and chemical reduction methods. Under both solar and mechanical energy, the current response and degradation rate of the as-synthesized PZA nanobrush all increase significantly compared with that under solar alone and under mechanical energy alone, and the excellent recyclability is investigated. It is found that the PZA nanobrush with ultrasonic-assisted piezo-photocatalysis completely degrade MO of 20 mg/L in 60 min, which exhibits greater enhancement of photocatalytic activity than with stirring-assisted piezo-photocatalysis due to higher power. The high piezo-photocatalytic activity of PZA nanobrush is attributed to the surface plasmon resonance (SPR) coupling of Au and built-in electric field originating from the ZnO and PVDF, which can increase the absorption of visible light, promote the charge transfer and separation of photogenerated electrons/holes. This work introduces the SPR and bipiezotronic effect to improve plasmonic photocatalysis with PZA heterostructures, which offers a new solution in green technologies to design high-performance catalysts for the environmental remediation.

Abstract Perovskite silicon tandem solar cells are one of the effective ways to further improve the photoelectric conversion efficiency (PCE) in the research and development of solar cells in the future. CsPbIBr2 can be used as the top cell material in tandem solar cells due to its wider bandgap and better long‐term stability. However, the serious defect density and carrier recombination limit its further improvement. In this work, Octylammonium Octyldithiocarbamate (ODTC) is added to the CsPbIBr2 precursor. Through its strong metal ion complexing ability, it combines with the uncoordinated Pb2+ in the CsPbIBr2, and then thermally decomposes to produce PbS during the annealing process. As an additive, ODTC modulates the crystallization of CsPbIBr2, increases the crystal size, reduces defect density, extends carrier lifetime, and improves charge transfer. Moreover, in situ‐generated PbS can also optimize photovoltaic performance of CsPbIBr2 perovskite solar cell (PSC). Consequently, the champion PCE of the devices can attain to 10.15% and still maintain an initial efficiency of 90% after 45 days. Therefore, the strategy is an effective way to prepare efficient and stable CsPbIBr2 PSCs.

ObjectiveUAV-based multispectral detection and identification technology for ground injured human targets, is a novel and promising unmanned technology for public health and safety IoT applications, such as outdoor lost injured searching and battlefield casualty searching, and our previous research has demonstrated its feasibility. However, in practical applications, the searched human target always exhibits low target-background contrast relative to the vast and diverse surrounding environment, and the ground environment also shifts randomly during the UAV cruise process. These two key factors make it difficult to achieve highly robust, stable, and accurate recognition performance under the cross-scene situation.MethodsThis paper proposes a cross-scene multi-domain feature joint optimization (CMFJO) for cross-scene outdoor static human target recognition.ResultsIn the experiments, we first investigated the impact severity of the cross-scene problem and the necessity to solve it by designing 3 typical single-scene experiments. Experimental results show that although a single-scene model holds good recognition capability for its scenes (96.35% in desert scenes, 99.81% in woodland scenes, and 97.39% in urban scenes), its recognition performance for other scenes deteriorates sharply (below 75% overall) after scene changes. On the other hand, the proposed CMFJO method was also validated using the same cross-scene feature dataset. The recognition results for both individual scene and composite scene show that this method could achieve an average classification accuracy of 92.55% under cross-scene situation.DiscussionThis study first tried to construct an excellent cross-scene recognition model for the human target recognition, named CMFJO method, which is based on multispectral multi-domain feature vectors with scenario-independent, stable and efficient target recognition capability. It will significantly improve the accuracy and usability of UAV-based multispectral technology method for outdoor injured human target search in practical applications and provide a powerful supporting technology for public safety and health.

Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are widely applied in the treatment of inflammation, fever and for pain relief based on its efficacy in anti-inflammatory, anti-rheumatic, analgesic, antipyretic, and anticoagulation. Moreover, the relationship between NSAIDs and immune cells is quite important since. NSAIDs can negatively regulate B cell proliferation via inhibiting prostaglandin (PG), improve the imbalance of Th1/Th2 and immunologic derangement caused by Th17 differentiation, inhibit release of TNF-α by macrophages and decrease the level of tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α, influence inflammation via controlling other inflammatory cytokines. In addition, the mechanism may be concerned with several signal pathways including PGE2 receptor 2 (PGE2-EP2), 5-hydroxytryptamine(5-HT), glucagon-like peptide-2 (GLP-2) and nuclear factor kappa-B-interleukin-6- signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (NF-κB-IL-6-STAT3). Thus, it is necessary to further investigate the regulation and mechanism of NSAIDs on various immunocytes, potentially provide a new strategy to optimize immune funtions under trauma and disease.

Abstract Reactive oxygen species (ROS) are byproducts of tumor cells treated with Nano-Pulse Stimulation (NPS). Recently, ROS have been suggested as a contributing factor in immunogenic cell death and T cell-mediated immunity. This research further investigated the role of NPS induced ROS in antitumor immunity. ROS production in 4T1-luc breast cancer cells was characterized using three detection reagents, namely, Amplex Red, MitoSox Red, and Dihydroethidium. The efficiency of ROS quenching was evaluated in the presence or absence of ROS scavengers and/or antioxidants. The immunogenicity of NPS treated tumor cells was assessed by ex vivo dendritic cell activation, in vivo vaccination assay and in situ vaccination with NPS tumor ablation. We found that NPS treatment enhanced the immunogenicity of 4T1-luc mouse mammary tumor, resulted in a potent in situ vaccination protection and induced long-term T cell immunity. ROS production derived from NPS treated breast cancer cells was an electric pulse dose-dependent phenomenon. Noticeably, the dynamic pattern of hydrogen peroxide production was different from that of superoxide production. Interestingly, regardless of NPS treatment, different ROS scavengers could either block or promote ROS production and stimulate or inhibit tumor cell growth. The activation of dendritic cells was not influenced by blocking ROS generation. The results from in vivo vaccination with NPS treated cancer cells suggests that ROS generation was not a prerequisite for immune protection.

Regulation of hot spots exhibits excellent potential in many applications including nanolasers, energy harvesting, sensing, and subwavelength imaging. Here, hat-shaped hierarchical nanostructures with different space curvatures have been proposed to enhance hot spots for facilitating surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) and plasmon-driven catalysis applications. These novel nanostructures comprise two layers of metal nanoparticles separated by hat-shaped MoS2 films. The fabrication of this hybrid structure is based on the thermal annealing and thermal evaporation of self-assembled polystyrene spheres, which are convenient to control the metal particle size and the curvature of hat-shaped nanostructures. Based on the narrow gaps produced by the MoS2 films and the curvature of space, the constructed platform exhibits superior SERS capability and achieves ultrasensitive detection for toxic molecules. Furthermore, the surface catalytic conversion of p-nitrothiophenol (PNTP) to p, p′-dimercaptobenzene (DMAB) was in situ monitored by the SERS substrate. Case presentationWe report the case of a girl aged 2 years and 10 months who had fever for 2 days, vomiting, poor mental status for 1 day, and one episode of convulsions.Symptoms and signsThe patient experienced a rapid onset of symptoms with fever, vomiting, and convulsions. Upon physical examination on admission, she presented with the following: temperature 38.6°C; pulse 185 beats/min; respiration 49 beats/min; blood pressure 89/51 mmHg; drowsiness; piebald skin all over her body; rice-grain-sized pustular rashes scattered on the front chest and both lower limbs, protruding from the surface of the skin; bilateral pupils that were equal in size and a circle with a diameter of about 3.0 mm, and slow light reflex; cyanotic lips; shortness of breath; positive for the three-concave sign; a small amount of phlegm that could be heard in both lungs; capillary refill time of 5 s; cold extremities; and a positive Babinski sign.Diagnostic methodA chest computed tomography scan showed multiple nodular and flake-like high-density shadows of varying sizes in each lobe in bilateral lungs, and a cavity with blurred edges could be seen in some nodules. A cranial magnetic resonance imaging examination demonstrated that the hyperintensity of diffusion-weighted imaging could be observed on the left cerebellar hemisphere and left parietal blade. Blood cultures, sputum, cerebrospinal fluid, and bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) by fiberoptic bronchoscopy all indicated the growth of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).Treatment methodsAfter admission, the child was given meropenem combined with vancomycin, cefoperazone sulbactam combined with rifamycin, linezolid (oral) for anti-infection successively, and other adjuvant therapies.Clinical outcomesThe patient recovered clinically and was discharged from our hospital.Recommended readersNeurology; Respiratory Medicine; Infectious Diseases Department.

Background: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a malignant tumor with a highly aggressive and metastatic nature. Ultrasound remains a routine monitoring tool for screening, treatment and post-treatment recheck of HCC. Therefore, it is of great significance to explore the role of ultrasound therapy and related genes in prognosis prediction and clinical diagnosis and treatment of HCC.Methods: Gene co-expression networks were developed utilizing the R package WGCNA as per the expression profiles and clinical features of TCGA HCC samples, key modules were identified by the correlation coefficients between clinical features and modules, and hub genes of modules were determined as per the GS and MM values. Ultrasound treatment differential expression genes were identified using R package limma, and univariate Cox analysis was conducted on the intersection genes of ultrasound differential expression genes and hub genes of key HCC modules to screen the signatures linked with HCC prognosis and construct a risk model. The median risk score was used as the threshold point to classify tumor samples into high- and low-risk groups, and the R package IOBR was used to assess the proportion of immune cells in high- and low-risk groups, R package maftools to assess the genomic mutation differences in high- and low-risk groups, R package GSVA’s ssgsea algorithm to assess the HALLMARK pathway enrichment analysis, and R package pRRophetic to analyze drug sensitivity in patients with HCC.Results: WGCNA analysis based on the expression profiles and clinical data of the TCGA LIHC cohort identified three key modules with two major clinical features associated with HCC. The intersection of ultrasound-related differential genes and module hub genes was selected for univariate Cox analysis to identify prognostic factors significantly associated with HCC, and a risk score model consisting of six signatures was finally developed to analyze the prognosis of individuals with HCC. The risk model showed strength in the training set, overall set, and external validation set. The percentage of immune cell infiltration, genomic mutations, pathway enrichment scores, and chemotherapy drug resistance were significantly different between high- and low-risk groups according to the risk scores. Expression of model genes correlated with tumor immune microenvironment and clinical tumor characteristics while generally differentially expressed in pan-cancer tumor and healthy samples. In the immunotherapy dataset, patients in the high-risk group had a worse prognosis with immunotherapy, indicating that subjects in the low-risk group are more responsive to immunotherapy.Conclusion: The 6-gene signature constructed by ultrasound treatment of HCC combined with WGCNA analysis can be used for prognosis prediction of HCC patients and may become a marker for immune response.

Recently, multiscale three-dimensional (3D) structures consisting of micrometer-scale structure and nanometer-scale structure have received some attention from scientists in the field of surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS). In this work, micrometer-scale grating structure and nanometer-scale zinc oxide nano spikes (ZnO NSs) structure are successfully introduced into the SERS substrate with silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) as the surface plasmon. The optimized particle-in-multiscale 3D substrate (PDMS/grating/ZnO NSs/Ag NPs) presents high sensitivity with an ultralow limit of detection of 1 × 10−11 M and a high enhancement factor of 7.0 × 108 for Rhodamine 6G (R6G) as the probe molecule. It benefits from the electromagnetic field enhancement from the excellent optical capture capability of grating/ZnO NSs structure and abundant electromagnetic hot spots. The quantitative analysis ability of the SERS substrate can be indicated from the good linear correlation between the logarithmic Raman intensity and the molecular concentration. At the same time, this SERS substrate exhibits excellent homogeneity and reproducibility, which have low relative standard deviations (4.43%) of the Raman intensities at 613 cm−1 peaks for R6G as the probe molecule. In addition, this SERS substrate can realize in-situ detection of Raman signal due to its excellent light transmission and flexibility. The particle-in-multiscale 3D structure as SERS substrate exhibits the vast potential in practical applicability for qualitatively and quantitatively chemical and biomedical analysis.

Abstract The aim of the present study was to explore the relationship between androgen and LVH in postmenopausal hypertensive women. Enrolled in this study were 378 postmenopausal hypertensive women who were admitted to the department of cardiology between December 2018 and December 2020. According to left ventricular mass index (LVMI) evaluated by echocardiography, the patients were divided into LVH group (n = 172) and non‐LVH group (n = 206). Their clinical characteristics were collected. Based on the result of propensity score matching analysis, 160 cases in each group were matched successfully. After correcting for confounding factors by various models, the results showed that free androgen index (FAI) and sex hormone–binding globulin (SHBG) were the influencing factors of LVH in postmenopausal women with hypertension. Patients with elevated SHBG were 5% less likely to develop LVH than those without elevated SHBG (OR: 0.950, 95% CI 0.922‐1.578). Postmenopausal hypertensive patients with elevated FAI were 16% more likely to have LVH than those without elevated FAI (OR: 1.608, 95% CI 0.807‐3.202). Multiple linear regression showed that LVMI increased by 61.82g/m2 for every 1 unit increase in FAI. In addition, SHBG decreased by 1 nmol/l, and LVMI increased by 0.177g/m2. Subgroup analysis showed that patients in the controlled BP group had a lower risk of LVH for every additional unit of SHBG compared with the uncontrolled BP group. The risk of LVH for each additional unit of FAI in the uncontrolled BP group was higher than that in the controlled BP group. The results of this present study showed that the occurrence of LVH was positively correlated with FAI and negatively correlated with SHBG in postmenopausal women with hypertension. The increase in FAI level and the decrease in SHBG level may be related to the occurrence and development of LVH in postmenopausal hypertension.

Wettability modification is an effective way in tailoring hotspots in surface Raman scattering (SERS) nowadays. However, due to the theoretical contradiction between hydrophobic and hydrophilic strategies, opposite views are usually put forward in building SERS structures. To realize the integration of hydrophobicity and hydrophilia in the same substrate, a wettability-switchable SERS architecture composed of heterostructured CuO@ZnO@Ag biomimetic nano Setaria (NS) has been designed and prepared in this paper. Experimentally, the structure shows impressive SERS performance under both hydrophobic and hydrophilic states. The limit of detection approaches even to single-molecule level and the lowest relative standard deviation is only ca 9.8%. Finite-different time-domain simulations and experimental analyses were systemically made to unearth the mechanism deep behind. Besides, owing to fine quantifiability, the CuO@ZnO@Ag NS shows promising potential in the detection of trace pesticide and deoxyribonucleic acid. This work provides a new idea for integrating the strategies of ‘concentration’ and ‘decentralization’, endowing SERS structure with wider application, and is also meaningful for other surface sciences.
