Previous research have linked various screening approaches to diabetes, but additional evidence points to the relevance of combining diabetes screening methods with obesity and its effects. This research examined the impact of thyroid hormones (TSHs) and health risk factors (HRFs) in screening for obesity and diabetes in Chinese populations, and whether age can modulate this association.Methods: From March to July 2022, the Hefei Community Health Service Center connected with the First Affiliated Hospital of Anhui Medical University was chosen, and the multi-stage cluster sample approach was utilized to test adults aged 21â 90 in each community. Latent category analysis (LCA) was performed to investigate the clustering patterns of HRFs. A one-way ANOVA was used to examine waist circumference (WC), biochemical markers, and general data. Furthermore, multivariate logistic regression analysis was utilized to investigate the relationship between health risk variables and WC.Results: A total of 750 individuals without a history of major problems who had a community health physical examination were chosen, with missing data greater than 5% excluded. Finally, 708 samples were included in the study with an effective rate of 94.4%. The average WC was (90.0± 10.33) cm, the prevalence in the >P75, P50~P75, P25~P50, and â¤P25 groups were 24.7%, 18.9%, 28.7% and 27.7%, respectively. The average TSH was (2.76± 2.0) μIU/mL. Male (β=1.91), HOMA-IR (β=0.06), TyG (β=2.41), SBP (β=0.08), TG (β=0.94) and UA (β=0.03) were more likely to have a higher prevalence of WC level. The analyses revealed significant correlations between HRFs, TSH, age, other metabolic indexes and WC (P < 0.05).Discussion: Our findings suggest that the quality of metabolic-related indicators used to successfully decrease diabetes in Chinese individuals with high HRFs levels should be prioritized. - Abstract
To improve the tracking accuracy and antidisturbance performance of permanent magnet linear synchronous motor (PMLSM), in this article, a fast recursive terminal sliding-mode control (FRTSMC) with mover velocity and disturbance observer (MVDO) is proposed. The FRTSMC is designed by a recursive structure of fast terminal sliding mode and integral sliding mode. The FRTSMC is initialized with an appropriate value to reduce the sliding-mode approach time and guarantee that the tracking error converges to zero in a finite time. To further improve the antidisturbance property and suppress the chattering phenomenon, an MVDO is integrated into the FRTSMC to simultaneously estimate the mover velocity and the lumped disturbance. Lyapunov theory is employed to analyze the closed-loop stability of the composited controller. The experimental results verify the effectiveness of the proposed method in reducing convergence error and enhancing robustness compared with the conventional fast nonsingular TSMC, adaptive recursive TSMC, and nonlinear disturbance observer based FRTSMC for PMLSM.

22. Optimal Design of PMSLM Based on Extremum Robust Domain Characteristic

- Abstract
Deterministic optimization of permanent magnet synchronous linear motor (PMSLM) results in poor robustness of motor thrust performance because it usually ignores manufacturing tolerances, assembly errors, and other uncertainties. Therefore, an optimization method based on extremum robust domain characteristic (ERDC) is proposed to achieve robust optimization of PMSLM. First, the equivalent magnetization intensity method based on PMSLM topology is applied to establish the thrust ripple analysis model. Second, a combination of Tent chaotic sequences and opposition-based learning initialization strategy is used in the conventional niche particle swarm optimization (NPSO) to increase population diversity. A difference sequence method is applied to merge same-peaked niches, which overcomes NPSO's dependence on parameter settings, improves search efficiency and ensures full extremums under constraint. Third, the characteristics of the extremum robust domain (ERD) are analyzed. The robustness extremum evaluation index combined the size of ERD with measures of dispersion of the thrust ripple is put forward to evaluate the local peak and determine the optimal robustness extremum. Finally, the optimization results show the superiority of the method by comparing the proposed ERDC method with the deterministic optimization method based on particle swarm optimization algorithm. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified using simulations and experiments.

A feedback linearization direct torque control (FL-DTC) scheme with the ability of regulating zero-sequence current is proposed for the dc-biased vernier reluctance machines (DC-VRMs) to improve the steady and dynamic performance of drive system. First, an accurate original nonlinear model of DC-VRM is analyzed in synchronous rotating reference frame with three variables (i.e., the electromagnetic torque, the stator flux, and zero-sequence current). The saturation of self-inductance is considered to ensure the accuracy of model under different load. The virtual 0-axis flux ψ
0 is first defined in this article. Then, an FL-DTC scheme with zero-sequence current regulation is proposed to improve torque and flux ripple and dynamic response performance. The system stability is verified by the Lyapunov theory. Finally, comparative experiments to conventional PI-based SVM-DTC scheme in steady state and dynamic process are carried out. The advantages of the proposed method are verified, including high control accuracy of torque and flux, fast dynamic response to load change and speed reversal, outstanding low-speed range performance, and strong robustness to parameter uncertainties.- Published

31. Thrust Bandwidth Modeling and Optimization of PMSLM Based on Analytic Kernel-Embedded Elastic-Net Regression

To improve the bandwidth and thrust performance of permanent magnet synchronous linear motor (PMSLM), from the perspective of motor structure design, this article proposes a high-accuracy and fast-calculation inductance model of centralized winding based on analytic kernel-embedded elastic-net regression (AKER) to establish a comprehensive analytical model of PMSLM performance. A stochastic fractal search (SFS) algorithm is introduced to optimize the comprehensive performances of PMSLM. First, Neumann's formula of integral is used to establish the equivalent inductance analytical model (EIAM) for the three-phase winding of PMSLM, and the analytic kernel is constructed based on the EIAM. In combination with the finite element simulation samples of inductance, the analytical kernel is embedded into the elastic-net regression to establish the inductance model of high efficiency, namely AKER, and compared with the finite element mode (FEM), EIAM and other advanced methods, the superiority of AKER is verified from the accuracy and time cost. Then, based on the proposed AKER inductance model, the current and voltage equations of PMSLM are decoupled in the two-phase rotating coordinate system to establish the comprehensive analysis model of the PMSLM performance. Based on the comprehensive model, the optimization function of PMSLM is constructed, and the SFS algorithm is introduced to solve the function iteratively. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed modeling and optimization method is verified by FEM-based control simulation and prototype experiment, respectively.

Glioblastoma (GBM) is the most aggressive type of cancer. Its current first‐line postsurgery regimens are radiotherapy and temozolomide (TMZ) chemotherapy, both of which are DNA damage‐inducing therapies but show very limited efficacy and a high risk of resistance. There is an urgent need to develop novel agents to sensitize GBM to DNA‐damaging treatments. Here it is found that the triterpene compound stellettin B (STELB) greatly enhances the sensitivity of GBM to ionizing radiation and TMZ in vitro and in vivo. Mechanistically, STELB inhibits the expression of homologous recombination repair (HR) factors BRCA1/2 and RAD51 by promoting the degradation of PI3Kα through the ubiquitin‐proteasome pathway; and the induced HR deficiency then leads to augmented DNA damage and cell death. It is further demonstrated that STELB has the potential to rapidly penetrate the blood‐brain barrier to exert anti‐GBM effects in the brain, based on zebrafish and nude mouse orthotopic xenograft tumor models. The study provides strong evidence that STELB represents a promising drug candidate to improve GBM therapy in combination with DNA‐damaging treatments. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

40. Comparison of two pathological processing methods for large endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) specimens

- Abstract
AimsAccurate histopathological evaluation of the endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) specimens is essential for clinicians to guide further triage and management. This study aimed to report a novel processing technique for large ESD (≥4 cm) specimens.Methods92 patients with colorectal neoplasms who had undergone ESD were included. 46 ESD specimens were treated with conventional handling process, while the rest 46 cases were given the optimised method. Macrobiocassettes and L-shaped embedding moulds were applied in the optimised method. We evaluated the efficacy of this improved procedure in terms of the number of paraffin blocks, storage space and time consumption of pathological assessment.ResultsThe average diameter of ESD specimens was 4.5±0.4 cm and 4.7±0.5 cm in the control and test group (p=0.023), respectively. In control group, 398 paraffin blocks of 46 cases were obtained. With the same cases number and larger lesion size, only 276 blocks were achieved in test group (p<0.001). As for the storage space, the total volume of paraffin blocks and slides (4554.0 cm3and 1207.5 cm3) of optimised method was significantly reduced compared with the control group (6208.8 cm3and 1741.3 cm3) (p=0.001, p<0.001). In addition, the optimised method was superior to the conventional one in shortening time consumption of pathological assessment (164.5 min and 269.0 min, p<0.001).ConclusionsThe optimised technique not only reduced the workload and storage space, but also facilitated accurate pathological assessment.

Overactivation of PI3K signaling has been identified in prostate cancer. ZSTK is an effective pan-PI3K inhibitor, but it was withdrawn from early-phase clinical trials because of its poor solubility, on-target/off-tumor toxicity, and recruitment and polarization of tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs). Indomethacin (IND) reduces the polarization of TAMs, increases the proinflammatory macrophage (M1 phenotype) ratio in the tumor microenvironment, and enhances the immune response in tumor cells. Herein, we developed ZSTK carrier-free nanoparticle (ZNP)-loaded biomimetic hybrid indomethacin liposomes (I@Lip) with PC3 cell membranes (termed ZNPs/I@CML). ZNPs/I@CML displayed amplified synergistic therapeutic effects on zebrafish and nude mouse PC3 xenograft models. Their homologous targeting ability can deliver ZSTK to tumor tissue and elicit effective antiproliferative effects on PC3 cancer cells. Meanwhile, the released IND improved the immunosuppressive microenvironment, inducing immunological activation against cancer cells. Additionally, ZNPs/I@CML did not cause liver toxicity compared with other treatment groups, as shown by histological analysis, suggesting their improved safety. Our data demonstrate that biomimetic hybrid liposome-coated carrier-free nanoparticles are a promising nanoplatform for amplifying the antitumor efficacy of kinase-inhibiting therapeutics with immunotherapy, but more preclinical and clinical evidence is required.

This article proposes an accurate harmonic current suppression strategy for direct current (dc)-biased VRMs based on adaptive notch filter (ANF) to reduce torque ripple and power loss. A new harmonic reference frame is proposed in dq-axis and combined with ANF, thus harmonic currents are accurately extracted and analyzed. Furthermore, a phase-shift strategy is proposed for dc-biased VRMs, realizing precise compensation of harmonic voltages. The proposed ANF-based harmonic currents suppression strategy has a better performance in harmonic suppression and dynamic response and is suitable for a wider speed range in comparison with traditional harmonic suppression control strategy. What is more, the parameter design of the proposed method is easier compared with traditional method. Finally, the conclusions are verified by experimental results. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This article proposes a dual-inverter pulsewidth modulation (PWM) scheme for dc-biased vernier reluctance machines (dc-biased-VRMs) with reduced switching frequency capable of zero-sequence current regulation. The dc-biased-VRM utilizes the additional dc bias current in armature winding to construct the rotor flux. To regulate the dc bias current, two sets of three-phase inverters with common dc bus are used to provide dc current flow path. In each switching cycle, the number of switching actions is doubled compared with the conventional three-phase inverter. There is still a certain optimization space for adjusting the dc bias current and reducing the switching loss. The proposed scheme reconfigures the zero voltage vector based on the discontinuous PWM (DPWM) scheme, it effectively reduces the switching actions, thus reducing the switching frequency and ensuring the low switching loss of the inverter. In addition, an inserted zero voltage vector regulation method is associated with the proposed DPWM scheme, and it assures the zero-sequence current regulation ability. Besides, by adopting complementary zero voltage vector distribution in odd and even sectors, the balanced voltage stress of upper and lower switching devices in each bridge arm is realized. The proposed dual-inverter PWM scheme does not require any additional devices, and it provides an effective solution to improve the efficiency of the dc-biased-VRM drive system.
