This paper is concerned with steady vortex rings in an ideal fluid of uniform density, which are special global axi-symmetric solutions of the three-dimensional incompressible Euler equation. We systematically establish the existence, uniqueness and nonlinear orbital stability of steady vortex rings of small cross-section for which the potential vorticity is constant throughout the core. The latter two answer a long-standing question since the pioneering work of Fraenkel and Berger \cite{BF1} (Acta Math., 1974). To achieve our goal, we rescale the Stokes stream function of vortex ring by its cross-section radius, and expand it at the well-known Rankine vortex using Taylor's formula, where the estimates for coefficients are obtained by a decomposition according to Green's function and local Pohozaev identities. The main observations are: The stream function is even and has a translational invariance in $z$-direction; the zero point for the $r$-coefficient of linear term in its expansion determines the asymptotic location of vortex ring, which appears as the condition to eliminate the degenerate direction in Lyapunov-Schmidt reduction argument for existence; the non-vanishing condition of the second order $r$-coefficient at foresaid zero point is verified as one of the essential factors for uniqueness, while the negativity means that these vortex rings maximizes the functional composed of kinetic energy and impulse. By applying the Arnol'd's dual variational principle together with the uniqueness result, we are finally able to prove the nonlinear orbital stability of thin vortex rings. This result gives a large class of stable vortex rings supported on topological tori, which is different from Hill's spherical vortex discussed by Choi \cite{Choi20} (Comm. Pure Appl. We study the 2D Euler equation in a bounded simply-connected domain, and establish the local uniqueness of flow whose stream function $\psi_\varepsilon$ satisfies \begin{equation*} \begin{cases} -\varepsilon^2\Delta \psi_\varepsilon=\sum\limits_{i=1}^k \mathbf1_{B_\delta(z_{0,i})}(\psi_\varepsilon-\mu_{\varepsilon,i})_+^\gamma,\ \ \ & \text{in} \ \Omega, \psi_\varepsilon=0,\ \ \ & \text{on} \ \Omega, \end{cases} \end{equation*} with $\varepsilon\to 0^+$ the scale parameter of vortices, $\gamma\in(0,\infty)$, $\Omega\subset \mathbb R^2$ a bounded simply connected Lipschitz domain, $z_{0,i}\in\Omega$ the limiting location of $i^{\text{th}}$ vortex, and $\mu_{\varepsilon,i}$ the flux constants unprescribed. Our proof is achieved by a detailed description of asymptotic behavior for $\psi_\varepsilon$ and Pohozaev identity technique. For $k=1$, we prove the nonlinear stability of corresponding vorticity in $L^p$ norm, provided $z_{0,1}$ is a non-degenerate minimum point of Robin function. This stability result can be generalized to the case $k\ge 2$, and $(z_{0,1},\cdots,z_{0,k})\in \Omega^k$ being a non-degenerate minimum point of the Kirchhoff-Routh function., Comment: 38 pages

In this paper, we consider the existence of multiple nodal solutions of the nonlinear Choquard equation \begin{equation*} \ \ \ \ (P)\ \ \ \ \begin{cases} -\Delta u+u=(|x|^{-1}\ast|u|^p)|u|^{p-2}u \ \ \ \text{in}\ \mathbb{R}^3, \ \ \ \ \\ u\in H^1(\mathbb{R}^3),\\ \end{cases} \end{equation*} where $p\in (\frac{5}{2},5)$. We show that for any positive integer $k$, problem $(P)$ has at least a radially symmetrical solution changing sign exactly $k$-times.

17. Evaluating Maize Residue Cover Using Machine Learning and Remote Sensing in the Meadow Soil Region of Northeast China.

- Abstract
The management of crop residues in farmland is crucial for increasing soil organic matter and reducing soil erosion. Identifying the regional extent of crop residue cover (CRC) is vital for implementing conservation tillage and formulating agricultural subsidy policies. The Google Earth Engine (GEE) and remote sensing images from 2019 to 2023 were used to obtain spectral characteristics before the maize seedling stage in Northeast China, followed by constructing the CRC estimation models using machine learning algorithms. To avoid the impact of multicollinearity among data, three machine learning algorithms—ridge regression (RR), partial least squares regression (PLSR), and least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO)—were employed. By comparing the accuracy of these methods, the most accurate model was determined and applied to subsequent CRC estimation. Based on the estimated CRC and Conservation Technology Information Center definitions of tillage practices, the conservation tillage mapping was completed, and the spatiotemporal distribution characteristics were thoroughly analyzed. The following findings were demonstrated: (1) the PLSR-based model outperformed RR (Pearson's correlation coefficient (r) = 0.8875, R
2 = 0.7877, RMSE = 6.99%) and LASSO (r = 0.8903, R2 = 0.7926, RMSE = 6.88%) with higher accuracy (r = 0.9264, R2 = 0.8582, RMSE = 4.93%). (2) Over the five years, the average no-tillage (NT) proportion in the study area was 15.9%, reduced tillage (RT) was 17.8%, and conventional tillage (CT) was 66.3%. In 2020 and 2022, NT rates were significantly higher at 27.5% and 15.5%, while RT were 15.7% and 30.0%, respectively. (3) Compared to the Sanjiang and Liaohe Plains (RT = 1907 km2 and 1336 km2 , and NT = 559 km2 and 585 km2 , respectively), the Songnen Plain exhibited higher conservation tillage rates (where RT was 3791 km2 and NT was 1265 km2 ). This provides crucial scientific evidence for the management and planning of conservation tillage, thereby optimizing farmland production planning, enhancing production efficiency, and promoting the development of sustainable agricultural production systems. With the global population growth and increasing food demand, the development of precision agriculture has become particularly critical. In precision agriculture, accurately identifying areas of nitrogen stress in crops and planning precise fertilization paths are crucial. However, traditional coverage path-planning (CPP) typically considers only single-area tasks and overlooks the multi-area tasks CPP. To address this problem, this study proposed a Regional Framework for Coverage Path-Planning for Precision Fertilization (RFCPPF) for crop protection UAVs in multi-area tasks. This framework includes three modules: nitrogen stress spatial distribution extraction, multi-area tasks environmental map construction, and coverage path-planning. Firstly, Sentinel-2 remote-sensing images are processed using the Google Earth Engine (GEE) platform, and the Green Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (GNDVI) is calculated to extract the spatial distribution of nitrogen stress. A multi-area tasks environmental map is constructed to guide multiple UAV agents. Subsequently, improvements based on the Double Deep Q Network (DDQN) are introduced, incorporating Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) and dueling network structures. Additionally, a multi-objective reward function and a state and action selection strategy suitable for stress area plant protection operations are designed. Simulation experiments verify the superiority of the proposed method in reducing redundant paths and improving coverage efficiency. The proposed improved DDQN achieved an overall step count that is 60.71% of MLP-DDQN and 90.55% of Breadth-First Search–Boustrophedon Algorithm (BFS-BA). Additionally, the total repeated coverage rate was reduced by 7.06% compared to MLP-DDQN and by 8.82% compared to BFS-BA. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
