With the ease of using information technology tools, the explosive growth of smartphone applications (apps), and the rise of learning communities on social media, the acceptance of learning communities has become one of the most significant challenges for higher education institutions in Taiwan. In order to better understand teachers' collaborative performance in learning communities, this study employs the cognitive dimension (opportunism) and internal tension dimension (e.g. rising expectation, relationship burden) as restrictive factors; on the other hand, it uses emotional support, sense of belonging, and interpersonal altruism as facilitating factors; and community interaction, relationship performance, and collaborative performance as endrogenous factors. With a cross-sectional survey method and a quantitative approach, this study further dives into the collaborative performance of professional learning communities. A total of 157 teachers (87 male and 70 female) were surveyed, and a structural equation modeling approach was used. It was found that social media learning communities have done better than previous courses of field learning in unrestraining learning styles and increasing the breadth of knowledge. Facilitating and restrictive factors led to the rearrangement of the entire knowledge contribution process, enabling new configurations of individuals, members, and community. Moreover, community interactions are important drivers of relationship and collaboration performance supported by empirical data. The findings offer guidelines for policymakers and educators who evaluate teachers' collaborative performance and relationship performance to promote teaching efficiency and effectiveness by incorporating cyberethics in educational activities.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to develop and empirically test a model that can predict factors affecting student recycling behavior. The theoretical model was based on motivation, place attachment, environmental concern and interpersonal altruism. Design/methodology/approach: A cross-sectional study was conducted with college students in Taiwan using self-report questionnaires. Of the 800 distributed questionnaires, 523 were completed (response rate of 65.4%) and were analyzed using structural equation modeling. Partial least squares (PLS) were used to test the models and hypotheses. Findings: The results showed that environmental concern, motivation, interpersonal altruism and place attachment have significant positive effects on recycling behavior and motivation and place attachment have significant positive effects on interpersonal altruism. This research contributes to the existing literature by discriminating between two sorts of motivation: intrinsic and extrinsic. Based on these findings, suggestions for future research and practical implications are presented. Originality/value: Few studies have linked motivation, interpersonal altruism, environmental concern and place attachment to recycling behavior. Therefore, this study aimed to explore these relationships, specifically as they affect college students' behavior. This paper anticipates that increased knowledge about recycling behavior could be used to support the wider adoption of recycling practices.

Circular economy products are one of the solutions that can help solve the current environmental crisis and consequently achieve environmental sustainability. The theory of planned behavior (TPB) is the most important social psychological theory to explain individual purchasing behavior. However, the theory lacks a consideration of emotions, green altruism, and other factors. In order to address the research gap, this study proposes and tests a new theoretical model that incorporates variables such as emotions, green altruism, and the willingness to be environmentally friendly (WEF) into its extended model based on the TPB framework, in order to investigate the determinants that have an effect on Taiwanese consumers' purchase intention toward circular economy products. This study also uses multi‐group analysis (MGA) to analyze the moderating effects of WEF on its new theoretical model. It collected data from 387 Taiwanese consumers and analyzed the data using partial least squares (PLS). The research results showed (1) emotions, attitudes, green altruism, and perceived behavior control have a positive effect on consumer purchase intention toward circular economy products; (2) emotions have a positive effect on attitudes, green altruism, subjective norms, and perceived behavior control; and (3) groups with different levels of WEF have significant differences on consumer purchase intention toward circular economy products, in terms of emotions, attitudes, and green altruism. The results of this study can provide a reference for manufacturers and public policy makers to understand how consumers' emotions and green altruism can affect the decision‐making process to making purchase of circular economy products. The development of digital technology tool and the progress of animation design activities have led to great progress in the animation field. The storyboard is a type of media used to present animator ideas. Therefore, it is commonly viewed as fundamental to the animation industry. This study aims to discuss cognitive style- and gender-based differences in word and image idea associations and how to create a story using word and image stimuli. Using a cognitive style index instrument, 104 university freshmen (48 males and 56 females) were classified into the four type groups of male analytic, male intuitive, female analytic, and female intuitive. Each participant was then asked to execute two design tasks: associate word and image ideas (ideational process) and develop a storyboard (ideational outcome). Four experts evaluated outcomes in terms of creativity, structure, and drawing skill. Results show that larger numbers of words and images correlate with good word and image ideas and that analytic females exhibited the greatest level of ideation and intuitive males exhibited the least.

Understanding learners' behaviour, perceptions and influence in terms of learner performance is crucial to predict the use of electronic learning systems. By integrating the task-technology fit (TTF) model and the theory of planned behaviour (TPB), this paper investigates the online learning utilisation of Taiwanese students. This paper provides a better understanding of individual, technological and social factors regarding online learning system performance. A total of 870 students who were earlier introduced to e-learning were surveyed after a period of exposure to the system. The results of the research model were analysed using a structural equation modelling approach to verify 10 hypotheses; support was found for eight of them. This paper offers a new perspective on the mechanisms through the TTF and TPB model constructs, which facilitates e-learning learner performance and offers important implications for understanding learner performance in online learning environments.

This study develops a comprehensive model and questionnaire to measure Taiwanese older adults’ individual information technology ability. The instrument in this study consists of 13 items across 3 factors and serves as a reliable, valid, and useful measure for assessing older adults’ information technology ability. In total, 396 usable responses are obtained from 231 male and 165 female participants, where the average age was 71.66. Drawing on some of the key factors that influence older adults’ information technology ability, this article offers a new perspective on this multifaceted topic. The results provide evidence of the dimensionality, reliability, and validity of older adults’ abilities in terms of information technology. [ABSTRACT FROM PUBLISHER]
