In April 2023, we successfully treated a 21-year-old patient afflicted with a rare giant cystadenocarcinoma, an extraordinarily large mucinous ovarian tumor that weighed nearly 25 kg. The preoperative dimensions of the tumor measured 40 × 30 × 34 cm, with the tumor’s weight nearing 25 kg. Despite its uncommon nature, we elected to perform a right adnexectomy, greater omentectomy, and peritoneal biopsy during the surgical intervention due to the patient’s youth and the family’s expressed desire to preserve fertility. In the subsequent August follow-up, CT scans revealed the complete resolution of the tumor, accompanied by the normalization of tumor markers, indicating a favorable outcome. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Darier and Ferrand Dermatofibrosarcoma is a rare mesenchymal tumor in young adults, often located in the trunk. We report an observation of a vulvar localization of dermatofibrosarcoma Darier and Ferrand. It was a young patient, aged 25, who presented a tumor of the vulvar region. This tumor has been evolving for about 10 years in two phases, the first of which is longer, with very slow development, and a second phase characterized by rapid growth of the tumor coinciding with the start of pregnancy. The examination noted a tumor developed at the expense of the vulvar region. The diagnosis of dermatofibrosarcoma was retained in view of a characteristic histopathological appearance. The treatment consisted of resection surgery with margins of about 5 cm followed by reconstruction by direct suture. The evolution, in the immediate aftermath, was good. Lithopedion is a rare situation, corresponding to an ectopic pregnancy which evolves beyond the first trimester toward death and fetal calcification. This ectopic pregnancy is most often abdominal in location. Through this case report, we report the case of a lithopedion of left tubal localization in a young woman, diagnosed on CT scan following abdominal pain and confirmed by laparotomy with excision.

Physical activity is very closely related to movement skills and can be developed through physical education. By integrating self-efficacy into physical education as an intervention, it is hoped that both can be instilled and developed simultaneously.This study aims to examine the effect of self-efficacy in physical education in order to increase physical activity and sports satisfaction for young women. This research is an experimental research using a randomized pretest-posttest control group design. The instruments used to collect data were the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ) for young and middle-aged adults (15-59) and the Basic Needs Satisfaction in Sport Scale (BNSSS) instrument to measure satisfaction in sports which were then processed using an independent sample t-test compares two sample means to determine whether the group means differ significantly. The results of this study can be concluded that by integrating self-efficacy content in physical education lessons, it is very large in supporting the physical activities of female students and also increasing students’ motivation and creating a better learning environment. In addition, this intervention can increase satisfaction with physical education learning. These results have an indirect impact on students’ satisfaction in sports. Furthermore, it is necessary to conduct research on samples from various regions and samples of elementary school and college students.

Osteogenesis imperfecta (OI) is a rare heritable skeletal dysplasia, clinically characterized by abnormal bone fragility and predisposition to fractures. Here, we describe the case of a 30-year-old woman harboring a novel frameshift variant in the COL1A1 gene, causing a mild but characteristic phenotype of type I OI. She has blue sclerae, a medical history of fractures during infancy and puberty, a vertebral fracture at a young age, and joint hypermobility. The mutation, c.108del (p.Pro37GInfs*37), causes a premature stop codon insertion, predicted to lead to an unstable mRNA, with a consequent reduction in type I collagen quantity. At present, little is known about the evolution of this phenotype during pregnancy, lactation, and premenopause, conditions that could increase the risk of fractures. Management of type I OI in a young woman of childbearing potential is problematic because most antiosteoporotic drugs are contraindicated in pregnancy, as discussed in our brief review. Objective. Breast cancer is the leading cause of cancer mortality in women. Most deaths from breast cancer are due to recurrences or metastatic disease. The purpose of this study is to determine the impact of age in treatment strategy correlated with clinicopathological features. Methodology: In this retrospective study, 60 female patients with histologically-confirmed primary breast cancer were included. The women were treated in the Oncofort Hospital Bucharest, Romania between 2018 and 2020. The estrogen receptor (ER), progesterone receptor (PR) and HER2 status were determined using immunohistochemistry. Results. The mean age was 34.14 years (range = 24 – 40 years). Invasive ductal carcinoma of no specific type was seen in 84.1% of patients. The rates of grade I, II and III carcinomas were 6.7%, 28,3% and 65%, respectively. Among all patients, 33.3% had estrogen receptor, progesterone receptor positive tumors and 66.66% had estrogen receptor, progesterone receptor negative tumors. The proportion of patients overexpressing oncoprotein HER2 was 13.3%. Conclusion. Prognostic value of proliferation index (Ki-67) and hormonal receptors, may vary depending on age.

Formal and informal education through social media platforms is an important source of knowledge. They are accessible to any user, require limited mobility, and provide enormous learning opportunities. Online learning through social media after the COVID-19 pandemic is more available, accessible, and possible to the diverse learner population globally. In 2022, women are more open for education and have increased use of social media for different educational opportunities, both formal and informal, but there is still gender bias and inequality in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) fields and the digital sector (e.g., digital technologies, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information and Communication Technology, Artificial Intelligence, cybersecurity). The main objective of the research was to examine the role of available social platforms in educational and learning purposes for young women in Serbia. The research targeted young women, aged 18-32, actively participating and educating at the University of Kragujevac and the University of Priština, with temporary head office in Kosovska Mitrovica, in the Republic of Serbia. Data was collected through implementation of five focus groups, with 40 respondents. The method used for the research is both qualitative and quantitative. The research contained several different categories: educational and learning purposes of social media platforms, networking between scientific workers, presentation of new scientific achievements and information sharing between scientific workers and the wider public, and practical implementation of the skills learned through social media platforms. Collected data was processed qualitatively in the MAXQDA program and quantitatively in the SPSS program. Results showed that women do not only empower themselves enough with the exploration of online resources but also others when they teach online, actively share information on social media, but less participate in online discussion forums. On the other side, research showed the gap in communication between the scientific workers and the wider media as well as the lack of modern and innovative networking mechanisms. Those findings will encourage academic and scientific workers to support and use social media to outreach and dissemination the data and use them in the developing, networking, and learning context. Adult intussusception is less common than juvenile intussusception in terms of cause, appearance, and treatment. Because the clinical picture can be quite atypical and difficult to interpret, it is frequently misdiagnosed at first. Herein, we report the case of a previously healthy 23‐year‐old female patient who presented to the Emergency Department (ED) with acute abdominal pain, vomiting, and diarrhea for 1 day following her last menstrual period. Ileocecal intussusception was discovered throughout the investigation. She was rushed for open abdominal surgery. Meckel's diverticulum was found as a pathologic lead point in the resected specimen, with no evidence of malignancy. Introduction: The frequency of breast cancer in young women, corresponding to women under 40 years of age; varies from 5% to 7% in developed countries. The objective of this study was to contribute to the improvement of the management of breast cancer in young women in Togo, by establishing the molecular classification of these cancers. Methodology: This was a retrospective descriptive and analytical study from January 2010 to December 2020. Results: About 35 cases of breast cancer were identified in women under 40 years of age. The average age was 35.4 ± 3.5 years. The right breast was affected in 18 cases (51.43%). Histologically, 30 cases (85.72%) were invasive carcinoma of no special type (NST), 2 cases (5.71%) were invasive lobular carcinoma and micro-papillary carcinoma respectively, and 1 case (2.86%) was tubular carcinoma. There were 6 cases (17.1%) of grade I, 25 cases (71.4%) of grade II, and 4 cases (11.4%) of grade III. Molecularly, there were 20 cases (57.1%) of triple-negative subtype, 6 cases (17.1%) of Luminal B subtype, 05 cases (14.3%) of HER2-enriched subtype and 4 cases (11.4%) of Luminal A subtype. Conclusion: Breast cancers of young Togolese women express very weakly hormone receptors, with a predominance of a triple negative subtype. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Introduction: Conditional cash transfers (CTs) augmented with other interventions are promising interventions for reducing HIV risk in adolescent girls and young women. Methods: A multi‐phase, quasi‐experimental study assessed the impact of a CT (ZAR300; $22) conditional on attending a skills building intervention, Women of Worth (WoW), designed to improve sexual and reproductive health (SRH) outcomes in Cape Town, South Africa from May 2017 to December 2019. The intervention entailed 12 sessions with encouragement to attend adolescent and youth‐friendly health services. Women aged 19–24 years were randomized 1:1 to receive the intervention with a CT ("cash + care" or C+C) or without a CT ("care"). The study included a pilot phase followed by a post‐modification phase with improved uptake and retention without changing programme content or CT. Self‐reported HIV prevalence and SRH/HIV vulnerability were assessed via a self‐administered questionnaire at baseline, after 11 sessions, and 6–30 months' post‐intervention for a subset. Mixed effect logistic regression models were fitted to estimate within‐subject changes in outcomes. Results: Of 5116 participants, 904 (452 participants per arm) were in the pilot and 4212 (2039 "care" participants and 2173 "C+C" participants) were in the post modified phase. There were 1867 (85.9%) and 135 (6,6%) participants in the "C+C" group and the "Care," respectively, that were WoW completers (≥ 11 sessions/retention). During the pilot phase, 194 (42.9%) and 18 (4.0%) participants in "C+C" and the "care" groups were retained. Receiving a CT sustained participation nearly 60‐fold (OR 60.37; 95% CI: 17.32; 210.50, p <0.001). Three‐hundred and thirty women were followed for a median of 15.0 months [IQR: 13.3; 17.8] to assess the durability of impact. Self‐reported new employment status increased more than three‐fold (p <0.001) at WoW completion and was sustained to the longer time point. Intimate partner violence indicators were reduced immediately after WoW, but this was not durable. Conclusions: Participants receiving CT had sustained participation in an SRH/HIV prevention skills building with improvement in employment and some SRH outcomes. Gallstone pancreatitis is the most common cause of acute pancreatitis worldwide with 40-70% of cases. However, only 3-7% of patients with gallstones develop pancreatitis with the major cause dyslipidemia. The management of acute pancreatitis is supportive, but the definitive treatment for gallstone pancreatitis is laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LCC). Several clinical trials have been performed to evaluate optimal timing between early or delayed LCC in mild gallstone pancreatitis. Early LCC is performed within the period of hospital admission or within 2 weeks after discharge. This is a case report of a young woman, 29 years old who had a mild case of gallstone pancreatitis with a history of familial dyslipidemia and chronic alcoholism. This case showed successful of early LCC that performed on 10th day of hospitalization. The treatment shortened hospital stay with no intra or post-operative complication, improving the pancreatic enzyme level and reduced readmission caused by recurrent pancreatitis. Ambiguity around age ranges for adolescence and adulthood can make the application of age-based nutrition cutoffs confusing. We examined how estimates generated using the age-based anthropometric cutoffs for adolescent girls (10 to <19 y) and women of reproductive age (15–49 y) compared between late-adolescent and young women, and determined how application of both cutoffs affected late-adolescents' estimates. Using cross-sectional data from participants aged 15–23 y in the Pakistan-based Matiari emPowerment and Preconception Supplementation (MaPPS) Trial (n = 25,447), notably large differences in estimates were observed for stunting (30.5% and 7.9% for late-adolescent and young women, respectively; P < 0.001) and thinness (9.3% and 30.8%, respectively; P < 0.001). When both cutoffs were applied to adolescents' data, estimate differences were maintained. With each year of age, the difference for stunting increased and thinness decreased. Given the discrepancies observed both between and within groups, clarity around application of anthropometric cutoffs for youth (aged 15–24 y) is needed. Purpose – This study was conducted to investigate the Social Physique Anxiety (SPA) level in adolescent and young women with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). Design/methodology/approach – This is a descriptive study. It was conducted in Turkey. The study was conducted from January 1, 2017 to December 31, 2017. It was completed with a total of 150 young women – 75 of them had PCOS and 75 of them were healthy. Study data were collected using demographic information form and Social Physique Anxiety Scale (SPAS). Findings – The study was found that the adolescent and young women with PCOS had higher subscales and total scores for total SPAS at a statistically significant level than healthy adolescent and young women (p < 0.05). Practice implication – The findings of this study may be used for planning and implementing interventions in health-care practice such as screening and early treatment of SPA of women with PCOS. Originality/value – It was found that PCOS in adolescent and young women increased the SPA level. In line with these results, health professionals must be particularly aware of the potential psychosocial and health needs of adolescent and young women with PCOS.

Background: Preconception is the period before a young woman or woman conceives, which draws attention to understanding how her health condition and certain risk factors affect her and her baby's health once she becomes pregnant. Adolescence and youth represent a life-course continuum between childhood and adulthood, in which the prepregnancy phase lacks sufficient research., Objective: The aim of the study is to identify, map, and describe existing empirical evidence on preconception interventions that enhance health outcomes for adolescents, young adults, and their offspring., Methods: We will conduct an evidence gap map (EGM) activity following the Campbell guidelines by populating searches identified from electronic databases such as MEDLINE, Embase, CINAHL, and Cochrane Library. We will include interventional studies and reviews of interventional studies that report the impact of preconception interventions for adolescents and young adults (aged 10 to 25 years) on adverse maternal, perinatal, and child health outcomes. All studies will undergo title or abstract and full-text screening on Covidence software (Veritas Health Innovation). All included studies will be coded using the Evidence for Policy and Practice Information (EPPI) Reviewer software (EPPI Centre, UCL Social Research Institute, University College London). Cochrane Risk of Bias tool 2.0 and Assessing the Methodological Quality of Systematic Reviews-2 (AMSTAR-2) tool will be used to assess the quality of the included trials and reviews. A 2D graphical EGM will be developed using the EPPI Mapper software (version 2.2.4; EPPI Centre, UCL Social Research Institute, University College London)., Results: This EGM exercise began in July 2023. Through electronic search, 131,031 publications were identified after deduplication, and after the full-text screening, 18 studies (124 papers) were included in the review. Introduction: The mortality due to uterine cervical cancer has been gradually increasing in women under 40 years of age (U40) in Japan. We investigated the effect of high-risk human papillomavirus (HR-HPV) on U40 subjects without any overt cytological abnormalities. Materials and Methods: We retrospectively examined the clinical data, including the findings of a cobas 4800 HPV test that was approved in Japan in 2013 to triage women with atypical squamous cells of undetermined significance (ASC-US) and a histological examination in 589 Japanese women. Results: The overall prevalence rate of HR-HPV was 34.5%. Biopsy-confirmed cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) 2, or worse (CIN2+) was identified in 45.1% (23/51) of HR-HPV-positive women with ASC-US, who underwent colposcopy immediately. The mean period from the HPV test to the diagnosis of CIN2+ was 3.7 months. CIN2+ was more common (69.6%) in U40 patients. The rates of single or multiple infections of HPV-16, HPV-18, and 12 other HR-HPV (31, 33, 35, 39, 45, 51, 52, 56, 58, 59, 66, and 68) in CIN2+ U40 patients were 31.3%, 0%, and 81.3%, respectively. The relative risk for CIN 2+ among U40 women with HPV-16 was not significantly different from that of the patients with infection of any of the 12 other HR-HPVs. Conclusion: The results of this study suggest that the 12 other HR-HPVs have a potential to generate high-grade cervical lesions among young women, and the examination rate of colposcopy should be increased.

Phyllodes tumor (PT) is an uncommon tumor of primary breast origin, constituting about 1% of the breast tumors. Most of the PTs are benign, but some have malignant potential. A 22-year-old single female was referred with a history of left breast mass since she was 13 years old. The diagnosis was fibroadenoma and she had a history of 2 surgeries (three and six years ago). Left breast mass had recurred since last year. Ultrasound examination showed 3 masslike hypoechoic lesions without calcification. On core needle biopsy, the pathologist reported borderline PT. On mastectomy, the report changed to malignant PT with 10 mitoses/10 HPF. The greatest tumor diameter was measured as 10+8+6 cm. The PT has unpredictable clinical behavior and has a high risk of recurrence regardless of histologic subtype. Pathologists and clinicians should be aware of this tumor type in younger individuals for a better diagnosis and treatment. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
