Astro 2020 Decadal Survey APC White paper; Heterodyne spectroscopic instruments are currently the only practical technical approach for obtaining velocity-resolved spectra in the far infrared. Moreover, to produce the large-scale maps of molecular clouds envisioned for future missions, large-format (100’s pixels) array receivers are required, which is the focus of this whitepaper.
