UAV transmission tower inspection is the use of UAV technology for regular inspection and troubleshooting of towers on transmission lines, which helps to improve the safety and reliability of transmission lines and ensures the stability of the power supply. From the traditional manual tower boarding to the current way of manually selecting target camera shooting points from 3D point clouds to plan the inspection path of the UAV, operational efficiency has drastically improved. However, indoor planning work is still labor-consuming and expensive. In this paper, a deep learning-based point cloud transmission tower segmentation (PCTTS) model combined with the corresponding target point localization algorithm is proposed for automatic segmentation of transmission tower point cloud data and automatically localizing the key inspection component as the target point for UAV inspection. First, we utilize octree sampling with unit ball normalization to simplify the data and ensure translation invariance before putting the data into the model. In the feature extraction stage, we encode the point set information and combine Euclidean distance and cosine similarity features to ensure rotational invariance. On this basis, we adopt multi-scale feature extraction, construct a local coordinate system, and introduce the offset-attention mechanism to enhance model performance further. Then, after the feature propagation module, gradual up-sampling is used to obtain the features of each point to complete the point cloud segmentation. Finally, combining the segmentation results with the target point localization algorithm completes the automatic extraction of UAV inspection target points. The method has been applied to six kinds of transmission tower point cloud data of part segmentation results and three kinds of transmission tower point cloud data of instance segmentation results. The experimental results show that the model achieves mIOU of 94.1% on the self-built part segmentation dataset and 86.9% on the self-built instance segmentation dataset, and the segmentation accuracy outperforms that of the methods for point cloud segmentation, such as PointNet++, DGCNN, Point Transformer, and PointMLP. Meanwhile, the experimental results of UAV inspection target point localization also verify the method’s effectiveness in this paper.

Because of the requirement of long-term treatment for pigmented dermatoses, long-term oral medications can cause many adverse reactions, while topical medications are not effective due to poor skin permeability. The microneedle transdermal drug delivery system can penetrate the stratum corneum and form multiple reversible microchannels, which can significantly improve the permeability of therapeutic drugs and has the advantages of good local targeting, controlled and continuous drug delivery, while avoiding gastrointestinal irritation and liver first-pass effect, etc. It has been tried in the clinical treatment of pigmented disorders such as melasma, vitiligo and dark circles. This paper reviews the mechanisms of the microneedle transdermal drug delivery system, its basic research and clinical application in pigmented skin diseases such as melasma, vitiligo and dark circles under the eyes, in order to provide rationale for clinical application.

Abstract Background Urine albumin/creatinine ratio (UACR) is an important marker of early renal damage (ERD) caused by hypertension. Recent studies showed that blood pressure was a significant inverse association with temperature and climate. The purposes of our study were sought to explore the association of common medical comorbidities with ERD, and find independent risk factors to ERD in Chinese tropics with essential hypertension. Methods From January 2018 to December 2019, we assessed UACR in a total of 599 hypertensive Chinese Hainan patients. We defined ERD as a UACR between 30 mg/g and 300 mg/g. We analysed differences between qualitative variables using the chi-squared (χ2) test. We calculated correlations between UACR and age, hypertension duration (HD), systolic blood pressure (SBP), and diastolic blood pressure (DBP) using the Spearman’s rho test. To determine the odds ratio (OR), we evaluated binary logistic regression models. Results Among the 599 patients, 281 (46.9%) were found to have ERD. Arc sag is an important parameter in the design and operation and maintenance of transmission lines and is directly related to the safety and reliability of grid operation. The current arc sag measurement method is inefficient and costly, which makes it difficult to meet the engineering demand for fast inspection of transmission lines. In view of this, this paper proposes an automatic spacer bar segmentation algorithm, CM-Mask-RCNN, that combines the CAB attention mechanism and MHSA self-attention mechanism, which automatically extracts the spacer bars and calculates the center coordinates, and combines classical algorithms such as beam method leveling, spatial front rendezvous, and spatial curve fitting, based on UAV inspection video data, to realize arc sag measurement with a low cost and high efficiency. It is experimentally verified that the CM-Mask-RCNN algorithm proposed in this paper achieves an AP index of 73.40% on the self-built dataset, which is better than the Yolact++, U-net, and Mask-RCNN algorithms. In addition, it is also verified that the adopted approach of fusing CAB and MHSA attention mechanisms can effectively improve the segmentation performance of the model, and this combination improves the model performance more significantly compared with other attention mechanisms, with an AP improvement of 2.24%. The algorithm in this paper was used to perform arc sag measurement experiments on 10 different transmission lines, and the measurement errors are all within ±2.5%, with an average error of −0.11, which verifies the effectiveness of the arc sag measurement method proposed in this paper for transmission lines.

Abstract Background Lipocalin-2 (LCN2) is a novel adipokine with potential roles in obesity, insulin resistance, and inflammation. This study aims to assess the concentrations of LCN2 and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) expressed in the vitreous humors of patients with proliferative diabetic retinopathy (PDR). Methods The concentrations of LCN2 and VEGF were measured from the vitreous of 67 patients undergoing vitrectomy (20 controls and 47 PDR) via enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Patients with non-ocular pathology that could elevate the LCN2 level in the vitreous were excluded. PDR activity and a history of panretinal photocoagulation were used for further grouping analysis. Automatic power line extraction from aerial images of unmanned aerial vehicles is one of the key technologies of power line inspection. However, the faint power line targets and complex image backgrounds make the extraction of power lines a greater challenge. In this paper, a new power line extraction method is proposed, which has two innovative points. Innovation point one, based on the introduction of the Mask RCNN network algorithm, proposes a block extraction strategy to realize the preliminary extraction of power lines with the idea of “part first and then the whole”. This strategy globally reduces the anchor frame size, increases the proportion of power lines in the feature map, and reduces the accuracy degradation caused by the original negative anchor frames being misclassified as positive anchor frames. Innovation point two, the proposed connected domain group fitting algorithm solves the problem of broken and mis-extracted power lines even after the initial extraction and solves the problem of incomplete extraction of power lines by background texture interference. Through experiments on 60 images covering different complex image backgrounds, the performance of the proposed method far exceeds that of commonly used methods such as LSD, Yolact++, and Mask RCNN. DSCPL, TPR, precision, and accuracy are as high as 73.95, 81.75, 69.28, and 99.15, respectively, while FDR is only 30.72. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm has good performance and can accomplish the task of power line extraction under complex image backgrounds. The algorithm in this paper solves the main problems of power line extraction and proves the feasibility of the algorithm in other scenarios. In the future, the dataset will be expanded to improve the performance of the algorithm in different scenarios.

Water quality is a significant issue, and its assessment plays an important role in environmental management and pollution control. In this paper, we proposed a comprehensive water quality assessment method which takes into account both absolute and temporal trends in water quality. As the first step, we derived and applied a comprehensive pollution index (CPI) to characterize water pollution in 16 major tributaries to the Danjiangkou Reservoir, located in the upper reaches of the Hanjiang River in China. Next, we used Spearman’s rank correlation analysis to quantify temporal CPI trends in each tributary. As the final step, we conducted principal component analysis (PCA) using data on 8 water quality parameters and the temporal CPI trend from each of the 16 tributaries. The resultant comprehensive water quality assessment method identified tributaries, which stand to improve and threaten water quality in the Danjiangkou Reservoir from both immediate and future perspectives.

The development of information technology and computer science has put forward higher requirements on the intelligence of deformation monitoring. We study a method based on image deformation analysis, which uses Scale-Invariant Feature Transform (SIFT) to extract image feature points after preprocessing the acquired images, applies All-Pixels Matching (APM) method to the sequence images to do further high-precision matching to achieve the accuracy of subpixels, and finally solves the deformation variables according to the relationship of the real size of the reference target and its pixel. Wavelet analysis and least squares are used to improve the image quality and matching accuracy. Based on this method, we design and develop a new remotely automated deformation monitoring system. In this paper, we introduce the algorithm principle of deformation analysis, the integration of the system, and the engineering application example of the monitoring system. The monitoring accuracy of the system satisfying 0.1 mm within 10 m and 0.8 mm within 60 m is verified in the simultaneous comparison observation according to the high-precision total station, which illustrates the effectiveness of the present deformation analysis method and monitoring system and also has the characteristics of low monitoring cost and high degree of automation.

Abstract Background The association between nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and postoperative acute kidney injury (AKI) remains controversial, with limited studies specifically examining flurbiprofen. Therefore, this research aimed to investigate the association between intraoperative flurbiprofen administration and postoperative AKI. Methods We retrospectively identified a cohort of patients at the Third Xiangya Hospital of Central South University. A total of 3882 adult patients undergoing spinal surgery between January 1, 2012, and July 31, 2018, were included and classified into two groups: those receiving flurbiprofen (50 or 100 mg once, 5 min after anesthesia start) and those not receiving flurbiprofen. Abstract Objective The purpose of the study was to investigate the status of pregnancy stress and to explore factors associated with pregnancy stress among women by China’s two-child policy. Methods A mixed-method study involving both quantitative and qualitative methods was conducted using questionnaires and semi-structured interviews. The questionnaires encompassed socio-demographic and obstetric characteristics, as well as the Pregnancy Stress Rating Scale (PSRS) and the Social Support Rating Scale (SSRS). Initially, the participants were required to complete the questionnaires, enabling us to assess their respective pregnancy stress statuses. Subsequently, we selectively interviewed pregnant women with a second child and exhibited at least mild pregnancy stress. The qualitative study sought to uncover the factors contributing to their stress during pregnancy. Results A total of 463 subjects were enrolled; of the subjects, 22 (4.8%) had no stress, 407 (87.9%) had mild stress, 34 (7.3%) had moderate stress. Backgroundβ-blockers have been recommended for patients with heart failure (HF) and atrial fibrillation (AF), but studies have shown that β-blockers do not reduce all-cause mortality or cardiovascular mortality in patients with HF and AF.ObjectiveTo investigate the difference in efficacy between oral amiodarone and metoprolol succinate for patients with HF with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) and persistent atrial fibrillation (pAF) with rapid ventricular response (RVR).MethodsPatients with HFrEF complicated with pAF with RVR treated in the People's Hospital of Chongqing Hechuan between March 2018 and March 2019 were enrolled in this prospective observational study. The primary outcomes were cardiovascular mortality and the first hospitalization for HF rate. The secondary outcomes were type B pro-brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) before/after treatment, left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) before/after treatment, average heart rate (AhR), and the rate of sinus rhythm after 1 year of follow-up.ResultsA total of 242 patients with HFrEF complicated with pAF with RVR were enrolled and divided into amiodarone + perindopril + spironolactone+ routine drug (amiodarone group, n = 121) and metoprolol succinate + perindopril + spironolactone +routine drug (metoprolol succinate group, n = 121) according to their treatment strategy. Cardiovascular mortality (4.9 vs. 12.4%, HR: 2.500, 95%CI: 1.002–6.237, P = 0.040) and first hospitalization for HF (52.9 vs. 67.8%, HR: 1.281, 95%CI: 1.033–1.589, P = 0.024) were significantly lower in the amiodarone group than in the metoprolol group. The mean ventricular rate in the amiodarone group was significantly lower than in the metoprolol group (64.5 ± 3.2 vs. 72.4 ± 4.2, P < 0.001). After 1 year of follow-up, the sinus rhythm rate was significantly higher in the amiodarone group than in the metoprolol group (38.8 vs. 7.4%, HR: 0.191, 95%CI: 0.098–0.374, P < 0.001). The difference in proBNP (3,914.88 vs. 2,558.07, P < 0.001) and LVEF (−6.89 vs. −0.98, P < 0.001) before and after treatment was significantly higher in the amiodarone group than in the metoprolol group.ConclusionIn conclusion, in this prospective observational study, the amiodarone group had lower risk of cardiovascular death and the first hospitalization for HF than metoprolol in HFrEF and persistent atrial fibrillation (pAF) with RVR. Summary: Mitochondria are highly dynamic organelles subjected to fission and fusion events. During mitosis, mitochondrial fission ensures equal distribution of mitochondria to daughter cells. If and how this process can actively drive mitotic progression remains largely unknown. Here, we discover a pathway linking mitochondrial fission to mitotic progression in mammalian cells. The mitochondrial fission factor (MFF), the main mitochondrial receptor for the Dynamin-related protein 1 (DRP1), is directly phosphorylated by Protein Kinase D (PKD) specifically during mitosis. PKD-dependent MFF phosphorylation is required and sufficient for mitochondrial fission in mitotic but not in interphasic cells. Phosphorylation of MFF is crucial for chromosome segregation and promotes cell survival by inhibiting adaptation of the mitotic checkpoint. Thus, PKD/MFF-dependent mitochondrial fission is critical for the maintenance of genome integrity during cell division.

Donor−acceptor chromophores were almost quantitatively introduced into the side chains of a polystyrene derivative by sequential “click chemistry”-type addition reactions as an efficient postfunctionalization method. The first click reaction is the conventional Cu(I)-catalyzed azide−alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAC), and the second one is the atom-economic addition of strong acceptor molecules, such as tetracyanoethylene (TCNE) and 7,7,8,8-tetracyanoquinodimethane (TCNQ), to the aniline-substituted electron-rich alkynes. Steric hindrance was found to be an important factor in determining the reactivity of alkyne-acceptor addition reactions. All obtained polymers showed good solubility in common organic solvents, and they were fully characterized by GPC, 1H NMR and IR spectroscopy, and elemental analysis. After the acceptor addition, the polymers showed an intense charge-transfer (CT) band centered at ca. 480 nm for the TCNE adducts and ca. 710 nm for the TCNQ adducts. Electrochemical measurements of these polymers also revealed well-defined oxidation and reduction potentials, offering consistency between the electrochemical and optical band gaps. The second harmonic generation (SHG) coefficients (d33and d15) of the polymer thin films were evaluated by SHG measurements before and after corona poling at 150 °C, a temperature that was determined on the basis of thermal analyses. The results show that the TCNE adducted polymers possess better SHG properties than the corresponding TCNQ adducted polymers, probably reflecting the superior chromophore mobility within the polymers. Cold has a major impact on rice, so rice can only grow in specific climate zones. TMP14 (thylakoid membrane protein of 14 kDa) is a nuclear genome-encoded chloroplast thylakoid membrane protein, which is involved in a wide range of abiotic stress responses. However, the knowledge of TMP14 roles in response to adverse stimuli is still very limited in rice. Based on the results of expression profiles, OsTMP14 (GenBank accession: BAF27084.1) was highly induced in both leaf and panicle at all the developmental stages of rice analyses under cold and drought stresses. Sequence analyses of OsTMP14 putative promoter regions identified nine cis-elements related to stress responses. Furthermore, transgenic rice plants with overexpression of OsTMP14 showed more tolerance to cold stress. Taken together, these results indicate that OsTMP14 is involved in stress tolerance in rice, which is useful in developing transgenic rice with enhancing tolerance to cold stress.

Leucine-rich repeat receptor-like kinase protein (LRR-RLK) is involved in a wide range of biological pathways. So far, the function of LRR-RLK in the growth, developmental processes and various external stimuli has still not been clearly elucidated in rice (Oryza sativa L.). To understand the mechanism(s) underlying stress response and to discover novel stress-tolerance genes in rice, we analysed a global genome expression profiling of the indica cultivar Pei'ai 64S subjected to cold, drought or heat stresses. Expression profiles were obtained for leaf and panicle tissues at seedling, booting and heading stages from plants under no stress, or cold, drought or heat stress, using the GeneChip Rice Genome Array (Affymetrix) representing 51279 transcripts from japonica and indica rice. We identified a gene, OsLRR2 (Oryza sativa L. leucine-rich repeat receptor-like kinase 2, GenBank accession: EAZ02952.1), which was highly up-regulated under cold and drought stress. In order to study its function in stress tolerance, we cloned the cDNA of the gene through amplification by reverse-transcription polymerase chain reaction. Sequence analysis showed that the cDNA encodes a protein of 375 amino-acid residues with molecular weight of ≈40.62 kD and pI of ≈5.75. The sequence databases search found that the open reading frame of OsLRR2 contained a leucine-rich repeats domain. Analysis of the putative promoter region for candidate cis-regulatory elements identified five matches to cis-elements related to stress responses, suggesting that OsLRR2 could be considered a new candidate gene involved in stress tolerance in rice.

Abiotic stresses may seriously affect plant growth and development. In order to explore new stress tolerance genes in rice (Oryza sativa L.), expression profiles were obtained for leaf and panicle tissues. They were taken at seedling, booting, heading and flowering stages of indica cultivar Pei'ai 64S plants under cold, drought and heat stresses by using the GeneChip Rice Genome Array (Affymetrix), which includes 51,279 transcripts from japonica and indica rice. O. sativa L. cytosolic sulphotransferase-like gene (OsSOT9) was highly induced in leafs and panicles during different developmental stages, in response to all stresses, especially at booting stage under cold stress. The quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction analysis showed that this result was almost consensus with GeneChip Rice Genome Array. cDNA of OsSOT9 was cloned to study its function in stress tolerance through reverse transcription PCR. Sequence analysis showed that the cDNA encoded a protein with molecular weight of about 37.78 kDa and pl of about 6.6, which was composed of 343 amino acid residues. Bioinformatics data showed that the protein contained a conservative domain of the sulphotransferase (SOT) family gene. OsSOT9 was found to be closely related to the cytosolic sulphotransferase after comparison of the protein sequences. Analysis of the putative promoter region found 12 kinds of cis-elements related to stress response. On the basis of the above analyses, we suggested that OsSOT9 is a novel candidate gene involved in stress tolerance in rice.

Background and purpose: Tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) not only acts as proinflammatory cytokine conducing to wide spectrum of human diseases including inflammatory diseases, but also can induce tumor development. In the current study, we investigated the relationship between TNF-α gene polymorphisms and the occurrence and development of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) in Han population of Yunnan Province. Methods: A total of 425 lung cancer patients with NSCLC and 438 healthy individuals were included from Han population of Yunnan Province. The genotypes of 5 polymorphism loci, rs1799964 (-1031T>C), rs1800630 (-863C>A), rs1799724 (-857C>T), rs1800629 (-308G>A) and rs361525 (-238G>A) of TNF-α gene were detected by TaqMan assay. The frequency distributions of allele, genotype and haplotype in NSCLC patients and healthy controls were analyzed. Results: There was no significant difference in the allele and genotype frequency among 5 single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) sites in TNF-α gene promoter (P>0.05). And in stratification analysis, the frequency of rs1799724-T was significantly higher in the adenocarcinoma patients than in the controls (P=0.010, OR=1.56, 95% CI: 1.11-2.19), and the rs1799724-TT+TC carrier showed significantly higher susceptibility to adenocarcinoma in dominant model (P=0.007, OR=1.66, 95% CI: 1.146-2.417). The frequency of rs1800630-A was significantly higher in adenocarcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma and other histological types of carcinoma patients (P=0.013, OR=2.15, 95% CI: 1.16-3.96). The haplotype analysis indicated that the frequency of haplotype rs1799724T-rs1800629G was higher in the adenocarcinoma group than in the control group (P=0.048, OR=1.42, 95% CI: 1.00-2.01). Conclusion: The T allele and TT genotype of rs1799724 (C>T) in TNF-α gene promoter might be associated with the susceptibility to lung adenocarcinoma in Han population of Yunnan Province. And rs1800630 (C>T) -A might be a risk factor of other histological lung cancer in Han population of Yunnan Province.

To describe the influence of different pecan seedling rootstocks on drought stress resistance, 12 rootstocks of '87MX1-2.2', '87MX5-1.7', 'Elliott', 'Frutoso', 'Giles', 'Major', 'Moore', 'Peruque', 'Posey', 'Riverside', 'San Felipe', and 'VC1-68' were selected as rootstock treatments for grafting. In addition, the experimental materials for the grafted young 'Pawnee' tree treatments included the pressure-volume technique (PV technique) and cutting shoot transpiration methods to plot the PV and the cutting shoot transpiration curves, and the parameters calculated from the two curves were used to analyze the data produced by the subordinate function and cluster dendrogram methods. The results revealed that the different seedling rootstock treatments influenced the 'Pawnee' grafted trees to varying degrees on aspects of drought resistance, the ability to save water, the modulation of osmosis, and the sensitivity of the stomatal response. The order of drought tolerance for these different pecan seedling rootstock treatments from high to low was as follows: 'Posey', 'Peruque', 'Riverside', '87MX5-1.7', 'VC1-68', 'Elliott', '87MX1-2.2', 'San Felipe', 'Moore', 'Major', 'Giles', and 'Frutoso'.
