Research has been conducted on the rubromycin group and their analogues. Results indicate the presence of a competitive interaction with respect to the telomerase substrate primer in the cause of inhibition by beta-rubromycin.

Abstract

Pyrrolinone-based, non-peptidal beta-strand motifs are potent inhibitors of HIV protease and provide suitable transport characteristics compared to the corresponding peptidomimetics. The enzyme inhibition and antiviral activity is enhanced after substitution of the N-terminal Boc group with carbamate obtained from (S)-3-hydroxytetrahydrofuran. The enhanced activity of bis(pyrrolinones) is due to reduced solvation of pyrrolinones.

Abstract

New smectic C base materials, 6-alkyl-2-(4-alkyloxyphenyl)quinolines, were prepared and their physical properties investigated. Each compound showed a wide SmC temperature range. The rotational viscosities for the phenylquinoline derivatives were evaluated by switching studies in mixtures with a 2-ring phenylpyrimidine.

Abstract

The article presents a research study concerning the methods in torsion removal and straightness improvement of uncoiled industrial wires placed in drums. Study shows that wires that are placed in drums can be deformed due to stresses such as twisting and bending. In addition, there is a meager deformation of wires when placed in large drums, Moreover, wire twisting before placing it in drum is also suggested.
