Objective To disclose the relationships between serum LH and reproductive outcomes in Gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) antagonist protocol pretreated with luteal estradiol.Methods 371 patients, pretreated with estradiol, followed the GnRH antagonist protocol. They were divided into four groups based on the quartiles of serum LH levels on the day of gonadotropin (Gn) initiation(LHGI) and trigger (LHtrigger). Data on various pregnancy outcomes were collected.Results As serum LHGI increased, anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) level, antral follicle count (AFC), LHtrigger, estradiol (E2) and P on the trigger day, E2/oocytes, and oocyte numbers increased and peaked in Q4, while Gn dose decreased. Good-quality embryo and blast formation rates increased and peaked in Q3. LHGI

Cuproptosis shows enormous application prospects in lung metastasis treatment. However, the glycolysis, Cu+ efflux mechanisms, and insufficient lung drug accumulation severely restrict cuproptosis efficacy. Herein, an inhalable poly (2-(N-oxide-N,N-diethylamino)ethyl methacrylate) (OPDEA)-coated copper-based metal–organic framework encapsulating pyruvate dehydrogenase kinase 1 siRNA (siPDK) is constructed for mediating cuproptosis and subsequently promoting lung metastasis immunotherapy, namely OMP. After inhalation, OMP shows highly efficient lung accumulation and long-term retention, ascribing to the OPDEA-mediated pulmonary mucosa penetration. Within tumor cells, OMP is degraded to release Cu2+ under acidic condition, which will be reduced to toxic Cu+ to induce cuproptosis under glutathione (GSH) regulation. Meanwhile, siPDK released from OMP inhibits intracellular glycolysis and adenosine-5ʹ-triphosphate (ATP) production, then blocking the Cu+ efflux protein ATP7B, thereby rendering tumor cells more sensitive to OMP-mediated cuproptosis. Moreover, OMP-mediated cuproptosis triggers immunogenic cell death (ICD) to promote dendritic cells (DCs) maturation and CD8+ T cells infiltration. Notably, OMP-induced cuproptosis up-regulates membrane-associated programmed cell death-ligand 1 (PD-L1) expression and induces soluble PD-L1 secretion, and thus synergizes with anti-PD-L1 antibodies (aPD-L1) to reprogram immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment, finally yielding improved immunotherapy efficacy. Overall, OMP may serve as an efficient inhalable nanoplatform and afford preferable efficacy against lung metastasis through inducing cuproptosis and combining with aPD-L1.

The synergistic effects exhibited by recent dual-atom catalysts in mechanistic studies are classified and summarized. Challenges and prospects of dual-atom catalysts in synthesis, characterization, applications, and theory are discussed.

BiFeO3-BaTiO3 (BF-BT) ceramics are important multiferroic materials, which are attracting significant attention for potential applications in high temperature lead-free piezoelectric transducers. In the present study, the effects of Sr2+ as an acceptor dopant for Bi3+, in the range from 0 to 1.0% (in mole), on the structure and ferroelectric/piezoelectric properties of 0.7BiFeO3-0.3BaTiO3 ceramics were evaluated. The use of a post-sintering Ar annealing process was found to be an effective approach to reduce electrical conductivity induced by the presence of electron holes associated with reoxidation during cooling. A low Sr dopant concentration (0.3%, in mole) yielded enhanced ferroelectric (Pmax ∼ 0.37 C/m2, Pr ∼ 0.30 C/m2) and piezoelectric (d33 ∼ 178 pC/N, kp ∼ 0.27) properties, whereas higher levels led to chemically heterogeneous core-shell structures and secondary phases with an associated decline in performance. The electric field-induced strain of the Sr-doped BF-BT ceramics was investigated using a combination of digital image correlation macroscopic strain measurements and in-situ synchrotron X-ray diffraction. Quantification of the intrinsic (lattice strain) and extrinsic (domain switching) contributions to the electric field induced strain indicated that the intrinsic contribution dominated during the poling process.

The electro-hydraulic position servo system of a single rod hydraulic cylinder is used in a large number of engineering applications due to its compact structure, but due to its asymmetric structure and complex mathematical model, many factors cannot be accurately analysed by mathematical methods. To address this problem, a physical model of the electro-hydraulic servo system of a single rod hydraulic cylinder is established using Matlab/Simulink multi-domain physical modelling method to study and analyse its performance. The response graphs and Bode plots are obtained by inputting sinusoidal and square wave signals respectively. The simulation results show that: the physical model of the electro-hydraulic position servo system of a single rod hydraulic cylinder can directly add the corresponding components and environmental influence factors according to the working principle, the model accuracy is high, no transfer function is required, and the simulation results are more accurate and closer to the actual situation, which is conducive to the analysis of the control performance of the electro-hydraulic position servo system and has a more effective reference value to improve the accuracy of the system model simulation.

Objectives: This study aimed to determine the epidemiological and genetic features of human metapneumovirus (HMPV) infection in children in southern China, and the effect of meteorological factors on infection. Methods: 14,817 children (≤14 years) with acute respiratory tract infections from 2010 to 2019 were examined for HMPV and other respiratory viruses by real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction. Full-length F gene of 54 positive samples were sequenced and subjected to phylogenetic analysis. The correlation between the HMPV-positive rate and meteorological factors was analyzed by linear regression analysis. Results: HMPV was detected in 524 (3.5%) children, who were mostly younger than 1 year. The seasonal peak of HMPV prevalence mainly occurred in spring. Respiratory syncytial virus was the most common virus coinfected with HMPV (5.3%). Phylogenetic analysis revealed that the sequenced HMPV strains belonged to four sublineages, including A2b (1.9%), A2c (31.5%), B1 (50.0%), and B2 (16.7%). After adjusting for all meteorological factors, sunshine duration was inversely correlated with the HMPV-positive rate. Conclusion: HMPV is an important respiratory pathogen that causes acute respiratory tract infections in children in southern China, particularly in children ≤5 years old. The prevalence peak of HMPV in this area appeared in spring, and the predominant subtype was B1. Meteorological factors, especially long sunshine duration, might decrease the HMPV prevalence.

With the advancement in living standards, there has been a significant surge in the quantity and diversity of household waste. To safeguard the environment and optimize resource utilization, there is an urgent demand for effective and cost-efficient intelligent waste classification methodologies. This study presents MRS-YOLO (Multi-Resolution Strategy-YOLO), a waste detection and classification model. The paper introduces the SlideLoss_IOU technique for detecting small objects, integrates RepViT of the Transformer mechanism, and devises a novel feature extraction strategy by amalgamating multi-dimensional and dynamic convolution mechanisms. These enhancements not only elevate the detection accuracy and speed but also bolster the robustness of the current YOLO model. Validation conducted on a dataset comprising 12,072 samples across 10 categories, including recyclable metal and paper, reveals a 3.6% enhancement in mAP50% accuracy compared to YOLOv8, coupled with a 15.09% reduction in volume. Furthermore, the model demonstrates improved accuracy in detecting small targets and exhibits comprehensive detection capabilities across diverse scenarios. For transparency and to facilitate further research, the source code and related datasets used in this study have been made publicly available at GitHub.

Background: A hyperinflammatory response to severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection gravely worsens the clinical progression of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Although the undesirable effects of inflammasome activation have been correlated to the severity of COVID-19, the mechanisms of this process in the asymptomatic infection and disease progression have not yet been clearly elucidated. Methods: We performed strand-specific RNA sequencing in 39 peripheral blood mononuclear cell (PBMC) samples from asymptomatic individuals（n = 10）, symptomatic patients（n = 16） and healthy donors（n = 13）. Results: Dysregulation of pyrin inflammasomes along with the proline-serine-threonine phosphatase-interacting protein 1 (PSTPIP1) gene was identified in SARS-COV-2 infection. Notably, the PSTPIP1 expression level showed a significant negative correlation with an adjacent long-noncoding RNA (lncRNA) RP11-797A18.6 in the asymptomatic individuals compared with the healthy controls. In addition, a decline in the nuclear factor kappa B subunit 1 (NFKB1) gene expression was observed in asymptomatic infection, followed by a rise in the mild and moderate disease stages, suggesting that altered NFKB1 expression and associated proinflammatory signals may trigger a disease progression. Conclusions: Overall, our results indicate that PSTPIP1-dependent pyrin inflammasomes-mediated pyroptosis and NF-κB activation might be potential preventive targets for COVID-19 disease development and progression.

Although the safety in the production of the mines in China has improved, coal bursts pose a serious threat to coal mines, especially deep mining. There have been eight coal bursts accidents with forty-eight deaths in the past five years. These accidents stem from the stopgap measures in terms of prevention and control and the unawareness of the occurrence mechanism of coal bursts. Furthermore, the sufficiently-mined mines in the east of China, such as the Juye and Yanzhou coal mines in Shandong province, are characterized by deep mining and strong disturbance. Whereas the insufficiently-mined mines in the west, such as the Ordos coal mine in Inner Mongolia province and Binchang coal mine in Shaanxi province, are characterized by high-intensity mining and hard rock strata. These complex mining environments create new challenges for preventing and controlling coal bursts. Therefore, the mechanism, prevention, and control of coal bursts have become a major engineering and scientific problem to be addressed urgently. The source-preventing method is the key issue in handling it. This paper reviewed the documents regarding the basic theory and numerical technology of coal bursts, monitoring and identification technology of dangerous zones, regional and local prevention and control technology, and equipment. Then, a new perspective of source prevention and control was proposed. Given this perspective, two scientific questions were detailed, including the source properties and prevention and control principles of coal burst during the process. Furthermore, four technical questions were also discussed, containing the fine simulation technology for the whole process of coal burst, the monitoring technology of coal rock stress and full-scale overburden structure in the entire life cycle of the mine, the accurate and intelligent identification technology of the danger zone with the proneness of coal burst, the collaborative prevention, and control technology of coal burst in the coal mine. Finally, the corresponding prevention and control methods and technical frameworks were formulated according to the characteristics of production and new mines. The findings will create a new way to prevent and control coal bursts. It also provides theoretical bases and technical support for the “zero bursts” goal for coal mines.

Summary: Here, we present a protocol for exploring the effects of PPP1R15A inhibitor, Sephin1, on antitumor immunity of B16F1 subcutaneous tumor in mice. We describe steps for constructing single-cell transcriptome and TCR libraries, sequencing, and using sequencing data for the integration of expression and TCR data. IntroductionAt present, there is an urgent need for the rapid and accurate detection of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) neutralizing antibodies (NAbs) to evaluate the ability of the human body to resist coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) after infection or vaccination. The current gold standard for neutralizing antibody detection is the conventional virus neutralization test (cVNT), which requires live pathogens and biosafety level-3 (BSL-3) laboratories, making it difficult for this method to meet the requirements of large-scale routine detection. Therefore, this study established a time-resolved fluorescence-blocking lateral flow immunochromatographic assay (TRF-BLFIA) that enables accurate, rapid quantification of NAbs in subjects.MethodsThis assay utilizes the characteristic that SARS-CoV-2 neutralizing antibody can specifically block the binding of the receptor-binding domain (RBD) of the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein and angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) to rapidly detect the content of neutralizing antibody in COVID-19-infected patients and vaccine recipients.ResultsWhen 356 samples of vaccine recipients were measured, the coincidence rate between this method and cVNT was 88.76%, which was higher than the coincidence rate of 76.97% between cVNT and a conventional chemiluminescence immunoassay detecting overall binding anti-Spike-IgG. More importantly, this assay does not need to be carried out in BSL-2 or 3 laboratories.DiscussionTherefore, this product can detect NAbs in COVID-19 patients and provide a reference for the prognosis and outcome of patients. Simultaneously, it can also be applied to large-scale detection to better meet the needs of neutralizing antibody detection after vaccination, making it an effective tool to evaluate the immunoprotective effect of COVID-19 vaccines.

In situ, spatially-resolved synchrotron X-ray diffraction was utilized to investigate the electric field-induced heterogenous phase transformation of nonergodic relaxor 0.93Na1/2Bi1/2TiO3-0.07BaTiO3 ceramics. A Cu electrode was coated on one surface of a rectangular sample by aerosol deposition (AD), while a Pt layer was deposited on the opposite surface by sputter deposition. It is anticipated that a different stress state and/or domain morphology should occur on the AD deposited Cu electrode side due to the particle impact-consolidation deposition process. Under an electric field, different sample regions, i.e., AD, Middle, and Sputter sides, showed systematic changes in the relaxor to ferroelectric phase transition behavior. In particular, most grains transformed at a sub-coercive field of 0.8 kV/mm, while the majority of the grains only appeared to undergo transitions at a higher field (2.4 kV/mm). Also, the tetragonal phase became the dominant structure at higher field levels. Importantly, both and grains undergo phase switching at lower fields in the region close to the AD-processed layer. The study indicates that the AD process-induced stress can facilitate the electric field-induced relaxor to ferroelectric phase transition, i.e., the AD Cu side showed more significant lattice strain and domain texture than the sputter Pt side.

Summary: Protein phosphatase 1 regulatory subunit 15A (PPP1R15A) is an important factor in the integrated stress response (ISR) in mammals and may play a crucial role in tumorigenesis. In our studies, we found an inhibitor of PPP1R15A, Sephin1, plays a protumorigenic role in mouse tumor models. By analyzing the single-cell transcriptome data of the mouse tumor models, we found that in C57BL/6 mice, Sephin1 treatment could lead to higher levels of ISR activity and lower levels of antitumor immune activities. Specifically, Sephin1 treatment caused reductions in antitumor immune cell types and lower expression levels of cytotoxicity-related genes. In addition, T cell receptor (TCR) repertoire analysis demonstrated that the clonal expansion of tumor-specific T cells was inhibited by Sephin1. A special TCR + macrophage subtype in tumor was identified to be significantly depleted upon Sephin1 treatment, implying its key antitumor role. These results suggest that PPP1R15A has the potential to be an effective target for tumor therapy.

Climatic factors are the main drivers that change net primary productivity (NPP). We chose the Yiluo River Basin as the study area to investigate the response of NPP to climatic factors in the Yellow River’s middle reaches. The temporal and spatial distribution of net primary productivity and the trend change of slope in the basin from 2000 to 2020 are analyzed. In addition, we analyzed the correlation between the NPP and climatic factors (precipitation and temperature) and the time-lag effect. The results show that 1) the annual average NPP in the basin is 556.4 gC/m2/a, the maximum value that occurred in 2019. Most of the NPP’s mutation points in the basin’s forest appeared in 2004, while the NPP’s mutation points in arable land mostly appeared in 2008 and 2009. 2) The slope trend analysis result of NPP from 2000 to 2020 shows that the NPP in 67.88% of the basin shows a significant increasing trend, 3.8% of the basin shows a significant decrease, and the other area show no significant change. 3) The correlation analysis between NPP and climatic factors shows a positive correlation between precipitation and NPP in 62.3% of the basin and a positive correlation between air temperature and NPP in 62.5%. The response of NPP to precipitation and temperature in the basin has different degrees of a time-lag effect. The NPP has a time-lag effect on precipitation in 44.8% of the basin, and its mean lag time is 8 days. NPP has a time-lag effect on temperature in 55.7% of the basin, and its mean lag time is 1 day. This study is beneficial to understanding the influence of climatic factor change on vegetation activities in the Yiluo River Basin. Our study illustrates the significance of time lag in analyzing the relationship between NPP and climatic factors. Furthermore, it provides support for scientific vegetation regulation and allocation, as well as adaptation to climate change in areas similar to the Loess Plateau, based on the lag time distribution corresponding to different vegetation types in different regions of the Yiluo River Basin. After that, these areas’ water resources will be fully utilized by vegetation, and ecological restoration could be accelerated.

Submarine pipelines are widely adopted around the world for transporting oil and gas from offshore fields. They tend to be severely ruined by the extreme waves induced by the natural disaster, such as hurricanes and tsunamis. To maintain the safety and function integrity of the pipelines, porous media have been used to wrap them from the external loads by the submarine environment. The functions of the porous wrappers under the hydrodynamic impact remain to be uncovered before they are widely accepted by the industry. In this study, a numerical wave tank is established with the immersed boundary method as one of the computational fluid dynamics. The submarine pipelines and their porous wrappers are two-way-coupled in terms of displacement and pressure at their interfaces. The impact from the solitary waves, which approximately represent the extreme waves in the reality, on the pipelines with different configurations of the porous wrapper is investigated. The results present significant protective functions of the wrappers on the internal pipelines, transferring the impact forces from the pipelines to the wrappers. The protective effects tend to be enhanced by the porosity and thickness of the wrappers. The influence of the pipeline configurations and the marine environment are then analysed. As for the front pipeline, an increase in the gap leads to a slight increase in the horizontal forces on both the wrapper and the pipeline, but a significant increase in the vertical forces. As for the rear pipeline, because of the shield function of the front pipeline, the velocity within the gap space and the forces on the pipes are decreased with the decrease in the gap size. The complex flow fields around the pipelines with wrappers are also illuminated, implying that the protection function of the wrapper is enhanced by the wave height reduction.

Cervical cancer is a serious threat to women's health due to malignant tumours, and early detection can greatly reduce mortality. In this paper, cervical tissue was used as the research object, and Raman spectroscopy analysis of cervical inflammation and precancerous tissues was used to detect cervical cancer. This provides a clinical basis for the use of Raman spectroscopy in analysis of cervical precancerous lesions. In this study, the actual Raman spectrum signal of precancerous cervical tissue was collected, and the PLS and Relief methods were used to extract the signal characteristics of the spectrum. Then, we established and compared KNN and ELM classification models and finally achieved the early diagnosis of cervical cancer. This experiment designed a novel feature fusion method in feature extraction, and we used the first and second derivative features that reflect more peak details of the original spectrum for fusion. The accuracy rate of KNN without feature fusion is 88.17%, and the accuracy rate after fusion is 93.55%. The accuracy rate of ELM without feature fusion is 90.81%, and the accuracy rate after fusion is 93.51%. The results show that the accuracy of feature fusion has been improved to a certain extent, and this method is expected to be used as a new method of spectral data fusion.

The prevention of the COVID-19 pandemic is highly complicated by the prevalence of asymptomatic and recurrent infection. Many previous immunological studies have focused on symptomatic and convalescent patients, while the immune responses in asymptomatic patients and re-detectable positive cases remain unclear. Here we comprehensively analyzed the peripheral T-cell receptor (TCR) repertoire of 54 COVID-19 patients in different courses, including asymptomatic, symptomatic, convalescent, and re-detectable positive cases. We identified a set of V–J gene combinations characterizing the upward immune responses through asymptomatic and symptomatic courses. Furthermore, some of these V–J combinations could be awakened in the re-detectable positive cases, which may help predict the risk of recurrent infection. Therefore, TCR repertoire examination has the potential to strengthen the clinical surveillance and the immunotherapy development for COVID-19.

The evolution of a submarine landslide is a very complicated process due to slurry–water interactions. Most previous studies have focused on debris flows or turbidity currents independently. Little research has been conducted on the processes of transformation from debris flows into turbidity currents. Moreover, the underlying mechanical mechanisms of these transformation processes are not well understood. In this study, we aimed to better understand these mechanisms by simulating submarine landslide transportation processes using computational fluid dynamics. In the numerical models, the two-phase mixture module was adopted to mimic the interactions of the slurry with the ambient water, which we validated through a dam-break case. Here, the rheological behaviors of the slurries are described using the Herschel–Bulkley model. A formula for transformation rates is best fitted through a case series of debris flows. In particular, the activation stress is expressed by the dynamic pressure at the moment when the slurry starts to mobilize, which is fitted as a coefficient 6.55 × 10−5 times the shear strength. Then, two coefficients in the formula of the transformation rate are fitted as 1.61 and 0.26, respectively, based on the cases of debris flows, considering their different initial thicknesses, levels of slurry consistency and slope angles. Finally, in a real-scale debris flow case study, we demonstrate that the slurry is fully transformed before it is deposited. The expected outcome, the mechanical theory, the activation stress and the transformation rate would be applied to assess the influence area of the realistic turbidity currents and their harm to the subsea environment.

The appearance and magnitude of the immune response and the related factors correlated with SARS-CoV-2 vaccination need to be defined. Here, we enrolled a prospective cohort of 52 participants who received two doses of inactivated vaccines (BBIBP-CorV). Their serial plasma samples (n = 260) over 2 months were collected at five timepoints. We measured antibody responses (NAb, S-IgG and S-IgM) and routine blood parameter. NAb seroconversion occurred in 90.7% of vaccinated individuals and four typical NAb kinetic curves were observed. All of the participants who seroconverted after the first dose were females and had relatively high prevaccine estradiol levels. Moreover, those without seroconversion tended to have lower lymphocyte counts and higher serum SAA levels than those who experienced seroconversion. The NAb titers in young vaccine recipients had a significantly higher peak than those in elderly recipients. S-IgG and S-IgM dynamics were accompanied by similar trends in NAb. Here, we gained insight into the dynamic changes in NAbs and preliminarily explored the prevaccine blood parameters related to the kinetic subclasses, providing a reference for vaccination strategies.

To systematically explore potential biomarkers which can predict disease severity in COVID-19 patients and prevent the occurrence or development of severe COVID-19, the levels of 440 factors were analyzed in patients categorized according to COVID-19 disease severity; including asymptomatic, mild, moderate, severe, convalescent and healthy control groups. Factor candidates were validated by ELISA and functional relevance was uncovered by bioinformatics analysis. To identify potential biomarkers of occurrence or development of COVID-19, patient sera from three different severity groups (moderate, severe, and critical) at three time points (admission, remission, and discharge) and the expression levels of candidate biomarkers were measured. Eleven differential factors associated with disease severity were pinpointed from 440 factors across 111 patients of differing disease severity. The dynamic changes of GDF15 reflect the progression of the disease, while the other differential factors include TRAIL R1, IGFBP-1, IGFBP-4, VCAM-1, sFRP-3, FABP2, Transferrin, GDF15, IL-1F7, IL-5Rα, and CD200. Elevation of white blood cell count, neutrophil count, neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), Alanine aminotransferase and Aspartate aminotransferase, low lymphocyte and eosinophil counts in the severe group were associated with the severity of COVID-19. GDF15 levels were observed to be associated with the severity of COVID-19 and the dynamic change of GDF15 levels was closely associated with the COVID-19 disease progression. Therefore, GDF15 might serve as an indicator of disease severity in COVID-19 patients.

The existence of asymptomatic and re-detectable positive coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients presents the disease control challenges of COVID-19. Most studies on immune responses in COVID-19 have focused on moderately or severely symptomatic patients; however, little is known about the immune response in asymptomatic and re-detectable positive (RP) patients. Here we performed a comprehensive analysis of the transcriptomic profiles of peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) from 48 COVID-19 patients which included 8 asymptomatic, 13 symptomatic, 15 recovered and 12 RP patients. The weighted gene co-expression network analysis (WGCNA) identified six co-expression modules, of which the turquoise module was positively correlated with the asymptomatic, symptomatic, and recovered COVID-19 patients. The red module positively correlated with symptomatic patients only and the blue and brown modules positively correlated with the RP patients. The analysis by single sample gene set enrichment analysis (ssGSEA) revealed a lower level of IFN response and complement activation in the asymptomatic patients compared with the symptomatic, indicating a weaker immune response of the PBMCs in the asymptomatic patients. In addition, gene set enrichment analysis (GSEA) analysis showed the enrichment of TNFα/NF-κB and influenza infection in the RP patients compared with the recovered patients, indicating a hyper-inflammatory immune response in the PBMC of RP patients. Thus our findings could extend our understanding of host immune response during the progression of COVID-19 disease and assist clinical management and the immunotherapy development for COVID-19.

Coal bump often occurs in coal mining among many working faces in mine group under the control of large geological bodies. In order to study the coal bump mechanism between adjacent working faces under the conditions of large fault and huge thick overburden conglomerate, this paper regards Yima mining area as a practical engineering background and theoretically analyzes the mechanical behavior of overlying rock in the spatial structure. Then, the deep-ground and whole-space measurement is carried out in the 13230 working face of Gengcun mine and 21121 working face of Qianqiu mine. The results show that the basic structural unit in Yima mining area is composed of two goafs, middle coal pillar, and overlying conglomerate. Under the condition of nonsynchronous mining in adjacent working faces, there is a comovement effect similar to lever’s “prying” phenomenon in thick conglomerate beam—the conglomerate strata above larger goaf side induce an overall uplift movement of the corresponding strata above smaller goaf side, and uplift length of the conglomerate strata is related to the mining length, coal pillar width, caving angle, and coal-conglomerate distance. The results of surface subsidence, microseism, and stress in the two working faces verify the conglomerate’s phenomenon of comovement effect and disturbance range and further explain the role of active movement of F16 fault and overall causes of huge thick conglomerate on the coal bump. The vertical stress of the 13230 face is relatively low at the beginning, and high horizontal stress by fault activation causes typical bump accident with the horizontal sliding of coal body. With the increasing development of 13230 face, the intensity and frequency of coal bump in horizontal direction decrease obviously, but with high proportion in vertical direction. The results provide a theoretical basis for the study on the mechanism of coal bump between two adjacent working faces under the conditions of huge thick conglomerate and large thrust fault.

Conventional triaxial strength criteria are important for the judgment of rock failure. Linear, parabolic, power, logarithmic, hyperbolic, and exponential equations were, respectively, established to fit the conventional triaxial compression test data for 19 types of rock specimens in the Mohr stress space. Then, a method for fitting the failure envelope to all common tangent points of each two adjacent Mohr’s circles (abbreviated as CTPAC) was proposed in the Mohr stress space. The regression accuracy of the linear equation is not as good as those of the nonlinear equations on the whole, and the regression uniaxial compression strength (σc)r, tensile strength (σt)r, cohesion cr, and internal frictional angle φr predicted by the regression linear failure envelopes with the method for fitting the CTPAC in the Mohr stress space are close to those predicted in the principal stress space. Therefore, the method for fitting CTPAC is feasible to determine the failure envelopes in the Mohr stress space. The logarithmic, hyperbolic, and exponential equations are recommended to obtain the failure envelope in the Mohr stress space when the data of tensile strength (σt)t are or are not included in regression owing to their higher R2, less positive x-intercepts, and more accurate regression cohesion cr. Furthermore, based on the shape and development trend of the nonlinear strength envelope, it is considered that when the normal stress is infinite, the total bearing capacity of rock tends to be a constant after gradual increase with decreasing rates. Thus, the hyperbolic equation and the exponential equation are more suitable to fit triaxial compression strength in a higher maximum confining pressure range because they have limit values. The conclusions can provide references for the selection of the triaxial strength criterion in practical geotechnical engineering.
