The purpose of this article is to give relations among the uniform B-splines, the Bernstein basis functions, and certain families of special numbers and polynomials with the aid of the generating functions method. We derive a relation between generating functions for the uniform B-splines and generating functions for the Bernstein basis functions. We derive some functional equations for these generating functions. Using the higher-order partial derivative equations of these generating functions, we derive both the generalized de Boor recursion relation and the higher-order derivative formula of uniform B-splines in terms of Bernstein basis functions. Using the functional equations of these generating functions, we derive the relations among the Bernstein basis functions, the uniform B-splines, the Apostol-Bernoulli numbers and polynomials, the Aposto–Euler numbers and polynomials, the Eulerian numbers and polynomials, and the Stirling numbers. Applying the p-adic integrals to these polynomials, we derive many novel formulas. Furthermore, by applying the Laplace transformation to these generating functions, we derive infinite series representations for the uniform B-splines and the Bernstein basis functions.

Abstract The goal of this paper is to demonstrate many explicit computational formulas and relations involving the Changhee polynomials and numbers and their differential equations with the help of functional equations and partial derivative equations for generating functions of these polynomials and numbers. These formulas also include the Euler polynomials, the Stirling numbers, the Bernoulli numbers and polynomials of the second kind, the Changhee polynomials of higher order, and the Daehee polynomials of higher order, which are among the well known polynomial families. By using PDEs of these generating functions, not only some recurrence relations for derivative formulas of the Changhee polynomials of higher order, but also two open problems for partial derivative equations for generating functions are given. Moreover, by using functional equations of the generating functions, two inequalities including combinatorial sums, the Changhee numbers of negative order, and the Stirling numbers of the second kind are provided. Finally, further remarks and observations for the results of this paper are given.

Abstract The main purpose and motivation of this work is to investigate and provide some new identities, inequalities and relations for combinatorial numbers and polynomials, and for Peters type polynomials with the help of their generating functions. The results of this paper involve some special numbers and polynomials such as Stirling numbers, the Apostol–Euler numbers and polynomials, Peters polynomials, Boole polynomials, Changhee numbers and the other well-known combinatorial numbers and polynomials. Finally, in the light of Boole’s inequality (Bonferroni’s inequalities) and bounds of the Stirling numbers of the second kind, some inequalities for a combinatorial finite sum are derived. We mention an open problem including bounds for our numbers. Some remarks and observations are presented.

The aim of this paper is to give generating functions for parametrically generalized polynomials that are related to the combinatorial numbers, the Bernoulli polynomials and numbers, the Euler polynomials and numbers, the cosine-Bernoulli polynomials, the sine-Bernoulli polynomials, the cosine-Euler polynomials, and the sine-Euler polynomials. We investigate some properties of these generating functions. By applying Euler’s formula to these generating functions, we derive many new and interesting formulas and relations related to these special polynomials and numbers mentioned as above. Some special cases of the results obtained in this article are examined. With this special case, detailed comments and comparisons with previously available results are also provided. Furthermore, we come up with open questions about interpolation functions for these polynomials. The main results of this paper highlight the existing symmetry between numbers and polynomials in a more general framework. These include Bernouilli, Euler, and Catalan polynomials.

Abstract The aim of this is to give generating functions for new families of special numbers and polynomials of higher order. By using these generating functions and their functional equations, we derive identities and relations for these numbers and polynomials. Relations between these new families of special numbers and polynomials and Bernoulli numbers and polynomials are given. Finally, recurrence relations and derivative formulas, which are related to these numbers and polynomials, are given.

Abstract The purpose of this paper is to give identities and relations including the Milne–Thomson polynomials, the Hermite polynomials, the Bernoulli numbers, the Euler numbers, the Stirling numbers, the central factorial numbers, and the Cauchy numbers. By using fermionic and bosonic p-adic integrals, we derive some new relations and formulas related to these numbers and polynomials, and also the combinatorial sums.

The main purpose of this paper is to define p-adic and q-Dedekind type sums. Using the Volkenborn integral and the Teichmüller character representations of the Bernoulli polynomials, we give reciprocity law of these sums. These sums and their reciprocity law generalized some of the classical p-adic Dedekind sums and their reciprocity law. It is to be noted that the Dedekind reciprocity laws, is a fine study of the existing symmetry relations between the finite sums, considered in our study, and their symmetries through permutations of initial parameters.

The aim of this paper is to study and investigate generating-type functions, which have been recently constructed by the author, with the aid of the Euler’s identity, combinatorial sums, and p-adic integrals. Using these generating functions with their functional equation, we derive various interesting combinatorial sums and identities including new families of numbers and polynomials, the Bernoulli numbers, the Euler numbers, the Stirling numbers, the Daehee numbers, the Changhee numbers, and other numbers and polynomials. Moreover, we present some revealing remarks and comments on the results of this paper.

Abstract In this manuscript, generating functions are constructed for the new special families of polynomials and numbers using the p-adic q-integral technique. Partial derivative equations, functional equations and other properties of these generating functions are given. With the help of these equations, many interesting and useful identities, relations, and formulas are derived. We also give p-adic q-integral representations of these numbers and polynomials. The results we have obtained for these special numbers and polynomials are closely related to well-known families of polynomials and numbers including the Bernoulli numbers, the Apostol-type Bernoulli numbers and polynomials and the Frobenius-Euler numbers, the Stirling numbers, and the Daehee numbers. We give some remarks and observations on the results of this paper.

The main purpose of this paper is to use the multiple twisted Bernoulli polynomials and their interpolation functions to construct multiple twisted Dedekind type sums. We investigate some properties of these sums. By use of the properties of multiple twisted zeta functions and the Bernoulli functions involving the Bernoulli polynomials, we derive reciprocity laws of these sums. Further developments and observations on these new Dedekind type sums are given.

The main purpose of this paper is to give many new formulas involving the Fibonacci numbers, the golden ratio, the Lucas numbers, and other special numbers. By using generating functions for the special numbers with their functional equations method, we also give many new relations among the Fibonacci numbers, the Lucas numbers, the golden ratio, the Stirling numbers, and other special numbers. Moreover, some applications of the Fibonacci numbers and the golden ratio in chemistry are given.

In this paper, we further study the generating function involving a variety of special numbers and ploynomials constructed by the second author. Applying the Mellin transformation to this generating function, we define a new class of zeta type functions, which is related to the interpolation functions of the Apostol–Bernoulli polynomials, the Bernoulli polynomials, and the Euler polynomials. This new class of zeta type functions is related to the Hurwitz zeta function, the alternating Hurwitz zeta function, and the Lerch zeta function. Furthermore, by using these functions, we derive some identities and combinatorial sums involving the Bernoulli numbers and polynomials and the Euler numbers and polynomials.

The main aim of this paper is to define and investigate a new class of symmetric beta type distributions with the help of the symmetric Bernstein-type basis functions. We give symmetry property of these distributions and the Bernstein-type basis functions. Using the Bernstein-type basis functions and binomial series, we give some series and integral representations including moment generating function for these distributions. Using generating functions and their functional equations, we also give many new identities related to the moments, the polygamma function, the digamma function, the harmonic numbers, the Stirling numbers, generalized harmonic numbers, the Lah numbers, the Bernstein-type basis functions, the array polynomials, and the Apostol–Bernoulli polynomials. Moreover, some numerical values of the expected values for the logarithm of random variable are given.

The aim of this paper is to study the Tepper identity, which is very important in number theory and combinatorial analysis. Using generating functions and compositions of generating functions, we derive many identities and relations associated with the Bernoulli numbers and polynomials, the Euler numbers and polynomials, and the Stirling numbers. Moreover, we give applications related to the Tepper identity and these numbers and polynomials.

The aim of this study was to define a new operator. This operator unify and modify many known operators, some of which were introduced by the author. Many properties of this operator are given. Using this operator, two new classes of special polynomials and numbers are defined. Many identities and relationships are derived, including these new numbers and polynomials, combinatorial sums, the Bernoulli numbers, the Euler numbers, the Stirling numbers, the Daehee numbers, and the Changhee numbers. By applying the derivative operator to these new polynomials, derivative formulas are found. Integral representations, including the Volkenborn integral, the fermionic p-adic integral, and the Riemann integral, are given for these new polynomials.

By using these generating functions with their functional and differential equations, we not only investigate properties of these new families, but also derive many new identities, relations, derivative formulas, and combinatorial sums with the inclusion of binomials coefficients, falling factorial, the Stirling numbers, the Bell polynomials (i.e., exponential polynomials), the Poisson−Charlier polynomials, combinatorial numbers and polynomials, the Bersntein basis functions, and the probability distribution functions. Furthermore, by applying the p-adic integrals and Riemann integral, we obtain some combinatorial sums including the binomial coefficients, falling factorial, the Bernoulli numbers, the Euler numbers, the Stirling numbers, the Bell polynomials (i.e., exponential polynomials), and the Cauchy numbers (or the Bernoulli numbers of the second kind). Finally, we give some remarks and observations on our results related to some probability distributions such as the binomial distribution and the Poisson distribution.

The purpose of this article is to construct generating functions for new families of special polynomials including two parametric kinds of Eulerian-type polynomials. Some fundamental properties of these functions are given. By using these generating functions and the Euler’s formula, some identities and relations among trigonometric functions, two parametric kinds of Eulerian-type polynomials, Apostol-type polynomials, the Stirling numbers and Fubini-type polynomials are presented. Computational formulae for these polynomials are obtained. Applying a partial derivative operator to these generating functions, some derivative formulae and finite combinatorial sums involving the aforementioned polynomials and numbers are also obtained. In addition, some remarks and observations on these polynomials are given.

In this paper, we define the generating functions for the generalized q-Stirling numbers of the second kind. By applying Mellin transform to these functions, we construct interpolation functions of these numbers at negative integers. We also derive some identities and relations related to q-Bernoulli numbers and polynomials and q-Stirling numbers of the second kind.

The aim of this paper is to construct generating functions, related to nonnegative real parameters, for q-Eulerian type polynomials and numbers (or q-Apostol type Frobenius–Euler polynomials and numbers). We derive some identities for these polynomials and numbers based on the generating functions and functional equations. We also give multiplication formula for the generalized Apostol type Frobenius–Euler polynomials.

In this paper, by applying umbral calculus methods to generating functions for the combinatorial numbers and the Apostol type polynomials and numbers of order k, we derive some identities and relations including the combinatorial numbers, the Apostol-Bernoulli polynomials and numbers of order k and the Apostol-Euler polynomials and numbers of order k. Moreover, by using p-adic integral technique, we also derive some combinatorial sums including the Bernoulli numbers, the Euler numbers, the Apostol-Euler numbers and the numbers y 1 n , k ; λ . Finally, we make some remarks and observations regarding these identities and relations.

The main object of this paper is to construct a new generating function of the (q-) Bernstein-type polynomials. We establish elementary properties of this function. By using this generating function, we derive recurrence relation and derivative of the (q-) Bernstein-type polynomials. We also give relations between the (q-) Bernstein-type polynomials, Hermite polynomials, Bernoulli polynomials of higher order, and the second-kind Stirling numbers. By applying Mellin transformation to this generating function, we define interpolation of the (q-) Bernstein-type polynomials. Moreover, we give some applications and questions on approximations of (q-) Bernstein-type polynomials, moments of some distributions in Statistics.

In (2006) and (2009), Kim defined new generating functions of the Genocchi, Nörlund-type q-Euler polynomials and their interpolation functions. In this paper, we give another definition of the multiple Hurwitz type q-zeta function. This function interpolates Nörlund-type q-Euler polynomials at negative integers. We also give some identities related to these polynomials and functions. Furthermore, we give some remarks about approximations of Bernoulli and Euler polynomials.

The main purpose of this paper is to study on generating functions of the q-Genocchi numbers and polynomials. We prove new relation for the generalized q-Genocchi numbers which is related to the q-Genocchi numbers and q-Bernoulli numbers. By applying Mellin transformation and derivative operator to the generating functions, we define q-Genocchi zeta and l-functions, which are interpolated q-Genocchi numbers and polynomials at negative integers. We also give some applications of generalized q-Genocchi numbers.

The aim of this paper, firstly, is to construct generating functions of q-Euler numbers and polynomials of higher order by applying the fermionic p-adic q-Volkenborn integral, secondly, to define multivariate q-Euler zeta function (Barnes-type Hurwitz q-Euler zeta function) and l-function which interpolate these numbers and polynomials at negative integers, respectively. We give relation between Barnes-type Hurwitz q-Euler zeta function and multivariate q-Euler l-function. Moreover, complete sums of products of these numbers and polynomials are found. We give some applications related to these numbers and functions as well.
