One of the most important factors affecting the long-term success of implant-supported prostheses is the adequate and appropriate form of hard and soft tissue. The immediate loading protocol aims to restore the lost aesthetics and function of the patient as quickly as possible. The emergence profile of the restorations is one of the important factors affecting the esthetics and long- term success of implant-supported prostheses. Today, individual healing caps and provisional restorations are frequently used in order to achieve an appropriate emergence profile. Proper transfer of the emergence profile to the impression is extremely important for the compatibility of the final restorations. However, the cylindrical structure of standard impression posts is not fully sufficient to reflect the emergence profile to the impression. In this case report, a provisional restoration was performed with an immediate loading protocol following the application of an implant to the patient’s missing tooth area. After 4 months of this procedure, the provisional restoration was copied and an individual impression post was produced. This individual impression post was used for the fabrication of the final restoration. Although different treatment protocols can be applied in different studies, the main purpose is to create an emergence profile close to natural teeth in implant supported prostheses and to produce final restorations in accordance with this emergence profile., İmplant destekli protezlerin uzun dönem başarısını etkileyen en önemli faktörlerden biri sert ve yumuşak dokunun yeterli miktarda ve uygun şekilde olmasıdır. İmmediat yükleme protokolü, hastanın kaybettiği estetik ve fonksiyonu en hızlı şekilde geri kazandırmayı amaçlamaktadır. Restorasyonların çıkış profili, implant üstü protezlerin estetiğini ve uzun dönem başarısını etkileyen önemli faktörlerden biridir. Günümüzde uygun bir çıkış profili yakalamak amacıyla kişiye özel iyileşme başlıkları ve geçici restorasyonlar sıklıkla kullanılmaktadır. Çıkış profilinin düzgün bir şekilde ölçüye aktarılması daimi protezin uyumlu olması için son derece önemlidir. Ancak standart ölçü postlarının silindirik yapısı çıkış profilini ölçüye yansıtmak için tam olarak yeterli değildir. Bu olgu sunumunda, hastanın diş eksikliği bulunan bölgesine implant uygulanmasını takiben immediat yükleme protokolü ile geçici restorasyon uygulanmıştır. Bu işlemden 4 ay sonra geçici restorasyon kopyalanıp bireysel ölçü postu üretilmiştir. Bu bireysel ölçü postu, daimi restorasyonun üretimi için kullanılmıştır. Birbirinden farklı çalışmalarda farklı tedavi protokolleri uygulanabilse de asıl amaç implant destekli protezlerde doğal dişlere yakın bir çıkış profili oluşturmak ve daimi protezleri bu çıkış profiline uygun şekilde üretebilmektir.

Aim: Observing the effects of caffeic acid phenethyl ester (CAPE) and/or low dose doxycycline (LDD) on total antioxidant and oxidant status of brain in experimental periodontitis is the purpose of the study. Methods: 48 male Wistar albino rats were designed as the following: control group (C, n=8), periodontitis + CAPE group (PC, n=10), periodontitis + LDD (PD, n=10), periodontitis + LDD + CAPE group (PCD, n=10), and periodontitis group (P, n=10). The time period for the experiment was 14 days. 10 µmol/kg/day of CAPE was administered using an intraperitoneal injection (IP). 10 mg/kg/day of LDD was administered using an oral gavage method. Histopathological changes were evaluated. Results: Beneficial results were seen in all of the groups after LDD and/or CAPE administration on decreasing the alveolar bone loss level and oxidative stress. All of the experimental groups showed signs of periodontitis with alveolar bone loss. The P group leads with the most alveolar bone loss compared to the other periodontitis groups and the lowest group was the PC group in the periodontitis groups. The evolution of alveolar bone loss from high to low was that group P, group PD, group PCD, group PC, and group C (P < 0.05). However, there is no statistical difference between brain total antioxidant status and brain total oxidant status average values according to brain groups (p > 0.05). Conclusion: The combination of LDD and CAPE are not significantly different when applied alone or together on oxidative status. But both of the agents have beneficial effects on reducing the oxidative stress and tissue damages.

Long-term hyperglycemia is related to micro and/or macrovascular complications in diabetes mellitus. The interrelationship between diabetes and periodontitis is bi-directional and inflammation is the common feature of both diseases. This study aimed to search the effects of the number of chronic vascular complications in type 2 diabetics on the amount of periodontal tissue destruction and the periodontal disease severity. This cross-sectional study included 127 individuals with type 2 diabetes who developed at least one diabetes-related chronic complication. The severity of periodontitis and the amount of gingival inflammation and periodontal tissue destruction between patients with several vascular complications were compared. We also compared the periodontal parameters and the severity of periodontitis according to glycemic control levels and in terms of the preŞence of macrovascular complications. All periodontal clinical parameters and periodontal disease severity were significantly higher in patients with 3 and 4 diabetic vascular complications than in patients with fewer complications. Amaç: Günümüzde diş çürüğü, periodontal hastalıklar, pulpal hastalıklar, travma, ortodontik ya da protetik restorasyonlar amacıyla dişlerin çekimi gerçekleştirilmektedir. Geçmişte dişsizlik yaşlılığın bir sonucu olarak görülse de artık bu durum değişmiştir. Hastalar sosyolojik, psikolojik, fonetik ve fonksiyona bağlı nedenlerle bu diş eksikliklerini kabullenmemekte ve yeni arayışlar içine girmektedir. Bu durum sonucunda dental implant yapımında ve talebinde artış meydana gelmektedir. Dental implantlara olan talebin artması implant çevresi doku hastalıklarının insidansındaki artışı beraberinde getirmiştir. Yapılan çalışmalarda kötü ağız bakımı, peri odontitis geçmişi, sigara kullanımı, kontrol altında olmayan sistemik hastalık, ağız içi bakım eksikliği gibi du rumların implant çevresi hastalıkların gelişiminde etkili olduğu belirtilmiştir. İmplant planlamasında panoromik ve konik ışınlı bilgisayarlı tomografinin birlikte kullanımı %53 bulunmuştur. İmplantın başarısı için en önemli faktörün yüzey özellikleri olduğunu düşünenlerin oranı %66 bulunmuştur. Periimplantitis için en önemli risk faktörünün implant-protez bağlantısı olduğunu düşünen hekimlerin oranı %73’tür. As a result of this, there is an increase in the production and demand of dental implants. The increase in the demand for dental implants has brought about an increase in the incidence of peri-implant tissue diseases. In studies, it has been stated that conditions such as poor oral care, periodontitis history, smoking, uncontrolled systemic disease, and lack of intraoral care are effective in the development of diseases around the implant. The aim of this study; The aim of this study is to evaluate the techniques used by physicians in implant applications, their treatment plans and solutions to the complications they experience. Methods: 234 dentists participated in this study and a questionnaire consisting of 30 questions about im plant applications and periimplantitis was applied. The technique, materials, planning, patient control and in formation about periimplantitis cases and treatment methods used in implant applications were questioned. Results: It was learned that 46% of the participants were 0-5 years old and 50% were general dentists. It was learned that 58% of the participants had implants for 0-5 years and 43% of them had less than 50 implants annually. The combined use of panoramic and computed tomography in implant planning was found to be 53%. The rate of those who think that the most important factor for the success of the implant is the sur face properties was found to be 66%. The rate of physicians who think that the most important risk factor for periimplantitis is the implant-prosthesis connection is 73%. In the treatment of periimplantitis, mechanical debridement and medication therapy were preferred together with a rate of 46%. Conclusion: In our study, it was observed that physicians chose different planning methods and treatment options. Although physicians' approaches to periimplantitis and treatment methods are different, it is seen that they generally focus on mechanical debridement. Background: In our study, we observed how periodontitis changes the vitamin E levels of the heart, liver and brain due to free radicals and their effects. The main problem of periodontitis is the increasing of free radicals and their subsequent metastatic impact on multiple organs via the bloodstream from the periodontium. Materials and methods: Two randomized groups were prepared between 18 Wistar albino rats. The rats weighed 200 ± 20 g and were male. Group C was the control group (n = 8) and group P was the periodontitis group (n = 10), induced using a 3-0 silk ligature at 14 days. The heart, liver and brain were dissected from the body to assess how they were affected by periodontitis. As such, we investigated the vitamin E levels and malondialdehyde (MDA) in the heart, liver and brain affected by experimental periodontitis. Results: Serious alveolar bone resorption was observed in the periodontitis group when compared to the control group. As an oxidative stressor, MDA levels were very high in the heart, liver and brain tissues of the periodontitis group. The antioxidant vitamin E showed decreasing potential, conversely to MDA. All of the results significantly differed (p ˂ 0.001).Conclusion: Periodontitis stimulates an oxidative stress attack in different organs in an experimental periodontitis model. The balance between oxidants and antioxidants is very important for health, though this balance might diminish in oxidants due to the oxidative attacks triggered by periodontitis. However, other scientific studies must be conducted to confirm this.

Bu tez tüketim kültürü kavramsallaştırmasına sosyolojik bir odaklanma aracılığıyla çöplerden tüketim kültürü analizi yapma girişimini içermektedir. Tüketim kültürünün sosyolojisini anlamlandırmak üzere, üretim biçimlerinin dönüşüm süreci, tüketim ve tüketim kültürü kavramlarının tarihsel ve teorik kökenleri sorgulanmıştır. Ayrıca Osmanlı'dan başlayarak tüketim kültürünün Türkiye'de nasıl yayıldığı sorusuna cevap aranmış ve devamında yaşam biçimleri ve tüketimin kent uzamındaki etkileri ilk bölümde dikkat çekilen gösterge değeri ve modern tüketim kavramları üzerinden tartışılmıştır. Pierre Bourdieu'nün alan, habitus ve simgesel sermaye kavramları ışığında adresin simgesel sermayeye dönüştüğü fikri benimsenmiştir. İkinci bölümün ardından araştırma evreni olarak seçilen Beşiktaş'ın simgesel sermaye birikimini sağlayan unsurlar tarihsel, ekonomik ve kültürel ayrımlar vesilesiyle tartışılmış Beşiktaş'ın simgesel sermaye mekânı olduğu düşüncesi en son 2015 yılında yapılan `İstanbul'da Yaşam Kalitesi Araştırması`na dayandırılmıştır. Çalışmanın son bölümünde yönteme katkı olarak henüz Türkçe literatüre girmemiş olan ve çöplerin analizine metodolojik açıdan önemli katkı sunduğu düşünülen garboloji/çöp arkeolojisi yöntemine değinilmiştir. Beşiktaş'ın Türkali mahallesinde yapılan çöp analiziyle bölgede yaşayanların Bourdieu'nün belirttiği `normların yerini stratejilerin aldığı` düşüncesine uygun sonuçlar elde edilmiştir. Transformation process of the manufacturing methods, historical and theoretical roots of consumption and the consumption culture were examined to interpret the sociology of the consumption culture. Also, starting with the Ottoman Empire, answers were sought for the question how the consumption culture expanded throughout Turkey, and then the effects of lifestyles and consumption with regard to the cities were discussed in terms of concepts of the indicator pointed out in the firsts section and the modern consumption. In the light of the concepts of place, habitus and symbolic capital by Pierre Bourdieu, the idea that the address has become a symbolic capital was adopted. Following the second section, the elements providing the symbolic capital stock of Beşiktaş, which was chosen as the population, were discussed by means of historical, economic and cultural divisions, and the idea that Beşiktaş is a place of symbolic capital was based on the research `Research on Life Quality in Istanbul` which was most recently completed in 2015. In the last section of the study, the method of garbology/garbage archeology, which hasn't been included in Turkish literature yet and considered to make methodologically significant contribution to the analysis of the garbage, was addressed. The garbage analysis of the Türkali neighborhood in Beşiktaş returned results in compliance with the idea that `norms were replaced by strategies` as indicated by Bourdieu, for the residents in the area. Ratlarda Oluşturulan Deneysel Periodontitis Modelinde Kafeik Asit Fenetil Ester ile Düşük Doz Doksisiklinin Oksidatif Stres, Sitokin ve Apoptozis Seviyeleri Üzerine Etkilerinin AraştırılmasıAmaç: Ratlarda oluşturulan deneysel periodontitis modelinde kafeik asit fenetil ester (KAFEE) ve/veya düşük doz doksisiklin (DDD) uygulamalarında alveolar kemik yıkımı, periodontal yıkımda öne çıkan sitokin ve enzim seviyeleri, oksidatif durum ile ilişkili belirteç seviyeleri ve gingival apoptozis seviyeleri karşılaştırmalı olarak değerlendirildi.Metodlar: Çalışmamızda 48 erkek Wistar rat kullanıldı ve rastgele 5 gruba ayrıldı: Kontrol grubu (K, n=8); Periodontitis+KAFEE grubu (PK, n=10), Periodontitis+DDD grubu (PD, n=10); Periodontitis+KAFEE+DDD grubu (PKD, n=10) ve Periodontitis grubu (P, n=10). Deneysel periodontitis ligatür ile 14 gün indüklendi. KAFEE 10 µmol/kg/gün, DDD 10 mg/kg/gün dozunda uygulandı. Alveolar kemik seviyesi histomorfometrik olarak analiz edildi. Serumda sitokin (interlökin [IL]-1β, IL-6, tümör nekroz faktör-alfa [TNF-α] ve IL-10), enzim (matriks metalloproteinaz (MMP)-1 ve MMP-8), oksidan ve antioksidan parametre seviyeleri (malondialdehid [MDA], glutatyon [GSH] ve glutatyon peroksidaz [GSH-Px]) belirlendi. Gingival apoptozis düzeyleri değerlendirildi. Sonuçlar: En yüksek sitokin, enzim, MDA ve gingival apoptozis seviyeleri alveolar kemik yıkımına paralel olarak P grubunda belirlendi. KAFEE ve/veya DDD'nin alveolar kemik yıkımını azatlığı görüldü. En düşük IL-1β, IL-6, MMP-8 ve TNF-α seviyeleri PK grubunda ölçüldü. MDA seviyeleri PK ve PKD gruplarında P grubuna kıyasla anlamlı şekilde düşüktü. En yüksek GSH-Px seviyeleri bu iki grupta belirlendi. Gingival apoptozis düzeyleri PK grubunda PKD, PD ve K gruplarına kıyasla daha düşükdü. The Evaulation of The Effects of Caffeic Acid Phenethyl Ester and Doxycycline on Oxidative Stress, Cytokines and Apoptosis Levels in Experimental Periodontitis Model in Rats Background: The aim of the present study was to evaluate the effects of CAPE and/or LDD administrations on alveolar bone loss, oxidative stress and gingival apoptosis in an experimental periodontitis rat model.Method: The animals were randomly divided into five groups: Control group (C, n=8), Periodontitis+CAPE group (PC, n=10), Periodontitis+LDD group (PD, n=10), Periodontitis+CAPE+LDD group (PCD, n=10), and Periodontitis group (P, n=10). Experimental periodontitis was induced in all groups for 14 days. CAPE 10 µmol/kg/day and LDD 10 mg/kg/day was administered. Alveolar bone loss (ABL), was analysed hystomorphometrically. Serum cytokines (interleukin [IL]-1 β, IL-6, tumor necrosis factor- alfa [TNF-α], and IL-10), enzymes (matrixmetalloproteinases [MMP]-1 and MMP-8), oxidant and antioxidant parameter levels (malondialdehyde [MDA], glutathione [GSH] and glutathione peroxidase [GSH-Px]) and gingival apoptosis levels were determined.Results: The highest cytokine, enzyme, MDA and gingival apoptosis levels, paralelly with ABL, were determined in the P group. CAPE and/or LDD reduced ABL. The lowest IL-1β, IL-6, MMP-8, and TNF-α levels were determined in the PC group. MDA levels were significantly lower in the PC and PCD groups than P group. And the highest GSH-Px levels were evaulated in these two groups. In the PC group, gingival apoptosis levels were lower than the PD and C groups.Conclusion: The present study suggested that CAPE has more antiinflammatory, antioxidant and antiapoptotic effects than LDD in ligature-induced periodontitis. Amaç: Ratlarda oluşturulan deneysel periodontitis modelinde kafeik asit fenetil ester (KAFEE) ve/veya düşük doz doksisiklin (DDD) uygulamalarında alveolar kemik yıkımı, periodontal yıkımda öne çıkan sitokin ve enzim seviyeleri, oksidatif durum ile ilişkili belirteç seviyeleri ve gingival apoptozis seviyeleri karşılaştırmalı olarak değerlendirildi.Metodlar: Çalışmamızda 48 erkek Wistar rat kullanıldı ve rastgele 5 gruba ayrıldı: Kontrol grubu (K, n=8); Periodontitis+KAFEE grubu (PK, n=10), Periodontitis+DDD grubu (PD, n=10); Periodontitis+KAFEE+DDD grubu (PKD, n=10) ve Periodontitis grubu (P, n=10). Deneysel periodontitis ligatür ile 14 gün indüklendi. KAFEE 10 μmol/kg/gün, DDD 10 mg/kg/gün dozunda uygulandı.Alveolar kemik seviyesi histomorfometrik olarak analiz edildi. Serumda sitokin (interlökin [IL]-1β, IL-6, tümör nekroz faktör-alfa [TNF-α] ve IL-10), enzim (matriks metalloproteinaz (MMP)-1 ve MMP-8), oksidan ve antioksidan parametre seviyeleri (malondialdehid [MDA], glutatyon [GSH] ve glutatyon peroksidaz [GSHPx]) belirlendi. Gingival apoptozis düzeyleri değerlendirildi.Sonuçlar: En yüksek sitokin, enzim, MDA ve gingival apoptozis seviyeleri alveolar kemik yıkımına paralel olarak P grubunda belirlendi. KAFEE ve/veya DDD‟nin alveolar kemik yıkımını azatlığı görüldü. En düşük IL-1β, IL-6, MMP-8 ve TNF-α seviyeleri PK grubunda ölçüldü. MDA seviyeleri PK ve PKD gruplarında P grubuna kıyasla anlamlı şekilde düşüktü. En yüksek GSH-Px seviyeleri bu iki grupta belirlendi. Gingival apoptozis düzeyleri PK grubunda PKD, PD ve K gruplarına kıyasla daha düşükdü.Tartışma: Antienflamatuvar, antioksidan ve antiapoptotik etkiler değerlendirildiğinde KAFEE‟nin DDD‟den daha üstün olduğu ve DDD-KAFEE kombinasyonunun ilave yarar göstermediği dikkat çekti. Anahtar Kelimeler: Alveolar kemik kaybı antioksidan; düşük doz doksisiklin; kafeik asit fenetil ester; oksidatif stres; periodontitis; sitokinler., Background: The aim of the present study was to evaluate the effects of CAPE and/or LDD administrations on alveolar bone loss, oxidative stress and gingival apoptosis in an experimental periodontitis rat model.Method: The animals were randomly divided into five groups: Control group (C, n=8), Periodontitis+CAPE group (PC, n=10), Periodontitis+LDD group (PD, n=10), Periodontitis+CAPE+LDD group (PCD, n=10), and Periodontitis group (P, n=10). Experimental periodontitis was induced in all groups for 14 days. CAPE 10 μmol/kg/day and LDD 10 mg/kg/day was administered. Alveolar bone loss (ABL), was analysed hystomorphometrically. Serum cytokines (interleukin [IL]-1 β, IL-6, tumor necrosis factor- alfa [TNF-α], and IL-10), enzymes (matrixmetalloproteinases [MMP]-1 and MMP-8), oxidant and antioxidant parameter levels (malondialdehyde [MDA], glutathione [GSH] and glutathione peroxidase [GSH-Px]) and gingival apoptosis levels were determined.Results: The highest cytokine, enzyme, MDA and gingival apoptosis levels, paralelly with ABL, were determined in the P group. CAPE and/or LDD reduced ABL. The lowest IL-1β, IL-6, MMP-8, and TNF-α levels were determined in the PC group. MDA levels were significantly lower in the PC and PCD groups than P group.And the highest GSH-Px levels were evaulated in these two groups. In the PC group, gingival apoptosis levels were lower than the PD and C groups.Conclusion: The present study suggested that CAPE has more antiinflammatory, antioxidant and antiapoptotic effects than LDD in ligature-induced periodontitis. And CAPE/LDD did not show any adjuntive benefits.
