AbstractThis study explores the role of mobility platforms in mitigating issues arising from information asymmetry about taxi services in South Korea. We employed conjoint analysis from a cognitive fit perspective and analyzed the marginal utilities of platform features using a mixed logit model. Our results show that platformization addresses negative experiences associated with information asymmetry and resolves long-standing problems associated with taxi services. Specifically, consumers prioritize information visualization and safety services, underscoring the platforms’ role in enhancing trust and safety as well as convenience. Despite the expansion into premium mobility experiences, the fundamental expectation from consumers remains access to reliable, safe services. This research contributes to understanding the impact of digital transformation on the mobility sector, emphasizing the need for strategic and policy interventions to leverage mobility platforms for improved service delivery. AbstractAdvances in information and communication technology have enabled teamwork in the online environment, and now online teamwork is an everyday encounter. Students start working in teams by contacting one another through online collaboration tools or instant messengers. However, online teamwork has a problem in which it is difficult to build relationships among team members. We conducted an experiment to identify the effects of a chatbot in messenger during online teamwork. Considering communication methods and interfaces, we divided the teamwork conditions into three cases: AI Assistant in Chatroom, AI Assistant on Web Page, and Search Engine. As a result of the analysis, we found significant differences between groups in perceived assistance in team processes and the assessment of team member effectiveness depending on the types of team methods with assistance. AbstractSince the launch of ChatGPT in November 2022, the number of services providing generative AI has been steadily increasing. As different services enter the market, the generative AI interfaces users experience become more diverse. However, none of the services has yet established itself as the dominant tool, and which interface component affects user preferences the most has yet to be identified. This study investigates user preferences based on the interface of generative AI services currently on the market. We investigated users’ preferred interface components by setting the output data type, generative style, output variation, reference style, and generation history provided by the current generative AI service as properties. We collected data from 500 users through a survey and conducted conjoint analysis. Users preferred the provision of 10 generation histories the most, and the second most preferred the provision of reference style in footnote format. In addition, it was found that there was no preference for the creative generative style, which can be interpreted as users being aware of the problem of hallucination in generative AI. Working hours have been discussed for over 150 years from a variety of perspectives such as worker health, corporate productivity, and job market stability. Despite extensive research in working hour reduction, there is limited evidence on the effect of hours worked by industry characteristics. This study examined the relationship between technical efficiency and working hours. For this, 514 Korean companies were divided into labour-intensive and knowledge-intensive industries, and changes in technical efficiency in each industry were investigated after implementing a working hour reduction policy. The efficiency of the labour-intensive industry improved after a reduction of working hours, whereas that of the knowledge-intensive industry decreased. These results imply that working hours should vary by industry. This study empirically illustrates the effect of reducing working hours and suggests practical guidelines for each country and company to increase technical efficiency by industry.
