Abstract

The NLRP3 inflammasome, a complex consisting of the nucleotide‐binding oligomerization domain, leucine‐rich repeat, and pyrin domain‐containing protein 3, has emerged as a critical mediator of pathological inflammation and a significant therapeutic target for various inflammatory diseases. Psoriasis, a chronic inflammatory skin condition without a definitive cure, has shown promising results in animal models through the inhibition of the NLRP3 inflammasome. This review aims to explore the development of the NLRP3 inflammasome in psoriasis and the molecular mechanisms responsible for its inhibition by natural products and small molecules currently being developed for psoriasis treatment. Furthermore, we are examining clinical trials using agents that block the NLRP3 pathway for the treatment of psoriasis. This study is timely to provide a new perspective on managing psoriasis. Abstract

The stem color of young mung bean is a very useful tool in germplasm identification. Flowering time and plant height (PH) are known to be strongly correlated with crop adaption and yield. However, few studies have focused on elucidating the genetic mechanisms that regulate these five particular traits: young stem color (YSC), days to first flowering (DFF), days to maturity (DM), PH, and nodes on main stem (NMS). In this study, a genetic linkage map for the F2 population was constructed using 129 InDel markers that were developed based on the sequence variations between parents. A total of 14 QTLs related to YSC, DFF, DM, PH, and NMS were detected. These QTLs were distributed on six chromosomes (1, 3, 4, 6, 7, and 10), which individually accounted for 1.32% to 90.07% of the total phenotypic variation. Using a short and high-density linkage map for the F3 population, six of the seven QTLs which clustered at two intervals on chromosomes 3 and 10 were detected again. Further analysis found that four QTLs between InDel markers R3-15 and R3-19 controlled DFF, DM, PH, and NMS, and each QTL accounted for a large percent of the total phenotypic variation. Analysis of two F2:3 lines also found that the phenotype was highly corresponded to its genotype which is between R3-15 and R3-19. Phenotype and genotype analysis for 30 mung bean accessions showed that the major effect QTL qDFF3 was a key regulator for days to DFF. Using a map-based cloning method, the major effect QTL qYSC4 for YSC was mapped in a 347 Kb interval on chromosome 4. Candidate gene analysis showed that sequence variations and expression level differences existed in the predicted candidate gene between the parents. These results provide a theoretical basis for cloning these QTLs and marker-assisted selection.

Abstract

Evolutionary digital filter (EDF) is an adaptive filter that controlled by adaptive algorithm based on the evolutionary strategies: cloning and mating. The adaptive algorithm of EDF exhibits the advantage of avoiding local optimum problems that arise from a multiple-peak performance surface of an adaptive noise cancellation (ANC) system. However, the convergence rate of the classic EDF is limited by inappropriate arrangement of evolutionary strategies and large population of individuals. In this paper, a new method referred to alternately evolutionary digital filter (AEDF) is proposed in order to solve the problem of lower convergence rate of the classic EDF. The basic concept of the proposed method is to alternately apply mating evolutionary strategy to locate the peaks in performance surface quickly and then apply cloning evolutionary strategy to get the global optimum near the peaks accurately. The convergence rate and noise cancellation performance of the proposed method is verified by both simulated signals and experimental signals. The results show that the proposed AEDF-based ANC method can effectively detect the gear tooth spalling faults in noisy environment and exhibits much faster convergence rate compared to previous methods.

16. Enlarging Surface/Bulk Ratios of NiO Nanoparticles toward High Utilization and Rate Capability for Supercapacitors

Abstract

Reasonable design and delicate control of microstructures are critical to achieve high energy density of active materials for pseudocapacitors that seriously depend on usable reaction interface. This work shows the effect of ultrasmall particle size on enhancing utilization and rate performance of active materials. Three types of NiO nanocrystals with different sizes of 3.36, 6.24, and 7.18 nm in average diameter are uniformly distributed on mesoporous carbon nanosheets derived from corn straw piths. The nanosheets with 3.36 nm NiO particles present an extremely high NiO utilization of 93.4% (2404 F g−1 at 0.5 A g−1), which is 2–2.5-fold higher than materials with large sizes (6.24 and 7.18 nm). This enhancement is ascribed to more complete conversion and higher ionic/electronic conductivity from a preferable surface/bulk ratio of NiO. By coupling with commercial activated carbon, the asymmetric supercapacitors present high energy and power densities (28.53 Wh kg−1 at 375 W kg−1), with 78.3% capacitance retention after 10 000 cycles at 10 A g−1.

Abstract

SPL is a Semantic Web services oriented programming language which is based on ontology and XML. At present, it is still devoid of a platform to edit SPL program, this paper provides a tool called SPL Editor for the development of semantic program on the base of SPL language standard, and shows how to use the tool through a travel booking case. It will be quick and convenient for the programmer to complete the development of semantic program in the support of this tool.
