20. LaDA: Latent Dialogue Action For Zero-shot Cross-lingual Neural Network Language Modeling

Abstract

Cross-lingual adaptation has proven effective in spoken language understanding (SLU) systems with limited resources. Existing methods are frequently unsatisfactory for intent detection and slot filling, particularly for distant languages that differ significantly from the source language in scripts, morphology, and syntax. Latent Dialogue Action (LaDA) layer is proposed to optimize decoding strategy in order to address the aforementioned issues. The model consists of an additional layer of latent dialogue action. It enables our model to improve a system's capability of handling conversations with complex multilingual intent and slot values of distant languages. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first exhaustive investigation of the use of latent variables for optimizing cross-lingual SLU policy during the decode stage. 29. GPER-mediated inhibition of astrocyte activation mitigates retinal neovascularization in oxygen-induced retinopathy mice

Abstract

Objective To investigate the mechanism by which G protein-coupled estrogen receptor (GPER) reduces retinal neovascularisation in oxygen-induced retinopathy (OIR) in newborn mice. Methods A total of 42 newborn mice were randomly divided into normoxic control group (n=11), OIR group (n=11), G-1(GPER agonist) group (n=10), and solvent control group (n=10).On postnatal day 17(P17), the distribution of GPER in the retina of mice in the normoxic control group was observed by immunofluorescence staining on frozen sections of the eyeballs.The mice of the G-1 group and solvent control group were given by intraperitoneal injection 50 μg/(kg·d) G-1 or corn oil solvent from P12 to P15.Immunofluorescence staining of retinal spreads at P17 was performed to observe the expression of retinal vascular marker IB4 and astrocyte marker glia fibrilary acidic protein (GFAP).Western blotting was used to quantify the expression of retinal vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGFA), GFAP, and inflammatory factors TNF-α, IGF-1, and IL1-β. Results GPER was present throughout the retina and co-stained with the astrocyte marker GFAP in the ganglion cell layer (GCL).Compared with the normoxic control group, the retinas of mice in the OIR group showed neovascular and avascular areas, and the expression of VEGFA and GFAP was significantly increased (P < 0.05).Compared with the solvent control group, the retinal neovascularisation was reduced in the G-1 group, and the expression levels of VEGFA, GFAP, TNF-α, IGF-1, and IL1-β proteins were decreased significantly (P < 0.05). Conclusion GPER inhibits astrocyte activity, reduces VEGFA expression and release of inflammatory factors, and then decreases retinal neovascularisation in OIR mice.

32. The Effects of Academic Self-Efficacy on Vocational Students Behavioral Engagement at School and at Firm Internships: A Model of Engagement-Value of Achievement Motivation

Abstract

There has been a marked increase in internship participation in recent decades. Many students who take cooperative programs consider internships to be the most appropriate entry point into their chosen careers. However, few studies have investigated factors related to internships from an engagement-value perspective that can influence the intention to continue doing internships with firms. This study concluded that academic self-efficacy was positively related to school and firm engagement; school engagement did not significantly relate to, but firm engagement did positively relate to the perceived usefulness of internships; and perceived usefulness of internships was positively related to intention to continue doing internships.

33. Development of 5 Cs Educational Value Scale for eSport Games

Abstract

With the growing popularity of eSport games, eSport-related issues have gradually gained attention and discussion in academic research. However, the positive benefits (values) brought by playing eSport have not received too much attention in current research. Therefore, after reviewing related research in the past, this study proposed that eSport has the 5 Cs educational Value of cultivating the cooperative attitude, communication skills, critical thinking, self-confidence and continuous improvement attitude based on the three-domain model (TDM) of cognitive, affective and psychomotor, and developed an eSport educational values scale. In this study, a conceptual sampling method was adopted and players with eSport experience were invited to fill out the questionnaire. A total of 316 participants filled out the questionnaire, 51 invalid samples were deleted, the number of effective participants was 265, and the effective recovery rate was 83.9%. Then SPSS 23.0 and AMOS 20.0 were used to analyze the reliability and validity of the scale, and the verification results show the scale developed by this study has good reliability and validity. In addition, in this study, it was also found that the participants had a positive view (M > 3.9) on the 5 Cs educational value of the MOBA type eSport, which shows that eSport is not only a casual game, moderate playing this game can also bring educational significance to players.
