Bu çalışmada, bir holoparazitik cins olan Cuscuta cinsinin Türkiye’deki mevcut taksonlarının ve dağılımlarının belirlenmesi ve bu taksonların çevresel ve sosyoekonomik etkilerinin tespiti amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaçla Türkiye'de Cuscuta taksonlarını içeren çalışmalardan ve Türkiye’deki herbaryum kayıtlarından kanıtlar elde edilmiştir. Ayrıca taksonların etki türleri incelenmiş ve bu taksonların bölgesel dağılımı Türkiye kareleme sistemine göre tespit edilmiştir. Tüm kayıtlar, özellikle sinonim kullanımı, Uluslararası Bitki Adı Endeksi (IPNI), Global Biyoçeşitlilik Bilgi Servisi (GBIF) ve Bitki Listesi (PL) dikkate alınarak düzenlenmiştir. Mevcut yeni tespitler ve kayıtlarda yapılan düzenlemeler dikkate alındığında; Türkiye’de Cuscuta cinsine bağlı 23 taksonunun varlığı tespit edilmiştir. Etki değerlendirmelerinde, tüm taksonların sahip olduğu “parazitizm” dışında, taksonlara göre değişen, toplam altı farklı etki tipi belirlenmiştir. Bu etki tipleri sırasıyla; toksik (6 takson), ürün kalitesi (5), vektör (3) ve birer taksonla yapısal, allelopatik ve etnobotanik etki olarak sıralanmıştır. Türkiye’de mevcut Cuscuta taksonlarına ait bilgilerin güncellenmesi ve etkilerin tespiti ile elde edilen sonuçlar; özellikle parazit bitkilerin istila potansiyelleri de dikkate alındığında, taksonların olumsuz etkilerini azaltmak ve biyolojik çeşitliliği korumak amacıyla gerekli önlem ve kontrol programlarını geliştirmek için kullanılabilir. Ayrıca Türkiye’de ilk kez tüm etki yönleriyle incelenen Cuscuta taksonlarından elde edilen bu veriler, farkındalık çalışmaları da dâhil, yapılabilecek yeni çalışmalara yön verilebilir ve kaynak sağlayabilir., This study aimed to fill data gaps (determination of available taxa and distribution) of the Cuscuta taxa, a holoparasitic genus, and are intended to define the environmental and socio-economic impacts in Turkey. For this, the evidence of Cuscuta taxa were obtained from studies, conducted on this genus in Turkey, and herbarium records of Turkey. Moreover, the impact types of taxa were examined, and the regional distribution of these taxa were detected based on grid system in Turkey. In addition, all records, in particular synonymous use, have been regulated taking into account the International Plant Name Index (IPNI), the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF) and The Plant List (PL). Considering the current arrangements and the newly identified records the presence of 23 Cuscuta taxa were identified in Turkey. In the impact assessments, apart from the parasitism in of all taxa, a total of six different impacts types have been detected that vary by taxa. These impact types are respectively as toxic (6 taxa), product quality (5), vector (3), structural (1), allelopathic (1) and ethnobotanic (1) impacts. The results can be used to mitigate the negative effects of Cuscuta taxa, and to develop the necessary precaution and control programs to preserve biodiversity, especially considering the infestation potential of parasitic plants. Moreover, the data obtained from this study, which is the first examination of all aspects of the impact types of Cuscuta taxa in Turkey, can provide a new direction and addition resource to the about parasitic plants studies, including awareness activities.

Düzce ilinde doğal olarak yayılış yapan Heracleum L. taksonları, taksonların bulunduğu habitat tipleri ve bu habitatların floristik kompozisyonunun araştırıldığı bu çalışma 2018 yılında yürütülmüştür. Arazi çalışmaları sonucunda Heracleum platytaenium ve Heracleum sphondylium ssp. ternatum olmak üzere Düzce’de iki farklı Heracleum taksonunun; tarımsal, şehir, kıyı, orman, riparian ve yapay habitatlar olmak üzere altı farklı habitatta yayılış yaptığı belirlenmiştir. Habitatlardan alınan örnek alanlarda Heracleum spp. ile birlikte yayılış yapan 48 familya ve 112 cinse ait 150 takson belirlenmiştir. Araştırma alanında tespit edilen 121 taksona (%80,66) ait fitocoğrafik bölgeler belirlenmiştir. Buna göre; 8 takson Öksin kesime ait olmak üzere 36 takson (%24) Avrupa-Sibirya, 17 takson (%11,33) Akdeniz ve 1 takson (%0,66) İran-Turan kökenlidir. Ayrıca 67 takson (%44,66) geniş yayılışa sahipken 29 takson (%19,33) ise çok bölgelidir veya fitocoğrafik bölgesi bilinmemektedir. Raunkiaer’in yaşam biçimlerine göre taksonlar incelendiğinde; 73 takson (%48,67) Hemikriptofit iken bunu sırasıyla; Terofit (48 takson - %32), Fanerofit (14 - %9,33), Kriptofit (10 - %6,67) ve Kamefit (5 - %3,33) bitkiler takip etmiştir. Son olarak taksonların habitatlara göre hangi bitki taksonları ile bir arada yaşadıkları ayrıca sunulmuştur. This research was done in Düzce during 2018 to study the taxa of naturally distributed Heracleum L., natural habitats of the taxa and floristic composition of the habitats. Results of the field study showed that two different taxa of Heracleum L. including Heracleum platytaenium and Heracleum sphondylium ssp. ternatum were determined in six different habitats such as agriculture, urban areas, coastal areas, forest, riparian and artificial habitats. From the samples collected from the habitats, it was determined that 150 taxa belonging to 48 families and 112 genera were present along with the Heracleum spp. The distribution of the taxa found in the study area was examined according to phytogeographical regions and as a result, regions belonging to 121 taxa (80.66%) were determined. According to this; 8 taxa belong to the Euxine province while 36 taxa (24%) are of Euro-Siberian, 17 taxa (11.33%) of Mediterranean and 1 taxon (0.66%) are of Iran-Turan origin. In addition, 67 taxa (44.66%) have a wide distribution, while 29 taxa (19.33%) are multi-regional or not known. When taxa are examined according to the Raunkiær plant life-form; 73 taxa (48.67%) are Hemicryptophytes while it is respectively followed by Therophytes (48 taxa - 32%), Phanerophytes (14 - 9.33%), Cryptophytes (10 - 6.67%) and Chamaephytes (5 - 3.33%). Finally, it is also presented that plant taxa living together with Heracleum spp. in their habitats.

Yüksek insan nüfusu ve geniş yaşam alanları ile kentsel ekosistem kapsamında değerlendirilebilen üniversite kampüsalanlarının flora ve fauna yapısının tespiti ilgili alanların biyolojik çeşitliliğinin belirlenmesi bakımından önemlidir. Ayrıcailgili türlerin belirlenmesi çevresel ve sosyo-ekonomik etkilerin değerlendirilmesine bir kaynak sağlar. Bu çalışma, 2018-2019 yılları arasında otsu bitki türlerinin belirlenmesi ve etkilerinin tanımlanması konusunda Türkiye-Düzce ilinde bulunanDüzce Üniversitesi Konuralp Merkez Kampüsü’nde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışmanın temel amacı, kampüs alanında bulunanotsu bitki türlerine karşı gerekli önlemlerin ve kontrol programlarının oluşturulması ve ilgili alanın biyolojik çeşitliliğininkorunması ve stratejilerin geliştirilmesi için bir kaynak yaratmaktır. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre; 27 familyadan 65 taksontespit edilmiştir. En fazla takson barındıran familyalar; Asteraceae, Poaceae, Fabaceae ve Cruciferae olarak sıralanmıştır.Taksonların yaşam süreleri incelendiğinde 33 takson tek yıllık, bir takson iki yıllık, 22 takson çok yıllık ve dokuz takson iseortak yaşam süresine sahiptir. Rastlanma sıklığına göre; Lamium purpureum ve Veronica persica % 84.4 ile en fazlarastlanılan türler olarak kaydedilmiştir. Bu türleri ise sırasıyla Anagallis monelli (% 81.2), Medicago arabica (% 72.0), Poabulbosa (% 72.0), Ranunculus repens (% 69.0), Plantago lanceolata (% 69.0), Conyza canadensis (% 66.0) ve Loliumperenne (% 66.0) takip etmiştir. Kampüs alanında belirlenen 65 taksonun farklı etki şekillerine sahip olması sonucu çevresel(68) ve sosyo-ekonomik (40) açıdan toplam 108 etki değerlendirilmiştir. En fazla etki şekli 34 taksonla güçlü üreme veyayılma etkisinde belirlenirken, bunu 26 takson ile peyzaj dokusuna etki takip etmiştir. Etki statüsü incelendiğinde ise 65olumsuz 43 olumlu etki tespit edilmiştir. Sonuçlar, kampüs alanlarında bulunan otsu bitki taksonlarının olumsuz etkileriniazaltmak için gerekli önlemlerin ve kontrol programlarının oluşturulmasına kaynak sağlayabilir. Ek olarak, olumlu etkilerive biyolojik çeşitliliği korumak için stratejiler geliştirilmesine yardımcı olabilir. Son olarak bu veriler gelecek yıllarda DüzceÜniversitesi yerleşke alanında otsu bitki taksonlarının değişimlerini izlemek için kullanılabilir. The determination of the flora and fauna structure of university campus areas, which can be evaluated within the scope of urban ecosystem with high human population and large living areas, is important in terms of determining the biological diversity of the related areas. Furthermore, the identification of the relevant species provides a resource for the assessment of environmental and socioeconomic impacts. This study was carried out between 2018-2019 on the determination of herbaceous plant species and their definition of impacts in Düzce University Konuralp Central campus, located in Düzce Province, Turkey. The main purpose of the study is to create a resource for the establishment of necessary measures and control programs against herbaceous plant species in the campus area and for the protection of the biological diversity and strategies of the relevant area. Based on the results, 65 taxa from 27 families were determined. The families with the most taxa were Asteraceae, Poaceae, Fabaceae and Cruciferae. When the lifetime of taxa is examined, 33 taxa have annual, one taxon has biennial, 22 taxa have perennial and nine taxa have common lifetime. According to the frequency of occurrence; Lamium purpureum and Veronica persica were the most common species with 84.4%. The species following were Anagallis monelli (81.2%), Medicago arabica (72%), Poa bulbosa (72%), Ranunculus repens (69%), Plantago lanceolata (69%), Conyza canadensis (66%) and Lolium perenne (66%), respectively. As a result of the 65 taxa identified in the campus area having different impact patterns, 108 impacts were evaluated in terms of environmental (68) and socioeconomic (40) aspects. While the most impact types were determined in the impact of strong reproduction and spreading with 34 taxa, this was followed by the impact on landscape texture with 26 taxa. When the impact statuses were examined, 65 negative and 43 positive impacts were detected. The results may provide resources for the establishment of necessary measures and control programs to reduce the negative effects of herbaceous plant taxa in campus areas. In addition, it can help develop strategies to preserve positive effects and biodiversity. Lastly, these data may be used to monitor herbaceous plant taxa changes in the campus area of Düzce University in the coming years.

WOS: 000496182800010 Weeds cause significant product and economic losses by causing direct (competitive elements such as plant nutrient, water, light, covering area) and / or indirect (host to diseases and pests) problems in crops areas. It can also cause environmental and socioeconomic impacts in different ways. In order to understand these impacts, this study was carried out between 2018-2019 in a fruit nursery field which is in the centre of Duzce province and produces certified seedlings. According to the results, 68 weed species (herbaceous / shrub) from 29 families were determined. The identified taxon were represented by Poaceae with 11 taxa and Asteraceae with 10 taxa, followed by Brassicaceae (6 taxa) and Fabaceae (5), respectively. While the majority of species are annual (34 species) and perennial (22), one taxa has biennial and 11 species have common life time. In terms of life form, 67 taxon are herbaceous and only one taxa (Rubus sp.) have shrub structure. The environmental and socioeconomic impacts caused by the identified species were evaluated as positive and negative impacts and the highest impact type was determined in 44 taxa which are included in the scope of environmental and socioeconomic impact. The results can be used to develop the necessary measures and control programs to reduce the negative impacts of weeds in nursery areas. In addition, it can provide awareness to preserve positive impacts and biodiversity.

Amaç: Yüksek rekabet gücüne sahip bitki türleri, çevresel değişimlerin de etkisiyle, mevcut kaynakların kullanımında önemli avantajlara sahiptir. Bu nedenle yüksek yayılım yeteneğine sahip olan türlerin rekabet yeteneklerine etki eden faktörlerin tespiti, bu türlerin yayılımını engellemek için kullanılabilecek stratejilerin belirlenmesinde önemli rol oynar. Bu çalışmada S. halepense ile Bromus japonicus (Japon bromu - BROJA), Salvia fruticosa (Anadolu adaçayı - SALFR), Festuca rubra var. rubra (rizomlu kırmızı yumak - FESRU) ve Festuca ovina (koyun yumağı - FESOV) arasındaki rekabet ilişkisi araştırılmıştır. Yöntem ve Bulgular: Rekabet denemeleri sterilize edilmiş 9 cm çapındaki petri kaplarında laboratuvar ortamında yürütülmüştür. Sonuçlara göre rekabet ilişkileri ölçülen; SORHA – BROJA, BROJA – SORHA, SORHA - FESOV ve FESOV- SORHA gövde ve kök uzunluklarının, SORHA – FESRU ve FESRU- SORHA arasında gövde ağırlıklarının, SORHA - SALFR ve SALFRSORHA arasında ise gövde uzunluklarının arasındaki fark türlerin kontrollerine göre önemlidir. Genel Yorum: Tüm türler arasındaki yüksek bir etkileşim mevcuttur. Bu durum seçilen türlerin tür kompozisyonlarında birbirlerinden ciddi oranda etkilenmelerinin zor olacağına işaret edebilir. In this study the competitive abilities of Sorghum halepense (Johnson grass - SORHA) with Bromus japonicus (Japanese brome - BROJA), Salvia fruticosa (Anadolu sage - SALFR), Festuca rubra var. rubra (red fescue - FESRU) or Festuca ovina (sheep fescue - FESRU) species was examined. Methods and Results: The competition trials were carried out in sterile 9 cm diameter petri dishes in laboratory. According to the results the competition relations were measured; the stem and root lengths of SORHA - BROJA, BROJA - SORHA, SORHA - FESOV and FESOV - SORHA, stem weights of SORHA - FESRU and FESRU - SORHA, and stem lengths of SORHA - SALFR and SALFR - SORHA differences are important compared to controls of these species. Conclusions: Interferences are high in the plant-plant relationship between all species. This may indicate that it will be difficult for the selected species to be significantly affected by each other in the species composition. Significance and Impact of the Study: Species with high competitiveness may show the ability to be the dominant species in their areas, which may significantly threat to biodiversity. Therefore, the data obtained from studies aimed at determining the competitiveness of strong plant species on each other can be used in management and / or precautionary studies that can be taken for saving biological diversity.

Bu çalışma ile Toros sediri (Cedrus libani A. Rich.) ve kızılçam (Pinus brutia Ten.) fidan üretim alanlarında sorun olan yabancı otlarile mücadelede herbisit ve solarizasyon uygulamalarının fidan gelişimlerine, fidan yaşama oranlarına ve fidanlık maliyetlerine etkileribelirlenmiştir. Araştırma Eğirdir ve Antalya Orman Fidanlıklarında gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışmalarda üç farklı etken maddeye sahipherbisitler ve solarizasyon uygulamaları yer almıştır. Uygulamalarınmaliyet analizleri aynı fidanlıklarda uygulanan mekanik mücadeleyöntemi ile karşılaştırılarak yapılmıştır. Herbisit uygulamaları sonucunda yabancı otlarda kontrol sağlanmış olsa da uygulamaların Torossediri ve kızılçam fidan gelişimi ve yaşam oranlarını düşürdüğü belirlenmiştir. Solarizasyon uygulaması ise yabancı otların örtme derecesini çok yüksek oranda etkilemezken, fidan gelişimi ve yaşamaoranlarında artış tespit edilmiştir. Maliyet analizi sonucunda ise herbisit uygulamalarının fidanlık maliyetlerini azalttığı belirlenmiştir.Çalışma genel olarak değerlendirildiğinde; orman fidanlıklarında yabancı otlardan kaynaklanan yüksek maliyet değerlerinin düşürülmesiiçin herbisit kullanımının ekonomik olacağı ancak bu aşamada fidansayısı ve gelişimi üzerindeki olumsuz etkilerinden dolayı bir öneride bulunulamayacağı sonucuna varılmıştır. Bu nedenle fidanlıklardaruhsatlı herbisitlerin kullanımına yönelik araştırmalara devam edilmesi gereklidir. In this work, the effects of herbicides and solarization on weeds at Taurus cedar (Cedrus libani A. Rich.) and Turkish red pine (Pinus brutia Ten.) seedling beds were observed, their effects on seedling emergences and growths were measured and they were assessed in terms of nursery costs. The studies were realized at Eğirdir and Antalya Forest Nurseries. The applications were carried out with three different herbicides including different active substances and solarization. Cost analysis of these applications were done by comparing them with the costs of mechanical treatments. Although herbicides generally affected the occurrence and coverage of weeds, the results were negative in terms of seedling emergences and growths of Taurus cedar and Turkish red pine seedlings. Solarization did not affect the coverage of weeds significantly whereas an increase at seedling emergence and growth was determined. In terms of cost analysis, it was seen that herbicide applications decrease the nursery costs. For a general assessment, to reduce the nursery costs, herbicide applications would be more economic than mechanical applications but at this stage it would not be possible to suggest any herbicide due to their negative effects on seedling survival and growth. At this context, researches with licensed herbicides should be increased to see their positive effects on seedling emergence and growth.

Doğal Bileşiklerin çevresel etkilerini belirlemek amacıyla yapılmış olan bu çalışmada; Origanumvulgare L., Lavandula angustifolia L. ve Rosmarinus officinalis L. bitkilerine ait uçucu yağların;Solanum lycopersicon L. (domates), Arachis hypogaea L. (yerfıstığı) ve Zea mays L. (mısır)bitkilerinin gelişimine olan etkisi incelenmiştir. Kullanılan uçucu yağların çıkış öncesi ve çıkışsonrası dönemde domates, mısır ve yerfıstığı bitkilerinde fitotoksisite oluşturduğu, ancak çıkış öncesidönemde yerfıstığında bu etkinin tüm uçucu yağlar için daha düşük bir düzeyde olduğu belirlenmiştir.Sonuçlar hatalı uygulanan sentetik herbisitler gibi tarım ürünlerinde doğal bileşiklerin zararlıetkilerinin olabileceğini göstermiştir., Considering the importance of environmental impacts, this research work focuses on the effects ofessential oils from plants including Origanum vulgare L., Lavandula angustifolia L. and Rosmarinusofficinalis L. on the growth of Solanum lycopersicum L., Arachis hypogaea L. and Zea mays L.According to results, the investigated essential oils (for both the pre- and post-emergence application)had phytotoxicity on tomatoes, maize and peanut. In the pre-emergence application of these essentialoils, the peanut had a much lower phytotoxicity. Results have shown that there may be detrimentaleffects of natural compounds in agriculture crop like incorrectly applied synthetic herbicides.

Kanyaş (Sorghum halepense (L.) Pers.) (SORHA) Poaceae familyasından çok yıllık ve rizomlu bir bitkidir. Oluşturduğu geniş rizom ağı ve yüksek tohum üretimi sebebi ile hayatiyetini uzun yıllar devam ettirebilme kapasitesindedir. Kanyaşın yüksek rekabet yeteneği de dikkate alındığında kontrol çalışmalarının biyolojik veriler ışığında oluşturulması önemlidir. Kanyaşın biyolojisine yönelik yapılan çalışmalar sonucunda; tohumlarında var olan dormansinin kırılmasında en iyi sonuç % 64.80 çimlenme oranıyla 75 saniye H2SO4 uygulamasından elde edilmiştir. Bu uygulamadan sonraki en iyi sonuç ise mekanik aşındırmadan (% 44.76) sağlanmıştır. Kanyaş tohum ve rizomlarının en düşük, en uygun ve yüksek çimlenme sıcaklıkları sırasıyla; 15°C, 25-30°C ve 40°C olarak belirlenmiştir. Tohumlarda en iyi çimlenme 10 cm (% 25.0) , rizomlarda en yüksek sürgün verme ise 5 cm (% 60.0) toprak derinliğinde olduğu belirlenmiştir. Belli aralıklar ile (12 saat aydınlık / 12 saat karanlık) ışık gören rizomlarda sürgün uzunluğu (71 mm) ve sürgün verme yüzdesi (% 56.66) devamlı karanlık ortama göre daha etkili bulunmuştur., Johnsongrass (Sorghum halepense (L.) Pers.) (SORHA) is a perennial weed that propagates with rhizomes in the family Poaceae. It can survive for a long time via its extensive rhizome system and high rate of seed production. Developing control strategies of the SORHA using its biological parameters is important when the high competitive ability of SORHA is considered. As a result of Johnsongrass biology studies, the highest seed germination rate, 64.8% was obtained from H2SO4 application for 75 s. The second highest germination ratio was observed in the treatments of the mechanical abrasion (44.76%). Minimum, optimum and maximum germination temperature of Johnsongrass seeds and rhizomes were 15°C, 25-30°C and 40°C, respectively. The highest germination percentage in seeds was observed from 10 cm depth with 25.0% while this percentage in rhizomes was 60% at 5 cm. The effect of balanced light period (12h light / 12h dark) on shoot length (71 mm) and seedling production ratio (56.66%) from rhizomes was higher than darkness.

İnsan beslenmesinde en önemli tahıllar arasında yer alan çeltik bitkisinin üretim süreci, verim ve kalitesini etkileyen temel problemlerden biri yabancı otlardır. Tarımsal üretim alanlarında yabancı otlardan kaynaklanan doğrudan veya dolaylı sorunların giderilebilmesi ve yönetim programlarının oluşturulabilmesine yönelik ilk adım ise üreticilerin sorunlarının bilinmesidir. Bu durum dikkate alınarak ele alınan çalışmada, çeltik üreticilerinin yabancı otlardan dolayı karşılaştıkları sorunları belirlemek amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaç için Marmara Bölgesi'nde bulunan Balıkesir iline bağlı Gönen ilçesindeki 100 çeltik üreticisi ile bir anket çalışması yürütülmüştür. Çeltik üreticilerinin demografik yapıları, en fazla karşılaştıkları yabancı ot taksonları, bu taksonların çevresel ve sosyoekonomik etkileri, mücadele yöntemleri, kimyasal mücadelenin uygulama esasları kapsamında hazırlanan anket ile üreticilere toplam 41 soru yöneltilmiştir. Sonuçlara göre, tüm katılımcılar tarım alanlarındaki ana zorluğun yabancı ot soruları olduğunu konusunda hemfikirdir. Ancak katılımcıların çoğunluğu (%82) Entegre Mücadele IPM kavramının ve uygulamasının ne olduğunu bilmemektedir. Ayrıca Diğer dikkat çeken cevaplar arasında yabancı otlar ile mücadelede sadece herbisit kullanması (%100), üreticilerin tek yıllık ekim nöbeti uygulaması yapmaması (%69) ve herbisit nöbetinin ise sadece %17 oranında yapılmasıdır. Bunların yanında, üreticilerin kullandığı herbisiti başkasına da tavsiye ettiği (%83) ve herbisit kullanım sıklığının (%88) etikette belirtilen dönemler dışında da uygulanmasına yönelik bulgular da dikkat çekicidir. Üreticilerin ilaçlama aletlerinin kalibrasyon uygulamasını bilmeleri (%100), büyük bir çoğunluğun herbisitlerin bekleme süresine uymaları (%63), herbisit uygulamasında dikkat edilecek hususları bilmeleri (%59) ve bilinmeyen bir herbisiti sadece tavsiye üzerine kullanmamaları (%57) olumlu bulgular olarak değerlendirilmiştir. Bu çalışma Balıkesir ili Gönen ilçesinde çeltik üretim alanlarında üreticilerinin yabancı otlar konusunda yaşadığı problemleri bir anket ile değerlendiren ilk çalışma niteliğindedir. Dolayısıyla burada elde edilen tüm veriler, öncelikle herbisitlerin etkisizliğinden yakınan bölge üreticileri olmak üzere tüm çeltik üreticilerine yönelik değerli katkılar sağlar. Ayrıca çeltik üretim alanlarında yabancı ot yönetim programlarının oluşturulması ve bu programların uygulamaya aktarılmasına yönelik veri boşluklarının kapatılmasına yön verebileceği düşünülmektedir. Son olarak, sonuçların çeltik üretiminin sürdürülebilirliği, üretim süreçlerindeki çevresel ve sosyoekonomik sorunların değerlendirilmesi ve herbisit dayanıklılığı gibi olumsuz etkilerin önlenmesi konularında farkındalık faaliyetlerinin yürütülmesi de dâhil yapılacak çalışmalara yönelik bir kaynak sağlaması beklenmektedir. Weeds are one of the main problems that affect the production process, yield, and quality of rice plant, which is among the most important grain crops in human nutrition. Identifying the challenges faced by rice producers is the first step towards eliminating the direct and indirect problems caused by weeds in agricultural production areas and designing sustainable management programs. Accordingly, this study aimed at determining the problems faced by rice producers due to weeds. For this purpose, a survey was conducted with the participation of 100 rice producers in the Gönen district of Balıkesir province in the Marmara Region. A formal questionnaire comprising 41 questions was prepared to collect information within the scope of the demographic structures of the rice producers, the weed taxa they encounter most, the environmental and socio-economic impacts of these taxa, the control methods, and the application principles of chemical control in weed management. According to the results, all participants agreed that weed problems were the main challenge in their farming areas. However, the majority of the participants (82%) did not know the concept and application of Integrated Pest Management (IPM). Other remarkable responses included that only herbicides are used in the management of weeds (100%), the producers apply a single annual crop rotation (69%), and that herbicide rotation is only done at a rate of 17%. In addition, the findings regarding the recommendation of herbicide use to other producers (83%) and the frequency of herbicide use being applied outside of the periods specified on the label (88%) are remarkable. It was regarded as positive findings that the producers knew the calibration application (100%), the majority of the respondents adhered to the waiting period of the herbicides (63%), they knew the conditions to be considered in the herbicide applications (59%), and that they not use an unknown herbicide only according to the recommendation (57%). This study is the first funding to evaluate the problems experienced by producers in the rice production areas of Gönen district of Balıkesir province with a questionnaire. Therefore, all the data obtained here can make valuable contributions to all rice producers, especially regional producers who complain about the ineffectiveness of herbicides. In addition, it can be used to closing the knowledge gaps regarding the creation of weed management programs in rice production areas and the implementation of these programs. Finally, In addition, the results can serve as a valuable resource for studies to be carried out within the scope of sustainability of rice production, the evaluation of environmental and socio-economic problems in the production processes, and the prevention of negative impacts such as the development of herbicide resistance.

YÖK Tez No: 650265 Biyolojik çeşitliliğin sürdürülmesinde en önemli doğal kaynaklar arasında yer alan mera alanları iklim değişikliği başta olmak üzere doğal ve antropojenik etkenlere bağlı olarak değişmektedir. Karşılaşılan doğal değişimler karşısında alınabilecek önlemler çok sınırlı olsa da antropojenik değişimleri yönetim altında tutmak mümkündür. Mera alanlarında antropojenik olumsuz etkenler içerisinde yer alan kaybının engellenmesi ve ayrıca istila potansiyeli yüksek bitkilerin mera bitki kompozisyonunu değiştirmesi en yüksek riskler arasında sayılabilir. Bu risklere karşı ilgili alanlarının korunması ve bitkisel çeşitliliğin gözetim alında tutulması gereklidir. Bunun için ilk önceliklerden biri mera alanlarındaki bitki kompozisyonunun bölgesel ve alt bölgesel çapta belirlenmesidir. Bu çalışmada; Düzce'de sürdürülebilir mera alanları için yapılabilecek mera ıslahı ve yönetimi çalışmalarına kaynak sağlayacak veriler elde etmek amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaç için Düzce ili merkez ilçe sınırları içerisinde yer alan mera alanlarında bitki türlerinin tespiti, tespit edilen türlerin potansiyel etkileri incelenmiş ve ayrıca mera kullanımında karşılaşılan olumsuz durumlar belirlenmiştir. Elde edilen veriler değerlendirildiğinde; Düzce ili merkez ilçe sınırlarında olan mera alanlarında 31 familyaya bağlı 133 taksonun varlığı tespit edilmiştir. Bu taksonlara ait familyalar dikkate alındığında Asteraceae 25 takson ile ilk sırada yer alırken bunu sırasıyla Poaceae (15) ve Fabaceae (11) familyaları takip etmiştir. Taksonların yaşam formları incelendiğinde; çok yıllık 56 takson ilk sırada yer alırken, tek yıllık 45, iki yıllık yedi ve çoklu yaşam formu sergileyen 25 takson belirlenmiştir. Tespit edilen 133 taksonun etki durumları toksik ve yaralanma + yün kalitesine etki yönü ile incelenmiş ve 72 taksonun ilgili etki durumlarını taşıdığı belirlenmiştir. Bu etki durumlarına göre; 29 takson yem değeri olmasına rağmen toksik, 25 takson toksik, 10 takson yaralanma + yün kalitesi ve 8 takson'da ise yaralanma + toksik etkilere sahiptir. Düzce merkez ilçe mera alanlarına yönelik veriler ilk kez bu çalışma ile belirlenmiştir. Dolayısıyla bu veriler hem bölgesel hem de Türkiye mera alan çalışmaları bakımından bilime ilk katkıyı sağlar. Pasture areas, which are among the most important natural resources in maintaining biological diversity, are constantly changing due to natural and anthropogenic factors, especially climate change. Although the measures that can be taken against the natural changes are very limited, it is possible to manage the anthropogenic changes. Preventing the loss, which is among the anthropogenic negative factors in pasture areas, and also changing the pasture plant composition of plants with high invasion potential can be considered among the highest risks. Against these risks, it is necessary to protect the relevant areas and keep the plant diversity under surveillance. For this, one of the first priorities is to determine the plant composition in pasture areas at regional and sub-regional level. In this study, it was aimed to obtain data that will provide a source for pasture improvement and management for pasture areas in Düzce. For this purpose, the determination of plant species in the pasture areas located within the borders of the central district of Düzce province, the potential effects of the identified species were examined and also the negative situations encountered in the use of pasture were determined. When the obtained data are evaluated; in the pasture areas within the borders of Düzce province central district, the existence of 133 taxa belonging to 31 families has been determined. Considering the families belonging to these taxa, Asteraceae ranks first with 25 taxa, followed by the families Poaceae (15) and Fabaceae (11), respectively. When the life forms of taxa are examined; while 56 taxa perennial took the first place, 45 taxa for one year, seven for two years and 25 taxa with multiple life forms were determined. The impacts of 133 taxa were investigated in terms of toxicity and injury + wool quality, and 72 taxa were found to have the relevant impact states. According to these impact conditions, 29 taxa have toxic impacts, although they have feed value, 25 taxa have toxic impacts, 10 taxa have injury + wool quality and 8 taxa have injury + toxic impacts. Thus, these data provide the first contribution to science in terms of pastures studies both regional and Turkey's.
