Objective: The issue of accessibility is more important in the selection of the location of health institutions where primary health care services are provided. In this study, it was aimed to obtain information about the experiences and experiences of family physicians during the establishment process of family health centers with zero population and no service building. Methods: The study is a qualitative research designed with a phenomenological approach. Data were collected through face-to-face interviews with 12 family physicians who settled in a total of 16 family medicine units in 5 family health centers with zero population and without a building within a 6-month period in Samsun province. Results: Family physicians thought that the 1-month period given to establish a family health center was too short. Family physicians stated that not every building in the desired region was suitable for a family health center. Financial expenditures were found to be one of the most challenging issues for family physicians. The interviewees mentioned the excitement of making a new start as the most important motivating factor. Other motivating factors included a new physical building, a new working environment, and getting to know new people. Conclusion: In terms of facilitating access to primary care services, it is important to establish FHCs without a population and service building. In the process of establishing a family health center, both the cost of building construction and the necessity of providing all the consumables required for the service by the family physician cause financial difficulties for family physicians. Objective: Drug use behavior directly affects the success of treatment. There are several factors that affect this behavior. This study aimed to identify the drug use behaviors of individuals and the factors affecting these behaviors. Methods: The study is cross-sectional, descriptive, and analytical. The study was conducted by applying a face-to-face questionnaire to the patients who accepted to participate in the study randomly among the patients who applied to the Ondokuz Mayıs University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Family Medicine Outpatient Clinic within a six-month period. The data obtained from the questionnaire were analyzed using the SPSS package program. Results: A total of 272 patients were included in the study. The mean age of the participants was 30.86±13.36 years. In case of illness, Family Health Centers were found to be the first place to be examined, with a rate of 47.4%. It was observed that patients who asked for a prescription for a drug for later use most frequently requested pain medication. Medicines are most often stored at room temperature. Gender and the presence of chronic disease have a significant effect on drug use behavior. Conclusion: Most of the participants have irrational and inappropriate drug use behaviors. Active involvement of primary health care services in the development of rational and appropriate drug use behavior will facilitate the achievement of the desired result. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: The COVID‐19 pandemic has adversely affected the physical and mental health of individuals. The elderly are a special group that is affected by this condition. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of the COVID‐19 pandemic on older adults in terms of disability, state–trait anxiety and life satisfaction. Methods: The population of this cross‐sectional study consisted of individuals aged 65 and over who presented to a family health centre in Samsun a province of Turkey on the Black Sea coast (N = 3950). The study data were collected with the following five forms: Personal Information Form, Quality of Life Questionnaire, State–Trait Anxiety Inventory, Brief Disability Questionnaire and Life Satisfaction Scale. In the analysis of the study data, descriptive statistics, Student's t‐test, paired t‐test, analysis of variance, Pearson correlation and multiple regression analysis were used. Results: The mean age of the participants was 70.88 ± 4.818 years. There was a significant difference between the participants' pre‐ and post‐pandemic health status and quality of life levels. In the study, a significant relationship was determined between the scores obtained from the State–Trait Anxiety Inventory, and the Brief Disability Questionnaire and between the scores obtained from the State–Trait Anxiety Inventory and the variables such as income and marital status (P < 0.05). Conclusion: A significant result of the study is that the older adults' perceptions of health status and quality of life were adversely affected by the pandemic. Another significant result is that disability increased the level of anxiety. The other significant result of the study is that socioeconomic status was an important determinant of anxiety. Objectives: Pregnancy is a period with physical, emotional and social consequences. These results can be positive, such as joy and happiness, or negative, such as stress and anxiety. Negative consequences can cause fear of childbirth. Materials and Methods: The study was carried out in Samsun Education and Research Hospital, Gynecology and Pediatrics service building. In order to observe the effects of pregnancy, pregnant women at the 28th week and above in the third trimester were included in the study. The data obtained with the questionnaire, including questions questioning demographic characteristics and the Wijma birth expectancy scale, were interpreted through the SPSS package program. The study was conducted from April 1 to June 15, 2021. Results: The study was conducted with 1116 pregnant women. The mean age of the pregnant women participating in the study was found to be 27,86±5,44. The mean number of pregnant follow-ups in family medicine during pregnancy was 4,47±2,72. The mean W-DEQ score of the pregnant women participating in the study was found to be 75.89±24,67. Of the pregnant women, 33.69% were pregnant for the first time, 41.67% of the participants had previous experience of normal delivery, and 27.69% of them had previous cesarean delivery experience. In terms of having given birth before, having experienced normal birth before, and having had a previous cesarean delivery, the W-DEQ score does not differ statistically. Conclusion: The fact that pregnancy is a planned and desired pregnancy has a very significant effect on fear of childbirth reveals the importance of issues such as family planning and pregnancy timing. In this respect, free, effective and easily accessible primary care service; is the most important health step where materials for both counseling and contraception can be obtained. Purpose: The aim of this study was to assessplatelet count, MPV and PDW as metabolic indicator in obese children with or without insuline resistances. Materials and Methods: Two hundered sixtyseven obese patients (160 female) and 50 (25 female) controls were enrolled. Anthropometric measurements, triglyceride, total cholesterol, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), uric acid, hemoglobin, platelet count, MPV, PDW and insulin resistance by using homeostasis model of assessment of insulin resistance (HOMA-IR) a nd o ral glucose tolerance test were investigated. Results: Uric acid level were significantly higher in the obese group while there was no statistically significantly differences in platelet indices between in the two groups. Platelet counts, MPV and PDW levels were not significantly different between in three groups. However MPV inversely correlated with HOMA-IR, platelet counts, ALT and LDL levels and positively correlated with PDW. Conclusion: The relationship between platelets, MPV, PDW has previously been demonstrated. However platelet indices may not to be related to degree of obesity as currently thought. Objectives: Home care services have started being served by the public level in 2010 in Samsun. In our study, we aimed to define the home care services and general profile of the registered patients to home care services units. Materials and Methods: The population of this descriptive study consists of individuals over the age of 16, registered to the home care services unit of Samsun Education and Research Hospital. Data were obtained from computer records. Results: 1995 patients have been reached since the home care services have started. 860 of these patients are still within home care services. The average age was 74.8±18.60 and 42.72% of participants were male, 57.38% female. 61.21% of the patients were bedridden. All of the patients had health insurance. The most common disease was cerebrovascular disease by 21.42%. The most frequently performed invasive procedure has been foley catheter. Conclusion: Socio‐demographic and illness characteristics of persons in home care services are different from the population of individuals in society. Considering the increasing elder population, it would be appropriate to provide more comprehensive public health services including home care services as well. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective: The aim of this research was to determine the effect of music on nonstress testing and pregnant women's satisfaction., Methods: The research, which was designed as a randomized controlled experimental study, was conducted between September 2021 and September 2022 at a training and research university hospital in the north of Turkey. The population of the research consisted of pregnant women who were requested to take a nonstress test, and the sample consisted of 111 pregnant women (music group: 56 and control group: 55). The pregnant women in the music group listened to classical music during the nonstress test, while no intervention was applied to those in the control group. Data were collected with a Descriptive Information Form, a Nonstress Test Form, and the Visual Analog Scale to evaluate satisfaction. Mann-Whitney U and chi-square test statistics were used for the statistical analysis of the data., Results: The mean basal fetal heart rate and count of fetal movements, the presence of acceleration, and the nonstress test results of the pregnant women in the music group were statistically significantly higher than those of the control group (p<0.05). Besides, a statistically significant difference was found between the groups in terms of mean satisfaction scores (p<0.05)., Conclusion: Listening to music during nonstress tests increases pregnant women's reactive nonstress test rates and satisfaction.
