Purpose: The present research aimed to define the knowledge level of cardiovascular disease risk factors and healthy lifestyle behaviors in menopausal women diagnosed with cardiovascular disease. Design: The sydy is Descriptive and cross-sectional and the data were collected between 15.06.2021 and 15.10.2021 in the Cardiology Polyclinic of one University Medical Faculty Hospital. study. Methods: A face-to-face survey was conducted with 138 women. Findings: The average age of the women was 65.9±8.9, and the majority was school graduates (65.2%) and married (77.5%) . The mean duration of cardiovascular disease diagnosis of the women was 12.9±8.4. Hypertension (79.7%) was the most common in women, followed by coronary artery disease (63.8%), hyperlipidemia (30.4%), chronic heart failure (15.2%) and arrhythmia (7.2%). It was determined that 45.7% of the women had a diagnosis of diabetes accompanying cardiovascular disease. Average age at marriage of women is 20.2±3.9, mean age at menarche is 13.5±1.5 amd menopause mean age was 47.9±4.6. The mean score of the HLBS II scale is 135.6±2. Non-smokers had significantly higher HLBS II nutrition sub-dimension scores (t=- 2.848, p=0.005). There was a strong linear relationship between the sub-dimensions of spiritual development and stress management and interpersonal relationships, and a moderate linear relationship between health responsibility, physical activity and nutrition (r=0.745, r=0.723, r=0.588, r=0.542, r, respectively). =0.531). Conclusion: Women's cardiovascular disease risk factors knowledge level is good. There is a significant difference in terms of their educational status and HLBS II scores and physical activity sub-dimension scores. Health professionals have an important role in increasing the knowledge of CVD risk factors in menopausal women. It is recommended that public health nurses and midwives have to raise awareness by informing women about CVD risk factors and healthy lifestyle behaviors, identify the difficulties that women experience in adapting to health promotion behaviors and discuss possible solutions. Background: Nausea and vomiting are among the most common medical problems during pregnancy, affecting 80% of mothers. Objectives: This study was conducted as a randomized controlled experimental study to determine the effect of acupressure applied by a wristband to the pericardium 6 (PC6) point on nausea and vomiting during pregnancy. Methods: The study population consisted of 74 pregnant women between 6-14 weeks of gestation who were experiencing nausea and vomiting. The study data was collected with personal information from the Pregnancy-Unique Quantification of Emesis Scale (PUQE). Experimental and control groups were selected by a simple random method. The experimental group wore acupressure wristbands for one week, while the control group did not use any method to alleviate nausea and vomiting. One week later, the PUQE scale was applied to both groups. Results: The acupressure wristbands decreased the nausea and vomiting scores of the pregnant women in the experimental group without statistical significance but did not change the nausea and vomiting scores of the pregnant women in the control group. Background: Teaching and evaluating fetal development are essential for evaluating maternal and fetal health in the midwifery profession. Objectives: The present study was carried out to examine the validity and reliability of the fetal Development Assessment Information Scale (FDAIS). Methods: The study data were collected online between March 25 and May 15, 2021, via social media accounts of midwifery students with convenience sampling. 410 midwifery students were included in the study. The data were analyzed using SPSS- AMOS software version 20, descriptive statistics (mean, standard deviation, frequency, and frequency percentage), Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA), and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA). The suitability of the data for factor analysis was investigated by the Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin coefficient and by Barlett’s test of sphericity. Results: The content validity index of the draft scale was 87%. Kaiser Meyer Olkin test value was 0.927, and the sample was found to be adequate and appropriate. Background: The research was carried out to examine the effect of a parenting preparation course given to midwifery students during an academic semester on the preferred mode of delivery, fear of childbirth, and traumatic birth perception. Methods: This was a quasi-experimental study with a pretest-posttest design that included 47 second-year students enrolled in the parenting preparation course. Students took the parenthood preparation course, 2 hours a week, for 14 weeks. Data were collected using a descriptive information form, the pre-pregnancy fear of birth scale, and the perception of traumatic birth scale. Paired t-test and chi-square test were used to evaluate intragroup and intergroup differences. The data were analyzed using SPSS 22.0 software at a statistical significance of 0.05. Results: The mean age of the students was 20.13±0.67 years. The mean score of pre-pregnancy fear of childbirth was 40.46±9.37 in the pretest and 23.61±6.79 in the posttest. In addition, the mean score of traumatic childbirth perception decreased from 77.34±25.15 in the pretest to 39.44±13.78 in the posttest. The number of students who preferred cesarean section decreased significantly, while the number of students who preferred vaginal delivery increased after the preparation course. Background: It is important to evaluate the students with valid and reliable methods after their birth education and to measure the effectiveness in determining their level of knowledge. Aim: The present study was carried out to complete the validity and reliability of the Labor Evolution Information Scale (LEIS). Materials and Methods: The study data were collected online between June 1 and September 10, 2021, through the social media accounts of midwifery students with the purposeful sampling method. Results: LEIS consists of two sub-dimensions with 25 items. It was determined that the reliability coefficient (Cronbach Alpha) of the scale was 0.87, the Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin (KMO) coefficient was 0.890, and the Bartlett Test of Sphericity was significant (χ2(231) =1898,073 p= 0.000). Conclusion: As a result of the analyses, the Labor Evaluation Information Scale (LEIS) was found to be valid and reliable as a measurement tool for undergraduate midwifery students in Turkey. It has been determined that the scale can be used in studies.

Ölçek ve alt boyutlarının cronbach alfa değeri 0.87-0.63, total ölçekte madde toplam korelasyon katsayıları 0.25-0.70, alt boyutlarda 0.41-0.74 arasında değiştiği saptandı. Background The Covid-19 pandemic has impacted compassion fatigue and the mental health of health care providers, particularly midwives and nurses. Although there are studies involving health workers such as nurses and physicians affected by the pandemic’s compassion fatigue, few studies include midwives. Research objective The present study seeks to investigate the effects of compassion fatigue experienced by midwives working under intense stress during the third wave of the COVID-19 pandemic on the level of moral sensitivity. Research design This is a descriptive-correlation study. Participants The statistical population consisted of all the midwives in Türkiye hospitals in 2021. This cross-sectional study was collected through a questionnaire using convenience sampling. Three hundred and ten midwives working in different units of the country participated in the study. Ethical considerations Approval from the researcher’s university Institutional Review Board for ethical review was obtained with the code of IRB 20/510. Findings The average age of the midwives is 34.29 ± 8.39. It has been noticed that 43.5% of the midwives work in public hospitals and 38.1% in family health and community health centers. Midwives’ mean MR-CS score is 67.11 ± 25.13, secondary trauma sub-dimension average 15.77 ± 6.23, and occupational burnout sub-dimension 40.69 ± 16.35. The mean moral sensitivity questionnaire score is determined as 93.86 ± 19.51. It has been observed that the working style and working time are effective on compassion fatigue. In the linear regression model, 98% of compassion fatigue was explained. Age, secondary trauma, and occupational burnout sub-dimensions affect the model. Discussion Working year, working style, second trauma, age, and occupational burnout parameters may help explain some of the links between midwives’ symptoms of compassion fatigue. Conclusion The pandemic affects the compassion fatigue of midwives. It is crucial to provide social support to midwives and health workers to prevent compassion fatigue and examine and control groups at risk in mental health.

Amaç: Çalışma, sanal gerçeklik gözlüğü ile izletilen videonun, kadınların algıladığı doğum ağrısına etkisini belirlemek amacıyla randomize kontrollü deneysel olarak yapıldı. Gereç-Yöntem: Araştırmanın örneklemini, bir eğitim araştırma hastanesinde Şubat 2017-Mayıs 2018 tarihleri arasında vajinal doğum için gelen ve araştırmaya katılmayı kabul eden, toplam 60 primipar gebe (30 deney, 30 kontrol grubu) oluşturdu. Araştırmaya başlanmadan önce kurum ve etik kurul izinleri alındı. Verilerilerin toplanmasında araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanan Gebe Tanıtıcı Bilgi Formu, Görsel Kıyaslama Ölçeği (GKÖ), Travay Takip Formu ve Sanal Gerçeklik Uygulamasından Memnuniyet Formu kullanıldı. Çalışmanın deney grubunda yer alan gebelere sanal gerçeklik gözlüğüyle doğum eyleminin aktif fazında (servikal dilatasyon 5-6 cm olduğunda) ve geçiş fazında (servikal dilatasyon 8-9 cm olduğunda) 5dk.dan az olmamak koşulu ile video izletildi. Kontrol grubunda yer alan gebelere rutin bakım dışında herhangi bir uygulama yapılmadı. Material and Method: The sample of the study consisted of a total of 60 primiparous pregnant women (30 in experimental group and 30 in control group) who came to a Training and Research Hospital in order to give birth via vaginal delivery between February 2017 and May 2018 and agreed to participate in the study. Before starting the study, the institutional permission and ethics committee approval were obtained. The data were collected by using Pregnant Introductory Information Form prepared by the researcher, Visual Analog Scale (VAS), Labor Observation Form and The Form for Satisfaction with Virtual Reality Application were used. The pregnant women in the experimental group watched the video via the virtual reality goggles in the active phase (when cervical dilation is 5-6 cm) of the labor and transition phase (when cervical dilatation is 8-9 cm) for minimum 5 minutes. Pregnant women in the control group did not receive any application other than routine care. In order to determine the pain level of the pregnant women, the visual analog scale was applied a total of 3 times including once before the application of Virtual Reality and two times after the application. The data obtained in the study were analyzed in the IBM SPSS V23. Shapiro Wilk was used to analyze whether or not the data were normally distributed. The level of significance was taken as p 0.05) between the groups in terms of duration of labor.Conclusion: It was determined that the application of virtual reality goggles decreased the labor pain and did not affect the duration of labor delivery. Background: The fatality attributed to pandemic influenza A H1N1 was not clear in the literature. We described the predictors for fatality related to pandemic influenza A H1N1 infection among hospitalized adult patients. Methods: This is a multicenter study performed during the pandemic influenza A H1N1 [A(H1N1) pdm09] outbreak which occurred in 2009 and 2010. Analysis was performed among laboratory confirmed patients. Multivariate analysis was performed for the predictors of fatality. Results: In the second wave of the pandemic, 848 adult patients were hospitalized because of suspected influenza, 45 out of 848 (5.3%) died, with 75% of fatalities occurring within the first 2 weeks of hospitalization. Among the 241 laboratory confirmed A(H1N1) pdm09 patients, the case fatality rate was 9%. In a multivariate logistic regression model that was performed for the fatalities within 14 days after admission, early use of neuraminidase inhibitors was found to be protective (Odds ratio: 0.17, confidence interval: 0.03-0.77, p = 0.022), nosocomial infections (OR: 5.7, CI: 1.84-18, p = 0.013), presence of malignant disease (OR: 3.8, CI: 0.66-22.01, p = 0.133) significantly increased the likelihood of fatality. Conclusions: Early detection of the infection, allowing opportunity for the early use of neuraminidase inhibitors, was found to be important for prevention of fatality. Nosocomial bacterial infections and underlying malignant diseases increased the rate of fatality.

Araştırma; eldeki LI4 noktasına uygulanan akupresürün, gebelerde algılanan doğum ağrısına etkisini belirlemek amacıyla randomize kontrollü deneysel bir çalışma olarak planlandı. Araştırmanın evrenini, T.C. Sağlık Bakanlığı Bağcılar Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesi Acil-Doğumhanesine, 1 Haziran- 30 Eylül 2012 tarihleri arasında, normal doğum yapmak için başvuran kadınlar (852 gebe) oluşturdu. Araştırmanın örneklemi; Number Cruncher Statistical System-Power Analysis and Sample Size (NCSS?PASS) Programı kullanılarak hesaplandı. Evreni temsil edecek örneklem hacmi=0,01 riski, %0,99 doğruluk oranı, p=0,05, 1-P=0,80 güç oranı koşulu ile Yıldız?ın (2003) çalışmasındaki VAS ortalama puanlarının karşılaştırılması sonuçları doğrultusunda, her bir grup için minimum 42 kişi olarak hesaplandı.
