Expanding edges in quantum Hall systems can become a simulator of quantum 1+1 dimensional expanding universes. In these systems, edge exciations are represented as a chiral scalar field in curved spacetimes. We investigate Hawking radiation and entanglement behavior predicted by this model assuming that the expansion law of the edge region corresponds to a de Sitter universe. As observable quantities for the quantum field, local spatial modes associated with detection regions are introduced using window functions for the field, and their correlations are evaluated. We found impact of Hawking radiation caused by the edge expansion on auto-correlation functions of the local modes, and confirmed that entanglement death due to Hawking radiation occurs. This study investigates the quantumness of gravity under the setup of the atomic interferometry from the viewpoint of mass-energy equivalence. We evaluated interference visibility considering a particle with internal energy levels in a harmonic trapping potential. As per the result, for a spatially superposed gravitational source mass, interference visibility exhibits collapse and revival behavior, which implies that an initial separable internal state evolves to the entangled state with respect to the degrees of freedom of the center of mass, the internal energy levels, and the external source state. In particular, it does not exhibit revival behavior when gravity is treated as a quantum interaction, while it revives with a finite period for a semiclassical treatment of gravity. We also examined the temporal behavior of entanglement negativity and found that the nonrevival behavior of visibility reflects the creation of the entanglement between the internal energy state and the external source state which is uniquely induced by the quantum interaction of gravity in accordance with the weak equivalence principle., 21 pages, accepted version in PRD

We consider conceptual issues of deep learning (DL) for metric detectors using test particle geodesics in curved spacetimes. Advantages of DL metric detectors are emphasized from a view point of general coordinate transformations. Two given metrics (two spacetimes) are defined to be conneted by a DL isometry if their geodesic image data cannot be discriminated by any DL metric detector at any time. The fundamental question of when the DL isometry appears is extensively explored. If the two spacetimes connected by the DL isometry are in superposition of quantum gravity theory, the post-measurement state may be still in the same superposition even after DL metric detectors observe the superposed state. We also demonstrate metric-detection DL's in 2+1 dimensional anti-de Sitter (AdS) spacetimes to estimate the cosmological constants and Brown-Henneaux charges. In the AdS/CFT correspondence dictionary, it may be expected that such metric detectors in the AdS bulk region correspond to quantum measurement devices in the CFT at the AdS boundary., 26 pages, 19 figures

Expanding edge experiments are promising to open new physics windows of quantum Hall systems. In a static edge, the edge excitation, which is described by free fields decoupled with the bulk dynamics, is gapless, and the dynamics preserve conformal symmetry. When the edge expands, such properties need not be preserved. We formulate a quantum field theory in 1+1 dimensional curved spacetimes to analyze the edge dynamics. We propose methods to address the following questions using edge waveforms from the expanding region: Does the conformal symmetry survive? Is the nonlinear interaction of the edge excitations induced by edge expansion? Do the edge excitations interact with the bulk excitations? We additionally show that the expanding edges can be regarded as expanding universe simulators of two-dimensional dilaton-gravity models, including the Jackiw-Teitelboim gravity model. As an application, we point out that our theoretical setup might simulate emission of analog Hawking radiation with the Gibbons-Hawking temperature from the future de Sitter horizon formed in the expanding edge region., Comment: A subtitle and arguments about Hawking radiation in de Sitter space are added

We investigate particle creation and entanglement structure in a dispersive model with subliminal dispersion relation. Assuming the step function spatial velocity profile of the background flow, mode functions for a massless scalar field is exactly obtained by the matching method. Power spectrums of created particles are calculated for the subsonic and the transsonic flow cases. For the transsonic case, the sonic horizon exists and created particles show the Planckian distribution for low frequency region but the thermal property disappears for high frequency region near the cutoff frequency introduced by the non-linear dispersion. For the subsonic case, although the sonic horizon does not exist, the effective group velocity horizon appears due to the non-linear dispersion for high frequency region and approximate thermal property of the power spectrum arises. We explore superradiance for Alfv\'en waves (Alfv\'enic superradiance) in an axisymmetric rotating magnetosphere of a Kerr black hole within the force-free approximation. On the equatorial plane of the Kerr spacetime, the Alfv\'en wave equation is reduced to a one-dimensional Schr\"{o}dinger-type equation by separating variables of the wave function and introducing a tortoise coordinate mapping the inner and outer light surfaces to $-\infty$ and $+\infty$, respectively, and we investigate a wave scattering problem for Alfv\'en waves. An analysis of the asymptotic solutions of the wave equation and the conservation of the Wronskian give the superradiant condition for Alfv\'en waves, and it will be shown that the condition coincides with that for the Blandford-Znajek process. This means that when Alfv\'enic superradiance occurs, the Blandford-Znajek process also occurs in the force-free magnetosphere. Then, we evaluate the reflection rate of Alfv\'en waves numerically and confirm that Alfv\'enic superradiance is indeed possible in the Kerr spacetime. We investigate entanglement of the Hawking radiation in a dispersive model with subluminal dispersion. In this model, feature of the Hawking radiation is represented by three mode Bogoliubov transformation connecting the in-vacuum state and the out-state. We obtain the exact form of the tripartite in-vacuum state which encodes structure of multipartite entanglement. Bogoliubov coefficients are computed by numerical calculation of the wave equation with subluminal dispersion and it is found that genuine tripartite entanglement persists in whole frequency range up to the cutoff arisen from the subluminal dispersion. In the low frequency region, amount of genuine tripartite entanglement is small compared to bipartite entanglement between the Hawking particle and its partner mode, and the deviation from the thermal spectrum is negligible. On the other hand, in the high frequency region near the cutoff, entanglement is equally shared by two pairs of three modes and the partner picture of the Hawking radiation does not hold., 24 pages, 18 figures, version to appear in Physical Review D

In this study, we determine a violation of the Leggett-Garg inequalities due to gravitational interaction in a hybrid system consisting of a harmonic oscillator and a spatially localized superposed particle. The violation of the Leggett-Garg inequalities is discussed using the two-time quasiprobability in connection with the entanglement negativity generated by gravitational interaction. It is demonstrated that the entanglement suppresses the violation of the Leggett-Garg inequalities when one of the two times of the quasiprobability t_1 is chosen as the initial time. Further, it is shown that the Leggett-Garg inequalities are generally violated due to gravitational interaction by properly choosing the configuration of the parameters, including t_1 and t_2, which are the times of the two-time quasiprobability. We investigate the wave optical imaging of black holes with Hawking radiation. The spatial correlation function of Hawking radiation is expressed in terms of transmission and reflection coefficients for scalar wave modes and evaluated by numerically summing over angular quantum numbers for the Unruh-Hawking state of the Kerr-de Sitter black hole. Then, wave optical images of an evaporating black hole are obtained by the Fourier transformation of the spatial correlation function. For short wavelength, the image of the black hole with the outgoing mode of the Unruh-Hawking state has the appearance of a star with its surface given by the photon sphere. It is found that interference between incoming modes from the cosmological horizon and reflected modes due to the scattering of the black hole can enhance brightness of images in the vicinity of the photon sphere. The superradiant scattering of Alfv\'en waves (Alfv\'enic superradiance) in a forcefree magnetosphere is discussed to reveal the relationship between the Blandford-Znajek (BZ) process and superradiance. For simplicity, we consider a four-dimensional rotating black string spacetime of which each $z=\text{const}$ slice is a Ba\~nados-Teitelboim-Zanelli solution as an analogy of the equatorial plane of the Kerr spacetime. Then, it is confirmed that the condition for Alfv\'enic superradiance coincides with that for the BZ process, and the wave amplification can be very large due to a resonant scattering for some parameter sets of the wave frequency and the angular velocity of the magnetic field line. We investigate the wave optics in spherically symmetric spacetimes: Schwarzschild black hole, spherical star with a perfect absorbing surface, and massless/massive Ellis wormholes. Assuming a point wave source, wave pattern and power spectrums for scattering waves are obtained by solving the scalar wave equation numerically. We consider the conditioning of the timeless solution to the Wheeler&ndash, DeWitt equation by a predefined matter clock state in the simple scenario of an FLRW universe. The resulting evolution of the geometrodynamical degree of freedom with respect to clock time is characterized by the &ldquo, Berry connection&rdquo, of the reduced geometrodynamical space, which relies on the coupling of the clock with the geometry. When the connection vanishes, the standard Schr&ouml, dinger equation is obtained for the geometry with respect to clock time. When one considers environment-induced decoherence in the semiclassical limit, this condition is satisfied, and clock time coincides with cosmic time. Explicit results for the conditioned wave functions for minimal clocks made up of two quantum harmonic oscillator eigenstates are shown.

We investigate quantum correlations appearing for two qubit detectors which are initially uncorrelated and locally coupled to a massless scalar field in a vacuum state. Under the perturbation up to the second order in the coupling, the state of the detectors can be entangled through the interaction with the scalar field but satisfies the Bell-CHSH inequality. The violation of the Bell-CHSH inequality for such an entangled state is revealed by local filtering operations. In this paper, we construct the optimal filtering operations for the qubit detectors and derive the success probability of the filtering. The success probability characterizes the reliability of revealing the violation of the Bell-CHSH inequality by the filtering operations. Through these analyses, we demonstrate a trade-off relation between the success probability and the size of parameter region showing the violation of the Bell-CHSH inequality., 26 pages, 10 figures

We consider a quantum circuit model describing the evaporation process of black holes. We specifically examine the behavior of the multipartite entanglement represented by this model, and find that the entanglement structure depends on the black hole mass $M$ and the frequency of the Hawking radiation $\omega$. For sufficiently small values of $M\omega$, the black hole and the radiation system becomes a separable state after the Page time and a firewall-like structure appears. On the contrary, for larger values of $M\omega$, the entanglement between the black hole and the radiation is not lost. These behaviors imply that owing to the monogamy property of the multipartite entanglement, low frequency modes of the Hawking radiation destroys the quantum correlation between the black hole and the emitted Hawking radiation., Comment: 26 pages, accepted version in CQG

We consider the superposition of two semiclassical solutions of the Wheeler&ndash, DeWitt equation for a de Sitter universe, describing a quantized scalar vacuum propagating in a universe that is contracting in one case and expanding in the other, each identifying the opposite cosmological arrow of time. We discuss the suppression of the interference terms between the two arrows of time due to environment-induced decoherence caused by modes of the scalar vacuum crossing the Hubble horizon. Furthermore, we quantify the effect of the interference on the expectation value of the observable field mode correlations, with respect to an observer that we identify with the spatial geometry.

We investigate quantum entanglement between two symmetric spatialregions in de Sitter space with the Bunch-Davies vacuum. As a discretized model of the scalar field for numerical simulation, we consider a harmonic chain model. Using the coarse-grained variables for the scalar field, it is shown that the multipartite entanglement on the superhorizon scale exists by checking the monogamy relation for the negativity which quantifies the entanglement between the two regions. Further, we consider the continuous limit of this model without coarse-graining and find that non-zero values of the logarithmic negativity exist even if the distance between two spatial regions is larger than the Hubble horizon scale., 20 pages, 11 figures

We propose a model with multiple qubits that reproduces the thermal properties of 4-dimensional (4-dim) Schwarzschild black holes (BHs) by simultaneously taking account of the emission of Hawking particles and the zero-energy soft hair evaporation at horizon. The results verify that the entanglement entropy between a qubit and other subsystems, including emitted radiation, is much larger than the BH entropy analogue of the qubit, as opposed to the Page curve prediction. Our result suggests that early Hawking radiation is entangled with soft hair, and that late Hawking radiation can be highly entangled with the degrees of freedom of BH, avoiding the emergence of a firewall at the horizon., 10pages, 3 figures

We present a model of the analog geometry in a magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) flow. For the MHD flow with magnetic pressure-dominated and gas pressure-dominated conditions, we obtain the magnetoacoustic metric for the fast MHD mode. For the slow MHD mode, on the other hand, the wave is governed by the advective-type equation without an isotropic dispersion term. Thus, the "distance" perpendicular to the wave propagation is not defined and the magnetoacoustic metric cannot be introduced. To investigate the properties of the magnetoacoustic geometry for the fast mode, we prepare a two-dimensional axisymmetric inflow and examine the behavior of magnetoacoustic rays which is a counterpart of the MHD waves in the eikonal limit. We find that the magnetoacoustic geometry is classified into three types depending on two parameters characterizing the background flow:~analog spacetimes of rotating black holes, ultra spinning stars with ergoregions, and spinning stars without ergoregions. We apply the master equation with dynamical coarse graining approximation to a pair of detectors interacting with a scalar field. By solving the master equation numerically, we investigate evolution of negativity between comoving detectors in de Sitter space. For the massless conformal scalar field, it is found that a pair of detectors can perceive entanglement beyond the Hubble horizon scale if the initial separation of detectors is sufficiently small. At the same time, violation of the Bell-CHSH inequality on the super horizon scale is also detected. Motivated by the inverse problem for the Lemaitre-Tolman-Bondi dust solution, in which problem the luminosity distance function $D_L(z)$ is taken as an input to select a specific model, we compute the function $D_L(z)$ of the LTB solution up to the third order of $z$. To perform the otherwise cumbersome computation, we introduce a new convenient form of the LTB solution, in which the solution is explicit and unified. With this form of the LTB solution we obtain the luminosity distance function with the full generality. We test the validity of Isaacson's formula which states that high frequency and low amplitude gravitational waves behave as a radiation fluid on average. For this purpose, we numerically construct a solution of the vacuum Einstein equations which contains nonlinear standing gravitational waves. The solution is constructed in a cubic box with periodic boundary conditions. The time evolution is solved in a gauge in which the trace of the extrinsic curvature $K$ of the time slice becomes spatially uniform. Then, the Hubble expansion rate $H$ is defined by $H=-K/3$ and compared with the effective scale factor $L$ defined by the proper volume, area and length of the cubic box. We find that, even when the wave length of the gravitational waves is comparable to the Hubble scale, the deviation from Isaacson's formula $H\propto L^{-2}$ is at most 3\% without taking a temporal average and is below 0.1\% with a temporal average., Comment: 25 pages, 25 figures

We investigate the instability of charged massive scalar fields in Kerr-Newman spacetime. Due to the super-radiant effect of the background geometry, the bound state of the scalar field is unstable, and its amplitude grows in time. By solving the Klein-Gordon equation of the scalar field as an eigenvalue problem, we numerically obtain the growth rate of the amplitude of the scalar field. Although the dependence of the scalar field mass and the scalar field charge on this growth rate agrees with the result of the analytic approximation, the maximum value of the growth rate is three times larger than that of the analytic approximation. The so-called black hole shadow is a dark region which is expected to appear in a fine image of optical observation of black holes. It is essentially an absorption cross section of black hole, and the boundary of shadow is determined by unstable circular orbits of photons (UCOP). If there exists a compact object possessing UCOP but no black hole horizon, it can provide us with the same shadow image with black holes, and a detection of shadow image cannot be a direct evidence of black hole existence. Then, this paper examine whether or not such compact objects can exist under some suitable conditions. We investigate thoroughly the static spherical polytropic ball of perfect fluid with single polytrope index, and then investigate a representative example of the piecewise polytropic ball. Our result is that the spherical polytropic ball which we have investigated cannot possess UCOP, if the sound speed at center is subluminal (slower-than-light). This means that, if the polytrope treated in this paper is a good model of stellar matter in compact objects, the detection of shadow image is regarded as a good evidence of black hole existence. As a by-product, we have found the upper bound of the mass-to-radius radio (M/R) of polytropic ball with single index, M/R < 0.281, under the subluminal-sound-speed condition., Some analysis of core-envelope type polytrope is added in this version. Vacuum polarization of massive scalar fields in a thermal state at arbitrary temperature is studied near the horizon of a Reissner-Nordstr\"{o}m black hole. We derived an analytic form of $$ approximately in the large mass limit near the black hole horizon. We uses the zeroth order WKB approximation and power series expansion near the horizon for the Euclideanized mode function. Our formula for the vacuum polarization shows regular behavior on the horizon if the temperature of the scalar field is equal to the Hawking temperature of the black hole. We investigate gauge invariant cosmological perturbations in a spatially flat Friedman-Robertson-Walker universe with scalar fields. It is well known that the evolution equation for the gauge invariant quantities has exact solutions in the long-wavelength limit. We find that these gauge invariant solutions can be obtained by differentiating the background solution with respect to parameters contained in the background system. We study scattering of waves by black holes. Solving a massless scalar field with a point source in the Schwarzschild spacetime, waves scattered by the black hole is obtained numerically. We then reconstruct images of the black hole from scattered wave data for specified scattering angles. One of the main interest in quantum cosmology is to determine boundary conditions for the wave function of the universe which can predict observational data of our universe. For this purpose, we solve the Wheeler-DeWitt equation for a closed universe with a scalar field numerically and evaluate probabilities for boundary conditions of the wave function of the universe. To impose boundary conditions of the wave function, we use exact solutions of the Wheeler-DeWitt equation with a constant scalar field potential. These exact solutions include wave functions with well known boundary condition proposals, the no-boundary proposal and the tunneling proposal. We specify the exact solutions by introducing two real parameters to discriminate boundary conditions, and obtain the probability for these parameters under the requirement of sufficient e-foldings of the inflation. The probability distribution of boundary conditions prefers the tunneling boundary condition to the no-boundary boundary condition. Furthermore, for large values of a model parameter related to the inflaton mass and the cosmological constant, the probability of boundary conditions selects an unique boundary condition different from the tunneling type., Comment: 26 pages, published version in General Relativity and Gravitation

We present a derivation of the Markovian master equation by the renormalization group method. Starting from a naive perturbative solution of the von Neumann equation, the reduced density matrix with the coarse grained time steps is obtained using the assumption of short correlation time of the bath field. We investigate the wave optics in the Schwarzschild spacetime. Applying the standard formalism of wave scattering problems, the Green function represented by the sum over the partial waves is evaluated using the Poisson sum formula. The effect of orbiting scattering due to the unstable circular orbit for null rays is taken into account as the contribution of the Regge poles of the scattering matrix and the asymptotic form of the scattering wave is obtained in the eikonal limit. Using this wave function, images of the black hole illuminated by a point source are reconstructed. We investigate classical and quantum correlations of a quantum field in the inflationary universe using a particle detector model. By considering the entanglement and correlations between two comoving detectors interacting with a scalar field, we find that the entanglement between the detectors becomes zero after their physical separation exceeds the Hubble horizon. Furthermore, the quantum discord, which is defined as the quantum part of total correlation, approaches zero on super horizon scale. Quantum-classical transition of density fluctuation in an inflationary model is studied. As the environment, short wave length mode of the scalar field is taken. A protocol of quantum energy teleportation is proposed for a one-dimensional harmonic chain. A coherent-state POVM measurement is performed to coupled oscillators of the chain in the ground state accompanied by energy infusion to the system. This measurement consumes a part of ground state entanglement. Depending on the measurement result, a displacement operation is performed on a distant oscillator accompanied by energy extraction from the zero-point fluctuation of the oscillator. Considering gravitational collapse of matter, it is important problem to clarify what kind of conditions leads to the formation of naked singularity. For this purpose, we apply the 1+3 orthonormal frame formalism introduced by Uggla \textit{et al.} to spherically symmetric gravitational collapse of perfect fluid. This formalism allows us to construct an autonomous system of evolution and constraint equations for scale-invariant dynamical variables normalized by the volume expansion rate of the timelike orthonormal frame vector. We investigate the asymptotic evolution of such dynamical variables towards the formation of a central singularity and present a conjecture that the steep spatial gradient for the normalized density function is a characteristic of the naked singularity formation., Version published in PRD

We investigate quantum entanglement of a scalar field in the inflationary universe. By introducing a bipartite system using a lattice model of scalar field, we apply the separability criterion based on the partial transpose operation and numerically calculate the bipartite entanglement between separate spatial regions. We find that the initial entangled state becomes separable or dis-entangled when the size of the spatial regions exceed the Hubble horizon. This is necessary condition for the appearance of classicality of the quantum fluctuation. It is commonly believed that cosmological objects such as galaxies were formed through gravitational instability of initially small density fluctuations. One of the great successes of the inflationary universe scenario is that it has a possibility to explain the origin of these initial fluctuations naturally by quantum fluctuations of the scalar field which drives inflation.

Buchdahl obtained $B = 4/9$ under the assumptions; non-increasing mass density in outward direction, and barotropic equation of states. Barraco and Hamity decreased the Buchdahl's bound to a lower value $B = 3/8$ $(< 4/9)$ by adding the dominant energy condition to Buchdahl's assumptions. In this paper, we further decrease the Barraco-Hamity's bound to $B \simeq 0.3636403$ $(< 3/8)$ by adding the subluminal (slower-than-light) condition of sound speed. In our analysis, we solve numerically Tolman-Oppenheimer-Volkoff equations, and the mass-to-radius ratio is maximized by variation of mass, radius and pressure inside the fluid ball as functions of mass density., 14pages, 3figures. If expanding and contracting regions coexist in the universe, the speed of the cosmic volume expansion can be accelerated. We construct simple inhomogeneous dust-filled universe models in which the speed of the cosmic volume expansion is accelerated for finite periods. These models are constructed by removing spherical domains from the Einstein-de Sitter universe and filling each domain with a Lemaitre-Tolman-Bondi dust sphere possessing the same gravitational mass as the removed region. This represents an exact solution of the Einstein equations. We find that acceleration of the cosmic volume expansion is realized in some cases when the size of the contracting region is comparable to the horizon radius of the Einstein-de Sitter universe though this model is very different from the universe observed today. This result implies that non-linear general relativistic effects of inhomogeneities are very important to realize the acceleration of the cosmic volume expansion., 12 pages,5 figures. version published in Progress of Theoretical Physics
