This research investigates the views of the resettled people regarding the practice of resettlement and compensation (RCP) to assess the developmental progress of the Tha Htay hydropower (THH) project and establish a resettlement relationship from various perspectives. In this paper, a convergent mixed research method was used for interpretations and analyses of the whole resettlement and compensation practice. Descriptive statistics were utilized to analyze the collected data on the resettlement practices of those participants who presented it by frequency and percentage of quantitative findings. The study revealed that educational facilities and development received the highest average rating from the participants, indicating a higher level of satisfaction. On the other hand, the current living situation and job opportunities received the lowest rating, indicating lower satisfaction in this aspect. Overall, the respondents expressed satisfaction with other indicators of the resettlement process, such as site selection, housing, compensation, and fundamental infrastructure services. Despite receiving foreign technical advisory assistance for resettlement and sustainable livelihoods for the resettled communities, the project fell short in providing agricultural or cultivation land as a replacement for those who relied on land-based livelihoods. It was verified that most of the resettled people seemed poorer than in the previous condition, and they were facing higher living standards without adequate income. It is therefore crucial for the project proponent to take active measures in supporting the three resettled Villages by providing agricultural land and assisting them in their livelihoods and overall living conditions, so as to ensure that the resettled households do not face long-term challenges in sustaining their livelihoods after the resettlement project. Wearable smart light‐emitting devices whose luminescence can respond to human motions have attracted extensive attention. However, the present electroluminescence‐based devices always require power supply and electronic sensors, which makes them inconvenient to use. In this work, the contact electrification induced multicolor mechanoluminescent (ML) Gd3Ga5O12:A (A = Eu3+, Tb3+, Bi3+)/polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) elastomers are presented. It is revealed that the contact electrification arising from interaction between phosphor and PDMS polymer under mechanics directly excites emission levels, resulting in the self‐recoverable ML not requiring pre‐irradiation and the ultrastrong ML much stronger than that of piezoelectric sulfides. The unique ML mechanism of the elastomers can be understood well according to a proposed electron‐cloud model. Based on the fabric threads processed by the multicolor ML elastomers, some typical wearable smart light‐emitting devices with unique feature of mechanics–photon conversion are designed. It is demonstrated that the devices can emit light sensitively in response to human motions for interactive clothing decoration or dynamic anticounterfeiting, and can quantitatively display real‐time or dynamic stress distributions of body or muscle for human motion monitoring. Therefore, the contact electrification induced multicolor non‐preirradiation ML elastomers are significantly promising for applications in wearable smart light‐emitting devices. To explore the livelihood problems following development-induced displacement and resettlement, this article selects 234 affected families of the Qianping Reservoir in China and builds a livelihood resilience inferred measurement model to assess and verify their livelihood resilience. The research shows that households that have a reasonable income structure or that resettled near their original residence have higher livelihood resilience. Moreover, the proportion of agricultural income and physical capital have the most significant impact on livelihood resilience compared with other socio-economic indicators. These findings can help individuals make better preparations in advance and guide governments to do well in assistance after resettlement. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
