Abstract

An experiment for $p(^{14}\rm{C}$,$^{14}\rm{C}^{*}\rightarrow^{10}\rm{Be}+\alpha)\mathit{p}$ inelastic excitation and decay was performed in inverse kinematics at a beam energy of 25.3 MeV/u. A series of $^{14}\rm{C}$ excited states, including a new one at 18.3(1) MeV, were observed which decay to various states of the final nucleus of $^{10}\rm{Be}$. A specially designed telescope-system, installed around the zero degree, played an essential role in detecting the resonant states near the $\alpha$-separation threshold. A state at 14.1(1) MeV is clearly identified, being consistent with the predicted band-head of the molecular rotational band characterized by the $\pi$-bond linear-chain-configuration. Abstract

Blechnopsis orientalis (Linnaeus) C. Presl (1753) is a fern used both as food and medicine. It is found primarily in southern China and Southeast Asia, thriving in warm, humid shrublands or sparse forest. The total length of the chloroplast genome is 155,211 bp, including a large single-copy region (LSC, 81,877 bp), a small single-copy region (SSC, 21,500 bp), and two inverted repeat regions (IRs, 25,917 bp). The GC content is 41.3%. A total of 131 genes were annotated, including 88 protein-coding genes, eight rRNA genes, and 35 tRNA genes. The phylogenetic analysis using the maximum-likelihood method showed that B. orientalis and Oceaniopteris gibba were closely related. This study provides genomic resources for phylogenetic genetics and resource exploitation of B. orientalis. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

14. Factor Structure of Play Creativity: A New Instrument to Assess Movement Creativity

Abstract

Few assessment tools have been designed to assess motor creativity, and the existing tools have limitations. To bridge this gap, the current study aimed at designing a new movement creativity assessment tool that considers the unique features underlying the expression of creativity through movement. A modified Delphi technique was used to collect experts' perspective and derive tasks suitable for evaluation of the main features underlying movement creativity. From these expert consultations, 11 tasks measuring up to 6 movement creativity variables (i.e., fluency, originality, imagination, elaboration, appropriateness, flow) were included in the initial PLAY Creativity measurement model. The COnsensus-based Standards for the selection of health status Measurement INstruments (COSMIN checklist) were followed to ensure methodological quality. Overall, 367 children from grade 4 to 6 participated in this study. Results indicated strong test-retest, inter, and intra observer reliability. Confirmatory factor analysis revealed an inadequate fit of the hypothesized model leading to some modifications. After combining originality and imagination, and excluding elaboration, the final measurement model provided an adequate fit. PLAY creativity, in its final form, has adequate validity and can be considered a reliable instrument to assess movement creativity in children. This study thus provides a useful tool to assess and promote movement creativity.

Abstract

Leonurus sibiricus Linnaeus 1753, an annual or biennial herb found in northern China, Mongolia, and Russia, typically grows in stony, sandy grasslands, and pine forests. This study sequenced and reported the complete chloroplast genome of L. sibiricus for the first time. The entire circular genome measures 151,689 bp in length, with a GC content of 38.4%. A total of 133 genes were annotated, including 88 protein-coding genes, 37 tRNAs, and eight rRNAs. The genome exhibits a typical quadripartite structure, comprising a large single-copy (LSC 82,820 bp) region, a small single-copy (SSC 17,619 bp) region, and a pair of inverted repeat (IR 25,625 bp each) regions. Phylogenetic analysis using the maximum-likelihood method indicates that L. sibiricus is most closely related to L. japonicus Houttuyn. This study provides valuable genomic resources for further research on the phylogenetics and biodiversity of the genus Leonurus. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

The possibility to use a special class of heavy-ion induced direct reactions, such as double charge exchange reactions, is discussed in view of their application to extract information that may be helpful to determinate the nuclear matrix elements entering in the expression of neutrinoless double beta decay half-life. The methodology of the experimental campaign presently running at INFN - Laboratori Nazionali del Sud is reported andthe experimental challenges characterizing such activity are described.

Abstract

The study of exotic nuclei is one of the most interesting topics in nuclear physics. 34Na has attracted additional attentions for an odd–odd nucleus with special structure. Here, we combine the complex momentum representation (CMR) and Green's function (GF) to establish the CMR-GF method for the exploration of exotic structure, such as halo, skin, the level inversion and so on, in 34Na. The available density distributions, the configuration occupations, and the root mean square radius for the orbit occupied by the last valence neutron suggest a p-wave single-neutron halo or skin structure in 34Na.
