Background and Aim: The study aims to evaluate the feasibility of body mass index (BMI)‐based individualized small bowel preparation for computed tomography enterography (CTE). Methods: In this prospective randomized controlled study, patients undergoing CTE were randomly assigned to the individualized group or standardized group. Those in individualized group were given different volumes of mannitol solution based on BMI (1000 mL for patients with BMI < 18.5 kg/m2, 1500 mL for patients with 18.5 kg/m2 ≤ BMI < 25 kg/m2 and 2000 mL for patients with BMI ≥ 25 kg/m2) while patients in the standardized group were all asked to consume 1500‐mL mannitol solution. CTE images were reviewed by two experienced radiologists blindly. Each segment of the small bowel was assessed for small bowel image quality and disease detection rates. Patients were invited to record a diary regarding adverse events and acceptance. Results: A total of 203 patients were enrolled and randomly divided into two groups. For patients with BMI < 18.5 kg/m2, 1000‐mL mannitol solution permitted a significantly lower rate of flatulence (P = 0.045) and defecating frequency (P = 0.011) as well as higher acceptance score (P = 0.015), but did not affect bowel image quality and diseases detection compared with conventional dosage. For patients with BMI ≥ 25 kg/m2, 2000‐mL mannitol solution provided better overall image quality (P = 0.033) but comparable rates of adverse events and patients' acceptance compared with conventional dosage. Conclusions: Individualized bowel preparation could achieve both satisfactory image quality and patients' acceptance thus might be an acceptable alternative in CTE. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Laminated metal sulfide is a unique material with a graphite-like structure and good storage capacity for both lithium and sodium ions. However, the inherent low electrical conductivity and severe volume expansion of SnS2 lead to poor electrochemical properties, further limiting practical applications. In this work, a nitrogen-doped carbon (NC) and reduced graphene oxide (rGO) co-decorated SnS2 nanoplatelets (SnS2/NC-rGO) using dopamine (PDA) and graphene oxide (GO) as carbon sources are cleverly designed. SnS2/NC wrapped with rGO is synthesized via hydrothermal followed by calcination. This design not only increases the electrical conductivity of the composite but also provides more pathways for ions/electrons. Furthermore, the larger specific surface area of the composite allows better contact between the electrolyte and the electrode, which further enhances the redox dynamics of lithium ions/sodium ions. Thanks to this structure, the charge/discharge specific capacity of the SnS2/NC-rGO composite electrode is 1215.8/1220.7 mAh g−1 after 200 cycles at 0.1 A g−1. The superior sodium storage performance has also been demonstrated in sodium-ion batteries, where a high specific capacity of 501.6 mAh g−1 can be achieved after 80 cycles at a current density of 0.1 A g−1. Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is a hematological malignancy with strong heterogeneity. Immune disorders are a feature of various malignancies, including AML. Interleukins (ILs) and other cytokines participate in a series of biological processes of immune disorders in the microenvironment, and serve as a bridge for communication between various cellular components in the immune system. The role of ILs in AML is complex and pleiotropic. It can not only play an anti-AML role by enhancing anti-leukemia immunity and directly inducing AML cell apoptosis, but also promote the growth, proliferation and drug resistance of AML. These properties of ILs can be used to explore their potential efficacy in disease monitoring, prognosis assessment, and development of new treatment strategies for AML. Background: The ITA° is the gold standard for skin tone classification. Different skin tones are often associated with different skin characteristics and issues. Different skin types are often associated with different skin characteristics and issues in China. Aims: To study the population's skin color distribution and accompanying skin problems according to the ITA° classification standard. Methods: A total of 1092 women aged 22–42 years were recruited in 7 cities in China. All biophysical parameter measurements (SM, CM, TWEL, pH, R2, GLOSS_DSCT, MEXA, ERYTH, ITA°; 9 indexes total) were quantified with noninvasive instruments. All volunteers provided consent before enrollment. Result: The main skin color categories were light (II), very light (I), intermediate (III), and tan (IV). The results demonstrated that the characteristics of the facial skin based on the ITA° were significantly different among cities and age groups and were associated with different skin issues. Conclusions: Lighter skin was associated with worse skin elasticity; intermediate skin was associated with worse skin hydration content and was most prone to being oily; and darker skin was associated with poor barrier function. Established principal component regression (PCR) indicated that pH, gloss GLOSS_DSC, MEXA, ERYTH, TEWL, and SM had significant effects on the ITA°. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
