A silver-catalyzed cascade cyclization strategy has been developed for the synthesis of 4-aminotetrahydrocarbazole, a common core structure found in various alkaloids. This target molecule can be synthesized through a one-step tandem cyclization reaction, thereby eliminating the need for a prior synthesis of tetrahydrocarbazole. Background: Interstitial lung disease (ILD) is a serious complication in systemic juvenile idiopathic arthritis (SJIA). This study aimed to identify the clinical characteristics and prognosis of SJIA-ILD. Methods: A two-center retrospective cohort study was conducted on patients newly diagnosed with SJIA in China from October 2010 to December 2021. Clinical characteristics, laboratory parameters, outcomes, and relapse rates were compared between ILD and non-ILD groups. Results: A total of 176 children with SJIA were included, including 35 in ILD group and 141 in non-ILD group. The median age at onset of SJIA was 5.8 years (range 4.4–9.5) in patients with SJIA-ILD. It exhibited higher incidences of cervical spine (28.6%) and hip involvement (40.0%) in ILD group (P = 0.031 and P = 0.029, respectively). The incidence of macrophage activation syndrome (MAS) in ILD group reached up to 40%, significantly elevated than that in non-ILD group (P = 0.047). Children with ILD demonstrated a stronger inflammatory response and were more prone to developing lymphopenia (P = 0.009), requiring more combination therapy (P = 0.006) to control disease activity. 54.3% of patients received biologic therapies, with only three patient receiving biologics (one with IL-6 blockade, two with TNF inhibitor) prior to ILD onset and none receiving IL-1 blockade. The median follow-up duration was 6.0 years (range 3.9–9.5). The proportions of patients with SJIA-ILD achieving clinical inactive disease without glucocorticoids within 6 to 12 months of the treatment were significantly lower than control group (45.7% vs. 70.2%, P = 0.006). In ILD group, only 54.3% of patients achieved complete remission, and 17.1% were in a non-remission state, among whom two deaths from respiratory failure. There was no significant difference in disease relapse rates between the two groups (P > 0.05). Conclusions: Patients with SJIA-ILD exhibited heightened inflammation, increased hip joint and cervical spine involvement, and were more susceptible to developing lymphopenia and MAS, suggesting a relatively poor prognosis. They required a prolonged time to control inflammation and more aggressive treatment strategies to achieve inactive status. Enhancing stalk strength is a crucial strategy to reduce lodging. We identified a maize inbred line, QY1, with superior stalk mechanical strength. Comprehensive analyses of the microstructure, cell wall composition, and transcriptome of QY1 were performed to elucidate the underlying factors contributing to its increased strength. Notably, both the vascular bundle area and the thickness of the sclerenchyma cell walls in QY1 were significantly increased. Furthermore, analyses of cell wall components revealed a significant increase in cellulose content and a notable reduction in lignin content. RNA sequencing (RNA-seq) revealed changes in the expression of numerous genes involved in cell wall synthesis and modification, especially those encoding pectin methylesterase (PME). Variations in PME activity and the degree of methylesterification were noted. Additionally, glycolytic efficiency in QY1 was significantly enhanced. These findings indicate that QY1 could be a valuable resource for the development of maize varieties with enhanced stalk mechanical strength and for biofuel production. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The application effect of D/CD yarn clearing function and cross yarn clearing function of USTER Quantum 4 electronic yarn cleaner was discussed. The main yarn clearing function of USTER Quantum 4 electronic yarn cleaner was introduced, its D/CD yarn clearing function was verified and tested. Its cross yarn clearing function was used to monitor the cloth defects reported by users. The production practice showed that by setting the D/CD clearing function of the electronic yarn cleaner reasonably, the yarn density difference defects could be monitored effectively. The application of cross yarn clearing function could effectively strengthen the monitoring of yarn defects. It is considered that using USTER Quantum 4 electronic yarn clearing system to monitor and control data, which can effectively control yarn defects, guide the optimization and improvement of quality management in spinning production. n‐type Mg3(Sb, Bi)2 has excellent room temperature thermoelectric performance, which is, however, severely restricted by the negatively charged Mg vacancies that significantly deteriorate the carrier mobility. Herein, by manipulating the threshold solubility and defect formation energy of Mn, multivalent Mn is selectively introduced that synergistically promotes the carrier conduction according to different Mg chemical potentials; In Mg‐rich areas, interstitial Mn dominates which effectively reduces the migration and accumulation of Mg vacancies, while in Mg poor areas, interstitial Mn switches to substitutional sites that directly compensate for the negative charge. All the Mn centers possess Jahn–Teller inactive positions, leading to an ultra‐stable room temperature thermoelectric performance with a leading ZT up to 0.97. This work reveals the critical effect of multivalent and multifunctional transition metal incorporation in Mg3(Sb, Bi)2‐based alloys toward high room‐temperature thermoelectric performance. Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL) has demonstrated its great potential for Adaptive Traffic Signal Control (ATSC) tasks at single‐intersection. In the transportation network multi‐agent environment, cooperative learning among multi‐agents has become a hot research topic. Based on the distributed control model, this paper presents a hybrid reward function model for the dynamic density method of intersections, which emphasizes the priority of emergency vehicles (EMV) while maximizing the traffic efficiency of social vehicles, and solves the problem of sparse reward due to the ambiguous guidance relationship between the multi‐agent Deep Reinforcement Learning (MDRL) state and reward function of the urban road network scenario. On the other hand, based on multi‐agent A2C (MA2C) algorithm, this paper presents Shared Experience MA2C (SEMA2C) between agents. In the transportation network, each intersection represented by an agent has similar task objectives. SMEA2C algorithm takes the current agent as the main body of self‐learning, and utilizes the principle of importance sampling to learn from the experience data of the agents located at adjacent intersections. The experimental results show that the proposed SEMA2C performs well in multi‐agent traffic signal control tasks, and has greater advantages than the similar algorithms. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
