Abstract

Catalytic enantioselective preparation of alkene atropisomers with multiple stereogenic elements and discovery of their applications have become significant but challenging issues in the scientific community due to the unique structures of this class of atropisomers. We herein report the first catalytic atroposelective preparation of cyclopentenyl[b]indoles, a new kind of alkene atropisomers, with stereogenic point and axial chirality via an unusual rearrangement reaction of 3‐indolylmethanols under asymmetric organocatalysis. Notably, this novel type of alkene atropisomers have promising applications in developing chiral ligands or organocatalysts, discovering antitumor drug candidates and fluorescence imaging materials. Moreover, the theoretical calculations have elucidated the possible reaction mechanism and the non‐covalent interactions to control the enantioselectivity. This approach offers a new synthetic strategy for alkene atropisomers with multiple stereogenic elements, and represents the first catalytic enantioselective rearrangement reaction of 3‐indolylmethanols, which will advance the chemistry of atropisomers and chiral indole chemistry. 15. Video Surveillance Object Forgery Detection using PDCL Network with Residual-based Steganalysis Feature

Abstract

Video surveillance has various applications in various fields and industries. However, the rapid development of video processing technology has made video surveillance information susceptible to multiple malicious attacks. At present, the state-of-the-art methods, including the latest deep learning techniques, cannot get satisfactory results when addressing video surveillance object forgery detection (VSOFD) due to the following limitations: (i) lack of VSOFD-specific features for effective processing and (ii) lack of effective deep network architecture designed explicitly for VSOFD. This paper proposes a new detection scheme to alleviate these limitations. The proposed approach first extracted VSOFD-specific features via residual-based steganalysis feature (RSF) from the spatial-temporal-frequent domain. Key clues of video frames can be more effectively learned from RSF, instead of raw frame images. Then, the RSF feature is used to form the residual-based steganography feature vector group (RSFVG), which serves as the input of our following network. Finally, a new VSOFD-specific deep network architecture called parallel-DenseNet-concatenated-LSTM (PDCL) network is designed, which includes two improved CNN and RNN modules. The improved CNN module fuses and processes the coarse-to-fine feature extraction and simultaneously preserves the frame independence in video frames. The improved RNN module learns the correlation features between the adjacent frames to identify forgery frames. Experimental results show that the proposed scheme using the PDCL network with RSF can achieve high performance in test error, precision, recall, and F1 scores in our newly constructed dataset (SYSU-OBJFORG + newly generated forgery video clips). Compared to existing SOTA methods, our framework achieves the best F1 score of 90.33%, which is greatly improved by nearly 8%.

Abstract

The influence of three different types of dissolved organic carbon (DOC) on fouling of a PVDF ultrafiltration membrane modified by nano-sized alumina was studied in this work. Raw water was taken from two different locations of the Song Hua River. Some raw water was used directly as the feed of the ultrafiltration experiments. Meanwhile, three different DOC, i.e. hydrophobic fraction, transphilic fraction, and hydrophilic fraction, were extracted by various resins from the raw water and then the adsorbed compounds were eluted using 0.1 mol/L NaOH, respectively. The three compounds were dissolved into distilled water respectively to prepare the feed for further fouling tests, which aim to influence each single compound. The results show that the anti-fouling capability of the PVDF membrane was improved greatly due to the introduction of nano-sized alumina into the membrane structure. Among the three compounds, hydrophilic fraction shows the highest fouling potential, followed by hydrophobic and transphilic fractions.

Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of Shugan Yiyang Capsule (SGYY) in treating psychogenic and mild arteriogenic erectile dysfunction (ED) of Gan stagnation and Shen deficiency Syndrome type with or without blood stasis.Methods: A multi-centered, randomized, double-blinded, placebo-controlled trial in 304 patients was conducted by dividing them into 3 groups, who received respectively SGYY (n = 102), placebo (n = 101) and Suoyang Bushen capsule (SYBS,n = 101), 1. Og taken three times a day for 4 weeks. Besides, 205 patients were arranged in an open-label study and treated with SGYY l.0 g taken three times a day for 4 weeks. The total effective rate, total remarkably effective rate, erection recovery rate tested by penis hardness test ring, time taken for improving erection among groups, as well as therapeutic effect between psychogenic ED group and mild arteriogenic ED group were compared. Adverse reactions related to SGYY were recorded. And a 3-month follow-up study was conducted on 105 cured patients.Results: The trial was completed in 500 patients. The total effective rate and total remarkably effective rate in the SGYY treated double-blinded group were 88.0% and 64.0% respectively, and those in the open-label group 90.5% and 65.0%, respectively, all significantly higher than those in the placebo (21.0%, 6.0%) and SYBS groups (60.0%, 29.0%),P

Abstract

The dynamics model of Alcaligenes faecalis NR was combined with the activated sludge model No. 1 to guide how to make the bioaugmentation of strain NR successful. Model studies show that conventional heterotrophic bacteria in activated sludge always outcompete strain NR. The competition between strain NR and Nitrosomonas , a typical ammonium-oxidizing bacterium (AOB), mainly depends on COD concentration and maximum growth rate of Nitrosomonas . 2000 mg/L of COD ensures that strain NR is always able to outcompete AOB. A biofilm reactor was developed to avoid a quick decrease in influent substrates. Approximately 94.2% of TN and 93.6% of COD were removed in the bioaugmented biofilm reactor, showing much better performance than an identical biofilm reactor without strain NR inoculation. A long-term experiment showed that strain NR successfully proliferated in the bioaugmented reactor. The abundance variation of strain NR mainly depended on influent COD concentrations, which was consistent with the model results. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

Accurate and real-time traffic flow forecasting is a key problem to the application development of intelligent transportation systems (ITS). Comparing with generalized neural network (GNN) method, the theoretical advantage of applying support vector regression (SVR) method to traffic flow forecasting highly depends on good parameter selection. Simple yet practical approach to SVR parameters setting directly from the training set is analyzed and discussed, and a traffic flow SVR forecasting model for large-scale road network and a greedy load balancing (G-LB) algorithm in cluster environment are proposed. Experimental results demonstrate that it can better satisfy real-time and accurate demands of traffic flow forecasting using parallel SVR approach based on G-LB (GLB- SVR) algorithm than using parallel GNN (P-GNN) method. Male rats were immunized with prostate tissue homogenate supernate (PTHS) of male rats with complete Freund's adjuvant (CFA) intra dermal in the multiple points and simultaneously immunized with 0.5 ml Pertussis-Diphtheria-Tetanus (PDT) vaccine intra peritonea on 0 and 30th day. At the 45th day after first immunization, animals were sacrificed and a series of examinations such as HE stain, assay of TNF-α by ELISA and assay of inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) mRNA by in-situ hybridization (ISH) were taken. We observed that there was a remarkable up-regulation of TNF-α expression in the high dosage model group. The results of macropathology, histopathology and iNOS ISH also revealed the same tendency. This experimental procedure is effective to induce chronic abacterial prostatitis (CAP).

Abstract

The processing was investigated of a Mo-W ore from Inner Mongolia containing 35.94% Mo, 7.73% WO3, 0.23% S, 1.52% Al2O3, 0.70% F, 0.18% As, 1.25% P, 0.65% total Fe, 30.20% CaO and 5.78% SiO2. The ore consisted mainly of Mo oxide associated with Au and scheelite and, due to the complex properties of the ore, flotation produced low-grade concentrates containing 3%-5.5% MoO3 and less than 1% WO3, respectively. An alkaline leaching process was developed to produce W-bearing calcium molybdate with Mo and WO3 contents of 35% and 7.7%, respectively. 36. Synthesis of Alkene Atropisomers with Multiple Stereogenic Elements via Catalytic Asymmetric Rearrangement of 3-Indolylmethanols.

Abstract

Catalytic enantioselective preparation of alkene atropisomers with multiple stereogenic elements and discovery of their applications have become significant but challenging issues in the scientific community due to the unique structures of this class of atropisomers. We herein report the first catalytic atroposelective preparation of cyclopentenyl[b]indoles, a new kind of alkene atropisomers, with stereogenic point and axial chirality via an unusual rearrangement reaction of 3-indolylmethanols under asymmetric organocatalysis. Notably, this novel type of alkene atropisomers have promising applications in developing chiral ligands or organocatalysts, discovering antitumor drug candidates and fluorescence imaging materials. Moreover, the theoretical calculations have elucidated the possible reaction mechanism and the non-covalent interactions to control the enantioselectivity. This approach offers a new synthetic strategy for alkene atropisomers with multiple stereogenic elements, and represents the first catalytic enantioselective rearrangement reaction of 3-indolylmethanols, which will advance the chemistry of atropisomers and chiral indole chemistry., (© 2024 Wiley-VCH GmbH.)

Abstract

Objective: To observe the morphological and molecular biological peculiarities of the experimental autoimmune prostatitis (EAP) rat model made by SC purified prostate protein twice with immune adjuvant., Methods: Male rats were intradermally immunized with a saline extract of male rat prostate glands (RPG) in Freund's complete adjuvant (FCA) and Pertussis-Diphtheria-Tetanus vaccine 0.5 ml i.p. at the 0 and 30th day, and the concentrations of the extract were respectively 5 mg/ml, 10 mg/ml and 15 mg/ml. At the 45th day, the rats were sacrificed and the morphological and molecular biological changes of the prostate specimens were observed to determine the effective concentration of RPG for a successful model., Results: The expression of inflammation genes such as TNF-alpha, IL-1beta, IL-2 and iNOS obviously increased in the high-dosage model group; LM, EM and in situ hybridization revealed appearant chronic inflammation response, but this was not the case in the other two dosage groups., Conclusion: 15 mg/ml RPG mixed with FCA (1:1) 1.0 ml SC with Pertussis-Diphtheria-Tetanus vaccine 0.5 ml i.p. was an effective dosage for the successful model in our experiment.
