AbstractTo explore the effect of ultrasound power on internal water change of apple dried by contact ultrasound enhanced far-infrared radiation drying (CUFRD), the drying characteristics, microstructure, moisture migration, and molecular vibration patterns of apple slices subjected to this process at different ultrasound powers were investigated using low-field nuclear magnetic resonance (LF-NMR), Near-infrared (NIR) and two-dimensional(2D) correlation analysis. With the increase of contact ultrasound (CU) power, the drying times of apple were shortened by 8.69% to 17.39%, respectively. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) observation indicated that higher CU power resulted in an increase in the number of microporous channels and pore diameter within apple’s internal tissue. The findings of LF-NMR clarified that free water content kept decreasing, while the content of semi-bound water initially increased and then reduced. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) images illustrated that higher CU power corresponded to a faster decrease in the redness value of the H+ density map of apple during drying. 2D correlation analysis revealed that the changes in the O-H bonds of apple were prioritized over the C-H bonds during drying process. NIR spectroscopy and LF-NMR heterogeneous correlation spectrograms demonstrated that at wavelengths of 950, 1450, and 1680 nm, the order of changes in water-related functional groups was quadruple-frequency O-H > combination of the first overtone of O-H stretching and OH-bending band > double-frequency C-H. Moreover, with increasing CU power, the vibration of hydrogen-containing functional groups intensified, leading to increased water activity. Precision and effectiveness are essential for the detection of heart-type fatty acid-binding protein (H-FABP) as an early biomarker for cardiac events. Several techniques, such as chromatography (HPLC, GC-MS) and immunoassays (ELISA, LFIA), can be used with distinct advantages in terms of sensitivity, specificity and turnaround time. Challenges with immunoassays include the occurrence of cross-reactivity and interference, while chromatographic procedures require specialized equipment and skilled personnel. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) control gene expression and exhibit stability in human fluids, rendering them valuable as biomarkers. miRNA-21 is a biomarker that is specifically intriguing for heart failure due to its involvement in both the etiology and diagnostics of the condition. Therapeutic approaches aimed at miRNA-21 entail the use of antagomiRs and miRNA mimics, which present opportunities for precision medicine. miRNA-21 is involved in heart hypertrophy, fibrosis and remodeling, and its abnormal regulation offers diagnostic and prognostic information. Current challenges & limitations in early detection Early diagnosis of heart issues is essential for effective treatment and better outcomes. Advanced cardiac implantable electronic devices (CIEDs) are increasingly employed for congestive heart failure, ventricular tachyarrhythmia and bradyarrhythmia. Regular battery changes remain necessary, despite breakthroughs in battery design and CIED programming, resulting in cost, risk and inconvenience. Transvenous lead extraction for damaged leads is potentially fatal. Spin-echo (SE) sequences, enhanced by ECG-gating, improve myocardial-blood contrast but have limited temporal resolution and motion-related artefacts. Ejection fraction (EF), a typical systolic function measure, is susceptible to inaccuracies due to subjective endocardial boundary tracing. Emerging biochemical diagnostics for heart disease encounter hurdles in standardization, preanalytical variability and imprecision. Reliable economic evaluations of test costs and benefits are lacking. Immunoassays for novel cardiac proteins use antibodies targeting various epitopes, resulting in varying results and interpretation challenges. "Sandwich" immunoassays may produce false positives due to disturbances in antigen-antibody reactions and interference by factors like rheumatoid factor or human antimouse antibodies. The presence of endogenous substances like hemoglobin and bilirubin can lower the sensitivity and specificity of troponin assays. POC devices for cardiac troponins and BNP detection are sensitive yet expensive and time-consuming. Recent advances & innovations in early detection Patenting theranostic nanoparticles, developing a UV-cross-linkable cardiac patch with gold nano-rods and creating nanoparticle-based stem cell conjugates for post-infarction treatment are significant advances in spatially designed nanoparticle trials in CVDs, neurological disorders and cancer therapies. AuNPs and iron oxide nanoparticles improve imaging of atherosclerotic plaques and CVDs, with CNA35-AuNPs found to improve contrast and detection in CT images. MRI, utilizing T2 and T1 mapping, 4D flow imaging and nanoplatforms, enhances imaging accuracy and precision, replacing biopsies for heart structure, function and tissue characteristics. PET imaging in CVDs uses radioactive tracers for 3D imaging of biological processes, such as myocardial perfusion using 13N-ammonia, enhanced by nanoplatforms and targeting ligands improving specificity and effectiveness. Enhanced ultrasound imaging with nanoparticles targeting vascular markers enhances echogenicity and contrast-to-noise ratio, resulting in safe and effective real-time imaging. MSOT and PAI use photoacoustic imaging for high-resolution carotid artery and atherosclerosis detection, with nanoparticles improving sensitivity, contrast and specificity. Black locust (Robinia pseudoacacia L.) plantations on the Loess Plateau have become multigenerational sprouting forests with an obvious trend toward degradation. The species composition and vertical distribution pattern of understory woody plants were investigated in mature stands located at the top (T_GS) and bottom (B_GS) of a slope in the gully region to explore whether there may be replacement species for black locust. The species composition of T_GS and B_GS clearly differed, and species diversity indices in B_GS were significantly greater than those in T_GS. These differences in species composition were mainly attributed to elevation, leaf area index, and basal area of total canopy trees. In T_GS, Rubus corchorifolius and Rosa xanthina had an absolute advantage in terms of the number of individuals in the vertical space of (0, 100] cm and (100, 300] cm, respectively. In B_GS, Acanthopanax senticosus was dominant at (0, 200] cm, and Broussonetia papyrifera and Celtis sinensis began to dominate at >200 cm. These results suggest that shrub species (Rubus corchorifolius and Rosa xanthina) and tree species (Broussonetia papyrifera and Celtis sinensis) should be prioritized when mixed with black locust in T_GS and B_GS, respectively, to gradually replace black locust on the Loess Plateau. Knowledge of the quantitative importance of the moisture transport pathways and mutual moisture exchange of the source regions of the Yangtze (SYZR) and Yellow (SYR) rivers' basins, the adjacent origins of China's two longest rivers, can provide insights into the regional atmospheric branch of the hydrological cycle over the source regions. The method with the Hybrid Single-Particle Lagrangian Integrated Trajectory (HYSPLIT) model and a Lagrangian moisture source diagnostic to identify the major moisture transport pathways quantifies their importance to two types of daily precipitation events—daily precipitation more than 10 mm (PM) events and daily precipitation less than 10 mm (PL) events—for the two rivers' regions during the summer (June–August, 1986–2015) and finds the characteristics of mutual moisture exchange. The results indicated that both the Bay of Bengal group pathway and the northwest China group pathway play significant roles in PM and PL events over the SYZR, contributing 41.87% and 39.12% to PM events and 41.33% and 33.16% to PL events, respectively. The SYR has five main moisture path groups; the Bay of Bengal group pathway, the northwest China group pathway, and the southeast China group pathway play significant roles in PM and PL events over the SYR, contributing 32.34%, 23.28%, and 34.36% to PM events and 34.84%, 36.18%, and 19.83% to PL events, respectively. The volume of moisture passing from the SYZR to the SYR is approximately 60 times that of the reverse, constituting about 6.9% of the total moisture released in SYR precipitation. It is worth noting that the moisture release was concentrated in the nearer west group pathway, and the main moisture uptake locations were beyond the source region of the two rivers (remote sources) in the PM events. Bacterial and microeukaryotic community compositions and their assembly processes have remained challenging and remained unclear in lake ecosystems on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau (QTP). We revealed the diversity and community compositions, driving factors, ecological assembly processes, and co-occurrence networks of bacterial and microeukaryotic communities in water bodies of the eight lake ecosystems across the Eastern QTP. The results demonstrated that the predominant bacteria in most samples were Proteobacteria, with an average relative abundance of 41.78%, whereas the most abundant of microeukaryotes differed among the sample sites. The redundancy analysis revealed that latitude and pH were the most important driving factors in shaping the bacterial and microeukaryotic community compositions. Homogeneous selection (56.40%) was the dominant process in assembling the bacterial communities, whereas dispersal limitation (67.24%) was the major process in governing the microeukaryotic communities. Furthermore, dissolved organic carbon and salinity were the major factors mediating the balance of deterministic and stochastic assembly processes in the bacterial and microeukaryotic communities. Both the bacterial and microeukaryotic community co-occurrence networks exhibited topological features of modularity and non-random topological features. In the context of climate change, precipitation and runoff in the arid inland basins of northwest China have undergone significant changes. The Qaidam Basin (QB) is a typical highland arid inland area. Understanding the spatial and temporal variations in surface water and groundwater chemistry and isotopes, as well as their causes, is crucial for future water resource management and ecological protection. Samples of river, lake, and groundwater, as well as others, were collected and tested in five typical watersheds in the summer and winter. The hydrochemistry and isotopic spatiotemporal differences in various water bodies were studied using the significant difference method, water vapor flux models, hydrochemistry, isotopes, and other methods for cause analyses. The results indicate the following: (1) There are differences in hydrochemistry between the southern and northern basins because the southern basin is more influenced by the dissolution of salt rocks and evaporation, whereas the northern basin is mainly affected by carbonate weathering. (2) The enrichment of δD and δ18O in the northern basin gradually increases from west to east, while in the southern basin, it is the opposite. This is because the southern basin receives a larger contribution of water vapor from the mid-latitude westerlies, while the northern basin primarily relies on local evaporation as its water vapor source. (3) Significant differences are observed in the total dissolved solids (TDS) and hydrochemical types of river water and groundwater between the summer and winter due to higher rates of rock weathering and evaporation in the summer. (4) The more pronounced seasonal differences in hydrogen and oxygen stable isotopes in the southern basin are due to higher rates of internal water vapor circulation in the summer. (5) The similarity in characteristics between river water and groundwater is the result of strong exchanges between river water and groundwater from piedmonts to terminals.
