Abstract

The significant increase in the proportion of renewable energy access has led to a burgeoning and urgent demand for flexible resources within the power system, and the prominence of flexible resources on the demand side has been underscored. The existing research on demand-side response primarily focuses on addressing peak load challenges, while the optimization of demand response for accommodating renewable energy remains inadequate. Considering this issue, the present study initially examines the flexibility mechanism offered by demand-side resources and proposes a calculation approach for determining the adjustable capacity of demand-side flexible resources. Furthermore, considering the limitations of the load that can be shifted, transferred, and curtailed, we develop a collaborative optimization operational model for accommodating renewable energy with multiple types of demand response. Finally, based on the provincial power grid example, the simulation study verifies the efficacy of a multi-type demand response. The results demonstrate that shiftable and transferable loads can effectively facilitate the accommodation of new energy, and their optimal allocation capacity ratios are 5.8% and 2.3%, respectively. Abstract

As China's electricity market develops rapidly in recent years, market evaluation turns out to be more necessary than before to make a comprehensive evaluation of market construction and operation, and ensure a fair and health electricity market. In this study, the international experience of market monitoring and assessment is firstly summarized. Then considering the feature of China's inter-provincial power market, the evaluation index system is proposed for the operation effectiveness of inter-provincial electricity market. At last, a case of comparing the short-term and long-term inter-provincial market modes is presented to validate the proposed market evaluation index system.

Abstract

Traditional planning is difficult to collect data from geographic entities. Therefore, planning models often neglect the influence of surface factors (obstacles), and often do not have practicability and operability, resulting in low longitude results. In addition, traditional planning is difficult to achieve visualization and intuition. Therefore, the introduction of Google Earth software in power grid planning is necessary, which aimed at applying geomorphological factors to planning. This paper expounds the principle of power network planning based on GE satellite map. The application adopts C/S mode to store the information and map of power network equipment on the server. After the client connects the server online, the tile map can be downloaded from Google Earth. Then, Tile Technology of GMap is used to integrate the downloaded map into a complete map and the longitude and latitude coordinates of each grid equipment are obtained from the GIS database of the full service data center. After that, the grid equipment graphics are finished by GDI+ technology. Finally, with the chosen planning project, the system can dynamically work out the plan, including the location, graphics, scale, wiring situation, estimation of investment, etc. Results show that Google Earth can improve the efficiency of power grid planning.

Mechanical engraving surface texturing methods are proposed, and pin-on-disc configuration tribological tests are carried out to investigate the effect of microgrooves, with different microgrooved direction and area ratio, on tribological performance of rock bit sliding bearing (RBSB). The RBSB, always working under low-speed and heavy-load conditions, is made of 20CrNiMo /beryllium bronze. Compared with untextured samples, wavy microgrooved tribopairs with area ratio of 5% and reference angle of 15° exhibit lower friction coefficient and wear rate. Experimental results show a reduction of 54% in friction and 78.8% reduction for wear rate, revealing that microgrooves show great potential in improving the service life of RBSB.

Abstract

The influences of frictional characteristics of textured surface on rock bit sliding bearing have been investigated through unit experiments where the friction couple was equivalent to a pin-on-disc configuration. Cylindrical and elliptical textures are designed with different sizes, densities ratio and depths, fabricated using precision micro-mechanical engraving. Under the identical testing conditions in which the test force is 430 N and average linear velocity is 0.29 m/s, cylindrical texture with diameter of 300 µm, density ratio of 5.04%, and depth of 40 µm, exhibits lower friction coefficient, temperature rise and wear loss than that of untextured unit specimens. Friction coefficient decreased by 56.3%, similarly temperature rise decreased by 51.9%, and wear loss of textured disc specimens decreased by 52.9%. This study presents that the designed texture with relative small size and density ratio has obvious effect of lubrication and antifriction improvement compared with other specimens which has the same texture depth of 40 µm that it is approximately half of rock bearing radial clearance for rock bit sliding bearing under low-speed and high-load operating conditions.

44. The value of neutrophil elastase in diagnosis of type III prostatitis.

Abstract

Purpose: To explore the value and significance of neutrophil elastase (NE) in diagnosis of type III prostatitis.Materials and Methods: The prospective study recruited 123 patients diagnosed with type III prostatitis (IIIA, 36 cases; IIIB, 87 cases) and 84 healthy controls, between April 2008 and July 2012. NE concentrations in expressed prostatic secretions (EPS), EPS routine examination, bacterial culture and The National Institute of Health Chronic Prostatitis Symptom Index (NIHCPSI) score were detected in all the subjects. Difference of NE, CPSI score, and withe blood cell (WBC) count between 2 or more than 2 groups and relationships between NE concentrations and WBC count were all analyzed.Results: There was significant difference in levels of NE (P < .05) between IIIA and IIIB groups, and obviously positive correlation between the level of NE and number of leukocyte in type IIIA prostatitis group was observed (P < .05). The values of CPSI score between IIIA and IIIB groups was statistically significant (P = .037). The levels of leukocyte mount, NE and CPSI were statistically significant between IIIA and the control group (P < .05). NE concentration and CPSI score were statistically significant between IIIB and control group (P < .05), while the numbers of leukocyte was not statistically significant (P = .360).Conclusion: The level of NE in EPS is a significant indicator in diagnosis of type IIIA and IIIB prostatitis. Abstract

Objective: To investigate serum 5-HT level In premature ejaculation (PE) patients and evaluate its clinical value in di-agnosis and treatment of PE. Methods: 71 patients were re-cruited In this study. Their serums were collected before and after sertraline treatment, while serums from 64 normal males were also collected as a control. Serum 5-HT level was detected by ELISA. SPSS 17.0 software was used to analyze the level of serum 5-HT and the ROC curve was drawn. Re-sults: The average serum 5-HT level of PE patients was 61.9 ng/ml In our study, which was significantly lower than that of the control group (120.6 ng/ml), with statistical signifi-cance (p < 0.01). After sertraline treatment, the average se-rum 5-HT level in PE patients was 98.9 ng/ml, which was significantly higher than that before sertraline treatment. Sensitivity and specificity for serum 5-HT as a predictive diagnostic tool for PE were 92.2 and 93.0%, respectively, and the cutoff value of serum 5-HT was 86.4 ng/ml. Conclusions: Our study showed that serum 5-HT level may be used as a functional diagnostic tool for PE and an indicator in PE treatment. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

Previous studies have demonstrated that a natural product of celery seeds, 3‑n‑butylphthalide (NBP), has significant antihypertensive effects that are widely utilized in Chinese traditional medicine. The present study aimed to investigate the effects of NBP on hypertensive nephropathy, as well as the mechanisms underlying this disease in spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHRs). SHRs were treated orally with saline, NBP (15 or 30 mg/kg) or losartan (10 mg/kg) daily for 20 weeks, during which time blood pressure was measured every four weeks. At the end of the 20‑week treatment, blood and urine samples were collected for biochemical analysis, and kidney tissues were obtained for histopathological analysis and immunohistochemistry. Enzyme‑linked immunosorbent assays and western blotting were used to analyze the expression of transforming growth factor (TGF)‑β1 in blood and kidney tissues, respectively. The results showed that NBP effectively attenuated progression of hypertensive nephropathy by decreasing urinary albumin excretion and blood urea nitrogen levels. It significantly decreased blood pressure (although less markedly than losartan) and the incidence of glomerulosclerosis. In addition, it alleviated tubular impairment and significantly decreased oxidative stress, as well as the expression of pro‑inflammatory cytokines and TGF-‑β1 in kidney tissues. In conclusion, the results suggested that NBP may slow the progression of hypertensive nephropathy by a variety of mechanisms.
