Abstract

We study the representation theory of the Ding-Iohara algebra $\calU$ to find $q$-analogues of the Alday-Gaiotto-Tachikawa (AGT) relations. We introduce the endomorphism $T(u,v)$ of the Ding-Iohara algebra, having two parameters $u$ and $v$. We define the vertex operator $\Phi(w)$ by specifying the permutation relations with the Ding-Iohara generators $x^\pm(z)$ and $\psi^\pm(z)$ in terms of $T(u,v)$. For the level one representation, all the matrix elements of the vertex operators with respect to the Macdonald polynomials are factorized and written in terms of the Nekrasov factors for the $K$-theoretic partition functions as in the AGT relations. Abstract

We introduce an analogue $K_n(x,z;q,t)$ of the Cauchy-type kernel function for the Macdonald polynomials, being constructed in the tensor product of the ring of symmetric functions and the commutative algebra $\mathcal{A}$ over the degenerate $\mathbb{C} \mathbb{P}^1$. We show that a certain restriction of $K_n(x,z;q,t)$ with respect to the variable $z$ is neatly described by the tableau sum formula of Macdonald polynomials. Next, we demonstrate that the integer level representation of the Ding-Iohara quantum algebra naturally produces the currents of the deformed $\mathcal{W}$ algebra. Then we remark that the $K_n(x,z;q,t)$ emerges in the highest-to-highest correlation function of the deformed $\mathcal{W}$ algebra., Comment: 20 pages

Abstract

We introduce a unital associative algebra A over degenerate CP^1. We show that A is a commutative algebra and whose Poincar'e series is given by the number of partitions. Thereby we can regard A as a smooth degeneration limit of the elliptic algebra introduced by one of the authors and Odesskii. Then we study the commutative family of the Macdonald difference operators acting on the space of symmetric functions. A canonical basis is proposed for this family by using A and the Heisenberg representation of the commutative family studied by one of the authors. It is found that the Ding-Iohara algebra provides us with an algebraic framework for the free filed construction. An elliptic deformation of our construction is discussed, showing connections with the Drinfeld quasi-Hopf twisting a la Babelon Bernard Billey, the Ruijsenaars difference operator and the operator M(q,t_1,t_2) of Okounkov-Pandharipande., Comment: 43 pages

Abstract

The electron transport in electrolyte filled nanoporous TiO2 and the influence of circuit condition on the electron transport, by means of photovoltage transient are discussed. Photovoltage transients are measured with electrodes having various thicknesses, showing that the transit time was nearly proportional to the square of the electrode thickness.

13. Neutron capture cross section and capture gamma-ray spectra of 138Ba in the keV-neutron energy region

Abstract

The neutron capture cross sections and the capture γ-ray spectra of 138Ba were measured in the astrophysically important energy region. Measurements were made at neutron energies from 15 to 80 keV. The neutron energy was determined by the time-of-flight method. The γ-ray spectra showed that the primary transition pattern strongly depended on the incident neutron energy. The neutron capture cross sections were derived by the pulse height weighting technique. The present cross section values were compared with evaluated cross section data and previous measurements.

Abstract

A study was conducted to examine the performances of dye-sensitized solar cells prepared from nanoporous TiO2 films with different TiO2 nanoparticle preparation methods and different annealing temperatures with various film thicknesses. The result reveals that the solar cells prepared at higher annealing temperatures have higher energy conversion efficiencies.

Abstract

The pulsed laser-induced current transients from the same nanoporous TiO2 electrodes both in the presence and in the absence of bias light are measured. Regardless of the methods, the derived electron diffusion coefficients (D) values from the transients are found in the same order and dependency on electron density. This suggests that both methods can be used to compare electron transport properties among different nanoporous films.

Abstract

The transport of photogenerated electrons in nanoporous TiO2 electrodes is examined in a lithium perchlorate electrolyte solution by laser-induced photocurrent transient measurements. The diffusion coefficients of the photoelectrons are found to depend on the lithium ion concentration in the solution.

Abstract

In the present study, we examined the rates of urinary excretion of glucose and moltose after an infusion of maintenance fluid with glucose or maltose in adult rabbits. Three maintenance fluids (sugar-free, 5% glucose [Veen 3G®] and 5% maltose [Actir®]), which contained different sugars bu were identical in electrolyte and acetate compositions and concentrations (Na: 45, K: 17, Mg: 5, Cl: 37, H 2 PO 4 : 10 and CH 2 COO; 2σ mEq/l), were used in this study. In addition, the optimum infusion speed for maintenance therapy (10 ml/kg/h) was used. Animals were not given food or water during the 10-day period of administration. The body weights of the animals were measured every day. The concentrations of total protein, albumin, free fatty acids and glucose in the serum were measured, Urine samples for determination of glucose and maltose concentrations were collected from the 1st to 10th administrations. After infusion with 5% maltose, urinary maltose excretion decreased time-dependently, while that of glucose increased. This suggests that maltase activity time-dependently increases after infusion with maltose. In addition, total sugar was only minimally excreted into urine in the 5% glucose group compared with the 5% maltose group. Thus, the glucose infusion was superior to the maltose infusion in the rate of energy utilization. However, neither the loss of body weight nor the increase in concentration of free fatty acids in serum differed significantly among the 3 groups. In conclusion, infusion of maintenance fluid with 5% maltose results in the excretion of maltose and glucose into urine, since enzymat ic hydrolysis of maltose to glucose is limited to that by maltase.
