6. Research on dynamic allocation of network slicing resources based on OS-MBRL

Abstract

With the growth of business needs of network users, how to achieve dynamic and accurate resource allocation of network slicing is a problem that must be solved in the current network. Considering that traditional modelless reinforcement learning methods require a longer model training time, a dynamic resource allocation method based on OS-MBRL was proposed. The online support vector machines algorithm was utilized to construct a system model that could handle dynamically changing data streams and continuously update the model to adapt to new data, ensuring a lower number of SLA violations when allocating fewer resources. Simulation experiment results show that compared with NAF algorithm, DQN algorithm, and TD3 algorithm, the proposed method can reduce SLA violations by up to 80% and resource allocation by 9%.

Abstract

A novel slit-resonator acoustic metastructure (SRAM) composed of Helmholtz resonators and porous materials is proposed to achieve a continuous perfect sound absorption at 200–3000 Hz. The Helmholtz resonator utilizes the resonance effect for low-frequency acoustic energy attenuation, and when its neck is small enough, it can be considered as an air slit. The air slit acts as a channel, from which most acoustic waves enter the metastructure and are absorbed by porous materials. Porous materials absorb high-frequency sound waves through thermoviscous dissipation. Unlike traditional filling forms, porous materials are filled around the air slits. To analyze the acoustic performance of this metamaterial, theoretical models and finite element models are developed and experimentally verified. The SRAM with melamine foam and rock wool can reach an absorption effect better than 0.5 at 331–3000 Hz and reaches a peak of 0.946 at 501 Hz with a thickness of 50 mm. Using the genetic algorithm, the parameters of SRAM are optimized for efficient sound absorption over a wider bandwidth. The optimized SRAM obtains an absorption coefficient of 0.8 in the range of 400–3000 Hz with a thickness of 50 mm. This study provides a new method of low-frequency ultra-broadband sound absorption. Abstract

This study aimed to construct a dose-response model of aflatoxin B1 (AFB1)-induced apoptosis rate in rat hepatocytes by using quantitative data. The coefficients of determination (R2) and further mathematical tests showed that the Gamma model (R2 = 0.996 4, Akaike information criterion = 37.40, and Bayesian information criterion = 17.19) was superior to other models. Hence, the Gamma model was recommended as the optimal dose-response model for apoptosis rate in rat hepatocytes after acute exposure to AFB1 for hazard characterization in the framework of AFB1 risk assessment.

47. Fiber Bragg Grating Strain Sensor With Extended Measurement Range via Strain Relief Ring

Abstract

A novel large strain sensor is designed and fabricated by radially mounting a fiber Bragg grating (FBG) onto an annular elastic element. The sensor responds to strain in a single direction through geometric deformation, featuring a large strain measurement range and adjustable sensitivity. This addresses the drawbacks of existing FBG strain sensors, such as fragility, limited strain measurement range, and challenges in adapting to diverse applications and installation scenarios. Our experiments demonstrate that at an angle of 40° between the FBG and the strain axis, the sensor achieves an impressive strain measurement range of 0– $12~148~\mu \varepsilon $ accompanied by a sensitivity of 0.151 pm/ $\mu \varepsilon $ . The sensor’s performance can be further tailored by adjusting the angle. For instance, at angles of 30°, 20°, and 10°, the sensitivities are enhanced to 0.506, 0.858, and 1.035 pm/ $\mu \varepsilon $ , respectively. This flexibility allows for customized sensitivity and measurement range, catering to various application needs.

Abstract

Ion interference including copper (Cu+)/calcium (Ca2+) overload activate cell‐specific death channels, damage mitochondria and disrupt cellular homeostasis, showing great potential in anti‐tumor therapy. However, the complex metabolic environment and the powerful self‐protection of tumors cause clinical failure of ion interference. Thus, metabolic disruption is expected an innovative strategy for the enhancement of ion interference. Herein, CuS‐α‐CHCA&penthiopyrad@CaCO3‐RGD nanoparticles (CCPCR NPs) are prepared to provide a Cu+/Ca2+ dual‐overload anti‐tumor therapy assisted by metabolic‐symbiosis‐destruction strategy, realizing the collapse of tumor self‐protection. Specifically, precise CuS and CaCO3 delivery triggered irreversible Cu+/Ca2+ dual‐overload and reactive oxygen species (ROS) attack toward 4T1 cells. Meanwhile, α‐CHCA and penthiopyrad disturbed the metabolic symbiotic environment by disrupting the TCA cycle and preventing lactate efflux to aggravate intracellular acidosis and promote Fenton‐like reaction of Cu+, enhancing the sensitivity of tumor cells to copper death and Ca2+ overload. Further, aided by the metabolism of symbiosis, the destroyed tumor cells further activate the polarization of M1 macrophages and the maturation and antigen cross‐presentation of dendritic cells (DCs), which further eliminate tumor cells. In summary, an amplified anti‐tumor dual‐ion interference strategy assisted by metabolic symbiotic destruction is established, which is of great significance in improving the clinical effect of ion therapy for tumors.
