46. Is there any cardioprotective role of Taurine during cold ischemic period following global myocardial ischemia?

Abstract

Abstract Background The aim of the present study was to investigate the cardioprotective effect of Taurine on the donor hearts during cold ischemic period. Methods 32 rats were divided into four groups (sham, taurine, ischemia, treatment group, 8 rats in each). All rats were fed with rat food for three weeks. Taurine and treatment groups were given a 200 mg/kg/day dose of Taurine by oral gavage besides rat feed. Cardiectomy was performed in all rats after three weeks. In ischemia and treatment groups, harvested hearts were kept in 0.9% sodium chloride at +4 degrees C for 5 hours. Tissue samples were taken from left ventricle in all groups. These samples were evaluated by histopathologic and biochemical examination. Results In the present study results of the biochemical and histopathological examination reveals the protective effects of Taurine. As a marker of lipid peroxidation, Malondialdehyde (MDA) levels in ischemia group were significantly higher than both Sham and Taurine groups. MDA values were recorded; 3.62 ± 0.197 in the sham group, 2.07 ± 0.751 in the Taurine group, 9.71 ± 1.439 in the ischemia group and 7.68 ± 1.365 in the treatment group. MDA levels decreased in treatment group. (p < 0.05) In accordance with MDA findings, while superoxide dismutase and glutathione peroxidase levels decreased in ischemia group, they increased in treatment group. (p < 0.05) There was no differences in Catalase (CAT) enzyme level between treatment and ischemia group (p = 1.000). CAT level results were recorded; 7.08 ± 0.609 in the sham group, 6.15 ± 0.119 in the Taurine group, 5.02 ± 0.62 in the ischemia group, and 5.36 ± 0.384 in the treatment group. Less intracellular edema and inflammatory cell reaction were observed in histologic examination in favor of treatment group. (p < 0.01) Conclusion Taurine decreased myocardial damage during cold ischemic period following global myocardial ischemia.

Abstract

Bu çalışmada [0,1] kapalı aralığında sürekli fonksiyonlar uzayı üzerinde tanımlı operatörlerden oluşan diziler ele alındı. Bu dizilerin elemanları Bohman-Korovkin Teoreminin koşullarını bir sabit çarpanı farkıyla sağlayan regüler operatörlerdir. Bu dizilerin oluşturduğu ailenin bir lineer uzay olduğu gösterildi. Bu uzayın tam olan bir alt uzayı elde edildi. Bohman-Korovkin Teoreminin koşullarını sağlayan, pozitif ve lineer operatör dizilerinin oluşturduğu kümenin bu tam alt uzay içinde bir konik oluşturduğu ispatlandı. In this research, the sequences consisting of operators defined on the space of continuous functions on the closed interval [0,1] was studied. The elements of the sequences are regular operators providing the conditions of Bohman-Korovkin Theorem, with a constant factor difference. It was shown that the family consisting of those sequences is a linear space. A complete subspace of this space was obtained. It was proved that the family of the sequences of positive and linear operators by providing Bohman-Korovkin Theorem of conditions, which created a cone in this complete subspace. 60

Abstract

Objective: We aimed to investigate if the nightly urine samples can be used instead of spot urine samples and 24 hour urine samples which are uncomfortable for patients, by comparing nightly urine samples with 24 hour and spot urine samples. Materials and Methods: Urine samples were collected for 24 hours, spot, nightly for the measurement microalbuminuria in sixty patients (32 men, 28 women) with diabetes mellitus. Patients with urinary 38 °C), and evidence of chronic>infection, evidence of pregnancy, fever (disease were excluded from this study. Results: Microalbuminuria was determined 28% of urine samples of 24 hours, 72% of spot urine samples, 58% calculation of the albumin/creatinine ratio in spot urine samples, 93 % of nightly urine samples. Conclusion: We suggest that the measurement of microalbuminuria in nightly urine samples which are less affected than the other collection methods (24 hour and spot urine samples) for the factors such as hydration, physical activity and collection errors, to be more sensitive., Amaç: Gecelik idrar örneklerinde mikroalbümin ölçümü 24 saatlik ve anlık idrar örnekleriyle kıyaslanarak, hastalar için konforsuz bulunan 24 saatlik idrar yerine kullanılıp kullanılmayacağı araştırıldı. Gereç ve Yöntemler: Çalışmaya 24 saatlik idrarda mikroalbümin isteği olan ve yapılan sorgulamalar sonucunda diabetes mellitus tanısı dışında kronik bir hastalık, gebelik, son iki gün içinde ağır egzersiz, idrar yolu enfeksiyonu ve ateşi olanlar hariç 32'si erkek olmak üzere toplam 60 hasta alındı. Bulgular: 24 saatlik idrar örneklerinin %28'inde, anlık idrar örneklerinin %72'sinde, kreatininle düzeltilmiş anlık idrar örneklerinin %58'inde ve gecelik idrar örneklerinin %93'ünde mikroalbüminüri tespit edildi. Sonuç: Hastaların örnek toplamadaki hatalarının en aza indirgendiği ve hidrasyon, fiziksel aktivite gibi çeşitli faktörlerden en az etkileneceğini düşündüğümüz gecelik idrar numunelerinde mikroalbümin ölçümünün daha hassas bir yöntem olacağını önermekteyiz.
