Pre-treatment processing technology plays a crucial role in the overall freshwater fish processing procedure, and automatic head and tail cutting stands out as a significant pre-treatment technique within the industry. The system for removing the head and tail of freshwater fish comprised a Cartesian coordinate manipulator, a fish transfer device, a control system, and an image acquisition device. In the vision system, five image segmentation methods were utilized for fish head and tail image segmentation comparison tests. These methods include U-Net (U-shaped Deep Neural Network), DeeplabV3, PSPNet (Pyramid Scene Parsing Network), FastSCNN (Fast Semantic Segmentation Network), and ICNet (Image Cascade Network), all of which were employed to evaluate their performance. Among the tested segmentation methods, the ICNet demonstrated the most excellent segmentation capability. The experimental results indicated a segmentation accuracy of 99.01%, a mean intersection over union (MIoU) of 82.50%, and an image processing time of 15.25 ms. The results showed that the fish head and tail were successfully cut off using this model for recognition with a circular knife. Consequently, the segmentation model employed in the machine vision system within this study has demonstrated successful applicability in automatically cutting the heads and tails of freshwater fish of various sizes.

Ginger (Zingiber officinale Roscoe) is a significant medicinal and culinary plant, with its growth influenced by various biotic and abiotic factors. The FWL gene, containing the PLAC8 motif, is prevalent in fungi, algae, higher plants, and animals. In plants, FWL primarily regulates fruit weight, cell division, and participates in heavy metal transport. However, the FWL family members in ginger have not been previously identified. This study identified 21 FWL members within the ginger genome, distributed across nine chromosomes. These 21 FWL genes were categorized into five subfamilies based on the phylogenetic analysis. Gene-structure and motif analyses revealed that ZoFWL has been conserved throughout evolution. Concurrently, the ZoFWL gene exhibits a homologous evolutionary relationship only with Musa acuminata. We identified three pairs of fragment-repeat events encompassing five genes, which likely represent the primary mechanism for amplification within the ZoFWL gene family. The promoter regions of the ZoFWL genes are enriched with numerous cis-acting elements implicated in plant growth, development, and responses to abiotic stress. These include elements responsive to low temperatures, anaerobic induction, MYB binding sites integral to defense and stress responses, and drought inducibility. Expression profiling revealed that the ZoFWL genes are responsive to a quartet of abiotic stressors, with ZoFWL18, in particular, demonstrating a pronounced response to osmotic, low-temperature, heat, and salinity stresses. This underscores the pivotal role of ZoFWLs in abiotic-stress responses. Our findings offer valuable insights into the potential of the ZoFWL gene family in modulating ginger rhizome development and the genes’ response to abiotic stressors, laying a foundational framework for future research into ginger’s resistance breeding.

Ginger, valued for its medicinal properties and economic significance, is vulnerable to environmental stressors such as intense light and high temperatures, which can hinder its growth and development. Class III peroxidases (PRXs) are plant-specific oxidoreductases essential for plant development, growth, and stress responses. Despite their importance, there is limited information available on the function of the class III peroxidase gene family in ginger (ZoPRX). In this study, 103 ZoPRX members within the ginger genome were identified, unevenly distributed across 11 chromosomes. The identified ZoPRX members were categorized into five subfamilies based on gene structures, protein motifs, and phylogenetic analysis. Gene duplication analysis revealed that ZoPRX has primarily undergone segmental duplication. Interspecies homology analysis between ginger and Arabidopsis thaliana, Oryza sativa, and Musa acuminata suggested most ZoPRXs in ginger originated after the divergence of dicotyledon and monocotyledon. Analysis of promoter cis-acting elements identified defense and stress response elements in 39 genes and hormone response elements in 95 genes, indicating their potential roles in responding to environmental stresses. Quantitative Real-Time PCR (qRT-PCR) analysis confirmed that the majority of ZoPRX members are responsive to high temperature and intense light stress. This study provides a comprehensive understanding of the PRX family in ginger, thereby laying the groundwork for future investigations into the functional role of ZoPRX genes under high-temperature and intense light-stress conditions.

The quality of fish pre-treatment processing directly affected the production competitiveness of the fish industry. The removal of heads and tails is one of the key technologies in the fish processing. This study proposed an identification method of fish head and tail, and the original YOLOV3 model was improved by replacing the backbone feature extraction network of the YOLOV3 model with the lightweight neural network MobileNetv3. Firstly, a freshwater fish image dataset was created and divided into the training, validation and test sets with the assigned ratio of 6:2:2. Next, the freshwater fish dataset was trained using the target detector YOLOV3. Finally, the average accuracy mAP (mean of Average Precision) and the average image detection time were used as the accuracy and speed indexes to evaluate the detection effect of the model. In addition, the SSD-MobileNetv3 and SSD-VGG16 were introduced into present study and they were compared with the improved algorithm. The experimental results showed that the detection speed of the YOLOV3 model with MobileNetV3 was significantly improved. The mAP of YOLOV3-MobileNetv3 model was 98.36%, the inference speed was 28.2 ms, which was 5.09%, 4.24% and 2.07% higher than the mAP of other three models (SSD-VGG16, SSD-MobileNetv3 and YOLOV3-Darknet-53), and the average detection time shortened by 86%, 9.99% and 29%, respectively. Therefore, this experimental method of head and tail of freshwater fish could achieve real-time detection and recognition of various kinds of freshwater fish, which had the great advantages of high detection accuracy and fast detection speed.

【Objective】The study aimed to clarify the value of microbial fertilizer in the production of Chinese chive, and screen the best scheme for combined application of microbial fertilizer with chemical fertilizer in the high quality and safe production of Chinese chive and control of Bradysia odoriphaga.【Method】Xuejiu 791 was taken as the research object, 8 treatments of microbial fertilizer combined with chemical fertilizer were set up, namely, the recommended amount of chemical fertilizer combined with 30%, 50%, 70%, 100% of the recommended amount of microbial fertilizer (T2~T5), and the recommended amount of microbial fertilizer combined with 70%, 50%, 30%, and 0% of the recommended amount of chemical fertilizer (T6~T9). The effects of different fertilization schemes on the yield and growth traits of Chinese chives was estimated by indoor single factor experiment to screen the better fertilization schemes; and the effects of above better fertilization schemes on the yield and quality of Chinese chives and the occurrence of B. odoriphaga were verified by field experiments.【Result】The indoor experiment showed that the growth traits of Chinese chives were significantly improved by microbial fertilizer, with plant height, stem diameter, maximum leaf width, plant weight per plant and number of fibrous root significantly increased. Among all the fertilization schemes, the best growth traits of Chinese chives were found in T5, T6, and T7 treatment, especially for plant height, which was 27.87, 27.59 and 28.84 cm, respectively, and significantly differed from that in other treatments. The weight per plant was 0.99, 0.93 and 0.94 g, respectively, which was significantly different from that in other treatments except T4 and T9. The growth traits of Chinese chives did not differ among T5, T6 and T7. Based on the above results and the economic point of view, T6 and T7 were judged to be the optimal fertilizer scheme. The result of field experiment showed that the application of T6 scheme of indoor experiment (FT6 treatment) significantly increased the plant weight, stem diameter, pseudostem length, plant height, maximum leaf width and number of fibrous root of Chinese chives in greenhouse by 29.41%, 1.70%, 12.19%, 7.58%, 17.23% and 40.60%, respectively, compared to the control (FT1). The application of T7 scheme of indoor experiment in field (FT7 treatment) significantly increased the weight per plant, stem diameter, pseudostem length, maximum leaf width and number of fibrous root of Chinese chives by 23.22%, 4.21%, 11.94%, 9.47% and 16.99%, respectively, compared to the control (FT1), but the increase amplitude of each growth character was less than that in FT6. The yield of Chinese chives in FT6 and FT7 treatment was significantly increased by 48.39% and 12.99%, respectively compared to FT1. The quality of Chinese chives in FT6 and FT7 treatment was significantly improved, soluble sugar content and soluble protein content were increased by 32.72%, 10.45% and 6.76%, 6.60%, respectively, compared to FT1. The growth traits of Chinese chives in FT6 were better than those in FT7. FT6 and FT7 treatment inhibited the occurrence of B. odoriphaga, and the inhibition rates were 50.15% and 22.16%, respectively, compared to the control.【Conclusion】Compared with the single application of chemical fertilizer, the combined application of microbial fertilizer and chemical fertilizer effectively improve the yield and quality of Chinese chive, and inhibit the occurrence of B. odoriphaga. The best recommended scheme was 70% of the recommended amount of fertilizer combined with 100% of the recommended amount of microbial fertilizer.

Breath is one of the most important physiological features of human life. In particular, it is significant to monitor the physical characteristics of breath, such as breath frequency and tidal volume. Breath sensors play an important role in the field of human health monitoring. However, an electronic breath sensor is not stable or even safe when the patient is in a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) system or during any oncology treatment that requires radiation and other high electric/magnetic fields. Fiber-optic-based sensors have attracted a considerable amount of attention from researchers since they are immune to electromagnetic interference. Here, we propose and demonstrate a fiber-optic-based relative-humidity (RH)-sensing strategy by depositing Ti3C2Tx nanosheets onto an etched single-mode fiber (ESMF). The humidity sensor function is realized by modulating the transmitted light in the ESMF using the excellent hydrophilic properties of Ti3C2Tx. Experiments show that the coated Ti3C2Tx nanosheets can effectively modulate the transmitted light in the ESMF in the relative humidity range of 30~80% RH. The sensor’s fast response time of 0.176 s and recovery time of 0.521 s allow it to be suitable for real-time human breath monitoring. The effective recognition of different breath rhythms, including fast, normal, deep, and strong breathing patterns, has been realized. This work demonstrates an all-optical Ti3C2Tx-based sensing platform that combines Ti3C2Tx with an optical fiber for humidity sensing for the first time, which has great promise for breath monitoring and presents novel options for gas-monitoring applications in the biomedical and chemical fields.

Cultivating tourists’ environmental responsibility behavior is an effective way to relieve the pressure of ecological environment in tourist destinations. Based on the value-attitude-behavior theory, this paper constructs a relationship model of values, ecotourism attitude, social responsibility awareness and environmental responsibility behavior, and explores the mechanism of tourists’ values influence on environmental responsibility behavior. Taking three scenic areas (Mao’er Mountain, Yulong River and Xingping Ancient Town) in the Lijiang River Basin of Guilin, a world-famous tourist destination in China, as a case study, the structural equation model is used to test the theoretical hypotheses of tourists’ environmental responsibility behavior. The results of the three studies show that values have a significant positive impact on tourists’ environmental responsibility behavior, while ecotourism attitude cannot directly affect tourists’ environmental responsibility behavior, but values can indirectly affect tourists’ environmental responsibility behavior through the chain intermediary of ecotourism attitude and social responsibility awareness. The findings of the study can effectively guide tourists’ environmental responsibility behavior, which has far-reaching significance for the sustainable development of tourist destinations.

The mechanism of spiritual transformation in red tourism plays a key role in facilitating the inheritance of red culture. A survey of 385 tourists of Chinese nationality was conducted to explore the path of red tourism's influence on tourists' spiritual transformation. Based on the stimulus-organism-response theory, this paper explores tourists' environmental perceptions of red tourism activities as special external stimuli, introduces a positive emotion factor, and constructs a path model of red tourism for tourists' positive emotions based on educational function and cultural identity, which ultimately leads to their spiritual transformation. The results of the empirical tests using structural equation modelling indicated that environmental perceptions had a significantly positive effect on the stimulation of positive emotions, while positive emotions had an indirect effect on spiritual transformation. The research results enhance people's understanding of the spiritual transformation brought by red tourism and provide management significance for red tourism planning.

Ginger (Zingiber officinale Roscoe), a widely consumed edible and medicinal plant, possesses significant nutritional and economic value. Abiotic stresses such as drought and low temperatures can impact the growth and development of ginger. The plant-specific transcription factor Teosinte branched1/cycloidea/proliferating cell factor (TCP) has progressively been identified in various plants for its role in regulating plant growth and development as well as conferring resistance to abiotic stresses. However, limited information on the TCP family is available in ginger. In this study, we identified 20 TCP members in the ginger genome, which were randomly distributed across 9 chromosomes. Based on phylogenetic analysis, these ginger TCP were classified into two subfamilies: Class I (PCF) and Class II (CIN, CYC/TB). The classification of the identified ginger TCPs was supported by a multi-species phylogenetic tree and motif structure analysis, suggesting that the amplification of the ginger TCP gene family occurred prior to the differentiation of angiosperms. The promoter region of ginger TCP genes was found to contain numerous cis-acting elements associated with plant growth, development, and abiotic stress response. Among these elements, the stress response element, anaerobic induction, and MYB binding site play a dominant role in drought responsiveness. Additionally, expression pattern analysis revealed variations in the expression of ginger TCP gene among different tissues and in response to diverse abiotic stresses (drought, low temperature, heat, and salt). Our research offers a thorough examination of TCP members within the ginger plant. This analysis greatly contributes to the understanding of how TCP genes regulate tissue development and response to stress, opening up new avenues for further exploration in this field.

Ginger is a valuable crop known for its nutritional, seasoning, and health benefits. However, abiotic stresses, such as high temperature and drought, can adversely affect its growth and development. Heat shock transcription factors (HSFs) have been recognized as crucial elements for enhancing heat and drought resistance in plants. Nevertheless, no previous study has investigated the HSF gene family in ginger. In this research, a total of 25 ZoHSF members were identified in the ginger genome, which were unevenly distributed across ten chromosomes. The ZoHSF members were divided into three groups (HSFA, HSFB, and HSFC) based on their gene structure, protein motifs, and phylogenetic relationships with Arabidopsis. Interestingly, we found more collinear gene pairs between ZoHSF and HSF genes from monocots, such as rice, wheat, and banana, than dicots like Arabidopsis thaliana. Additionally, we identified 12 ZoHSF genes that likely arose from duplication events. Promoter analysis revealed that the hormone response elements (MEJA-responsiveness and abscisic acid responsiveness) were dominant among the various cis-elements related to the abiotic stress response in ZoHSF promoters. Expression pattern analysis confirmed differential expression of ZoHSF members across different tissues, with most showing responsiveness to heat and drought stress. This study lays the foundation for further investigations into the functional role of ZoHSFs in regulating abiotic stress responses in ginger.

In order to solve the problem that digging lotus roots manually was high in labor intensity, low in efficiency and easy to damage lotus roots, and, in view of the defects of the high cost of existing digging lotus roots equipment and the cumbersome operating process needing a certain experience in technology, a jetting spin type digging lotus root machine is designed. Combined with the mechanism of hydraulic digging lotus root, a rotation pipeline is designed, so as to simplify the whole machine structure and increase the digging width. It takes only manpower or vehicles to push forward to perform digging lotus root work, with simple operation and low manufacturing cost. Pro/Engineer 3D design software and CAD 2D drawing software are used to design key working parts such as rotation pipeline, spray-head, nozzle, etc. In addition, key parameters of nozzle structure are designed. Through validation, the intensity of jet flow impact force produced by the diameter 17 mm nozzle to lotus root surface is 97.22 N, and the pressure is 0.20 MPa, which produces no damage to lotus root. By means of a mechanical analysis method, combined with CFD flow field analysis and fluid dynamics analysis, the rotational speed mathematical model of rotation pipeline in water is established through MATLAB software solving and calculating. In addition, the influence of nozzle structural parameters on rotational speed of rotation pipeline is made clear. By using the kinematic analysis method, the rotational speed mathematical model of rotation pipeline associated with the jetting impact frequency of single point and the time of each impact is established, and from which the restricting factors of the working speed of jetting spin type digging lotus root machine is obtained, so as to improve the efficiency of digging lotus roots machine under the premise of ensuring the digging depth and the quality of lotus roots. Through the CFD flow field analysis and dynamic analysis, the mathematical model of loss power of rotating pipeline is established. Through comprehensive analysis, the mathematical model of working speed associated with digging time and speed of rotary pipe and effective range radius of jet impact for digging lotus root machine is obtained, which provides a theoretical basis for adjustment of working parameters of digging lotus root machine.

African swine fever (ASF) is a devastating infectious disease caused by African swine fever virus (ASFV). The ASFV genome encodes multiple structural and non-structural proteins that contribute to evasion of host immunity. In this study, we determined that the viral non-structural protein MGF360-14L inhibits interferon-β (IFN-β) promoter activity induced by cGAS-STING signaling. MGF360-14L was also found to downregulate expression of the IRF3 protein and promote its degradation through ubiquitin-meditated proteolysis. Moreover, MGF360-14L was shown to interact with and destabilize IRF3 by facilitating E3 ligase TRIM21-mediated K63-linked ubiquitination of IRF3. Overall, our study revealed that MGF360-14L promotes degradation of IRF3 through TRIM21, thereby inhibiting type I interferon production. These findings provide new insights into the mechanisms underlying ASFV immune evasion.

The relationship between protein changes and egg quality during storage is a critical area of investigation in both basic science and egg product preservation. Viscosity changes in albumen are a sensitive sign of the deterioration process. Ovomucin, which is present in albumen, plays an important role in the gelation of the albumen. Egg freshness indices and ovomucin concentration will alter in response to storage time. This paper analyzed the correlation and gray relational degree between the Haugh unit (HU), yolk index, albumen pH, and ovomucin concentration. We studied the differences in the ovomucin concentration at different levels of HU, yolk index, and pH during storage. We established an equivalent egg age prediction model using ovomucin concentration as the independent variable. The findings indicated a correlation between the freshness indices and the ovomucin concentration. This paper presents a two dimensional finite element (FE) approach to investigating beneficial aspects of geogrids in the railway track. The influences of different factors including the subgrade strength, the geogrid stiffness, the placement depth of geogrid, the effective width of geogrid, the strength of ballast-geogrid interface and the combination of double geogrid layers were investigated under the monotonic loading. The results indicated the role of geogrid reinforcement is more pronounced over the weak compressible subgrade. A stiffer geogrid reduces ballast settlement and produces a more uniform stress distribution along a track. The placement location of a geogrid is suggested at the ballast-sub-ballast interface to achieve better reinforcement results. Although the width of a geogrid layer should be sufficient to cover an entire loaded area, excessive width does not guarantee additional benefits. Higher interface strength between a ballast and a geogrid is beneficial for effective reinforcement. Increasing the number of geogrid layers is an effective way to reinforce the ballast over weak subgrades. The results of the limited cyclic FE simulations revealed the consistency of the reinforcement effect of the geogrids under monotonic and cyclic loads.

To meet the requirements of riser safety monitoring in offshore oil fields, a new Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG)-based bundle-structure riser stress monitoring sensor has been developed. In cooperation with many departments, a 49-day marine test in water depths of 1365 m and 1252 m was completed on the “HYSY-981” ocean oil drilling platform. No welding and pasting were used when the sensor was installed on risers. Therefore, the installation is convenient, reliable and harmless to risers. The continuous, reasonable, time-consistent data obtained indicates that the sensor worked normally under water. In all detailed working conditions, the test results show that the sensor can do well in reflecting stresses and bending moments both in and in magnitude. The measured maximum stress is 132.7 MPa, which is below the allowable stress. In drilling and testing conditions, the average riser stress was 86.6 MPa, which is within the range of the China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) mechanical simulation results.

ObjectivePrevious studies reported the associations between the ATP-binding cassette sub-family B member 1 (ABCB1, also known as MDR1) polymorphisms and their haplotypes with risk of response to antiepileptic drugs in epilepsy, however, the results were inconclusive.MethodsThe Pubmed, Embase, Web of Science, CNKI and Chinese Biomedicine databases were searched up to July 15, 2014. Pooled odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were calculated using a fixed-effects or random-effects model based on heterogeneity tests. Meta-regression and Galbraith plot analysis were carried out to explore the possible heterogeneity.ResultsA total of 57 studies involving 12407 patients (6083 drug-resistant and 6324 drug-responsive patients with epilepsy) were included in the pooled-analysis. For all three polymorphisms (C3435T, G2677T/A, and C1236T), we observed a wide spectrum of minor allele frequencies across different ethnicities. A significantly decreased risk of AEDs resistance was observed in Caucasian patients with T allele of C3435T variant, which was still significant after adjusted by multiple testing corrections (T vs C: OR=0.83, 95%CI=0.71-0.96, p=0.01). However, no significant association was observed between the other two variants and AEDs resistance. Of their haplotypes in ABCB1 gene (all studies were in Indians and Asians), no significant association was observed with AEDs resistance. Moreover, sensitivity and Cumulative analysis showed that the results of this meta-analysis were stable.ConclusionIn summary, this meta-analysis demonstrated that effect of C3435T variant on risk of AEDs resistance was ethnicity-dependent, which was significant in Caucasians. Additionally, further studies in different ethnic groups are warranted to clarify possible roles of haplotypes in ABCB1 gene in AEDs resistance, especially in Caucasians.

Chinese comic books appear to be filled with bright colors and interesting characters, but they also offer insight into the daily life relations and societal principles of modern China. In this study, we examined the construction and underlying meanings of money metaphors in Zhu Deyong’s comic book series We Are All Patients, and We Are All Patients 2: Love with an Idiot, using the conceptual metaphor theory (CMT). By mapping abstract concepts into more concrete and familiar domains, CMT conveys complex ideas, emotions, and social commentary in a way that readers can easily understand. We analyzed thirty-nine randomly chosen comic strips from Zhu’s comic books using Charteris-Black’s (2004) inductive method, conceptual metaphor analysis (CMA), to identify, explain, and interpret different metaphors. Through our analysis, we highlighted the most prominent money metaphors and how they relate to the current love and friendship relations made by modern Chinese people in their everyday lives. We found that money metaphors are classified into seven source domains: barrier, drug, tool, almighty, exchange, principle, and ambition. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
